This paper presents a solution to support parametric design modification in a virtual reality (VR) environment. It builds upon a novel computer-aided design (CAD) and VR integration framework, namely, CAD-linked virtual reality environment. With this framework, semantic information in CAD models, such as constraints, design features, and parametric settings can be automatically extracted during the creation of VR environment and be integrated into the virtual assembly (VA) models. Moreover, the persistent naming mechanism originating from feature-based modeling technology is introduced into the CAD–VR integration, based on which a persistent linkage between VA models and their CAD counterparts can be established. Users are able to visualize design features and to access the associated parametric info in VR environment and also to change the parametric settings online whenever necessary. The modified parametric settings are then sent back to the linked CAD models so that parts can be re-evaluated. The modified CAD part can then be reloaded into the VA model under an automated mechanism. Such communications between CAD and VR applications are supported in a live mode utilizing the COM interfaces provided by CAD server. With this solution, a quick return loop from VR to CAD is achieved. Therefore, it provides the possibility to support quick design change review and “what-if” evaluations for applications such as collaborative system design and immersive project review in VR. This constitutes the major contribution of the work to product development process.  相似文献

Information technologies and the web are challenging, and changing theway industry works. It is believed that web-based 3D interface can be applied to strengthen the interactive visualization and manipulation of products. In this research, a web-based 3D virtual technologies for developing product information framework is applied in automotive electric system. It is very convenient to share with different partners (e.g., co-designers, manufacturers, customers, etc.) via the web for viewing the aesthetic functions, and verifying its related design functions. The overall procedures are listed: First, build CAD models of automotive electric system (including assemble parts and their components) through CAD system, then store them in a relational database. Second, transforming the CAD models users click into virtual reality modeling language (VRML) objects, it can be visualized graphically and animated interactively using a web browser with a VRML plug-in. Finally, operate the VRML objects by Java Language for the different purposes. Due to the technologies that are applied, many interactive modes are generated in cyberspace. Displaying the exploding process of 3D assemble part on the browser, assigning any component of assemble part through the mouse chick directly to display design details, e.g., dimensions, tolerances, datum planes, material, other references, etc. by retrieving the corresponding data from database, and building 2D projected views automatically follow the 3D viewpoint that users assign.  相似文献

In this research, a Web-based conceptual design prototype system applied with open-source software (e.g., Java, PHP, etc.) is presented. Aside from the online conceptual design kernel interpreter module, it consists of four parts; a module to extract 3D component hierarchical configurations; a module to plan and view the assembly paths for 3D components; a module to set up the motion paths of components; and, finally, a module to handle the viewing direction of any component or assembly to show the 2D projected drawings in real time. In the first online module, it combines the chosen primitive features with Boolean operators. This module is programmed with the Java 3D module in order to build the CAD components on the platform of interactive design. Then, it infers the 3D configuration by analyzing the 3D modeling history. The configuration is described by a parent–child hierarchical relationship and the relative positions between two features. The positioning information is computed with respect to the VRML specification. The operation and control of the VRML objects is by the behavior modules of a Java applet, which plans the exploded/unexploded paths of the 3-D parts assembly and is specified interactively on the different components. Meanwhile, assigning the viewing direction to show the dynamic assembling process and generating projected drawings is automatically carried out by following the viewpoint assigned by the user. Finally, the system creates the motion file, in VRML format, for the assembly paths and behavioral simulation. This research offers a new virtual environment for collaborating design issues and discussion.  相似文献

迅速发展的互联网和虚拟现实技术使虚拟实验的实现成为可能。在集虚拟现实最新相关信息的基础上,这里提出基于虚拟现实的自动加工过程实验仿真系统的平台设计方案。以自动生产线为对象,文中主要阐述定制仿真实验体系构架的策略,包括:Java语言和VRML为宿主语言的选择;VRML编程与UG软件相结合的虚拟设备场景建摸方法;增强Web服务器动态交互功能的ASP、HTML、Java Applet混合应用;确保管理模块实现系统动态数据库访问和数据显示的Web服务器与数据库管理系统的组合。研制的原型系统表明,该方案所确定的策略是可行的,并能达到预期的效果。  相似文献

为了实现基于网络的可视化虚拟装配环境,笔者研究了Java3D与VRML相结合的方法。通过Loader接口将VRML造型文件导入到Java3D场景图中,借助Java语言的事件处理模型,并结合Java3D中的Interpolator内插器对象和Alpha对象,实现交互式添加、拆卸、移动和旋转等装配过程。最后以电机中的转子装配为例,给出了一个基于VRML-Java3D的交互式装配可视化环境。  相似文献

对基于Windows Mobile平台的机械制图虚拟模型进行了研究,通过分析基于Windows Mobile的虚拟模型开发平台以及Windows Mobile中的3D图形绘制技术,确定了Mesh类的数据需求;研究了VRML标准IndexFaceSet节点的数据结构,获得了VRML文件解析的逻辑关系;设计实现了基于Direct3DMobile的VRML模型3D浏览器,并实现了基于Windows Mobile平台的机械制图虚拟模型系统设计。该系统拓展了虚拟模型库的应用空间,为其他虚拟模型的移动应用提供了基础。  相似文献

A CNC simulation system based on internet for operation training of manufacturing facility and manufacturing process simulation is proposed. Firstly, the system framework and a rapid modeling method of CNC machine tool are studied under the virtual environment based on PolyTrans and CAD software. Then, a new method is proposed to enhance and expand the interactive ability of virtual reality modeling language(VRML) by attaining communication among VRML, JavaApplet, JavaScript and Html so as to realize the virtual operation for CNC machine tool. Moreover, the algorithm of material removed simulation based on VRML Z-map is presented. The advantages of this algorithm include less memory requirement and much higher computation. Lastly, the CNC milling machine is taken as an illustrative example for the prototype development in order to validate the feasibility of the proposed approach.  相似文献

Using virtual reality to design a new type of hydraulic support is discussed. That is how to make use of the virtual design to develop coal mining machine in practice. The advantages of virtual design are studied and the simple virtual reality system is built. The 3D parts and elements of hydraulic support are modeled with parametric design in CAD software, then exported to VR environment, in which the virtual hydraulic support is assembled, operated and tested. With the method, the errors and faults of design can be fined easily, many improvements are made and the new hydraulic support is developed successfully.  相似文献
