Biggest MEK Plant Commissioned in Dushanzi, Xinjiang

Tianli High-tech Limitedis plant producing 50kt/a sec-butyl alcohol, 30kt/a MEK, and 30kt/a MTBE was built and commissioned on November 26, 2002 in Dushanzi, Xinjiang.This plant is reportedly the most advanced plant with the largest capacity in China.

RIPP and Baling Petrochemical Company under SINOPEC have jointly completed process package of 70 kt/a cyclohexanone ammoximation. The process package is developed on the basis of 50 kt/a cyclohexanone ammoximation process package after successful production on 600 t/a pilot plant in Baling Petrochemical Company.

Therefore the management of China Petroleum Co. has proposed to expand the capacity of No. 5 ethylene plant to 600 kt/a from 500 kt/a. State Development and Reform Commission Has Approved Construction of 1.0 Mt／a Ethylene Unit at Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Company

The State Development and Reform Commission has recently approved the construction of a 1.0 Mt/a class ethylene unit at Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Company. This project will cover 12 units including a 1.0 Mt/a ethylene plant, a 500 kt/a ethylene glycol unit, a 450 kt/a PE unit, and other units with total investment amounting to around 22.38 billion RMB.     

A New Round of Revamping of Caprolactam Plant in Baling

The caprolactam plant of Baling Petrochemical Company,SINOPEC has been operating continuously for four years without shutdown for overhaul. Debottlenecking has been achieved through optimizing technology and technical innovation. Caprolactam production reached 72kt/a and cyclohexanone production reached 69kt/a with total output value 850 million RMB.

China Lihuayi Group has selected the LPOxoSM SELECTORTM （low-pressure butanol/octanol） technology jointly licensed by Dow Chemical Company and Davy Process Technology Limited to be used on its new 250 kt/a unit. This unit is located in Dongying city, Shandong province with a design capacity rated at 140 kt/a octanol, 85 kt/a n-butanol and 24.4 kt/a iso-butanol, and the construction of this unit is expected to be completed by 2010.
