Abstract

Examples, illustrations, occurrences, and instances play a central role in the learning of mathematics. Deliberately getting students to generate examples is a particularly powerful tool in teaching, but, while some of the possibilities they offer are used by many teachers, their full potential is rarely exploited. The authors came to this notion through reflection on their experience of observing teachers in classrooms, of getting students to take initiatives, and of creating examples while working on their own mathematics. They examine the roles played by examples constructed and generated by students, give illustrations and analyses of the use of this tool, and develop a theory for the act of exemplification as an act of cognition. A framework is developed for researchers and practitioners to further this work.  相似文献

In the traditional intelligent English classroom teaching, the efficiency of students' learning is often affected by many external environments, such as the influence of learning environment, the influence of students' own condition, and the influence of teachers' teaching mode. In view of these problems, we propose a wireless sensor network technology intelligent teacher management system, which can reduce the influence of the above factors on students' learning efficiency and improve students' learning efficiency. Make students more focused on learning. The system can monitor the state of students through wireless sensors. When the students are in bad condition, the system can adopt certain measures to enhance the enthusiasm of students. At the same time, the state of students and the state of the classroom will be recorded in the internal background system, the system managers can timely monitor the state of students and teachers, and give some guidance and feedback to students and teachers. This learning system is based on machine-free learning and sensor development. It can adjust the classroom environment to suitable conditions and make students more motivated to learn. Teachers can also have a more stable play, will not cause waste of classroom time and attention loss and other phenomena. When students feel tired or sleepy in class, the management system can also actively remind students. Observing the students' state at all times in the traditional classroom will lead to the teacher's distraction, but the teacher has to observe the students' state while lecturing. This may affect teachers and affect their teaching level, and the use of this automated classroom detection technology can solve such problems. Machine learning is to improve the calculation method through various experiences, which is also a problem in the field of artificial intelligence.  相似文献

Considering the issue of Chinese college students that are not interested in learning English and have a lack of enthusiasm for learning overall, a feedback and motivation application based on cloud computing to teach English vocabulary to Chinese college students has been developed. The mobile application can collect and analyze the problems that users encounter in the process of learning English through the cloud server in real-time, and advise on how to resolve these problems. The feedback system also allows users to access this data. In the case of uploading to designated teachers, teachers can adjust their teaching methods and means through the cloud server in real-time to maximize the quality of teaching and achieve the purpose of monitoring teaching. The system uses a cloud service teaching assistant system;therefore the teaching feedback incentive system is not limited by space, time or place, and is also easy to use. During the development of the mobile application, the difficulty of keeping students interested in learning languages is taken into consideration. Attention must be paid to the learning of English words, assisting in the phonetic training system, and the use of animation in stimulating students’ interest in learning. The program can effectively improve students’ interest in learning, and the feedback obtained from this method of teaching can also help teachers and students in the future.  相似文献

Automatics and Robotics subjects are always greatly improved when classroom teaching is supported by adequate laboratory courses and experiments following the "learning by doing" paradigm, which provides students a deep understanding of theoretical lessons. However, expensive equipment and limited time prevent teachers having sufficient educational platforms, and several low cost and flexible solutions have been developed to permit an effective teaching in Automatics and Robotics at a reasonable cost. Virtual and remote laboratories are inside this group of solutions as Web-based experimentation tools which have demonstrated the importance and effectiveness of hand-on experiences. This paper presents an experience teaching based on a blended-learning method using as experimentation tool a virtual and remote robotic laboratory called RobUALab, which is also described in the paper, in Automatics and Robotics subjects of the Computer Science degree at the University of Alicante. Students experiment with a set of hand-on exercises about Automatics and Robotics using RobUALab, firstly in face-to-face classes where they experiment in-situ with the real plant and, afterwards, they access to the experimentation environment in order to finish remotely their practical exercises outside the laboratory. The results obtained in the evaluation of the educational methodology proposed attest its efficiency in terms of learning degree and performance of the students.  相似文献

Although previous research has demonstrated the benefits of applying the Internet facilities to the learning process, problems with this strategy have also been identified. One of the major difficulties is owing to the lack of an online learning environment that can record the learning portfolio of using the Internet facilities in education, such that the teacher can analyze and evaluate the learning performance of students, and hence the teaching strategies can be adjusted accordingly. In this paper, we propose a web-search learning environment, called Meta-Analyzer, which is able to assist the teachers in analyzing student learning behaviors of using search engines for problem solving. Two-hundred and twenty students and 54 teachers contributed to the trial of the system. The results have shown that the novel approach is able to gain a better understanding about students’ learning processes and searching strategies in technology-enhanced environments, as well as to assist the teachers to acquire more about the learning status of students, and hence more constructive suggestions can be given accordingly.  相似文献

Abstract

This article examines a unique professional development initiative in mathematics teaching that focuses on the design and field testing of pedagogical resources for primary teachers. We examine a particular aspect of the project—namely, helping teachers move from a model centred on explanation and repetitive exercises to an approach centred on listening and responding to students' thinking. In particular, the initiative emphasizes the important role played by students’ reasoning in the construction of their own computational algorithms. This analysis provides evidence that professional development that aims to deepen understanding of students’ mathematical thinking, that provides resources to support the implementation of new teaching strategies, and that strives to establish a collaborative environment enables educators to gain confidence and to develop expertise in their interactions with students in the context of problem solving.  相似文献

在高校中普遍开设的计算机类的通识课程能够有效地提高学习者的操作技能并帮助他们掌握科学研究方法,从而有助于高校学生的创新能力的培养。但是由于此类课程内容较多,学生畏难情绪严重,普通教学方式很难让师生同时沉浸教学之中,不能达到预定的教学目标。对此,通过采用协同学习的方式,促使学生和教师在已有一定知识体系的基础上,兼顾前沿和基础,共同学习,深度探索。实验结果表明,多数学生积极参与协同学习的教学过程,并认为这种教学方式能够提高他们的学习兴趣,支持这种协同学习教学模式。  相似文献

This paper discusses the introduction of a computer-algebra system to perform visualizations in mathematics education.With theIllustrated Mathematicsproject, we provide a comprehensive collection of graphics and animations for various topics in mathematics, which can directly be used for teaching. Because the programs (written inMathematica) we used for the creation of this collection are included, it is easy to design new examples by modifying parameters in existing examples. Therefore,Illustrated Mathematicscan be used as a first step of the introduction of a computer-algebra system in mathematics education.In the second part, we report on the development of a workbench and learning environment, with which the students can discover the mathematical concepts by themselves. For that, the given examples have to be didactically enriched and processed. By creating their own visualizations of increasing complexity, the students improve their knowledge about the underlying computer-algebra system.  相似文献

通过改革现有的教学模式,采用MOOC+SPOC线上线下混合式教学方式,完成在新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情期间的教学任务,达到较好的教学效果。本研究在学生线上学习环境调研的基础上,根据教学的内容和教学对象选择合适的MOOC的资源,搭建相应的SPOC平台开展线上教学,并基于线上的学习情况调整线下学习内容。教学评价分析表明:采用MOOC+SPOC混合式线上线下混合教学方式能有效提高学生的学习效能,实验组学生的期末评价成绩优于对照组的传统教学方式。  相似文献
