AbstractOnly one retrospective of Yves Klein was presented during the artist’s lifetime, in 1961 at Museum Haus Lange, a gallery in the city of Krefeld, Germany, housed in a little-known brick villa designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1927. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how Klein challenged the limits of the exhibition, transforming it into a privileged space for the nascent utopian discourse of 1960s European architecture. The exhibition’s intense dialogue with the interior and exterior spaces of the Miesian villa afforded an opportunity to test ideas that would have been difficult to accommodate in other circumstances. Klein sought to insert visitors without any notice or warning into a dramatic environment that was the only physical manifestation of his theory of Air Architecture. 相似文献

Artistic director and choreographer of the Ballett Frankfurt, and himself trained in ballet, Forsythe shows an appreciation of and often a critical engagement with classical dance, transforming and revitalising it. In his Fun Palace project, Price turned not to traditional architecture or fantasy but to the discourses and theories of his own time, such as the emerging sciences of cybernetics, information technology, and game theory, as well as Situationism and theater, to develop a radically new concept of improvisational architecture capable of negotiating the uncertain social terrain of postwar Britain. As socially interactive architecture, the Fun Palace integrated concepts of technological interchangeability with social participation and improvisation as innovative and egalitarian alternatives to traditional free time and education, giving back to the working classes a sense of agency and creativity. The three-dimensional structure of the Fun Palace was the operative space-time matrix of a virtual architecture. The variable "program" and form of the Fun Palace were not conventional architecture but much closer to what we understand today as the computer program: an array of algorithmic functions and logical gateways that control temporal events and processes in a virtual device. 相似文献
