The criterion is a modified form of a well-known criterion due to Mills, Mullis, and Roberts. The criterion is in the form of linear matrix inequality and, hence, computationally tractable. Input-to-state stability (ISS) of a parameterized family of discrete-time time-varying nonlinear systems is investigated. A converse Lyapunov theorem for such systems is developed. We consider parameterized families of discrete-time systems and concentrate on a semiglobal practical type of stability that naturally arises when an approximate discrete-time model is used to design a controller for a sampled-data system. An application of our main result to time-varying periodic systems is presented, and this is used to solve a robust stabilization problem, namely to design a control law for systems in power form yielding semiglobal practical ISS (SP-ISS). 相似文献

This paper revisits the problem of stability analysis for linear discrete-time systems with time-varying delay in the state. By utilizing the delay partitioning idea, new stability criteria are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). These conditions are developed based on a novel Lyapunov functional. In addition to delay dependence, the obtained conditions are also dependent on the partitioning size. We have also established that the conservatism of the conditions is a non-increasing function of the number of partitions. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed methods. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the problems of stability and stabilization for discrete-time periodic linear systems subject to input saturation. Both local results and global results are obtained. For local stability and stabilization, the so-called periodic invariant set is used to estimate the domain of attraction. The conditions for periodic invariance of an ellipsoid can be expressed as linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be used for both enlarging the domain of attraction with a given controller and synthesizing controllers. The periodic enhancement technique is introduced to reduce the conservatism in the methods. As a by-product, less conservative results for controller analysis and design for discrete-time time-invariant systems with input saturation are obtained. For global stability, by utilizing the special properties of the saturation function, a saturation dependent periodic Lyapunov function is constructed to derive sufficient conditions for guaranteeing the global stability of the system. The corresponding conditions are expressed in the form of LMIs and can be efficiently solved. Several numerical and practical examples are given to illustrate the theoretical results proposed in the paper. 相似文献

This paper concerns adaptive estimation of dynamic systems which are nonlinearly parameterized. A majority of adaptive algorithms employ a gradient approach to determine the direction of adjustment, which ensures stable estimation when parameters occur linearly. These algorithms, however, do not suffice for estimation in systems with nonlinear parameterization. We introduce in this paper a new algorithm for such systems and show that it leads to globally stable estimation by employing a different regression vector and selecting a suitable step size. Both concave/convex parameterizations as well as general nonlinear parameterizations are considered. Stable estimation in the presence of both nonlinear parameters and linear parameters which may appear multiplicatively is established. For the case of concave/convex parameterizations, parameter convergence is shown to result under certain conditions of persistent excitation. 相似文献

A direct method is presented for stability analysis of nonlinear interconnected dynamical systems. A new scalar Lyapunov function is considered as weighted sum of individual Lyapunov functions for each free subsystem and individual scalar functions related separately to each connection. Sufficient conditions are obtained for asymptotic stability of the equilibrium state by testing the definity of two constant square matrices whose dimension is equal to the number of subsystems. This method can assure stability of systems with possible unstable subsystems. A simple numerical example is included to illustrate this theory. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the treatment of saturation nonlinearity existing commonly in practical control systems. An improved treatment of such nonlinearity is proposed, which includes the well-known linear differential inclusion method for handling saturation nonlinearity as a special case. To show the effectiveness of this new treatment, the problem of analysis and design of linear systems subject to nested saturation function is revisited. The proposed results not only complement the existing work on this problem, but also are less conservative than the existing methods. This paper addresses the stability issue of discrete-time switched systems with guaranteed dwell-time. The approach of switched homogeneous Lyapunov function of higher order is formally proposed. By means of this approach, a necessary and sufficient condition is established to check the exponential stability of the considered system. With the observation that switching signal is actually arbitrary if the dwell time is one sample time, a necessary and sufficient condition is also presented to verify the exponential stability of switched systems under arbitrary switching signals. Using the augmented argument, a necessary and sufficient exponential stability criterion is given for discrete-time switched systems with delays. In this paper, stability of discrete-time linear systems subject to actuator saturation is analyzed using a saturation-dependent Lyapunov function. This saturation-dependent Lyapunov function captures the real-time information on the severity of actuator saturation and leads to less conservative estimate of the domain of attraction, which is based on the solution of an LMI optimization problem.
