Medical Musings about Intergeneration Design Phenomena at the 4-H Children's Garden

The use made of the Michigan 4-H Children's Garden by two groups is considered. Children are the most frequent user group; however, senior citizens are the second most frequent visitor type to use the garden space. Because of this dichotomy in user groups, an examination of the site design from the perspective of a behaviourist and medical practitioner was prompted. An investigation of site features and layout suggests that the underlying principles that were applied in designing the 64 garden teaching areas for children also serve the senior citizens. An explanation of how principles of design have application in the creation of garden spaces for individuals separated by over two generations of age is presented.     

基于人际交往视角的城市社区公共活动场地研究

现代化的住区,由于种种原因人际冷漠,其设计更需要提倡人际交往。随着生活水平的提高,教育理念的发展,家庭结构的简单化,年龄结构的老龄化,现在的住区户外场所更多地被儿童以及老人所占据。本文通过研究社区公共活动场所使用频繁的人群（老人、儿童为主）的心理生理特点,以及交往方式,提出社区公共活动场地的设计建议,以寻回适合于现代生活公共活动场地的设计方式。     

Design of hospital healing gardens linked to pre- or post-occupancy research findings

This work examined the evidence-based design (EBD) and post-occupancy research of hospital healing gardens. The lack of statutory design guidelines raises concerns on how such gardens are created and whether they meet the intended design purpose. This issue is particularly important for hospitals because a neutral or even a negative effect on users can be generated. A systematic analysis of the literature in two databases (Scopus and Web of Science) was undertaken. Results showed that pre- and post-occupancy research findings on hospital healing garden design are sparse and design recommendations vary among users. Despite the lack of research on the design of healing gardens, the review showed that while post-occupancy research findings evaluate the effectiveness of design recommendations, pre-occupancy research findings, combined with site analysis, constitute a traditional approach followed in landscape architecture practice and determine the site and user features that must be addressed for each hospital. Pre- and post-research findings must be considered in the design process to createa “successful” healing garden. A summary of EBD recommendations for different users is presented, and the need to enrich the existing amount of EBD recommendations ishighlighted.     

西风东渐——中国江南山水园林中的荷兰风情

无锡梅园和南京绿博园二者是为数不多的融入西方元素的古典园林。在外部环境上,二者都采用了以郁金香为主的植物造景,与自然融为一体。茅草屋、风车、教堂、农舍等外部建筑通过砖石与装饰木板的结合,营造了浓郁的荷兰风情。在内部装饰中,木质桌椅、鲜花、代尔夫特蓝瓷等,同样充满荷兰的味道。质朴简洁、适用为上的设计原则贯穿始终,荷兰风情的营造也展现了荷兰传统的文化与价值观,中西共存于一园之内,其价值值得我们深入关注与研究。     

Historical Gardens at Risk of the Destruction by Visitors,Case Study of El-Goli Garden (Iran)

This study, which was conducted on the only surviving garden of the historic gardens in the city of Tabriz in Iran (i.e. the garden of El-Goli), closely examines its importance and place in the Iranian art of gardening. El-Goli garden is considered as an important place in the city by foreign and local tourists. However, in recent years, with the development of Tabriz and consequently the increased need for green space and recreational areas for citizens, this historic garden has become a public promenade and park. This paper examines the risks and threats posed by the change in land use. Since visitors are the main threats, a questionnaire was developed to identify their reasons for visiting the garden, their behaviour in the garden and how they use this historic garden. The questionnaire was completed by 100 visitors who were randomly selected. The table of frequency for each variable was prepared using SPSS software. Finally, the results show that most visitors not only are unaware of the historical value, but also come to the garden for other purposes such as recreation, leisure and use of facilities and so on. Thus, their attitudes and behaviours will pave the way for the destruction of the garden.

针对老年人的特殊性和老年人建筑的发展趋势,就老年人建筑消防安全设计作了探讨,从平面布置、疏散形式、内部装修、消防设施等方面进行了论述,以优化消防安全设计。     

HIGH-QUALITY URBAN ENVIRONMENT OUT OF SLOW DESIGN: REVIEW AND PROSPECT OF URBAN DESIGN PRACTICES IN CHINA

Driven by unprecedented urbanization and everchanging applied technologies, urban planners and designers are exploring how to create comfortable living experience in fast-paced cities, thus rises the concept of “slowing city.” By reviewing years of design practices of Sasaki Associates, this article is focused on the core idea of “slowing city,” i.e., “making good use of local resources,” and its application into a number of urban regeneration practice. Further, by taking “user demands” as a critical reference, the article discusses how to coordinate the interests of a wide range of user groups and then facilitate cooperation among the government, citizens, and designers to ensure the long-term benefits of construction projects. Finally, critical thoughts are given to how the emerging technologies could contribute to urban construction and life quality, and the new opportunity that they may bring to the planning and design industry.     

老年人居住环境设计初探

随着我国国民经济的不断发展,急速增长的老年人口迫切需要宁静优美、健康适用的居住环境。文章通过对不同养老模式下老年居住状况的分析以及居住环境现状分析,结合老年人实际需要,从住宅建筑设计、外部条件选择、小区环境布置等方面探讨老年人居住环境设计的问题。     

适于老年人的住区室外空间环境设计

现有的一些住区环境过于强调形式,忽视对老年人的关心。文章根据老年人健身、娱乐、休闲、交往等户外活动的需要,探讨了适合于老年人居住生活的室外环境设计。     

The Colonel Light Gardens Garden Suburb Commission: building a planned community

Colonel Light Gardens, about 6 km south of Adelaide, South Australia, is recognized as a national and international exemplar in the field of garden suburb planning. The first objective of the suburb's Development Plan seeks the conservation and reinforcement of its ‘original three dimensional garden suburb design’ and statements supporting other objectives detail its ‘essential’ urban design and land use elements. However, town planning is more than the design of urban places and spaces. It is also concerned with how these may be achieved effectively and how the services and facilities required by citizens are properly supplied and located. This crucial other side of the ‘town planning coin’ has been demonstrated in the Colonel Light Gardens' development. The Garden Suburb Act of 1919 established a Garden Suburb Commission with powers similar to what, in later years, would be known as urban development corporations. Hence, it was first in a line of such organizations in South Australia and stands with international exemplars such as the British garden cities and new towns.

浅谈居家养老模式下的老年人户外环境设计

从现有部分居住区存在的一些问题出发,着重从空间布局、交通组织关系、无障碍设计、绿化设计、服务设施等方面探讨了如何设计出适宜老年人居住的户外环境,以满足老年人对居住区户外环境的需求。     

Using Social Network Analysis to Visualize the Social-Media Networks of Community Groups: Two Case Studies from Sydney

Community participation in planning is generally considered crucial for the delivery of positive outcomes; however, the network structures that can be created by community groups that use social media and participate in the network are not widely understood. This paper explores the use of social media, specifically Twitter, by two community groups in Sydney. In the context of this study, community groups are self-created and organized groups of citizens that form to oppose a proposal to amend planning controls for a specific site. Employing the research technique of Social Network Analysis (SNA), this paper seeks to visualize community group social media networks, as well as understand who is connected and who is participating within the networks. For the two community groups investigated, it was found that they do not attract large numbers of friends and followers on Twitter and key stakeholders play a passive listening role in the networks.     

深具地域特色的城市生态风光带园林景观设计的探索

在当今提倡的人与自然和谐共处的园林景观设计浪潮中,人们越来越注重生态设计理念与园林设计实际的结合。本文结合笔者多年城市园林景观设计实践,运用园林景观设计及生态学一般原理,详细阐述了城市生态风光带或生态走廊的设计理念和具体设计思路;并结合邵阳资江风光带实际应用实例,对于地域人文与园林景观设计相结合的滨水临江城市生态风光带的园林景观特点与特色进行了深入剖析和总结。     

“山水楼”模式：基于艺文分析的昆明 西山-滇池-大观楼传统公共园林景观 偏好研究

中国传统公共园林由士绅官员、文人墨客、地方民 众等历经千百年共同建构、感知，承载着中华民族集体的景 观偏好。以西南边疆云南省省会昆明的西山-滇池-大观楼传 统公共园林为例，整理描写其景观特征的330篇古代艺文， 通过Nvivo软件，运用扎根理论从五感角度分析艺文内容， 并对艺文景观偏好进行三级编码。研究发现：1)视觉景观 在艺文中出现的占比最高，听觉、触觉、嗅觉次之，分别为 99%、36%、24%、7%，视觉和听觉同时出现的艺文占比 高达35%；2)“山水楼”是中国传统公共园林重要的景观偏 好模式，蕴含了中国传统公共园林营造智慧和中国人集体景 观审美意识。昆明“山水楼”模式的出现，是中华民族在西 南边陲地区“一带一路”文化传播的见证。     

Everyone Counts—Creating Inclusive and Friendly Urban Spaces

While making contributions to the prosperity of cities, diverse population groups have the equal right to enjoy quality urban life. However, senior citizens, children, and the disabled are vulnerable when it comes to the access to urban resources and the participation of city’s decision-making. To make the well-beings brought by urban development available to all, it is essential for a city to be inclusive by paying more attention to the needs, benefits, and rights of the disadvantaged groups. The authors believe that the creation of inclusive and friendly urban spaces requires not only new design methods and approaches, but also changes of design philosophy and mindset.     

古意如何赋新诗——徐州园博会温州园 设计记略

中国园林是中国优秀传统文化的重要组成部分，当 下我国举办的园林展中的地方展园是探索中国传统造园传承和 创新的重要平台。第十三届徐州园博会温州园的设计从“师法 地域特征”和“一园双境”2个层面进行了传统造园的“微创 新”探索。设计截取温州楠溪江乡村景观的一个片段进行提炼 和重构，营造具有野逸之气的山水园林空间，使游客能够在咫 尺之间身临其境地体验永嘉山水的诗情画意和温州发展的未来 之态。最后，以此展园的营造为契机思考了中国传统园林回归 本源进行传承创新的可能性。     

老年人住宅建筑浅析

针对我国已经进入老龄化社会的现状,分析老年人的生理及心理特点,探讨老年人居住环境的设计准则,以解决我们目前面临的人口老龄化所带来的住宅问题,构建一个和谐发展的社会.     

我国养老社区的发展现状与规划原则探析

养老社区是当前老龄化发展浪潮下的新兴事物,各地方政府和开发商都在积极开展养老社区建设。本文针对目前市场上养老社区的主要类型,分析了其规划建设中存在的问题,结合笔者近年的研究成果和设计实践经验,以综合型养老社区为例,从选址与规模、道路与交通组织、建筑功能与布局形式等几个方面给出了相应的规划原则与设计建议。
