对多层介质膜光栅以及介质膜反射镜的激光损伤阈值进行了系统的研究。测试方法采用国际测试标准。测试结果表明,介质光栅的损伤阈值远低于未刻蚀的多层介质膜。对样品损伤形貌的扫描电镜照片分析发现,相比于未刻蚀的多层介质膜,介质膜光栅的初始损伤主要发生在光栅槽形的侧壁,且损伤主要是由驻波场的空间分布引起的本征吸收、制备过程中引入的杂质污染以及刻蚀过程中HfO2的化学计量机失衡引起的。  相似文献

应用周期边界条件建立了分析介质周期结构散射问题的有限元格式。求解域仅为周期结构的一个栅单元尺寸。分析计算了位相型透射光栅的衍射效率,栅单元结构分别为矩形和直角三角形。由于有限元方法的离散网格可以很好地匹配介质边界,该方法可以分析任意栅单元截面形状的介质栅形结构。  相似文献

Propagation of a plane electromagnetic wave through a multilayer frequency-selective dielectric structure with biperiodic metallization of two interfaces is considered. A method is proposed for calculation of the reflection and transmission coefficients of the structure. Computation results are presented for a structure with gratings consisting of metal rings. The effects of longitudinal and transverse shifts of gratings on the electrodynamic characteristics of the frequency-selective structure are studied. The computation results are compared to experimental data obtained in the microwave band.  相似文献

The microstrip loaded inset dielectric waveguide has been proposed as a transmission medium alternative to microstrip, and as a useful antenna medium at X-band and millimetric frequencies. In the present analysis we consider the case where a multi-layer, multi-conductor microstrip circuit may be housed within inset dielectric waveguide. A generalised transverse resonance diffraction method is developed in the space domain for analyzing such structures. Experimental and theoretical results for the propagation characteristics of the fundamental and first higher order mode of a few different configurations are presented showing good agreement  相似文献

A general and effective method is presented to solve the eigenvalue problem of a circular multilayar dielectric waveguide. And the transmission characteristics for different kinds of fiber gratings are calculated with rigorous vector mode matching procedure. This general method is applied to a detailed investigation on the phenomenon of mode coupling between cladding-mode and core mode to that less attention is paid in the literature. Our numerical results show that the present method is simple and effective.  相似文献

The theory of scattering matrices and microwave network analysis is used to solve the problem of scattering from cascaded infinite periodic gratings. The total reflection and transmission coefficients are calculated as functions of angle of incidence, wire spacing for each grating separation, wire thickness, and number of gratings that comprise the cascaded structure. The problem of stacking dielectric slabs with periodic gratings is also formulated and solved. In all cases, the secant corrector spectral iteration approach is used as a numerical method for calculating the desired currents and fields. Finally, the calculated values of the reflection and transmission coefficients are presented and compared with reported experimental and theoretical data  相似文献

The TE/TM polarization conversion characteristics of dielectric grating composed of left-handed materials for the case of plane wave oblique incidence are carefully investigated by a method which combines the multimode network theory with the rigorous mode matching method. It is indicated that complete polarization conversion between TE and TM modes can be realized using left-handed gratings. This can hardly achieve in the conventional right-handed gratings. Comparisons of polarization conversion properties between right-handed gratings and left-handed gratings are given with physical explanations. This unique merit of left-handed periodic structure is of important significance for accurate design of new millimeter wave TE/TM polarization converters.  相似文献

The frequency selective characteristics of a new dielectric periodic structure composed of left-handed materials (LHM) are carefully studied by a method which combines the multimode network theory with the rigorous mode matching method. The variations of the frequency selective characteristics with structure parameters and dielectric loss are presented and comparisons for the frequency selective properties between RHM and LHM gratings are also shown with some explanations. There is an increasing desire to employ wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) techniques in optical communication systems to increase the useable capacity of optical fibre links. WDM transmitters usually consist of several narrow linewidth lasers, with their operating wavelengths suitably spaced. WDM demultiplexers or receivers employ either discrete gratings or discrete transmission filters to separate the various wavelengths. The disadvantage of such demultiplexers is that precise mechanical alignment of the many components is required. Together with the high cost of components such as gratings this makes such demultiplexers unsuitable for mass production. The authors describe a method of producing a dielectric wavelength filter integrated onto an InGaAs PIN photodiode for use in WDM systems and give results for the transmission characteristics of the filters and quantum efficiency of the whole structure.<>  相似文献

This work analyzes the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves and the frequency selectivity of dielectric gratings with periodicity in two dimensions, having in mind their application as dichroic surfaces in the millimeter wave band. The moment method and the Green's functions, along with the volume equivalence theorem are used. Particular cases were analyzed to compare with results available in the specialized literature and agreement was observed. This work gives evidence that the inclusion of the periodicity along a second dimension allows an additional adjusting parameter of the frequency selective characteristics for the design requirements of dielectric gratings.  相似文献

Hybrid technique of finite element method (FEM) and Gaussian mode expansion method is implemented for the analysis of transmission property of dielectric phase gratings used in holographic power combining systems. It takes advantages of the versatility of FEM and the simplicity of the mode expansion method. Apparently, this hybrid method is well suited for the analysis of phase gratings with complex profiles, which provide more degrees of structural freedom than those of classical rectangular groove gratings. The transmitted fields of an array of two and three fundamental Gaussian beams through the multi-stepped and curved gratings are calculated by the hybrid method. Numerical results show that much less phase distortion can be fulfilled for the reconstructed pseudo-plane wave by the modified phase gratings, especially the curved ones. This is advantageous for improving the combining efficiency in spatial millimeter wave and sub-millimeter wave power combining systems.  相似文献

This paper presents a new and completely theoretical accurate method for the design of dlelectic image guide gratings. Our method is based on a network approach that can easily analyze, with satisfactory approximations, the interaction of dielectric step discontinuities. These are the fundamental constituents of our gratings. Measurements on a filter modeled at X-band show excellent agreement with the design characteristics.  相似文献

A rigorous and simple method of analyzing scattering and absorbing characteristics of multilayered gratings embedded in a dielectric slab has been proposed. The method combines a generalized scattering matrix with a lattice sums matrix and a T-matrix of an isolated single cylinder instead of the aggregate T-matrix. The validity of the present method has been confirmed by several numerical experiments and comparisons with other published results. Numerical examples show that the absorbing characteristics become very complex and are not linear with the decreasing of cylinders’ conductivity, when the arrays are stacked to a multilayered structure and are embedded in a dielectric slab.  相似文献

长周期光纤光栅作为一种损耗型的带阻滤波器,在光纤通信和光纤传感器领域有着广泛的应用。结合长周期光纤光栅的传输特性,利用传输矩阵法对多种长周期莫尔光栅的透射谱进行了理论模拟。分析结果表明,莫尔光栅技术在制作高性能的相移长周期光栅和变迹长周期光栅上有着很好的应用前景。  相似文献

A design procedure and experimental method is presented for modeling optical periodic waveguides by means of more convenient parallel plate microwave configurations. These models are suitable for verifying the beam-coupling properties of dielectric gratings that operate in the fundamental TE/sub 0/ surface-wave mode. In particular, blazed gratings with high coupling efficiencies have been constructed and their characteristics have been measured. The results have shown that previously developed design criteria, which are based on a simple Bragg-scattering approach, can yield highly efficient broad-band beam couplers that are not subject to critical fabrication tolerances.  相似文献
