To cope with the high dynamics in engineering science and to comply with the European objectives in academic education the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Vienna University of Technology has introduced new curricula in 2003/04. They comprise (1) a bachelor curriculum, (2) five graduate studies leading to the master degree of “Dipl.-Ing.” and (3) postgraduate studies towards the degree of Doctor of Science. The article describes the new structure and its advantages with respect to flexibility, topicality and mobility for both the alumni and their prospective employers. 相似文献

This survey on the central trends of information technology shows that the old labour market becomes increasingly a market of cognitive processes. Human work and technical information processing compete directly with each other, the latter growing more successful. This situation requires a principally new orientation of education qualifying the homo sapiens informaticus with an adequate complementarity of human and technical information processing. In particular, all old curricula have to be redesigned, the aim being “psychic mobility with information technology”. In this context it is indispensable to make all media systems in schools and universities available as notebooks. Part of this is that the state, being obliged to educate and to train, supplies the proper organizational structures for information access. 相似文献

Trends and future in automation will be characterized by distributed sensors, being wirelessly connected. Shape memory alloys and even concepts of shape control will influence actuator concern. The multitude of operational possibilities increases exponentially with the number of units used in automatic control systems. Virtual systems will be important, design will include reliability, maintainance, economic problems and sustainability. A high number of methods will be incorporated in automation known as the very spread topic of today’s artificial intelligence. Automation will be characterized by humanoid properties and will be more close to biological systems. The design methods in automatic control and computer engineering will be merged. Soft and associative computing and memories as well as multi-agent techniques will be very common. One has to emphasize impact on man, society and environment. 相似文献
