A multizone model of smelting developed at the Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy for blast furnace 9 at OAO ArcelorMittal Krivoi Rog and furnace 5 at OAO Severstal’ is used to analyze smelting with variation in the content of reduced iron in the batch and the batch distribution over the furnace radius. The Darcy-Weisbach equation is widely used as model of gas motion in the blast furnace, but it was derived for very different conditions. Its use in describing the gas dynamics of blast furnaces distorts the actual gas motion. Much more precise and useful results are obtained on the basis of the molecular-kinetic theory of gases-specifically, by means of the Clapeyron equation of state of an ideal gas.  相似文献

Using an information and simulation system, the smelting characteristics and processes in blast furnace 9 at OAO ArcelorMittal Krivoi Rog are analytically studied. The characteristics are predicted with variation in the charging parameters so as to reduce coke consumption. The operation of blast furnaces with different coke-nut consumption and coke quality is investigated, with the goal of assessing the effectiveness of coke nuts in blast-furnace smelting. The coke consumption is investigated as function of the coke-nut consumption and the coke wear M 10. Uniform blast-furnace operation is possible when the coke-nut consumption is no more than 20 kg/t, with satisfactory coke quality (M 10 must be no more than 9.0%). The mean the mean rate of replacement of coke by coke nuts is 0.67 kg/kg of nuts.  相似文献
