Preparation of 2'-thio-2'-deoxycytidine 2':3'-phosphorothioate

The synthesis of a novel ribonucleotide analog 2'-thio-2' deoxycytidine 2':3'-O,S-phosphorothioate is described. In the first step, 2,2'-anhydro 1-beta-D-arabinosylcytosine was thiophosphorylated by the action of dithiophosphate, a process which gave predominantly the 3'-O-phosphorothioate isomer. An intramolecular displacement reaction led to the formation of the title compound. Structure and reactivity of this thioanalog differ substantially from 2':3'-CMP.

A white long-lasting phosphor Y2O2S:Tb3+, Sm3+: an improvement of Y2O2S:Tb3+

As an improvement of reported Y202S:Tb3 , a white-light long-lasting phosphor: Y2O2S:Tb3 , Sm3 was prepared by the solid-state reaction. The photo-luminescence spectra showed that the position and shape of Th3 and Sm3 emissions under UV excitation were similar in this host, which ensured a stable white emission color (daylight standard of IEC) under different excitations. The decay curves of co-doped samples indicated that the decay times of emissions of the two ions were close. The thermo-luminescence measurement suggested that the traps created by the doped Sm3 ions were helpful to postpone the white afterglow of co-doped samples. Therefore, thefunction of co-doped Sm3 ions was confirmned as improving the white emission colors of samples and acting as new trap centers.

Phase structure and temperature dependent luminescence properties of Sr2LiSiO4F: Eu2+ and Sr2MgSi2O7: Eu2+ phosphors

Green-emitting Sr2LiSiO4F:Eu2+ and blue-emitting Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ phosphors were synthesized by the conventional high temperature solid-state route,respectively.Their structures and photoluminescenee properties were comparatively investigated.It was found that the mixture phases of Sr2MgSi2O7 and SrF2 were obtained when a part of Sr2+ in Sr2LiSiO4F was replaced by some amount of Mg2+ in order to design the possible SrMgLiSiO4F:Eu2+ phosphor.Based on the photoluminescence analysis,Sr2LiSiO4F:Eu2+ phosphor exhibited a green broad emission band of main peak at 513 nm under the excitation of 365 nm,while the Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+ and SrMgLiSiO4F:Eu2+ phosphor showed blue emission centered at 467 nm.The temperature dependent photoluminescence properties and room temperature decay time for the three kinds of phosphors were also discussed in this paper.

The most important treatments for type 2 diabetes remain weight reduction and physical activity, but an increasing armamentarium of drug therapies has much improved our ability to control blood glucose levels. Each of the known metabolic defects in type 2 diabetes can now be treated by different classes of drugs. Although the side effects of these drug therapies are relatively mild and infrequent, physicians need to be on guard for possible problems. Primary care physicians can manage most patients with type 2 diabetes. Specialists in endocrinology, ophthalmology, and podiatry are valuable resources.
