认证中的误区

A quality system cannot really work unless it includes an effective means of internal quality auditing. It cannot be stressed enough that until you routinely check and improve your quality system, you haven't really started. Having decided to implement an internal quality audit system you need to do the job well; after all, the word ‘quality’ is included!     

Tests for Change in a Mean Function when the Data are Dependent

Detecting changes in the mean of a stochastic process is important in many areas, including quality control. We develop powerful omnibus tests for the null hypothesis that the underlying mean is constant. The proposed tests can be applied to test for any kind of change, whether it be abrupt, smooth or cyclical. Nonparametric function estimation techniques are used in deriving these tests. The test statistics are derived from a Fourier series smoother that minimizes an estimate of mean integrated squared error.
An important example of correlated data is that arising from a stationary time series. To obtain a valid test of mean constancy, it is necessary to estimate the spectrum of the error process, and we consider various methods of doing this. We have found that, in the case of an AR(1) model, the spectrum is well estimated if local linear smoothing is used in conjunction with generalized least squares. A power study of the proposed tests is done by simulation when the errors follow an AR(1) model, and the tests are applied to a set of astronomy data.

A New Test for Checking the Equality of the Correlation Structures of two time Series

An order selection test is proposed to check the equality of two independent stationary time series in their correlation structures. The asymptotic distribution of the order selection test statistic under the null hypothesis is obtained. Furthermore, it is shown that the proposed test is consistent not only under any fixed alternative hypothesis but also under a sequence of local alternative hypotheses. A simulation study is conducted to examine the finite sample performance of the test in comparison to some existing methods. The proposed test is also applied to an analysis of a biomedical data set.     

ANALYSIS AND DETECTION OF OUTLIERS AND SYSTEMATIC ERRORS IN INDUSTRIAL PLANT DATA

This article describes the analysis of industrial process data to detect outliers and systematic errors. Data reconciliation is an important step in adjusting mathematical models to plant data. The quality of the data directly affects the quality of adjustment of the model for modeling, simulation, and optimization purposes. To detect these errors in a multivariable system is not an easy task. If the origin of the abnormal values is known, these values can be immediately discarded. On the other hand, if an error or an extreme observation is not clearly justified, the decision whether or not to discard these values must be based on statistical analysis. In this work, in addition to process knowledge, the methodology employed involves an approach based on statistical analysis, first-principle equations, neural network models, and a composite of these. The neural network based approach was used to represent the process in order to classify similar inputs and outputs, i.e., to identify clusters. The elimination of gross errors was performed by the similarity principle or by hypothesis testing for means. The system studied is the Isoprene Production Unit of BRASKEM, the largest Brazilian petrochemical plant. The analysis of the process was undertaken by using a one-year database. The frequency of the data collection of the monitoring variables was 15 minutes.
