Abstract

The true identity of Joaquín García Carmona, the famous Spanish cryptologist, author Treaty of Cryptography with Special Application to the Army, is revealed in this paper and biographical details are provided.     

JOHANN FRIEDRICH EULER (1741–1800): MATHEMATICIAN AND CRYPTOLOGIST AT THE COURT OF THE DUTCH STADHOLDER WILLIAM V

During the latter part of the 18th century, some mathematicians started to turn their interest to cryptology. Their attitude differed in many ways from the approach of the professional crypt analysts, of their time, but their interest was far from being merely academical. Johann Priedrich Euler, mathematician and cryptologist at the Court of the Dutch Stadholder William V, showed a marked ability to put into practice some of the new principles and insights, forwarded in scholarly journals of the time.     

REMARKS ON A PROPOSED CRYPTANALYTIC ATTACK ON THE M.I.T. PUBLIC-KEY CRYPTOSYSTEM

A hitherto unknown aspect of the career of Herbert O. Yardley was his appointment as forensic cryptologist to the Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory of Chicago. His appointment followed his leaving government service, byt predated the release of The American Black Chamber. Techniques Yardley observed at the laboratory he later applied to his espionage career.

Biography of Brigadier John Tiltman, who worked as a cryptologist for the British and American governments from 1920 to 1980.     

MUSICAL CRYPTOGRAPHY

Cipher Device M-94 was adopted by the United States Army in 1922, the same year papers found in the Library of Congress revealed that Thomas Jefferson had invented the same device about 125 years earlier. Almost 100 years after Jefferson, Commandant Etienne Bazeries, a French army cryptologist, independently developed a similar device. Both inventions, which ultimately formed the basis for the most widely used cryptosystems in the 20th century, apparently had a common antecedent in the letter lock, which was popularized in France by Edme Regnier during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.     

Large-scale monitoring of snow cover and runoff simulation in Himalayan river basins using remote sensing

Various remote sensing products are used to identify spatial-temporal trends in snow cover in river basins originating in the Himalayas and adjacent Tibetan-Qinghai plateau. It is shown that remote sensing allows detection of spatial-temporal patterns of snow cover across large areas in inaccessible terrain, providing useful information on a critical component of the hydrological cycle. Results show large variation in snow cover between years while an increasing trend from west to east is observed. Of all river basins the Indus basin is, for its water resources, most dependent on snow and ice melt and large parts are snow covered for prolonged periods of the year. A significant negative winter snow cover trend was identified for the upper Indus basin. For this basin a hydrological model is used and forced with remotely sensed derived precipitation and snow cover. The model is calibrated using daily discharges from 2000 to 2005 and stream flow in the upper Indus basin can be predicted with a high degree of accuracy. From the analysis it is concluded that there are indications that regional warming is affecting the hydrology of the upper Indus basin due to accelerated glacial melting during the simulation period. This warming may be associated with global changes in air temperature resulting from anthropogenic forcings. This conclusion is primarily based on the observation that the average annual precipitation over a five year period is less than the observed stream flow and supported by positive temperature trends in all seasons.

主动网络工具集ANTS的主动包格式分析

目前国内发表的一些论文上关于ANTS的主动包格式介绍的不是很清楚、甚至是有些出入,而国外的有关文献中也没有相关内容的详细介绍。本文介绍了通过在搭建的ANTS主动网络平台上运行主动Ping命令,而后捕获该主动Ping数据包进行分析的方法,得出了ANTS的主动包(封装体)详细格式。     

Slicing concurrent Java programs using Indus and Kaveri

Program slicing is a program analysis and transformation technique that has been successfully used in a wide range of applications including program comprehension, debugging, maintenance, testing, and verification. However, there are only few fully featured implementations of program slicing that are available for industrial applications or academic research. In particular, very little tool support exists for slicing programs written in modern object-oriented languages such as Java, C#, or C++. In this paper, we present Indus—a robust framework for analyzing and slicing concurrent Java programs, and Kaveri—a feature-rich Eclipse-based GUI front end for Indus slicing. For Indus, we describe the underlying tool architecture, analysis components, and program dependence capabilities required for slicing. In addition, we present a collection of advanced features useful for effective slicing of Java programs including calling-context sensitive slicing, scoped slicing, control slicing, and chopping. For Kaveri, we discuss the design goals and basic capabilities of the graphical facilities integrated into a Java development environment to present the slicing information. This paper is an extended version of a tool demonstration paper presented at the International Conference on Fundamental Aspects of Software Engineering (FASE 2005). Thus, the paper highlights tool capabilities and engineering issues and refers the reader to other papers for technical details. 使用JSP技术生成动态XML管理信息系统的设计与实现

Mapping the Nidar Ophiolite Complex of the Indus Suture Zone,Northwestern-Trans Himalaya using IRS-1C/1D data

In this study, using high resolution IRS-1C/lD satellite sensor data, the digital terrain model (DTM) of the Nidar Ophiolite Complex, Indus Suture Zone, India provided an excellent three-dimensional perspective of the terrain and helped in a comprehensive appraisal of the lithology and structure and their influence on the development of the present-day landforms of the cold and dry high-altitude region of the Trans-Himalayan terrain. While the earlier published geological maps of the area show the presence of a number of lithological units, this study has demonstrated that refined and systematic lithological boundaries and structural inferences can be made from the high resolution Indian Remote Sensing Satellite sensor data.     

发动机控制软件自动测试脚本技术研究

为有效解决航空发动机控制软件回归测试效率低及自动测试脚本编写维护难度大的问题,研究了关键字驱动的自动测试脚本技术.通过对系统行为由外而内的分析和抽象,设计出一套通用的自动测试脚本语言规范,利用SpecFlow关键字驱动工具实现了脚本转译和驱动执行.该方法通过关键字实现了脚本、数据、业务分离,自动测试脚本的可读性和维护性好,提高了回归测试自动执行的效率和质量.     

Script.NET在企业报警监控系统的应用

介绍一种通过脚本引擎和脚本语言来扩展.NET框架上运行的应用程序功能和灵活性的办法。介绍了Script.NET脚本语言以及编写一个典型脚本程序的步骤,通过Script.NET在某大型水厂报警监控系统应用的例子,描述了.NET框架上运行的应用程序调用Script.NET的一般步骤,并说明了脚本验证的方法及如何利用C#的反射机制在Script.NET中引入自定义的类和函数来扩展脚本语言功能的方法。     

女书计算机键盘布局与输入法的研究

目前对女书的研究都是以手写为基础,使得研究进展缓慢,女书信息化迫在眉睫。为此,该文依据键盘布局的基本理论、女书书写规则,分析了女书键盘布局的合理性,并以此为基础,设计出了较科学的女书部首输入法。最后,对此输入法做了样本测试,结果表明此输入法有较高的输入效率。此输入法对女书印刷和女书信息处理具有广泛的使用价值。
