We proposed a support system called the “Smart Partition System” for infill elements that integrate smart technologies according to the Open Building principles. The design requirements were collected from design practitioners. These design requirements consisted of both architectural and information subsystems. The Smart Partition System was composed of the following multiple levels of smartness: the foundation/core level with an embedded design knowledge in the support system and the utility level with a modular infill that integrate smart technologies. We constructed functional prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed support system and some of the possibilities of the smart infill elements. Furthermore, the prototypes were evaluated by design practitioners. We compared our approach with current practices of smart building developments, and we also discussed some future prospects.  相似文献

An Intelligent Building Communications Network (IBN) is a ubiquitous network that integrates Telecommunications, an Intelligent Building Information System (IBIS) and Business Resources over a digital communications platform and has interoperability between systems. Implementation of an IBN is dependent on the migration of IBIS communications networks into the domain of telecommunication and the adoption of Open Systems Interconnection to standardise protocol development. A mechanism suitable to achieve this goal is the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), a fully managed switched network service based on a 64 Kbps channel.  相似文献

The next stage of the Green Building Challenge process incorporating the revised goals for Green Building Challenge and GBTool are reported. This will culminate in a conference in October 2000, Sustainable Building 2000. Building product models are presented as an integrated representation for use in translating information between current and future design applications. Using an information model developed for design applications, we specify a Generic Building Model that represents both the physical and abstract information necessary to model basic knowledge about buildings and architecture. The Generic Building Model and its subsidiary concepts are reviewed. We show how it can incorporate building type information, and include the needs of various activities for comparison against the constructed form. We illustrate the model's behavior by showing how it can be adapted to model information relevant to hospital design.  相似文献

The construction industry is currently undergoing digital transformation due to emerging technologies. Hence new forms of organisation are needed. Collaborating with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is complex and challenges the management of projects. The ubiquitous digital information sharing among multi-disciplinary actors in BIM-based projects, activates dense inter-organisational processes. This study offers insights into collaboration with BIM, through the theoretical lens of boundaries. By analysing two projects of BIM-based collaboration in the Netherlands, the interplay between structure and agency of collaboration was discussed. The various artefacts of BIM, as boundary objects were interpreted in multiple ways by different communities of practice and this resulted in poor communication and consequently poor collaboration. The findings challenge the prevalent view of BIM as a software artefact and showed that this view only partially supports collaboration. Additionally, a structurational view (enabled by communication, conflict management, negotiation, and teamwork) as opposed to a structural view of collaboration (e.g. BIM as a software) can fully support the implementation of digital innovations. Finally, the paper revealed a ‘tactical gap’ in the implementation of digital between strategic and operational decision-making needs fine-tuning to ensure better collaboration in projects where digital innovations are adopted. The study concludes with propositions for supporting organisation of teams through integration of activities and the management of BIM-based collaboration in projects beyond merely structural and technological approaches, which dominate the field but from a structurational view instead.  相似文献

The article describes the development and expected future direction of knowledge infrastructure pertaining to sustainable building in The Netherlands with particular reference to two computer programs based on lifecycle analyses: Eco-Quantum Residential and Eco-Quantum Research. The first is a tool for architects to identify the environmental consequences of different options, while Eco-Quantum Research allows for in-depth analyses and therefore can be used for developing innovative designs. The programs were made commercially available in November 1999 after testing by practitioners and municipalities in The Netherlands. Building economics has been long in emerging because it still lacks solid theoretical foundations. The notion of ‘building process’ should play a central role in this regard, as it points at the fundamental indeterminacy underlying building activity from conception to demolition. This indeterminacy stems from the length of time that usually separates these two events. Building economics needs to shift its focus from investment decisions to problems of managing building portfolios in their entirety.
