This work presents a bi-arm rolled monopole for ultrawide-band (UWB) applications. The roll monopole is constructed by wrapping a planar monopole. The impedance and radiation characteristics of the proposed roll monopole are experimentally compared with a rectangular planar monopole and strip monopole. Furthermore, the transfer responses of transmit-receive antenna systems comprising two identical monopoles are examined across the UWB band. The characteristics of the monopoles are investigated in both time and frequency domains for UWB single-band and multiple-band schemes. The study shows that the proposed bi-arm rolled monopole is capable of achieving broadband and omnidirectional radiation characteristics within 3.1-10.6 GHz for UWB wireless communications.  相似文献

提出了共面波导(CPW)馈电平面圆形单极子带阻超宽带(UWB)天线的设计方法,采用该方法设计的天线满足超宽带无线通信所要求的3.1 GHz~10.6 GHz的频带范围,通过在圆形贴片上添加U形和弧形缝隙,可分别实现4.75 GHz~5.96GHz范围内和4.8 GHz~6.2 GHz范围内电压驻波比VSWR≥2的带阻特性,均避免了5 GHz无线局域网的干扰。采用电磁仿真软件CST进行了天线的方向图绘制,仿真结果表明该设计可行。  相似文献

Pulse-preserving capabilities of ultrawideband (UWB) antennas, which are measured in terms of two parameters-the fidelity factor and the pulse width stretch ratio, are analyzed with respect to variations of the antenna gain and the group delay of the radiated field. With the degrees of the gain and the group delay variations quantified by their respective standard deviations from constant values, Monte-Carlo simulations are performed to evaluate the effect of different gain and group delay functions using randomly generated Gaussian profiles. The means and the standard variations of the two performance parameter distributions are monitored and their two-dimensional profiles are specifically obtained for UWB antennas operating in 3.1-10.6 GHz. The analysis also demonstrates the use of the fidelity factor and the pulse width stretch ratio as useful characterizing parameters for UWB antennas.  相似文献

设计制作了一种新型的具有带阻特性的超宽带微带天线。天线采用50Ω共面波导馈电结构,辐射单元采用圆形金属贴片,在圆形贴片上开一个倒U形槽,实现了天线的带阻特性。测试结果表明:在频率段2.8-12.0 GHz内(除5.00-5.95 GHz外)天线驻波比小于2,且天线具有近似全向辐射的特性;而天线在频率段5.00-5.95 GHz内形成了阻带,从而有效阻隔了WLAN(5.150-5.825 GHz)频率段。该天线具有尺寸小,易于与微波电路集成等优点,可以用于超宽带系统。  相似文献

The design of a wideband circularly polarized (CP) equiangular spiral antenna is described. Contrary to the conventional spiral antenna using the coaxial line or the vertically connected feeding structure, a tapered microstrip balun is fully integrated into one spiral arm of the proposed antenna and hence this construction can be realized completely planar. The measured results show that the return loss is better than 10 dB from 3.75 to 18.6 GHz, the axial ratio is below 3 dB from 3 to 14.5 GHz, the radiation is bidirectional with opposite polarization, and the antenna peak gain is 3.5 to 7 dBic. The time-domain characteristic of the transmitting/receiving system using the proposed ultrawideband (UWB) CP antennas is investigated by transient response. The pulse distortion is insignificant and is verified by the measured antenna performance with high signal fidelity ($geq 0.89$) and low variation of group delay ($leq 0.1~{rm ns}$ ). The transmitting/receiving antenna system using the proposed antennas is constructed to demonstrate the CP characterization and to detect the target position.   相似文献

Using the reverberation chamber to obtain antenna radiation efficiency is considered. The reverberation chamber, which has for many years been used for electromagnetic compatibility measurements, can also be used with great advantage for antenna measurements since it simulates effectively a uniform multipath propagation environment. How a reverberation chamber can be used to measure the ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna efficiency in a very short time is described. The procedure based on time domain is described and some experimental results are given and compared to measurements obtained by the Wheeler cap method extended by Schantz to UWB antennas.  相似文献

基于圆片单极天线是一种结构简单的超宽带天线,研究了一种新型的超宽带天线,它将4个圆片单极天线垂直交叉放置作为馈源并采用平板反射面,实现定向以及双极化或圆极化特性。分析了2种变形形式:将平板反射器换为抛物面反射器,实现高增益特性;将圆片振子变形,实现更宽的低频端阻抗带宽。通过电磁仿真软件,计算了天线的S参量和辐射方向图随频率的变化规律。分析表明文中的天线对于传统的圆片单极天线有了有效的改进,实现了超宽带、定向辐射、双极化、圆极化、高增益等不同的特性,它们在卫星通信和移动通信中具有良好的应用前景。  相似文献

分析了超宽带无线系统中,天线在发射和接收过程中对基带脉冲信号波形的失真影响.采用了天线系统传递函数描述天线的辐射和接收特性,在暗室中对典型的超宽带印刷天线进行频域特性和时域特性的测量,给出了脉冲信号的辐射和接收过程.研究表明结合天线系统传递函数,可以设计出更符合FCC辐射功率掩蔽的脉冲信号,以及选取出波形保真系数最佳的本地模板信号,从而获得全局性能最优的超宽带系统.  相似文献

A planar monopole antenna with a staircase shape and small volume (25/spl times/26/spl times/1 mm/sup 3/) is proposed in this paper. With the use of a half-bowtie radiating element, the staircase-shape, and a modified ground plane structure, the proposed antenna has a very wide impedance bandwidth measured at about 11.6 GHz (2.9-14.5 GHz, bandwidth ratio about 1:5) below VSWR 2 including the WLAN band notched in the vicinity of 5 GHz. An omnidirectional radiation pattern is obtained. The group delay which is an indication of linearity between two proposed antennas is less than 1 ns. The electrical characteristics in terms of frequency and time domains and physical ones of the proposed antenna make it attractive for use in ultrawideband (UWB) systems.  相似文献

A miniaturized couple-line-fed planar ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna is proposed, which has a dual band-notched characteristic as well as two integrated monopoles. Narrowband notches are generated at frequencies of 3.5 GHz and 5.5 GHz using independently controlled bent resonators, whereas the monopoles are designed for radiation at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz. The proposed design is simulated with full wave solvers and verified with measurements. A good agreement is observed between the simulations and measurements for the antenna's return loss, gain and radiation pattern performances.  相似文献

From the current distribution on planar monopoles, transmission line modeling is applied to study this kind of antennas. Some reported techniques for broadband monopoles are approached by using this model from a qualitatively point of view. Conclusions are derived that help to match the monopoles over an ultrawide bandwidth regardless of whether they are folded or not. Folded configurations are obtained in order to provide solutions to specific designs and improve radiation pattern maintaining the planar monopole broadband behavior. Three compact folded prototypes with greater than 1:38 bandwidth are implemented and tested. Pulse distortion is also discussed for this type of applications.  相似文献

Propagation of electromagnetic waves in planar waveguides made of metamaterials with negative values of the relative permittivity and relative permeability is analyzed. The specific features of radiation from antennas manufactured on the basis of planar metamaterial waveguides are studied. It is shown that radiation of such antennas is characterized by the backfire radiation effect, i.e., the maximum of the radiation pattern is formed at 180°. The causes of this effect and the conditions for its appearance are revealed. It is proved that this effect appears only in the antennas manufactured on the basis of metamaterial waveguides with negative values of the relative permittivity and relative permeability. A design version of a scanning two-mode antenna operating on the basis of this effect is proposed.  相似文献

In order to detect very short electromagnetic pulses under 100 ps in width, a wide-band receiving antenna with a bandwidth from 0 to 14 GHz is needed. The usual short dipoles or monopoles do not provide both the required fidelity (bandwidth) and sensitivity. A novel type of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) sensor has been designed, analyzed, and tested. It is simple, inexpensive, and can detect the electromagnetic pulse with both high fidelity and high sensitivity. 超宽带天线和可重构天线是当今天线领域研究的热点。将可重构天线技术应用到超宽带天线设计中,讨论了频率可重构超宽带天线的设计思路。以印刷单极子椭圆天线为原型,给出了两个可重构天线的具体结构,并对天线进行了可重构带阻设计,避免与相关频段之间的干扰。仿真结果表明:重构后天线Ⅱ的低频获得了扩展,其相对尺寸的长和宽分别减小到最大工作波长的0.116倍和0.087倍,工作频段为0.174~10.9GHz,可重构阻带为5.1~5.95GHz,带宽比可高达62:1.  相似文献

A new type of ultra-wide band(UWB) conical antennas ridged by a novel taper finline radiator(TFR) used as radiation and receiving of the short pulse are developed. In which, a new UWB feed structure of a coplanar waveguide to finline and a TFR ridge are used initially. The experiment results show the characteristics of high fidelity, high efficiency, and high gain compared with some common broad-band antennas such as the biconical antennas, V-conical antennas, logarithm periodic antennas, and the other TEM horns.  相似文献

A mechanically flexible planar inverted cone antenna (PICA) for ultrawideband (UWB) applications is presented. It can be both folded and stretched significantly without permanent damage or loss of electrical functionality. The antenna is manufactured with a process in which conductors are realized by injecting room temperature liquid metal alloy into micro-structured channels in an elastic dielectric material. The elastic dielectric material together with the liquid metal enables bending with a very small radius, twisting, and stretching along any direction. Port impedance and radiation characteristics of the non-stretched and stretched antenna are studied in simulations and experiments. The presented antenna has a return loss better than 10 dB within 3-11 GHz and a radiation efficiency of ${> 70}% $ over 3-10 GHz, also when stretched. Tests verify that stretching up to 40% is possible with maintained electrical performance. The presented antenna is useful for example for body-worn antennas and in applications in harsh environments where mechanical flexibility helps improve durability.   相似文献

This paper presents a bandwidth enhanced, compact planar ultra-wideband antenna design for wireless personal area communication (WPAN) applications. The proposed antenna has fractal based geometry and is constructed using several iterations of a pentagon slot inside a circular metallic structure. The partial ground plane of the basic radiator is tapered, defected and a U slit is etched out from the microstrip feed to improve the −10 dB |S11| bandwidth. The proposed fractal based antenna has an impedance bandwidth from 2.9 GHz to 15 GHz with low profile configuration and is fabricated on FR4 substrate with dimensions of 32 mm × 32 mm × 1.6 mm. To authenticate the designed prototype, the antenna is fabricated and tested for impedance and radiation characteristics. The designed antenna has stable radiation characteristics in the operating band. Furthermore, the antenna is validated for its applicability in WPAN, by calculating fidelity factor through time domain analysis along with the transmission coefficient and group delay measurements.  相似文献
