We used the sessile drop method to study the temperature and concentration dependences of the density and surface tension of melts in the manganese – tin system. The density polytherms are linear dependences which are consistent with those calculated by the additivity rule for the specific volumes of the pure components. The temperature dependences of the surface tension are also linear and their temperature coefficient changes from negative values for tin-rich melts to positive values for melts with high manganese content. The surface tension isotherm is satisfactorily described by the Popel-Pavlov equation. We calculated the composition of the surface layer of the studied melts as a function of the composition of the bulk phase. We have shown that the model for the surface layer of melts in the Mn – Sn system at 1300°C is close to monolayer. 相似文献

The density and surface tension of liquid Fe-Mn alloys were determined by using the sessile drop method at 1823 K (1550 °C).
The density of liquid Fe-Mn alloys decreased with increasing Mn content. When the molar volume was plotted with respect to
the mole fraction of Mn, a linear relationship was obtained. Consequently, it was found that there is no excess volume in
liquid Fe-Mn alloy. The surface tension of liquid Fe-Mn alloys was found to decrease with increasing Mn content. The current
experimental data were higher than the reported results but close to the calculated results using Butler’s equation. 相似文献

The surface-tension polytherms are fitted to equations with negative temperature coefficients for straight lines. The concentration dependence of the surface tension passes through a minimum. Bulk samples (dia. = 20 mm) of various nanocrystalline (nc) Al-Pb alloys with Pb content varying from 1 to 4 at. pct are fabricated using spark plasma sintering of ball-milled powders. Al matrix in Al-2 at. pct Pb alloy had a grain size of 53 nm, and Pb particle size was 6 ± 2 nm. High angle annular dark-field image obtained in STEM mode of TEM indicates the presence of Pb along the nc Al grain boundaries as well as dispersion of smaller Pb particles in the intra-granular regions. Hardness studies are carried out using microindentation and nanoindentation with load varying over three orders of magnitude (100 ? 0.1 g). Microindentation yielded slightly smaller hardness values in comparison to nanoindentation possibly because of indentation size effect. Nevertheless both microindentation and nanoindentation resulted in the same trend of hardness for various nc Al-Pb alloys. Hardness of Al-Pb alloys increased with increase in Pb content up to the additions of 2 at. pct Pb, beyond that the hardness is decreased for higher Pb additions of 3 and 4 pct. The initial hardening behavior is explained based on the Orowan particle strengthening. Strain rate sensitivity (SRS) has increased with increase in Pb content reaching a value of 0.1 for Al-4 at. pct Pb alloy. Activation volumes measured are between 2.84 and 6.15 b 3. Higher SRS and lower activation volume suggest that grain boundary-mediated processes are controlling the deformation characteristics. 相似文献

The surface and bulk properties of Ce-5% La were studied with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively.The XRD analysis shows that cerium in bulk is in γ-phase, and its lattice parameter is 0.516 nm.And we also find Ce2O3 in the bulk from the XRD figure but no existence of metal lanthanum because of its small quantity.The XPS analysis shows that there are always oxides existing in the surface.The O1s peak always exists at the binding energy of 530.3 eV, which may be attributed to Ce2O3 and La2O3, but no evidence was found for the existence of CeO2.It is concluded that there is a thick layer of Ce2O3 on the sample surface.And the Ce3d peak show multi-split in the figure, in which there are two peaks in each region, 3d5/2 and 3d3/2, and the binding energy of these peaks are 882.86, 887.70 eV for 3d5/2, and 901.44, 905.93 eV for 3d3/2.The special phenomena can be attributed to the changes of 4f electronic configuration, and the cerium in the sample exhibits properties similar to Ce2O3.But the influence of the addition of lanthanum to cerium is not visible, and further investigations are expected. 相似文献

以1420铝锂合金为研究对象,通过拉伸力学性能测试和拉伸断口形貌观察比较全面地研究了板材力学性能的各向异性水平及其表现规律,并探讨了各向异性在时效过程中的演化及产生各向异性的主要因素。研究结果表明:该1420铝锂合金的力学性能具有明显的各向异性;屈服强度与抗拉强度各向异性的表现规律有所不同;在达到峰时效之前,随着时效时间的延长,合金力学性能的各向异性在增加,而增幅在减小。合金力学性能的平面各向异性主要源于其晶体学织构、晶粒形貌和时效析出相等的交互作用。 相似文献
