埃德加·斯诺(1905-1972)出生于美国密苏里州堪萨斯城.1925年秋天,斯诺进入密苏里州大学著名的哥伦比亚新闻学院学习,同时兼职于<堪萨斯城明星报>驻校通讯记者,这为他后来的职业打下了基础.     

简析近代音乐之父——萧友梅先生

肖友梅(1884 - 1940)是我国现代音乐的莫基人,出生于在东中山县.他留学日本和德国学习音乐,1920年回国后主持北京女子高等师范学校音乐科和北京大学音乐所的工作,为专业音乐教育的开创做了有益的尝试和准备.在蔡元培的支持下,肖友梅主持创办了上海国立音乐院,这是我国正规专业音乐教育的开端.此后,他一直从事该校的管理和教学工作,为我国现代音乐教育的发展呕心沥血,做出了重要贡献.肖友梅曾编写过<风琴教科书>、<钢琴教科书>、<和声学>、<普通乐学>等一批我国早期的音乐教材1916年7月,他以<关于17世纪前中国管弦乐队的历史研究>一文获莱比锡大学哲学博士学位.     

四川省艺术类高职高专英语教学评价批判

通过问卷调查和重点走访,客观介绍近年来四川省艺术类高职高专<大学英语>(公共英语)课程的教学现状,以及参加四川省大学英语二、三级英语考试的报名情况和过级情况,从而分析得出:四川省大学英语二、三级英语考试已经成为四川省艺术类高职高专<大学英语>(公共英语)课程教学评价的重要指标,并进一步指出这种单一教学评价指标时四川省艺术类高职高专<大学英语>(公共英语)课程教学的影响、利弊,以及今后应当努力改进的方向.     

元代后期流寓江南杂剧作家作品中的"变奏"现象论略——以《倩女离魂》、《东堂老》为例

文章以郑光祖的<倩女离魂>、秦简夫的<东堂老>为例,探求元代后期流寓作家作品中"变奏"现象.突出两个亮点:(1)冲破传统封锁,"幻化"追求真爱;(2)商人形象突围,彰显人性之美.并归纳了流寓与变奏的关系.     

教学型向教学研究型大学转型期的高校学科建设思路

学科建设是学校发展的龙头,是承载人才培养、科学研究和社会服务三大功能的平台。一些大学由教学型向教学研究型的转型是我国高等教育发展的必然结果,与发展较早比较完善的教学研究型大学和研究型大学相比,处于转型期的大学在困扰学校发展的学科建设方面面临着各种各样的问题。在充分考虑到处于转型期的大学学科建设现状的基础上,提出了明确学校办学定位、抓好学科队伍建设等思路。

英语语法课程教学现状及原因探究

英语语法课程是<高等学校英语专业教学大纲>中的指定必修课.然而,这门课在教学目标、教学内容、教学方法、教学评价等方面还存在着一些问题.笔者以十年高职院校一线英语语法教学实践为基础,试图从教师、学生、学校和学科建设几方面探索问题形成的种种原因.     

高校研究型学院建设与学科建设探析

学院是大学的细胞,学院功能发挥的好坏直接影响整个学校的水平和质量,所以学院建设是高校的一项基本建设;学科建设是学院建设的基础性工程,因此只有加强学院的学科建设,才能集中体现大学的人文观念、科学精神和学术制度,才能广泛调动大学资源,实现队伍汇聚、方向凝炼和机制创新,所以加强学院的学科建设,是研究型学院建设的一项重要任务.本文从研究型学院的概念、特征及内涵入手,初步剖析了新时期高校研究型学院建设和学科建设的辩证关系和重要意义.     

树立科学发展观推进学校快速健康发展

近年来,鞍山科技大学(原鞍山钢铁学院)在学校领导班子的带领下,经过全校师生员工的共同努力,学校发展实现了历史性的跨越,其显著标志有三:一是坚持低成本扩张,完成了资产置换,学校获得了较大的发展空间和资金支持;二是成功更名为大学,实现了由单科性学院向多科性大学的转变;三是硕士点由1999年的7个增加到17个,2002年获得了博士学位授权单位资格,这标志着学校的学科建设水平又上了一个新台阶,学校可以在一个更高的平台上谋求新的更大的发展.     

理工科新生大学英语学习的需求分析

研究以问卷形式对北航2008级理工科新生大学英语学习的需求情况进行了调查和分析.数据表明,理工科新生大学英语学习者在宏观性学习策略上和课堂形式上都对视听说具有高度的心理倾向,在学习题材上对人文知识具有高度的心理倾向,这些调查结果与2007版<大学英语课程教学要求>(以下及文中简称<新要求>)中所设定的教学目标相符,证明<新要求>所规定教学目标具有合理生和现实意义.研究还表明,理工科新生学习者高度重视课堂情绪/情感体验尤其是成就感体验.根据研究结果,文章对大学英语教学改革提出了建议.     

转炉炉壳热应力分析

根据实际转炉建立实体模型。以有限元为手段,考虑了炉衬和炉壳材料的物性参数随温度变化的特点和炉衬与炉壳之间膨胀间隙,计算了转炉炉壳在温度载荷和炉衬膨胀压力同时作用下的热应力。所得结果可为转炉炉壳设计提供依据。     

焦炭热性能指标意义浅析

通过对焦炭在高炉内的历程及其变化规律的剖析,阐述焦炭热性能指标的意义,形象地把焦炭在高炉内的损耗分为三部分(M1,M2,M3)。指出M2对焦比及焦炭价格有一定的指导作用。     

Results of treatment of cancer of the cardia

Cancer of the cardia is traditionally discussed with cardiac cancer of the lower portion of the esophagus and upper gastric cancer invading the esophagus, and the specific characteristics of cancer of the cardia have never been clearly defined. We reviewed the outcome of 172 patients with adenocarcinoma of the cardia who had undergone radical surgery between 1949 and 1994 in the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery of the Cancer Institute Hospital. The centers of the tumors were located within 2 cm above and below the boundary between the esophagus and the stomach, and their longitudinal diameter was less than 8 cm. We divided the patients into an early period (1949-1979; n = 79) and a late period (1980-1994; n = 93), and focused on the historical transition. There were no differences in patient gender or histology between the two periods. However, the late period was associated with fewer cases of esophageal invasion and shorter longitudinal diameter, as the age of the population advanced. The number of advanced cancers such as the localized and infiltrative type had decreased, and early cancer and early clinical stage had become more common, but despite the fact that the number of early cancers had increased, extended dissection, such as thoracic and paraaortic lymph node dissection, was performed more frequently. By clinical stage, the long-term outcome markedly improved in Stage I patient in the late period, and tended to improve in Stage II and III patients. This appears to have been attributable to the prevention of micrometastasis by extended dissection, although the number of early cancers is another major potential cause. There were no differences in the outcome of Stage IV patients between the two periods, and further advances in multimodality therapy must be awaited. The range of resection is basically proximal gastrectomy, and if there are adequate indications, the prognosis is favorable. In view of the status of lymphatic flow and lymph node metastasis, and long-term results, lateroaortic lymph node dissection is important. Since the number of early cancer patients has been increasing, if intraabdominal recurrence is prevented, intrathoracic lymph node dissection will contribute greatly to the outcome of such patients.     

The effect of amount of possession of the trait of hostility on accuracy of perception of hostility in others.

Some theories of personality hold that an individual's perception of others is influenced by his own personality characteristics; more specifically, that a trait of low social value will be projected more into others, and that insight into the possession of these characteristics reduces this distortion. These 2 hypotheses were tested by having a group of college students rate each other (including themselves) on degree of friendliness or hostility. Agreement with group rating about self yielded the insight score. In general, the hypotheses were supported; the "friendly" Ss were most accurate in their perception of others, and insight was positively associated with accurate perception. Comparison of rates of infection of two methods of emergency ventricular drainage

The rates of infection of two methods of external ventricular drainage in use at Atkinson Morley's Hospital--namely, (a) percutaneous drainage with Rickham reservoirs and (b) tunnelled ventriculostomies--were compared in this retrospective review. Percutaneous drainage of CSF with Rickham reservoirs was associated with a 27% rate of infection as identified by positive microbiological cultures; tunnelled ventriculostomy catheters had a 10% infection rate. The difference in the infection rate between the two methods was statistically significant (P < 0.015). Other variables examined, including the age and sex of the patients and the reasons for ventricular drainage, were not associated with an increased rate of infection. Most infections from either method were caused by a coagulase negative staphylococcus. The average duration of ventricular drainage before identification of positive cultures was 5.7 days for Rickham reservoirs and 6.0 days for ventriculostomies.

针对四辊破碎机车刀架车削中存在的几个问题,详细介绍了电动车刀架的结构和工作原理,建立主要设计参数的数学表达式,并进行适当的分析。改造后,这种电动车刀架运行平稳、可靠、方便、省力,取得了预期的效果。     

Effect of antibiotics of chemotaxis of human leukocytes

The effect of 20 different antibiotics on chemotaxis by human neutrophils was studied. Human leukocytes incubated with chloramphenicol, rifampin, sodium fusidate, and tetracyclines in vitro showed markedly depressed migration. The mechanisms by which these antibiotics affect leukotaxis are discussed.
