The field strength and homogeneity of all the LHC superconducting magnets were measured as a part of the production control and qualification process that has taken place during the past four years. In addition to field measurements at room temperature performed on the integral of the production, a significant part of the magnets has been subjected to extensive magnetic measurements at cold. The measurements at cryogenic temperatures, generally performed up to excitation currents of 12 kA corresponding to the ultimate LHC energy of 7.6 TeV, were mainly based on static and dynamic field integral and harmonic measurements. This allowed us to study in detail the DC effects from persistent current magnetization and long-term decay during constant current excitation. These effects are all expected to be of relevance for the field setting and error compensation in the LHC. This paper reports the main results obtained during these tests executed at operating conditions. The integrated field quality is discussed in terms of distribution (average and spread) of the field strength and low-order harmonics as obtained for all the main ring magnet families (dipoles, main and matching quadrupoles). The dependence of field quality on coil geometry, magnet and cable manufacturer is analyzed. A projection of the field quality expected for the critical components in the machine is presented. 相似文献

Disruption tolerant network (DTN) is characterized by frequent partitions and intermittent connectivity. Power management issue in such networks is challenging. Existing power management schemes for wireless networks cannot be directly applied to DTNs because they assume the networks are well-connected. Since the network connectivity opportunities are rare, any power management scheme deployed in DTNs should not worsen the existing network connectivity. In this paper, we design a power management scheme called context-aware power management scheme (CAPM) for DTNs. Our CAPM scheme has an adaptive on period feature that allows it to achieve high delivery ratio and low delivery latency when used with Prophet, a recently proposed DTN routing scheme. Via simulations, we evaluate the performance of the CAPM scheme when used with the Prophet routing scheme in different scenarios e.g. different traffic load, node speeds and sleep patterns. Our evaluation results indicate that the CAPM scheme is very promising in providing energy saving (as high as 80%) without degrading much the data delivery performance. 相似文献

该文研究面向电网业务质量保障的5G 高可靠低时延通信(URLLC)的资源调度机制,以高效利用低频段蜂窝通信系统内有限的频谱和功率资源来兼顾电力终端传输速率和调度时延、调度公平性,保障不同电力业务的通信质量(QoS)。首先,基于URLLC的高可靠低时延传输特性,建立电力终端多小区下行传输模型。然后,提出面向系统下行吞吐量最大化的资源分配问题模型并对其进行分步求解,分别提出基于定价机制与非合作博弈的功率分配算法和基于调度时延要求的改进比例公平算法(DPF)动态调度信道资源。仿真结果表明,提出的资源调度方法能在保证一定传输可靠性和公平性的条件下降低电力终端调度时延,满足不同业务等级的QoS需求,与已知算法对比有一定的优越性。 相似文献

The power performance of a four-section MESFET distributed amplifier is predicted over the frequency range 2-8 GHz. The nonlinear model of the MESFET used has three nonlinear elements: g/sub d/, and C/sub gs/, which are represented by power series up to the third order. The analysis employs the Volterra series representation up to the third order. Experimental verification is first made on a 0.5x400-µm medium-power MESFET device to confirm the validity of the nonlinear model used in the analysis. The agreement between predicted and measured output power at 1-dB gain compression is within +-0.5 dBm across the 2-16 GHz band. A four-section distributed amplifier was then built with four 0.5x400-µm MESFET's. The agreement between predicted and measured output power at 1-dB gain compression of this amplifier is within +-0.7 dBm across the 2-8-GHz band. The measured output power at 1-dB gain compression is (22+-1) dBm across the 2-8-GHz band. 相似文献

In 1986 Ansaldo Magnet Dept. (now ASG Superconductors) started, in cooperation with CERN, the design activities of the first 1 m-8 T LHC prototype dipoles. After several design steps and the manufacturing of 1+3 prototype dipoles 10 m long, the final design configuration 15 m long was defined by CERN. During the following years, a very close collaboration with CERN engineers and technicians lead to define the parameters about the most critical manufacturing processes, in particular winding of s.c. cable, collaring of coils, cold mass welding and test procedures. In the meantime, installation and commissioning of all the manufacturing plants followed: winding machines, curing presses, collaring press and welding press were installed, as well as geometrical measurements stations and vacuum chamber for leak test. Finally two manufacturing halls were fully dedicated to LHC dipoles production. At the beginning of year 2002, all the manufacturing plants were coming to be operational, ready to start the large scale production of LHC cold masses: 30 pre-series, 386 series and 30 spare cold masses have been produced till May 2007, to get a total number of 446 cold masses. In this paper we summarize all the data collected during a five years production: main manufacturing data, test results and production rate are presented. Final results about tests performed at CERN in superfluid He at 1.9 K are also included as well as correlation between test result and manufacturing rate. 相似文献
