Study of the integral antigen of the membranes of fatty globules of human milk

The glycoprotein with the molecular weight of 82,500 D (Ag3) was extracted from the native membranes of fatty globules of human milk and was purified by isoelectrofocusing. Polyclonal antisera (PCA) as well as monoclonal antibodies (MoAb)-ICO-21, ICO-22, ICO-26, ICO-29 against this membrane antigen were produced. The localization of the antigen in the human normal and malignant tissues was tested by the immunochemical technique. Apical staining of the Ag3 was in the acinus and duct cells of the normal breast. Weak staining with the antibodies to Ag3 was revealed in the epithelium cells of ovaries, bronchi, kidney tubules and uterine tubes. The far more pronounced staining of the Ag3 with PCA and MCA was observed in the cell cytoplasma both in the primary and metastatic breast and ovarian tumours. The specificity of the MoAb to Ags suggests that they will be useful in the diagnosis of the malignant disease of the breast and ovary.     

Two sources of excitation of photoluminescence of porous silicon

The change occurring in the photoluminescence spectra and the photoluminescence excitation spectra during aging of porous-silicon samples in air and in vacuum has been investigated. It was found that the character of the photoluminescence changes occurring during aging depends on the wavelength of the exciting light: In the case of excitation in the visible-range band of the luminescence excitation spectrum (λ_exc>490 nm) the photoluminescence decreases and in the case of excitation in the ultraviolet band it predominantly increases. It is shown that the two bands of the luminescence excitation spectrum (visible and ultraviolet) correspond to two different objects on the surface of the porous layer. Fiz. Tekh. 汉语双音节中第一音节的元音共振峰轨迹研究

汉语中,协同发音主要取决于相邻前一音节末尾的元音,以及相邻后一音节首的辅音。主要考察在汉语普通话双音节中,第一音节元音韵母和不同第二音节声母组合时对第一个音节元音共振峰轨迹的影响。元音韵母选用元音三角形的3个顶点的元音,总结了轨迹变化的规律。

红外焦平面探测器性能参数测量中g因子的计算

介绍了红外焦平面探测器性能参数测量中g因子的计算公式。分析并推导出了在理想相对光谱响应情况下,光子探测器及热探测器在受到器件窗口材料所限时g因子的计算公式。举例说明了光子探测器在理想相对光谱响应情况下g因子的计算结果,并与通过实际光谱相对响应计算得到的g因子值进行了比较,它们之间的典型偏差小于5%。因此在一般的红外焦平面器件性能参数测量中,可以通过用理想情况下的g因子值取代实际情况下的g因子值来计算峰值探测率等参数。这种方法相对简单和快捷,且不需要进行实际的相对光谱响应测量。     

Role of protein receptors of Vitamin A in the mechanism of antitumor action of retinoids

Data on protein receptors of vitamin A participating in retinoid metabolism, storage, transport and action are presented. Information about cytosolic protein receptors of vitamin A exerting hormone-like action on the cell proliferation and differentiation is considered in detail. Data concerning the presence of protein receptors in normal and tumour tissues, correlation between protein receptors and biological retinoid effect are analyzed. A hypothetic model of the binding protein mode of action in target cells related to the action model of steroid hormones is described. The authors' own data on action of vitamin A and steroid hormones on the level of estrogen and progesterone receptors in the rate of mammary cancer are reviewed.     

Induction of differentiation of leukemic cells

The review is devoted to news facts in support of the conception advanced by R.E. Kavetsky and others scientists on the possibility of normalization of malignant cell properties due to differentiation increase of these cells under the effect of different inducers. The role and possible mechanisms of viral and cellular oncogenes in cell differentiation are considered. Model cell systems have been chosen as an example to illustrate the involvement of particular oncogenes in haematopoietic cell differentiation. Different mechanisms of oncogenes involvement in cell growth control and differentiation are under discussion.     

In vivo lysis of tumor cells of varying degrees of immune resistance

Mouse tumour cell immune resistance in vitro and in vivo is compared. Cell lysis in the cytotoxic test was estimated in the first case, while the dynamics of elimination of the labelled 125I cells from the organism--in the second case. The lysis of cells in vitro and in vivo was found to correspond to 10 out of 11 studied cell lines of mouse tumours. However in spite of the similarity these methods are not identical, since there were cases when differences between certain cell lines were revealed in vitro but not in vivo, and vice versa.
