The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different surface treatments and different restoration materials on repair bond strength of ormocer and nanoceramic based composites. 24 (12 Admira, Voco, 12 Ceram X duo, Dentsply) thermally aged blocks (6 × 6 × 5 mm) were roughened with either bur, Er:YAG or Nd:YAG laser. In each group half of the roughened samples were repaired with composite of their respective brand; other half was repaired with composite of the other brand. All samples were subjected to microtensile bond strength test. Data were analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis and Bonferroni correction, Mann-Whitney U test (p = 0.05). For roughening methods no significant difference was found between Bur-Er:YAG (p = 0.536), however between the other groups (Bur-Nd:YAG and Er:YAG-Nd:YAG) significant difference were found (p < 0.001). For Admira as a filler material, no significant differences were found for bur, Er:YAG, Nd:YAG groups based on repair materials. For Ceram X duo as a filler material, while no significant differences were found for bur and Er:YAG groups; a significant difference was found for Nd:YAG group based on repair materials. A weak significant difference was found between the repair composite groups undergone thermocycling or not (p = 0.04). Surface roughening with Er:YAG laser can be used clinically for the repair of aged composite restorations.  相似文献

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of cavity preparation method (Er:YAG laser or diamond bur) and bulk-filled composite material type on marginal adaptation mesial occlusal (MO) class II cavities. Materials and Methods: Two-surface box cavities (4-mm proximal depth and 5-mm occlusal width) were prepared on 60 human mandibular molar teeth. Cavities were prepared using Er:YAG laser or diamond burs in an air-turbine hand-piece. All cavities were applied Single Bond Universal dentin bonding agent. The cavities were further subdivided into three subgroups according to the restorative material used; two bulk-filled composites [Filtek Bulk Fill Posterior (3M ESPE) and SonicFill 2 (Kerr)] and one traditional composite material Filtek Ultimate Universal Restorative (3M ESPE). Restorations were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy at ×200 magnification for their adaptation to the approximal margins of the tooth. Results were analyzed using the two-way ANOVA and Tukey Post Hoc Test (p < 0.05). Results: A total of 900 SEM figures were obtained from all groups. Filtek Bulk Fill Posterior, SonicFill 2, and Filtek Ultimate Universal Restorative exhibited statistically similar gapped margins. However, the lowest scores of gapped margins were observed with SonicFill 2 (4.22%). Conclusions: Completely gap-free margins were not obtained with any of the tested materials. Bulk-fill composite materials showed similar marginal adapatation compared with standard composite. Marginal adaptation of Er:YAG laser prepared cavities was more irregular and had more gaps, but was statistically similar to diamond bur-prepared cavities.  相似文献

To assess the effect of Er:YAG and diode lasers on the shear bond strength (SBS) of adhesive systems to bovine dentin submitted to bleaching with a high concentration agent. One hundred and twenty bovine dentin fragments were used. Fragments were distributed into 12 groups (n = 10) considering the bleaching (present or not), surface post-treatment (untreated, Er:YAG laser or diode laser) and adhesive system (total-etching or self-etching). Specimens received two applications of 38% hydrogen peroxide. Er:YAG laser (2940 nm, 200 mJ, 4 Hz) and diode laser (980 nm, 1.5 W) were applied for 15 s on bleached dentin surface. Restoration was performed with resin using split matrix. Specimens were submitted to SBS test and data (MPa) were analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey’s test (α = 0.05). SBS of bleached specimens decreased in comparison with non-bleached (p < 0.05). The highest values were obtained for the post-treatment with Er:YAG laser (p < 0.05). Total-etching adhesive was superior to self-etching system (p < 0.05). The irradiation of bleached dentin with Er:YAG laser followed by the application of the total-etching adhesive had similar SBS to unbleached dentin with no post-treatment (control) (p > 0.05). Er:YAG laser post-treatment followed by the total-etching adhesive system improve the bond strength of restorative material to bleached dentin.  相似文献

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different caries removal techniques on the bond strength of two adhesive systems. Materials and Methods: Seventy human molar teeth that had proximal carious lesions were randomly divided into four groups according to the technique used to remove the caries: a conventional steel bur, an Er:YAG laser, a chemomechanical Carisolv® gel, and air polishing. The groups were then divided into two subgroups according to the adhesives used: Clearfil S3 (Kuraray Co., Ltd, Tokyo, Japan) and Adper SE Plus (3 M ESPE, St Paul, MN, USA). The enamel and superficial dentin of the crown was flattened and caries were removed using different methods. Teeth were restored with composite and three 1 mm2 stick-shaped microtensile specimens were prepared from each tooth. For each removal technique, the surface roughness of one dentin sample was analyzed using atomic force microscopy (AFM). The microtensile bond strength data were then analyzed using a two-way ANOVA, Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney U tests, and multiple comparison tests (p = 0.05). Results: The two-way ANOVA showed that the effects of the cavity preparation techniques and adhesive systems and their interaction were statistically significant (p < 0.05). The μTBS values were highest when bonding with Adper SE Plus to cavities prepared with the steel bur (37.20 ± 11.65 MPa) and lowest when bonding with Clearfil S3 Bond to cavities prepared with the Er:YAG laser (16.74 ± 6.95 MPa). Conclusion: The caries removal techniques affected the bond strength values of the self-etch adhesive systems.  相似文献

The aim of this in vitro study is to investigate the effects of ozone and conventional cavity disinfectant on microleakage at the cavities which are restorated with different restorative materials. Ninety human molar teeth were used in this study. Black V cavities are prepared on buccal surfaces of teeth. Teeth are divided to 3 groups which contains 30 teeth. Group 1: ozone applied; Group 2: 2% chlorhexidine applied; Group 3: any disinfectant is not applied. And then all groups are divided to three subgroups. All subgroups are restored with silorane, ormocer, and traditional composite according to the manufacturer’s directions. Sections were examined under a microscope. Occlusal and gingival microleakage values by a separate researcher and scores were recorded. Statistically results were reviewed with ANOVA and Kruskal–Wallis Tests. Statistically significant difference of microleakage between cavity disinfectant and control groups’ occlusal and gingival lines was not found (p > 0.05). There was no differences at occlusal lines of composite subgroups (p > 0.05) but also significant difference at gingival lines was found (p < 0.05). Statistically significant difference was found among the composite materials, between chlorhexidine and control groups’ gingival lines. The most successful results at gingival lines were found with silorane.  相似文献

This study evaluated the long-term microleakage of access cavities conditioned with phosphoric acid and deproteinizing agents for root-canal-treated teeth using fluid filtration and microscopical analysis. Occlusal surfaces of extracted human mandibular premolars (N = 90) were removed leaving a 4 mm coronal length from the cemento-enamel junction. After root canal treatment, the specimens were randomly divided into four experimental groups (n = 21) and the remaining teeth were used for positive control group (n = 6): SB: 35% H3PO4 + Adper Single Bond 2; SSB: 35% H3PO4 + 5.25% NaOCl + 10% Sodium ascorbate (C6H7NaO6) + Adper Single Bond 2; XP: 35% H3PO4+XP Bond; SXP: 35% H3PO4+5.25% NaOCl + 10% Sodium ascorbate + XP Bond. All cavities were restored with a resin composite (Filtek Z250). After removing the root filling from the apical side, teeth were subjected to fluid filtration test for 1 week, 6 and 12 months followed by ×2500 thermocycling after 1st week and 6th months each. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Dunnet T3 tests (α = 0.05). SEM analyses were carried out after each microleakage evaluation in two random teeth from all groups. Microleakage values in groups SB and XP presented no significant difference in any of the evaluated period (p > 0.05). Microleakage results of SXP (0.01665) group showed significant difference compared to XP (0.03377) and SB (0.03049) groups after 12 months. SSB group (0.00901) showed significantly less microleakage among all other groups (0.01665–0.03377) (p < 0.05). Prior to endodontic treatment, in access cavities, acid etching with 35% H3PO4 followed by the application of NaOCl and sodium ascorbate completely destroyed the collagen layer, reducing the microleakage and resin–dentin interface degradation up to 12 months.  相似文献

The bonding of resin cement to ceramic materials plays an important role in dentistry. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of various surface treatments on the shear bond strength (SBS) of zirconia ceramic and metal alloy. A total of 60 specimens were prepared from Y-TZP ceramic and metal alloy. The specimens were divided into three subgroups (n = 10) that received different surface treatments for each material. An Er:YAG laser (ER), a femtosecond laser (FS), and air-borne particle abrasion (A) were employed as surface treatments. One specimen from each group was analyzed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) at 500 x magnification after surface treatments. The self-adhesive resin cement was then bonded to the treated surfaces using a Teflon mold. The specimens were thermocycled for 5,000 cycles at 5–55 °C, and then the SBS test was performed. Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney U tests were used to determine the differences between the groups (p = 0.05), and failure modes were evaluated for each specimen. Statistical analyses revealed significant differences between the surface treatment methods. The mean SBS values of the air-borne particle-abraded groups were higher than those of the other groups. The femtosecond-irradiated groups of each material showed significantly higher SBS values than the Er:YAG-irradiated groups (p < 0.05). Within the limitations of this study, air-borne particle abrasion and the femtosecond laser were more effective than Er:YAG laser treatment.  相似文献

To investigate the effects of Nd:YAG laser and 17% EDTA treatment on root-dentin mineral content using scanning electron microscope–energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM–EDX) and on shear-bond strength of epoxy-resin-based sealer (AH Plus) to root dentin. Twelve extracted premolars were decoronated and roots were sectioned, so that 24 two-root halves were obtained. Element levels of each half were examined by SEM/EDX, and AH Plus build-ups were created. After shear-testing, the test surfaces were reground and subjected to a 5.25% NaOCl. Two subgroups were created according to the surface treatment (n = 12): G1, with 17% EDTA for 5 min; G2, with the Nd:YAG laser. The element level analysis and shear-bond strength test were repeated for each half; the data were recorded (MPa) and analyzed (paired samples t-test). The EDTA treatment increased the O, C, Ca/P ratio (p < 0.001), decreased Ca, P content (p = 0.000), but did not change Na, Mg content (p > 0.05). The Nd:YAG laser increased O, Ca/P ratio (p < 0.001), and decreased the Ca, P content (p = 0.000). The C, Mg, Na content did not change with the Nd:YAG laser (p > 0.05). Both 17% EDTA and Nd:YAG laser had an effect on the mineral content of roots. The 17% EDTA treatment decreased the shear-bond strength of AH Plus to root dentin (p = 0.000); however, the Nd:YAG laser did not affect the bond strength (p = 0.238). Thus, an Nd:YAG laser can be used for disinfection of the root canal when AH Plus is used as a sealer.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different surface pretreatment methods on the bond strength of veneering resin to polyetheretherketone (PEEK) based aesthetic frameworks. Five hundred and forty PEEK disks were fabricated and divided into 6 pretreatment groups (n = 90); (C) untreated control group, (B) airborne-particle abrasion, (S) silica coating, (L) etching with Er:YAG (erbium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet) laser, (LB) etching with Er:YAG laser and airborne-particle abrasion and (LS) etching with Er:YAG laser and silica coating. After topographical surface examinations, specimens were conditioned with adhesive and veneering resin was polymerized onto the PEEK specimens. Twenty-four hours after veneering, specimens were subjected to thermal aging. Afterwards, shear bond strength (SBS) tests were performed and the obtained data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Tukey test at a significance level of α = .05. Group B (1.58 ± 0.15 μm), Group L (1.79 ± 0.29 μm), Group LB (2.20 ± 0.23 μm) and Group LS (2.31 ± 0.52 μm) demonstrated significantly higher surface roughness (SR) values compared to Group C (1.03 ± 0.11 μm). Group B (10.97 ± 2.88 MPa), Group S (12.07 ± 2.82 MPa), Group LB (12.09 ± 2.08 MPa) and Group LS (13.14 ± 1.45 MPa) demonstrated significantly higher SBS values compared to Group C (6.35 ± 1.21 MPa). Airborne-particle abrasion, silica coating or their combined use with Er:YAG laser system establish durable bond between PEEK and resin; however, only Er:YAG laser treatment has no positive effect on resin-PEEK bond.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effect of surface conditioning methods and adhesive systems on the repair bond strength of resin composites. Specimens (FLS: Filtek LS) (N = 144) were prepared using a silicone matrix. The specimens were stored in distilled water and then were randomly divided into the twelve groups (n = 12) according to the surface conditioning method (unground or diamond bur) and adhesive system (no adhesive, LS: Filtek LS, AS: Adper Scotchbond SE Plus) and resin composite (FLS: Filtek LS; FS: Filtek Supreme). The specimens were fixed in an hourglass-shaped silicone matrix and the other half of the specimen was restored. Hourglass-shaped specimens (n = 12) were used as positive control to measure the cohesive strength of the resin composite (Filtek LS). Microtensile bond test was performed (0.5 mm/min) and failure types were analyzed. Data were analyzed using two-way analysis of variance, Tukey’s and Dunnett’s tests (α = 0.05). Adhesive protocol and resin composite significantly affected the results (p < 0.05). For the FS composite, the highest results were obtained using LS adhesive with (18.4 ± 7.7) and without (18.8 ± 4.8) bur roughening. For FLS composite, the highest results were obtained using AS adhesive with (33.2 ± 7.1) and without (25.7 ± 3.6) bur roughening. Without the use of adhesive resin, significantly lower bond strength results were observed with both LS (5 ± 2.1, 4.5 ± 1.5) and FLS (2.2 ± 1.2, 4.4 ± 1.1) for unground and diamond bur roughened groups, respectively (p < 0.0001). Cohesive strength of the FLS (52.3 ± 7.6) was significantly higher than any of the repaired groups (p < 0.0001). FS–LS combination and the groups repaired without adhesive presented more adhesive (Type I) failures.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the bond strength of a universal adhesive system to dentin prepared with SiC paper or an Er,Cr:YSGG laser using different bonding strategies (etch-and-rinse versus self-etch mode). Ninety-six extracted caries-free, sound human molars were used. The teeth were longitudinally sectioned in the mesiodistal direction and were wet polished with 600-grit SiC paper to obtain a standardized flat dentin surface. All prepared teeth were randomly divided into two groups, according to the surface preparation method: GroupI:an erbium, chromium:yttrium,scandium, gallium, garnet laser; Group II: silicon carbide paper[SiC] (n = 48). Each group was then assigned into three subgroups according to the universal adhesive’s (Single Bond Universal) bonding strategies: (a) etch-and-rinse mode with phosphoric acid, (b) etch-and-rinse mode with a laser, (c) self-etch mode (n = 16). For surface preparation, the Er,Cr:YSGG laser was used at 3 W, 30 Hz with 140 μs pulse duration for 25 s. For etching mode, the laser was used at 1.5 W (60% air, 70% water). Cylinders of composite were fabricated on the bonding area and shear bond strength was determined using a universal testing machine. Failure modes were evaluated using a stereomicroscope. The data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA followed by the Bonferroni test (p < 0.05). Bonding strategies showed statistically significant differences in both the SiC-and laser-prepared groups (p < 0.05).Universal adhesive used in etch-and-rinse mode with acid showed significantly higher bond strength values than in self-etch mode (p < 0.05). The bond strength values did not differ according to the surface preparation method (p > 0.05). Irrespective of preparation method, using universal adhesive in etch-and-rinse mode with acid might improve dentin bond strength. Laser preparation did not affect the bond strength of the universal adhesive tested.  相似文献

Purpose: To examine microleakage around Class-V restorations bonded with 3 current all-in-one adhesive systems in the presence or absence of surface-sealant in different evaluation groups.

Materials and Methods: Clearfil S3 Bond, G-Aenial Bond, and Optibond All-in-One (AiO), were used in the Class-V cavities in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions (control group) or were additionally combined with Fortify Plus surface-sealant (surface-sealant group). The two main treatment groups of the dentin adhesives were subdivided into four different evaluation groups (24 h, 6 months, 12 months, and 12 months with two applications); the teeth were immersed in 0.5% methylene blue dye solution for 24 h. Samples were then sectioned longitudinally in a bucco-lingual direction and evaluated for microleakage under a stereomicroscope. Dye penetration was scored at the enamel (occlusal) and dentin (gingival) margins.

Results: Microleakage scores were greater at the dentin margins compared with the enamel margins for Clearfil S3 Bond in all evaluation groups, whereas no difference was observed between enamel and dentin microleakage for Optibond AiO. Using Fortify Plus in the enamel margins decreased the microleakage scores of Clearfil S3 Bond. When the control and surface-sealant groups were compared in the G-Aenial Bond enamel margins, the application of surface-sealant significantly reduced microleakage after 6 and 12 months. For Optibond AiO, no statistically significant differences in enamel and dentin margins were observed between the control and surface-sealant application groups.

Conclusion: The application of surface-sealant could be considered appropriate for reducing microleakage in composite resin restorations, but this effect might depend on the dentin adhesive.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of different in-office bleaching techniques and acid/laser etching on bond strength of orthodontic brackets. Ninety-six extracted human premolar teeth were used in the study. The teeth were randomly divided into four groups according to different in-office bleaching techniques (n = 24); Group I: Diode laser-assisted bleaching, Group II: Er:YAG laser-assisted bleaching, Group III: In-office bleaching with LED, Group IV: Unbleached (control). After the samples were kept in artificial saliva for 2 weeks, each group were randomly divided into 2 subgroups according to etching methods; aacid etching; blaser etching. For laser etching Er,Cr:YSGG laser was used at 1.5 W, 15 Hz with 140 μs pulse duration for 20 s. For acid etching, 37% phosphoric acid was used for 30 s. The shear bond strength testing was performed using Instron Testing Machine with a crosshead speed of 1mm/min. Adhesive Remnant Index (ARI) scores were also measured. Data was analyzed using two-way ANOVA, Bonferroni, Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U tests (p < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found between bleaching groups and control (p > 0.05). There were statistically significant differences between acid and laser etching within each group (p < 0.05). Acid etching caused significantly higher bond strength values (p < 0.05). While no statistically significant differences were observed between the ARI scores of bleaching and control groups (p > 0.05), acid etching caused statistically higher ARI scores than laser etching groups (p < 0.05). In conclusion in-office bleaching either with LED or laser before bracket bonding did not affect bond strength. Prior to bracket bonding, acid etching of enamel caused higher shear bond strength values than laser etching.  相似文献

This study compared the adhesion of metal brackets bonded to different CAD/CAM materials after various surface conditioning methods. CAD/CAM blocks (N = 204, n = 17 per group) of (a) VITA Mark II (VM), (b) IPS e.max CAD (IP), (c) Lava Ultimate (LU), and (d) VITA ENAMIC (VE) were conditioned with one of the following methods: C-Control: (fine diamond bur); CJ: (fine diamond bur + air-abrasion with 30 μm SiO2 + silane), and HF: (fine diamond bur +9.5% hydrofluoric acid + silane). Metal brackets were bonded to the conditioned surfaces of the specimens, stored in artificial saliva for 24 h at 37 °C and thermocycled (×1000). Subsequently, the brackets were debonded under shear in a Universal Testing Machine (1 mm/min). Failure types were analyzed under scanning electron microscope. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Tukey’s tests (α = 0.05). Two-parameter Weibull distribution values, including the Weibull modulus, scale, and shape, were calculated. Mean bond strength (MPa) values were significantly affected by the surface conditioning method (p < 0.001) but not the CAD/CAM material type (p = 0.052). Bond strengths for all CJ and HF-conditioned specimens were twofold higher (11.83 ± 1.95 ? 9.44 ± 1.63) than those for control specimens with all materials (4.73 ± 0.93 ? 6.02 ± 0.69). Lower mean values were obtained in LU-CJ (9.78 ± 1.61) and LU-HF (9.44 ± 1.63) than those for other groups (11.83 ± 1.95 ? 10.93 ± 1.33) groups (p < 0.05). Weibull distribution showed higher shape values for VM-CJ (11.26) and VM-HF (8.87) than those for other groups (0.82–1.83). In control groups, exclusively adhesive and after conditioning mainly mixed failures were observed. Chairside silica coating or HF conditioning significantly improved metal bracket adhesion to both glassy matrix and hybrid CAD/CAM materials tested, with the most reliable adhesion being observed for feldspathic ceramic.  相似文献

The effect of various post materials luted with different resin luting cements on microleakage in root canals was studied in the present study. Sixty carious and crack-free premolars were prepared using a step-back technique and obturated with gutta-percha. The roots were randomly divided into six groups (n = 10). Two different post types, glass fiber reinforced posts and zirconium posts (ZP), were cemented three different resin adhesive cements (Panavia F 2.0, Smartcem 2, and Variolink II) in the root canals. All specimens were thermal cycled and stored in the methylene blue solution for one week. The roots were sectioned horizontally into three sections: apical, middle, and coronal. The occlusal direction of each section was digitally photographed under a stereomicroscope. Dye penetration area was calculated as the methylene blue-infiltrated surface divided by total dentin area. After the two-way Anova test results, Tukey HSD and Bonferroni tests were used for multiple comparisons. According to the test results, ZP luted with Panavia F showed the best microleakage results and glass fiber posts luted with smartcem 2 showed the most unsuccessful microleakage results (p = 0.146).  相似文献

Aim: The aim was to compare the microleakage of resin composite bonded with different adhesive systems in class-II cavities at enamel or dentine margins. Material and methods: 60 extracted human molar teeth received slot cavity preparations on mesial and distal surfaces (mesial cervical margin was prepared in enamel and distal in dentine). They were randomly divided into five groups (n?=?12) according to the adhesive system: Group-A: Silorane Bond (S), Group-B: Adper Single Bond 2 (SB), Group-C: Clearfil SE Bond (CSE), Group-D: Single Bond Universal (USel) (selective etch-and-rinse), Group-E: Single Bond Universal (USE) (all-in-one). The preparations were restored using the same resin composite (Filtek Ultimate) except Group A which was restored by Silorane composite. The teeth were thermocycled, immersed in dye, sectioned, and dye penetration was evaluated quantitatively using image analysis. The data were analyzed using the two-way analysis of variance and Bonferroni test. Results: In all groups, there was no statistically significant difference between enamel margins at occlusal and gingival sites (p?>?0.05). The statistical difference between Group-A (S) and Group-B (SB) was significant at all margins. Group-B (SB) presented the greatest microleakage amounts at all margins and the highest scores were obtained in the dentine. Likewise, SB demonstrated statistically significant differences between dentine and enamel margins (occlusal and gingival)(p?<?0.05). Conclusion: All adhesive systems showed similar microleakage values between enamel margins in occlusal and gingival regions. However, when the gingival margin is located in the dentine, etch&rinse adhesive systems may not be a choice in terms of microleakage prevention.  相似文献

ObjectivesThis study investigated the repairs of resin composite restorations after using different surface treatments.DesignEighty four truncated cones of Filtek Z350 were prepared and thermo-cycled (20,000 cycles). Surfaces were roughened with diamond bur and etched with 37% phosphoric acid. Those cones were divided into 7 groups (N=12): 1) Prime&Bond 2.1; 2) aluminum oxide sandblasting+Prime&Bond 2.1; 3) Er:YAG laser treatment+Prime&Bond 2.1; 4) 9.6% hydrofluoric acid for 2 min+silane coupling agent.; 5) silane coupling agent; 6) auto-polymerized acrylic monomer+Prime&Bond 2.1; 7) Adper Scothbond SE. Teflon device was used to fabricate inverted truncated cones of repair composite over the surface-treated. The bonded specimens were stressed to failure under tension. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of various surface treatments on the bond strength of veneering feldspathic porcelain to zirconia. Methods: Fifty yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline specimens were divided into five groups (n = 10) according to various surface treatments. The groups were as follows: Group 1: control group with liner application and no further surface treatment; Group 2: air-particle abrasion with 110 μm of alumina (Al2O3) particles; Group 3: grinding with a diamond disk; Group 4: Nd:YAG laser irradiation (the laser and the energy parameters were 10 Hz, and 2 W and 200 mJ, and the pulse duration (short pulse) range was up to 180 μs); Group 5: selective infiltration etching (SIE). After surface treatments, a liner application was performed for all surfaces according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Veneering porcelain was applied on zirconia surfaces using a Teflon mold. Shear bond strength was tested using a universal testing machine. The fractured surface morphologies were examined with scanning electron microscopy. The data were statistically analyzed using Mann–Whitney U and Kruskal–Wallis tests (α = .05). Results: The Megapascal values of the bonding groups were as follows: G1 = 8.62 ± 1.12, G2 = 13.87 ± 5.08, G3 = 12.31 ± 3.35, G4 = 17.32 ± 6.16, and G5 = 16.17 ± 4.55. Statistically significant differences were observed between the control group and the other groups (p < 0.05). Group 4 had the highest bond strength while G1 showed the lowest bond strength. No significant differences were found between the Nd:YAG, grinding, sandblasting, and SIE groups. Conclusion: Surface treatments had different effects on the shear bond strength of feldspathic porcelain to zirconia. Surface treatment techniques used in this study can be used on zirconia specimens prior to liner application to obtain an acceptable bond strength of veneering porcelain to zirconia. The effect of Nd:YAG laser irradiation and SIE techniques on bond strength of veneering ceramic to zirconia should be evaluated with further studies.  相似文献

This study evaluated the influence of Er,Cr:YSGG laser surface conditioning on push-out bond strength of different root posts to the root dentin. Extracted (N = 27, n = 9 per group) and endodontically treated human mandibular premolars were prepared to receive the posts. Three types of posts, namely quartz fiber (D), glass fiber (S), and zirconium dioxide post (C) were luted with resin cement. The posts were randomly assigned to one of the surface conditioning method: (a) No conditioning, control (L0), (b) Er,Cr:YSGG laser at 175 mJ, 3.5 W for 60 s (L1), and (c) at 225 mJ, 4.5 W for 60 s, with 60 μs pulse duration and repetition rate was 20 Hz (L2) irradiation. Six sections (two coronal, two middle, and two apical) were made in each tooth yielding to 1 mm thick specimens. The specimens were stored in distilled water at 37?°C for 24 h and push-out bond strength (MPa) was tested in a Universal Testing Machine (1 mm/min). Data were analyzed using Kruskall–Wallis and Dunns`s post hoc tests (α = 0.05). In group D, both laser treated groups (L1:16.16 ± 19.89; L2:8.24 ± 9.26) presented significantly less bond strength compared to control group (L0:28.3 ± 16.8) (p < 0.001). Mean push-out bond strength values did not significantly differ according to the root segments (coronal, middle, and apical) (p = 0.106). Application of Er,Cr:YSGG laser, with the parameters tested, did not increase the bond strength of zirconium glass fiber and zirconium oxide posts. Laser surface conditioning decreased the bond strength of quartz fiber posts in the root canal.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effect of chlorhexidine (CLX) in cavities prepared with either ultrasound-mounted CVDentUS diamond tips or conventional diamond burs on dentin bond strength after 24 h and 180 days. Forty-eight dentin surfaces from sound third molars were flattened and divided into four groups (n = 12), according to the type of cavity preparation (CVDentUS ultrasound tip or conventional diamond) and with or without 2% CLX (Consepsis) treatment. After application of the adhesive system (Clearfil SE Bond), microhybrid composite resin blocks (Charisma) were made on the dentin surface in increments. After 24 h, the specimens were sectioned into stick-shaped samples with an adhesive interface of approximately 1 mm2. From each tooth, half of the sticks were evaluated after 24 h of storage in distilled water and the other half after 180 days, using a universal testing machine. Three-way analysis of variance showed no significant triple interactions (p = 0.722) or double interactions between factors. Higher bond strength values were observed with the use of ultrasonic tips (p = 0.019), irrespective of whether or not CLX was applied in either time period. No difference in bond strength values was observed in terms of CLX application (p = 0.581). No significant difference in bond strength values was shown after storage for 24 h or 180 days (p = 0.302). In conclusion, the ultrasonic tips promoted greater bond strength to dentin, irrespective of whether or not CLX was applied, and storage time.  相似文献
