BACKGROUND: Five renal recipients with neurovesical dysfunction (NVD) were retrospectively reviewed focusing on anatomical and urodynamic abnormalities of the lower urinary tract and their management prior to kidney transplantation. METHODS: The underlying anomalies in these 5 patients were a posterior urethral valve (1 with an imperforate anus; n = 2), meningomyelocele (n = 2) and a congenital short urethra with an imperforate anus (n = 1). Their urinary tracts were evaluated prior to transplantation with voiding cystourethrography, urethrocystoscopy, cystometrography and electromyography of the external urethral sphincter to identify a possible focus of urinary tract infection, urine storage and voiding function. RESULTS: All 5 patients had NVD proven by urodynamic studies or by documentation of urinary retention in the absence of mechanical outlet obstruction. Bilateral high grade vesicoureteral reflux was noted in all patients, requiring ureteroneocystostomy. Clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) was ultimately employed for bladder emptying in all patients. Two patients with poor bladder compliance underwent augmentation cystoplasty before transplantation. The Mitrofanoff procedure was used in 2 patients with structural urethral abnormalities to access the bladder for catheterization. After eradication of possible sources of infection and establishment of a low-pressure urine storage system with bladder emptying by CIC, kidney transplantation was performed. Following kidney transplantation, all of the recipients were asymptomatic for urinary tract infections using CIC. Although 1 patient lost his graft due to chronic rejection, the other 4 other patients have good renal function. CONCLUSION: Kidney transplantation in patients with NVD can be performed provided that their urinary tract problems are properly resolved.  相似文献

Urinary retention is uncommon in patients with herpes zoster and anogenital herpes simplex. Seven patients (four men, three women) with a mean age of 68.1 years (range, 35-84) with urinary retention due to herpes zoster (n = 6) or anogenital herpes simplex (n = 1) were studied. Six patients had unilateral skin eruption in the saddle area (S2-4 dermatome) and one patient with herpes zoster had a skin lesion in the L4-5 dermatome. All patients had detrusor areflexia without bladder sensation, and two of them had inactive external sphincter on electromyography at presentation. Clean intermittent catheterization was performed, and voiding function was recovered in 4-6 weeks (average, 5.4) in all patients. Urodynamic study was repeated after recovery of micturition in three patients, and they returned to normal on cystometrography and external sphincter electromyography. Acute urinary retention associated with anogenital herpes infection has been thought to occur when the meninges or sacral spinal ganglia were involved, and, in conclusion, this condition may be considered to be reversible.  相似文献

Bladder autoaugmentation offers an alternative to enterocystoplasties for patients with low capacity high pressure bladders caused by non-malignant pathology. In particular for patients with neuropathic hyperreflexive bladders, refractory to less invasive therapy, bladder autoaugmentation will attain comparable results with less impact on life quality compared to other bladder augmentation procedures. The procedure does not preclude later enterocystoplasty or deafferentations. Over the last 7 years, 50 patients were treated by this method, some of them for other than neurogenic voiding dysfunction. Substantial increase of bladder capacity and compliance resulted, at the cost of increased residual urine and the need for intermittent catheterisation in most patients. Some patients are able to perform complete voiding at will. The time lapse between surgery and functional rehabilitation of the bladder (substantial increase of capacity and detrusor compliance) cannot be predicted yet. In most patients this amelioration was observed 1-6 months after surgery, but in some the effect was equivocal for a year or longer. Low-dose anticholinergics appear to speed up the therapeutic effect. One patient had enterocystoplasty and one deafferentation later, one had rupture of the bladder, probably from the use of an artificial sphincter, and two are rated as failures because of psychogenic bladder-centred problems. Bladder autoaugmentation is a favourable treatment for patients who are motivated to wait possibly longer for functional changes to occur and are willing to perform intermittent catheterisation afterwards.  相似文献

PURPOSE: We determined the effect of reflex sympathetic dystrophy on lower urinary tract function. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 20 consecutive patients (16 women and 4 men) with neurologically verified reflex sympathetic dystrophy was referred for voiding symptoms, including urgency, frequency, incontinence and urinary retention. No patient had had voiding symptoms before the initial trauma that induced reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Evaluation included medical history, physical examination, video urodynamic testing and cystoscopy. RESULTS: Mean patient age was 43.4 +/- 10.2 years (range 28 to 58) and mean duration of urological symptoms was 4.9 +/- 3.6 years (range 1 to 14). Urodynamic study demonstrated a mean cystometric bladder capacity of 417 +/- 182 ml. (range 120 to 700). The urodynamic diagnoses included detrusor hyperreflexia in 8 patients, detrusor areflexia in 8, sensory urgency in 3 and detrusor hyperreflexia with detrusor-external sphincter dyssynergia in 1. In 4 women genuine stress urinary incontinence was also documented urodynamically. CONCLUSIONS: Reflex sympathetic dystrophy may have a profound effect on detrusor and sphincter function.  相似文献

We present 12 patients with presumed congenital urethral stricture (mean age at diagnosis 20 years). They complained of various urological symptoms, including dysuria, transient urinary retention, urgency and reduced flow. The time from onset of symptoms to diagnosis averaged 18 months. The strictures were presumed congenital because no patient had a history of urethral infection or of instrumentation, and all the strictures were at the proximal bulbar urethra, as has been described for congenital, bulbar, urethral stricture. We treated 5 patients initially by internal urethrotomy, of whom 2 required transurethral dilatation at follow-up. 7 others were treated initially by transurethral dilatation, 4 of whom required more than 1 treatment. Follow-up has averaged 21 months. In 8 of 10 patients the maximal urinary flow at latest follow-up is greater than 20 ml/sec.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To study urologic complications in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) in relation to their bladder management. DESIGN AND SETTING: A cohort study of patients with SCI in a rehabilitation center. PARTICIPANTS: One hundred eighty-two patients were studied; demographic data, disease characteristics, and urologic history were obtained for each. INTERVENTION: Patients responding to a questionnaire were given a clinical exam. Their medical records were reviewed, with particular attention given to the following urologic complications: lithiasis, urinary infections, orchiepididymitis, urethral trauma, vesicorenal reflux, and renal failure. RESULTS: Results are reported for 123 patients. Time since SCI was 8 years. Intermittent catheterization was the main method of bladder management. Only 32 patients had changed their method of vesical voiding. Urinary complications had developed in 75% of patients. The most common complication was urinary infection. Vesicoureteral reflux occurred in 26% of patients using percussion. Trauma related to catheterization was the main problem with intermittent catheterization, responsible for a high rate of orchiepididymitis. CONCLUSION: Intermittent catheterization is the most-used method of bladder management, but with a nonnegligible rate of urethral trauma in men. Percussion and Credé maneuver appear to be acceptable techniques of bladder management if the patient is closely monitored.  相似文献

PURPOSE: We attempted to determine whether an introducer tip catheter reduces urinary tract infection in spinal cord injured patients on intermittent catheterization. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The introducer tip catheter bypasses the colonized 1.5 cm. of the distal urethra. Enrolled patients were prospectively entered into the study in alternate groups depending on whether they reflex voided: group 1--on intermittent catheterization with the introducer tip catheter but not voiding spontaneously or wearing an external urinary catheter, group 2--same as group 1 but using a nonintroducer tip catheter; group 3--on intermittent catheterization with the introducer tip catheter, voiding by reflex and wearing an external urinary catheter, and group 4--same as group 3 but using a nonintroducer tip catheter. RESULTS: Statistical significance was shown when comparing patients using versus not using the introducer tip catheter regardless of whether an external urinary catheter was worn (p = 0.0121). A greater difference was noted between patients using and not using the introducer tip catheter in the intermittent catheterization only group (p = 0.0093). CONCLUSIONS: The introducer tip catheter decreased urinary tract infections in hospitalized men with spinal cord injury on intermittent catheterization.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate a group of women with voiding dysfunction and a low maximum flow rate (MFR) (less than or equal to 12 mL/s) after surgery for stress urinary incontinence (SUI); to establish diagnostic parameters indicating obstruction in an attempt to determine treatment selection; and to evaluate preliminary surgical results. METHODS: Eighteen women who underwent anti-incontinence surgery for SUI were diagnosed as having infravesical obstruction (IO). Thirteen women (group A [72%]) presented with clinically predominant symptoms of urgency, frequency, intermittency, and a variable vesical residual volume (RV), and five (group B [28%]) had as their most significant symptoms a high vesical RV and urinary tract infection that had been managed with intermittent catheterization (IC). The diagnosis of IO, suspected after clinical history, was established after physical examination and cystoscopic, cystographic and urodynamic investigations. RESULTS: Bladder instability was demonstrated in 6 group A patients (46%) and 1 group B patient (20%) (P = NS). Mean MFRs were 8.07 and 7.2 mL/s, respectively, in both groups (P = NS). Mean maximal voiding pressures (MVPs) were 20.23 and 5 cm H20, and mean RVs were 57.46 and 174 mL, respectively; both differences were statistically very significant (P <0.01 and P <0.001, respectively). High to normal MVPs occurred in 2 patients overall (11%). Bladder neck overcorrection, midurethral distortion, and postsurgical cystocele were demonstrated in both groups in 11 (85%), 0, and 2 (15%) patients in group A and 3 (60%), 2 (40%), and 3 (60%) patients in group B, respectively (P = NS). Patients in group A were treated surgically with cystourethrolysis and a repeated, less obstructive anti-incontinence operation. In group B 2 women (40%) had a similar surgical procedure; 1 (20%) underwent isolated urethrolysis; and 2 (40%) are currently maintained with IC. CONCLUSIONS: Among these 18 patients with voiding dysfunction after anti-incontinence surgery, a primary diagnosis of IO was established clinically. Only patients with a low MFR were selected for this study. Cytographic and endoscopic investigation as well as the presence of postsurgical cystocele assisted in establishing the diagnosis. The success rate with urethrolysis and resuspension was 60% for the 13 women with predominantly urgency, frequency, and the highest MVPs (20.23 +/- 9.67 cm H20 [group A) and 33% for the 5 women with urinary retention presenting the lowest MVPs (5.00 +/- 7.07 cm H20 [group A]) and 33% for the 5 women with urinary retention presenting the lowest MVPs (5.00 +/- 7.07 cm H20 [group B]). An added resuspension procedure is probably unnecessary in the latter group of patients and requires careful individual selection in the former group.  相似文献

PURPOSE: Urethral obstruction following a stress incontinence procedure occurs in 5 to 20% of patients. We examine the success of transvaginal urethrolysis in resolving voiding dysfunction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective chart review was performed on 39 patients who had undergone transvaginal urethrolysis for urethral obstruction following an anti-incontinence procedure. Preoperatively, a history was taken, and pelvic examination and either video urodynamics or cystoscopy were done. RESULTS: All 39 patients complained of urge incontinence, 13% had urinary retention, 51% had incomplete bladder emptying and 36% voided to completion but had irritative voiding symptoms. Previous surgery included retropubic urethropexy in 41% of the cases, pubovaginal sling in 38% and bladder neck suspension in 21%. Mean length of followup after urethrolysis was 16 months. Of the 39 patients 33 (85%) had resolution of urge incontinence but 5 still required occasional intermittent catheterization. The remaining 6 patients had continued urge incontinence. An augmentation procedure was performed in 4 patients with improvement of symptoms. CONCLUSIONS: Our data support transvaginal urethrolysis for the treatment of iatrogenic urethral obstruction. It is a rapid, effective and minimally invasive technique that should be considered if voiding dysfunction does not resolve spontaneously.  相似文献

Recently, more and more alternative therapeutic methods have been used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). We will report on therapeutic results with a new thermosensitive stent system (Memotherm). This wire mesh stent has been designed especially for urological purposes. It is made of Nitinol, a thermoreactive material, and gains its maximum expansion force al body temperature. Due to the properties of the material the stent is flexible and can adapt to the anatomical conditions of the prostatic part of the urethra. Because of individual variations in the length of the prostatic part of the urethra, the system is available in lengths from 2 to 8 cm. The knitted structure for the first time allows atraumatic removal. Between April, 1992, and September, 1993, we treated a total of 54 BPH patients with the stent system. Mean patient age was 76.1 +/- 7.6 years (61-98). Mean prostatic volume was 51.9 +/- 25 ml (20-150), and the length of the applicated stents was 32.3 +/- 9.5 mm (20-70). Patient selection for stent treatment was carried out with regard to the preoperative risk status of this patient group. Fourteen (26%) of the patients treated were able to micturate before operation; in 40 (74%) urinary drainage was accomplished by means of an indwelling catheter. Following stent application, 53 out of 54 patients were able to micturate. With the first group (preoperative voiding ability), maximum flow had increased from 4.5 ml/s to a mean of 15.8 ml/s, while residual urine volume had decreased from 194.4 ml to 11.8 ml and the AUA 6 Symptoms Score had improved from 24 points to 3.5 points 6 months after stent application. All differences were statistically significant (P < 0.02). With the second group (no preoperative voiding ability), the AUA 6 Symptoms Score had improved from 25 points to 3.9 points (P < 0.02) 6 months after the operation, at which time the mean maximum flow rate was 14.8 ml/s and residual urine volume 14.8 ml. There was no statistically significant difference between the patients who were able and those who were unable to micturate before operation. One case of epididymitis was the only major complication observed after stent placement. Frequent urgency symptoms (30 out of 54 patients; 55.5%) subsided after a mean period of 1 week. The Memotherm stent offers an interesting therapeutic alternative for BPH risk patients.  相似文献

AIM: to determine how collecting urine voided directly into a container compares with urine obtained by suprapubic aspiration. METHOD: urine samples were collected in a sterile recipient placed in the toilet or in the bed-pan during voiding, after the vulval region had been cleaned by water. These samples were compared with samples of the same urine obtained by suprapubic aspiration. The samples were examined for pyuria and bacteriuria. Applying the Kass criteria on the voided urine specimen and assessing the presence of leucocyturia, it was possible to differentiate urinary tract infection, asymptomatic bacteriuria and contamination. RESULTS: all 13 cases of infection found on suprapubic aspiration were also identified by this sampling technique. The technique produced four false-positive results. CONCLUSION: this simple sampling method may not only obviate the need for suprapubic aspiration but also for bladder catheterization in the diagnosis of urinary tract infection in many elderly women.  相似文献

PURPOSE: Endoscopic laser ablation of the prostate is a safe alternative to transurethral prostatic resection. Recognized disadvantages include prolonged catheterization, postoperative discomfort and delayed symptomatic improvement. We assessed the role of a 1-size temporary prostatic stent in men undergoing endoscopic laser ablation of the prostate. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 55 men a mean of 73 years old with outflow obstruction, including 9 who presented in urinary retention, underwent endoscopic laser ablation of the prostate and temporary stenting. Urinary flow rate, residual urine volume, symptom score and prostate specific antigen were measured preoperatively, and 6 weeks (with the stent in situ), 3 months (after stent removal) and 12 months postoperatively. Duration of hospital stay and complications were also recorded. RESULTS: Of the 55 men 37 (67%) voided immediately with the stent in situ, including 7 of the 9 in retention. At 6 weeks with the stent in place mean maximum urine flow was 17.3 ml. per second (preoperatively 8.7). Dysuria was reported by 3 patients. Stent related complications were rare. One stent migrated early, resulting in urinary retention, while 2 that migrated late were asymptomatic. No patient had acute urinary retention after stent removal. Maximum urinary flow rate measured at 6 weeks with the stent in situ was similar to that 1 year after endoscopic laser ablation of the prostate. CONCLUSIONS: The use of a 1-size, inexpensive plastic prostatic stent enabled catheter-free endoscopic laser ablation of the prostate in 67% of our patients. Early improvements in the urinary flow rate and a lower incidence of dysuria were additional benefits. The result of endoscopic laser ablation of the prostate at 1 year was comparable to that of transurethral prostatic resection.  相似文献

We report our experience utilizing the technique of phenol block of the pudendal nerve in the treatment of voiding dysfunction due to hypertonicity of the external urethral sphincter. We have performed 13 pudendal nerve blocks using a 7% phenol solution in seven patients with spinal cord injury who could not obtain relaxation of the external urethral sphincter with a large postvoid urine residual (150 ml to 600 ml) despite large doses of antispasticity drugs and intermittent catheterisations over three weeks. These drugs were discontinued at least 48 hours before this procedure. The efficacy of the pudendal nerve block could also be tested by the ease of facilitating micturition during or just after the block and measuring the amount of postvoid residual urine and intravesical leak pressure. A pudendal nerve block was produced by injecting a 7% phenol solution medial to the ischial tuberosity having specifically localized the nerve by electrical stimulation. This procedure improved the voiding pattern dramatically, leading to a full stream of urine and a remarkable decrease of postvoid residual volume and intravesical leak pressure. The mean difference of the postvoid residual volume and the intravesical leak pressure before and after pudendal nerve block was 255.7 ml and 57.5 cmH2O, respectively. We conclude that pudendal nerve block with a phenol solution as a treatment of external urethral sphincter hypertonicity was effective, easy to perform, and had no complication. This treatment should be considered as a possible alternative to more invasive surgical procedures.  相似文献

PURPOSE: There is a lack of consensus regarding indications and long-term efficacy of the many surgical techniques for treating stress incontinence. Historically pubovaginal sling has been reserved for cases of intrinsic sphincter deficiency or prior surgical failure. Transvaginal needle and retropubic suspensions have been used mainly for sphincteric incontinence unassociated with intrinsic sphincter deficiency. We report the long-term results of pubovaginal sling for all types of stress incontinence. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 251 consecutive women with all types of stress incontinence who underwent pubovaginal fascial sling by a single surgeon were retrospectively and prospectively reviewed. Patients were evaluated preoperatively with history, physical examination, standardized symptom questionnaire, voiding diary, pad test, uroflow, post-void residual urine, video urodynamics and cystoscopy. Postoperatively women with at least 1-year followup were assessed by an independent third party (J. R.) who had no prior knowledge of them, and who recorded the parameters of the questionnaire, examination with a full bladder, voiding diary, pad test, uroflow and post-void residual urine. RESULTS: Overall stress incontinence was cured or improved in 92% of the patients with at least 1-year followup (median 3.1 years, range 1 to 15). The majority of patients with postoperative incontinence had de novo (3%) or persistent (23%) urge incontinence. Permanent urinary retention developed in 4 patients (2%). CONCLUSIONS: Fascial pubovaginal sling is an effective treatment for all types of stress incontinence with acceptable long-term efficacy.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effects of flutamide in patients with physical and/or mental disorders consulting for urinary symptoms secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). METHODS: 50 patients with BPH in whom surgical treatment was contraindicated due to their physical and/or mental condition were treated with flutamide 250 mg/day. Four patients presented with urinary retention and 46 patients had prostatic symptomatology. Patients were evaluated using the symptoms score (I-PSS) and quality of life (QL). Prostate volume was measured by transabdominal US; the maximum flow rate at spontaneous micturition and residual urine were determined. RESULTS: At 12 months, the I-PSS and QL scores decreased by a mean of 7 and 3 points, respectively. The US demonstrated that treatment had reduced prostatic volume by a mean of 10 gms. The maximum flow rate at spontaneous micturition increased 3 ml/sec and residual urine decreased by 15 ml. CONCLUSION: Flutamide is another alternative to surgery in specific patients with BPH.  相似文献

A retrospective review of 95 consecutive primary total hip arthroplasty patients was performed to assess the clinical outcome of two postoperative bladder management protocols. The first 49 patients (group 1) were treated with a pro re nata straight catheterization protocol. The next 46 patients (group 2) were treated with an indwelling catheterization protocol. There were no differences between the groups with respect to sex or age. The patients in group 2 had significantly lower incidences of urinary retention (P < .0005) and bladder distention (P < .0005) than those in group 1. Preoperative systemic diseases and urologic symptoms did not correlate with the occurrence of postoperative urinary retention or bladder distention. There were no infections in group 1. In group 2, one patient (2%) had bacteriuria and one patient (2%) had a urinary tract infection (P > .1). This trend of increased contamination in the catheterization group may be related to a mean catheterization duration of 72 hours.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The most frequent complication of surgical hemorrhoidectomy is urinary retention. This study evaluates the incidence of urinary retention in a series of patients undergoing surgical hemorrhoidectomy in an ambulatory setting. METHODS: The records of all patients undergoing anorectal surgical operative procedures during the calendar year 1990 were reviewed, with particular emphasis on urinary retention and other postoperative complications. RESULTS: Of 201 patients undergoing full surgical hemorrhoidectomy by Colon and Rectal Clinic, 91 percent had operations performed on an ambulatory basis (discharge less than four hours following surgery). Of these 190 patients, only 1 (0.53 percent) required urinary catheterization during the postoperative period. CONCLUSIONS: The ambulatory setting, when combined with careful patient education and perioperative fluid restriction, allows surgical hemorrhoidectomy to be performed with a very low incidence of urinary retention to the benefit of both patient and surgeon.  相似文献

Since April, 1992, 178 patients with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia were treated by TUMT (363 treatments). Before entering the study, all patients had a Madsen symptom score of > 8, peak flow rate of < 15 ml/s, or average flow rate of < 10 ml/s, and post voiding residual urine of < 300 ml/s. The prostatic length was classified into group I < 50 mm (101 patients) and group II < 50 mm (77 patients). TUMT with the Prostatron device (Technomed) was performed in one, two or three session(s) of one or two hour(s) with analgosedation and on an outpatient basis. After treatment all patients were catheterized for 1-3 weeks; the morbidity rate was very low. Three and six months after treatment, the Madsen symptom score, peak flow rate, average flow rate and postvoiding residual urine improved to a high statistical significance in both groups. TUMT for benign prostatic outflow obstruction proved to be an effective treatment throughout the study period, with minimum morbidity. It must be emphasized that the degree of prostatic enlargement or the severity of the symptoms does not indicate clinical success or failure. However, the degree of bladder outflow obstruction and the quality of treatment achieved are very important: a) In patients with severe obstruction, TURP or open surgery continues to be the treatment that affords rapid relief of their symptoms. b) The clinical response to TUMT is dose-dependent; i.e., higher thermal dose, longer session (2 h) and the use of different catheters enhance the therapeutic efficacy.  相似文献

A retrospective study was conducted during 8 years to determine the epidemiological features of condyloma and its complications in patients attending urology consultations in Lomé teaching hospital. During this period, 257 cases (218 males, 38 females) of condyloma were diagnosed. The condyloma represented the fifth cause of consultation in urology, after genito-urinary infection (n = 1214), prostatic dysuria (n = 1095), vesicovaginal fistula (n = 849), lower tractus urinary lithiasis (n = 500). The average age of the patients was 28 years (range: 14-57). In 51 cases the condyloma were associated with others sexually transmitted diseases: 25 cases of gonococcal infection, 11 cases of chancroid, 9 cases of vaginal candidiasis, and 6 cases of genital trichomoniasis. We noted 41 cases of urological complications: 19 cases of urinary infection, 13 cases of retention of urine, 7 cases of urinary forked jet, and 2 cases of urethrorrhagia. The results of this study shows that, the condyloma is commun sexually transmitted disease seen in urology clinic. Its classically benign course in patients males, were predominant, in this sex, by the urinary infection and urological mechanical accidents.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: Contemporary audits and reviews of outcome after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) make little reference to failure to void following catheter removal after this operation. There have been few reports of the likelihood of a successful trial without a catheter after TURP related to mode of presentation. We report the results of a retrospective review of outcome of TURP related to mode of presentation, age, and prostate histologic findings in a consecutive series of patients in a London Teaching Hospital. METHODS: A consecutive series of 379 patients (381 TURPs) was reviewed to document the incidence of and risk factors for failure to void following initial trial without a catheter after TURP. RESULTS: Twelve percent of men failed to void after TURP on the initial trial without a catheter. In those patients presenting with lower urinary tract symptoms, there were no instances of failure to void. Ten percent of patients with acute retention (painful inability to void, urine volume less than 800 mL), 38% with chronic retention (maintenance of spontaneous voiding, bladder volume greater than 500 mL), and 44% with acute on chronic retention (painful retention, urine volume greater than 800 mL) failed to void after TURP. Only 1% of patients required management by long-term catheterization. Failure to void on catheter removal was not related to age or prostate histologic findings. CONCLUSIONS: Bladder volume at initial presentation in patients with urinary retention provides important information about the likelihood of re-establishing spontaneous voiding catheter removal following TURP. Patients should be warned that there is a significant chance of failure to void after TURP, the exact risk depending on their mode of presentation, but that most will ultimately not require a permanent indwelling catheter.  相似文献
