针对多信道放大时掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)的增益谱随饱和深度而变化的现象,本文介绍了EDFA增益谱在等效饱和条件下的双滤长和宽谱光源迭代测试法及等效 饱和信号功率的计算公式。使用这种方法只需少数几次迭代即可准确测出当EDFA应用于波分复用系统的各信道的实际增益,实验测得结果的误差不大于0.15dB。  相似文献

本文在COMDISCO信号处理工作系统中研究了用于波分复用传输系统的掺铒光纤放大器块图编辑器仿真模块。仿真模块考虑了前向及后向放大的自发辐射噪声。通过信息计算EDFA-BDE模块,优化设计了掺铒光纤的长度。在含8级EDFA的WDM光传输系统的仿真中论证了模块的实际应用。本文在输出信号幅度及ASE噪声谱上都获得了与前期发表的实验相一致的仿真结果,证明了EDFA-BDE模块在高饱和状态下的实际可用性。  相似文献

本文对掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)的噪声特性进行了全面的分析。把光信号和EDFA中放大自发辐射(ASE)产生的量子噪声,以及信号-ASE拍频噪声和ASE-ASE拍频噪声一并加以考虑。通过数值模拟,给出了不同信号功率和泵浦功率下的EDFA噪声系数。这些结果对优化EDFA的工作参量及其工程制作具有一定的指导作用。  相似文献

A long-wavelength-band erbium-doped fiber amplifier (L-band EDFA) using a pump wavelength source of 1540-nm band has been extensively investigated from a small single channel input signal to high-power wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) signals. The small-signal gain coefficient of 1545-nm pumping among the 1540-nm band is 2.25 times higher compared to the conventional 1480-nm pumping. This improvement in gain coefficient is not limited by the pumping direction. The cause for this high coefficient is explained by analyzing forward- and backward-amplified spontaneous emission spectra. The gain spectra as a function of a pump wavelength suggest that a broadband pump source as well as a single wavelength pump can be used as a 1540-nm-band pump. In the experiment for high-power WDM signals, the power conversion efficiency for 256 WDM channel input is 48.5% with 1545-nm pumping. This result shows more than 20% improvement compared with the previous highest value for the L-band EDFA. Finally, the 1545-nm bidirectionally pumped EDFA is applied as a second stage amplifier in an in-line amplifier of an optical communication link with a 1480-nm pumped first stage EDFA, in which the input power of the second-stage EDFA is +2.2 dBm. The power conversion efficiency yields a 38% improvement without noise figure degradation compared with the case of 1480-nm pumping.  相似文献

An adaptive power-equalized erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) module is proposed and experimentally demonstrated by using strain tunable fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). In a demonstration for a five-channel wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) system, the EDFA module can effectively reduce the power variation from 11 dB to 0.3 dB. Measured power penalty for 2.5-Gb/s data is less than 0.5 and 1.1 dB for 5 and 17 dB of signal attenuation by tunable FBGs, respectively. We experimentally demonstrate a novel concept of the dispersion-compensating Raman/erbium-doped fiber amplifier hybrid amplifier recycling residual Raman pump for increase of overall power conversion efficiency. The proposed dispersion-compensating hybrid amplifier system has only one pump source for Raman amplification in the dispersion-compensating fiber (DCF) and the residual pump power after the DCF is recycled for secondary signal amplification in an erbium-doped fiber cascaded to the DCF. Using the proposed scheme, we achieve the significant enhancement of both signal gain and effective gain-bandwidth by 15 dB (small signal gain) and 20 nm, respectively, compared to the performance of the Raman-only amplifier.  相似文献

The authors investigate the behavior of multichannel signals in a high-density wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system with the consideration of stimulated Raman scattering. A parameter to evaluate the depth of Raman crosstalk is provided, and the transmission distance limitation imposed by Raman crosstalk is analyzed. To extend the system transmission distance, a post-transmitter fiber Raman amplifier is used. The allocation of signal channels on the pump gain profile is discussed. It is found that there exists an optimum pump power which results in a maximum amplifier gain. The example shows that the transmission distance limitation imposed by Raman crosstalk can be extended by 20 km for a 30-channel system with 0.25-dB/km fiber loss  相似文献

基于多波长泵浦与级联光纤相结合的方法,文章使用遗传算法对泵浦波长、功率及两段光纤的长度进行优化,采用数值解法对100信道的波分复用系统进行仿真获得了约0.069 5 dB的增益平坦度,增益值为13.15 dB.同时对泵浦光功率和信号光功率随光纤长度的变化进行了分析.  相似文献

首先介绍了级联结构光纤参量放大器的工作原理,即通过两种光纤色散补偿来平坦信号输出增益。其次推导出小信号近似下单泵浦级联光纤参量放大器的信号输出增益表达式,并在此基础上利用Matlab软件对影响增益特性的各个参数进行数值分析。结果表明,级联光纤参量放大器的峰值增益与增益带宽,受到分段数、泵浦光功率、泵浦波长、色散补偿光纤(DCF)长度、高非线性光纤(HNLF)的零色散波长、HNLF长度、HNLF非线性系数和HNLF色散斜率的影响。  相似文献

本文对陆上级联接掺铒光纤放大器(EDPA)波分复用光纤通信系统中国波混频所造成的各个光信道光信噪比的恶化提出了一套计算方法,并结合常规单模光纤及一种特殊设计的色散位移光纤进行了分析计算。结果表明:在四波混频所引入的光信噪比恶化中,因新生频率分量导致的噪声增加一般远大于光信号功率的减弱。不等信道间隔划分能有效地避免四波混频的影响,而光滤波器的带宽应在允许范围内尽量压窄。对采用色散补偿技术的级联EDFA波分复用系统,在同一光中继段内,使常规单模光纤置于特殊设计的色散位移光纤之前,能进一步减少四波混频带来的光信噪比的恶化。  相似文献

The applications of Raman amplifiers as repeater amplifiers or post-transmitter amplifiers in a high-density WDM system are theoretically investigated. There exists an optimum pump power which results in maximum amplifier gain.
