This paper deals with a machine service model with a service station which consists of r unreliable units. Each machine calls for being served after it continuously working for an exponential interval time. The service station occasionally occurs breakdown which is caused by the failures of units. The service station can serve the machine if and only if none of units fails. The lifetimes of the units have different exponential distributions, while the repair times of the units have different general distributions. The time of serving a machine has a general distribution. Using the supplementary variable method and Takáes' results, we obtain the queueing quantities and reliablity quantities of the model. 相似文献

To facilitate the efficient support of quality of service (QoS) in next-generation wireless networks, it is essential to model a wireless channel in terms of connection-level QoS metrics such as data rate, delay, and delay-violation probability. However, the existing wireless channel models, i.e., physical-layer channel models, do not explicitly characterize a wireless channel in terms of these QoS metrics. In this paper, we propose and develop a link-layer channel model termed effective capacity (EC). In this approach, we first model a wireless link by two EC functions, namely, the probability of nonempty buffer, and the QoS exponent of a connection. Then, we propose a simple and efficient algorithm to estimate these EC functions. The physical-layer analogs of these two link-layer EC functions are the marginal distribution (e.g., Rayleigh-Ricean distribution) and the Doppler spectrum, respectively. The key advantages of the EC link-layer modeling and estimation are: 1) ease of translation into QoS guarantees, such as delay bounds; 2) simplicity of implementation; and 3) accuracy, and hence, efficiency in admission control and resource reservation. We illustrate the advantage of our approach with a set of simulation experiments, which show that the actual QoS metric is closely approximated by the QoS metric predicted by the EC link-layer model, under a wide range of conditions. 相似文献

Today's mobile location-based services (LBSs) largely depend on a free-of-charge, best-effort positioning technology, called global positioning system, which is controlled by the US military. The European alternative Galileo will not only offer a similar best-effort system by 2020, but also a premium-rate service known as Galileo commercial service (CS). Galileo CS is planned to provide higher positioning accuracy, improved security due to signal authentication and service guarantee. While the technology behind Galileo is often studied, the impact of Galileo CS on the LBS marketplace is rarely discussed. In this article, we fill this gap by analysing how improved accuracy, authentication and service guarantee may impact the business models of LBS providers. We do so by interviewing service providers, policy makers and industry experts on what new services would be enabled; technological alternatives that may emerge in the coming years; and organisational and financial issues that service providers face when adopting such a premium-priced positioning signal. We find that a more accurate, secure and reliable global navigation satellite system signal enables a range of new LBSs, although several alternative technologies are emerging that may make Galileo CS obsolete before it is even launched. To convince the LBS providers to adopt Galileo CS, the institution operating Galileo should get governments on board early on for building trust and should consider progressive pricing schemes. Still, service providers are sceptical about adopting Galileo CS, and the hope to recoup any investments in Galileo may thus be in vain. 相似文献

在具体搭建面向多租户的平台过程中,传统访问控制模型在多租户环境下无法满足租户之间的隔离访问以及对各租户的访问请求实行有效的统一管理。为了在多租户环境下实现一套快速的、访问控制可配置的实施方案,提出一个面向服务的多租户访问控制模型。根据对多视图业务模型之间的关联进行分析,识别出组织模型及其相关的资源模型。通过映射和转换将组织模型转换为面向服务的多租户访问控制模型,并构建访问控制模块对系统进行配置,然后运行访问控制模型。最后,以某交通物流信息平台为范例验证了该模型的可行性和有效性。验证结果表明,模型能够在多租户环境下提供兼备快速配置与访问控制的实现支持。 相似文献

In the last few years there has been considerable research toward extending the Internet architecture to provide quality of service guarantees for the emerging real-time multimedia applications. QoS provision is a rather controversial endeavour. At one end of the spectrum there were proposals for reservations and per-flow state in the routers. These models did not flourish due to the network's heterogeneity the complexity of the mechanisms involved, and scalability problems. At the other end, proposals advocating that an overprovisioned best effort network will solve all the problems are not quite convincing either. The authors believe that more control is clearly needed for protecting best effort service. An important requirement is to prevent congestion collapse, keep congestion levels low, and guarantee fairness. Appropriate control structures in a best effort service network could even be used for introducing differentiation. This could be achieved without sacrificing the best effort nature of the Internet or stressing its architecture beyond its limits and original design principles. We revisit the best effort service model and the problem of congestion while focusing on the importance of cooperative resource sharing to the Internet's success, and review the congestion control principles and mechanisms which facilitate Internet resource sharing 相似文献

The efficient management of a quality level of Internet service is becoming increasingly important to both customers and service providers. This article describes how service level agreements for multimedia Internet service can be managed and controlled. We first present a literature survey on the problems of SLA management: SLA parameter definition, SLA measurement, and QoS management. We present a utility model to capture the management and control aspects of SLAs for multimedia Internet service. This utility model has been used in microeconomics theory, but here we have applied it to SLA management. This model provides a computationally feasible solution for admission control and quality adaptation for multimedia Internet service and SLA management. It also allows management policies to be flexibly expressed by service providers. Finally, we apply the utility model to the SLA management of VoIP service and describe how to use it for admission control, dynamic quality adaptation, and resource allocation for SLA assurance 相似文献

随着网络中具有相同功能、不同QoS服务的增多,在用户请求服务时,为了确保能找到满足用户功能与质量要求的服务,并对找到的可用候选服务集按一定的策略进行选优,提出了一种多策略QoS感知的服务选择与排序模型。在该模型中,综合考虑服务的性能与运营维护成本等属性,提出了一个扩展的服务QoS模型,在此基础上引入用户、运营商对服务满意度的计算方法,通过改变用户满意度与运营商满意度在排序选优过程中所占的不同比重,灵活设置服务选优策略,有效的解决了服务排序选优问题。搭建了服务选择与排序原型系统,并通过应用实例对上述模型进行了验证。 相似文献

Voice over IP services offer important revenue-generating opportunities, as well as many technical challenges in providing high-quality services. Users have come to expect highly available telecommunications services with high-quality voice. Service providers need reliable high-performance networks to meet user expectations, and must be able to guarantee performance and reliability to their customers. In converged voice and data networks, the network infrastructure must deliver very high quality and availability for some customer needs, while also providing low-cost high-capacity bandwidth for other needs. The use of quality of service mechanisms to provide prioritization for various traffic types is a key element needed for voice and data network convergence. The current trend in location-based services (LBSs) research is to focus on the development and deployment of LBSs. This research examines the different uses of LBSs based on a virtual environment. It is argued that using the real world method of developing and deploying LBS restricts the types of uses being developed and that an alternative approach might yield insight into what types of uses are possible and how it might change the thinking of LBSs developers. This research surveyed the Second Life metaverse to identify and categorise the types of LBS used and deployed in the digital world. The results of the survey found that many of the LBSs in SL provided intelligence to the avatar so that they could perform an action which they could not do without the LBS. It is clear that the topic of navigation is biased based on the digital nature of the SL metaverse and its use of the teleportation concept. But the results show that LBSs are ubiquitous throughout metaverse and the types of services go beyond those found in the real world. 相似文献
