Temporary corrosion protection for plant construction equipment outside of Central Europe. ?Temporary protection against corrosion”? consists of measures for the prevention of damage to equipment by corrosion within a given limited period of time. Essentially, it consists in the protection of machinery, apparatus, fittings, pipelines, measuring and control equipment etc. against atmospheric corrosion in the time between the fabrication of such equipment by the manufacturer and its assembly or commissioning by the firm who is to run the plant. A guaranteed protection against corrosion for a period of two years and more is not unusual. Apart from corrosion, the equipment is also subject to mechanical wear and tear. Worth mentioning here are wear and tear due to, inter alia: buffering during transport by rail; rolling during transport by ship; bending and knocking during loading and unloading; compression during stacking in ships holds and in wharehouses; vibration during transportation. These, in part, quite considerable mechanical stresses which the equipment is subjected to should be taken into account, on the one hand when constructing and installing the equipment, and, on the other, when protecting the equipment against corrosion and when packing. 相似文献

Wear of automatic pump valves by abrasive suspensions . In pumping of abrasive suspensions with reciprocating displacement pumps against high pressures, the pump valves prove to be subject to serious wear. Wear of the piston seal can usually be avoided by washing or by separating membranes. Pump valves are fitted with elastic or rigid seals. To resist corrosion and temperature effects, frequently the only possible approach is to finish them in metallic or carbide materials. The major kinds of wear are demonstrated by a tribological study. The rates of wear found for a real valve model with a high pressure experimental setup depend upon the pressure and frequency of reciprocation. A hardness-dependent region of instability exists where wear scoring arises. The volume wear rate for various arrangements of materials and abrasive particles exhibits a crest/trough nature. A design strategy and construction aspects are considered and compared with practical experience. 相似文献

Increased wear on radial lip seal systems is observed when sealing modern lubricants, such as polyglycols and esters. This can impair the function of the sealing system and ultimately lead to leakage. This work, carried out within the AiF research project “Welleneinlauf” (wear of counter faces) [1], shows methods to identify and predict excessive wear of radial lip sealing systems based on their wetting properties and pumping rate. The knowledge gained will support users by providing faster and more cost-effective testing methods early in the design process, thus enables a significant increase in the service life of radial lip sealing systems. 相似文献
