B2O3 was added to nominal composition Zn1.8SiO3.8 (ZS) ceramics to decrease their sintering temperature for application to low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) devices. B2O3 reacted with SiO2 to form a liquid phase containing SiO2 and B2O3. The composition and melting temperature of the liquid phase depended on the sintering temperature and the B2O3 content. The specimen containing 20.0 mol% of B2O3 sintered at 900°C exhibited high microwave dielectric properties of Q × f =53 000 GHz, ɛ r=5.7, and τf=−16 ppm/°C, confirming the promising potential of the B2O3-added ZS ceramics as candidate materials for the LTCC devices.  相似文献

The electrical properties of Sr0.5Ba0.3TiO3 in the presence of Nb2O5 as a donor, 3Li2O · 2SiO2 as a sintering agent, and Bi2O3 as a dopant have been studied. When the compositions of the ceramics were 1 mol Sr0.7Ba0.3TiO3+ 0.5 mol% Nb2O5+ 2 mol% 3Li2O · 2SiO2+ 0.2 mol% Bi2O3, the ceramics were sintered at 1100°C and exhibited the following characteristics: apparent dielectric constant ɛ, 25000; loss factor tan δ, 2%; insulating resistivity ρj, 1010Ω· cm; variation of dielectric constant with temperature Δɛ/ɛ (−25° to +85°C), +10%, −14%. ɛ and tan δ show only small changes with frequency. The study shows this ceramic can be used in multilayer technology.  相似文献

Dolomite-type borate ceramics consisting of CaZrB2O6 were synthesized via a conventional solid-state reaction route; low-temperature sintering was explored using Bi2O3–CuO additives of 1–7 wt% for low-temperature co-fired ceramics applications. For several sintering temperatures, the microwave dielectric properties and chemical resistance of the ceramics were investigated. The CaZrB2O6 ceramics with 3 wt% Bi2O3–CuO addition could be sintered below 925°C, and the microwave dielectric properties of the low-temperature samples were ɛr=10.55, Q × f =87,350 GHz, and τf=+2 ppm/°C. The chemical resistance test result showed that both CaZrB2O6- and Bi2O3–CuO-added CaZrB2O6 ceramics were durable in basic solution but were degraded in acid solution.  相似文献

Li2CO3 was added to Mg2V2O7 ceramics in order to reduce the sintering temperature to below 900°C. At temperatures below 900°C, a liquid phase was formed during sintering, which assisted the densification of the specimens. The addition of Li2CO3 changed the crystal structure of Mg2V2O7 ceramics from triclinic to monoclinic. The 6.0 mol% Li2CO3-added Mg2V2O7 ceramic was well sintered at 800°C with a high density and good microwave dielectric properties of ɛ r=8.2, Q × f =70 621 GHz, and τf=−35.2 ppm/°C. Silver did not react with the 6.0 mol% Li2CO3-added Mg2V2O7 ceramic at 800°C. Therefore, this ceramic is a good candidate material in low-temperature co-fired ceramic multilayer devices.  相似文献

BaCu(B2O5) ceramics were synthesized and their microwave dielectric properties were investigated. BaCu(B2O5) phase was formed at 700°C and melted above 850°C. The BaCu(B2O5) ceramic sintered at 810°C had a dielectric constant (ɛr) of 7.4, a quality factor ( Q × f ) of 50 000 GHz and a temperature coefficient of resonance frequency (τf) of −32 ppm/°C. As the BaCu(B2O5) ceramic had a low melting temperature and good microwave dielectric properties, it can be used as a low-temperature sintering aid for microwave dielectric materials for low temperature co-fired ceramic application. When BaCu(B2O5) was added to the Ba(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BZN) ceramic, BZN ceramics were well sintered even at 850°C. BaCu(B2O5) existed as a liquid phase during the sintering and assisted the densification of the BZN ceramic. Good microwave dielectric properties of Q × f =16 000 GHz, ɛr=35, and τf=22.1 ppm/°C were obtained for the BZN+6.0 mol% BaCu(B2O5) ceramic sintered at 875°C for 2 h.  相似文献

The effect of B2O3–SiO2 liquid-phase additives on the sintering, microstructure, and microwave dielectric properties of LiNb0.63Ti0.4625O3 ceramics was investigated. It was found that the sintering temperature could be lowered easily, and the densification and dielectric properties of LiNb0.63Ti0.4625O3 ceramics could be greatly improved by adding a small amount of B2O3–SiO2 solution additives. No secondary phase was observed for the ceramics with B2O3–SiO2 additives. With the addition of 0.10 wt% B2O3–SiO2, the ceramics sintered at 900°C showed favorable microwave dielectric properties with ɛr=71.7, Q × f =4950 GHz, and τf=−2.1 ppm/°C. The energy dispersive spectra analysis showed an excellent co-firing interfacial behavior between the LiNb0.63Ti0.4625O3 ceramic and the Ag electrode. It indicated that LiNb0.63Ti0.4625O3 ceramics with B2O3–SiO2 solution additives have a number of potential applications on passive integrated devices based on the low-temperature co-fired ceramics technology.  相似文献

Phase stability, sinterability, and microwave dielectric properties of Bi2W2O9 ceramics and their cofireability with Ag, Cu, and Au electrodes have been investigated. Single-phase Bi2W2O9 powder was synthesized by solid-state reaction in air at 800°C for 3 days. X-ray powder diffraction data show Bi2W2O9 to have an orthorhombic crystal structure described by the noncentrosymmetric space group Pna 21, with lattice parameters a =5.4401(8), b =5.4191(8), c =23.713(4) Å. Ceramics fired at temperatures up to 865°C remain single-phase but above this temperature ferroelectric Bi2WO6 appears as a secondary phase. The measured relative permittivity of Bi2W2O9 ceramics increases continuously from 28.6 to 40.7 for compacts fired between 860° and 885°C. The bulk relative permittivity of Bi2W2O9 corrected for porosity was calculated as 41.3. Bi2W2O9 ceramics fired up to 875°C exhibit moderate quality factors, Q × f r, ∼7500–7700 GHz and negative temperature coefficient of resonant frequency, ∼−54 to −63 ppm/°C. Chemical compatibility experiments show Bi2W2O9 ceramics to react with both Ag and Cu electrodes, but to form good contacts with Au electrodes.  相似文献

In this work several complementary techniques have been employed to carefully characterize the sintering and crystallization behavior of CaO–Al2O3–ZrO2–SiO2 glass powder compacts after different heat treatments. The research started from a new base glass 33.69 CaO–1.00 Al2O3–7.68 ZrO2–55.43SiO2 (mol%) to which 5 and 10 mol% Al2O3 were added. The glasses with higher amounts of alumina sintered at higher temperatures (953°C [lower amount] vs. 987°C [higher amount]). A combination of the linear shrinkage and viscosity data allowed to easily find the viscosity values corresponding to the beginning and the end of the sintering process. Anorthite and wollastonite crystals formed in the sintered samples, especially at lower temperatures. At higher temperatures, a new crystalline phase containing ZrO2 (2CaO·4SiO2·ZrO2) appeared in all studied specimens.  相似文献

Phase relations in the system Bi2O3-WO3 were studied from 500° to 1100°C. Four intermediate phases, 7Bi2O3· WO3, 7Bi2O3· 2WO3, Bi2O3· WO3, and Bi2O3· 2WO3, were found. The 7B2O · WO3 phase is tetragonal with a 0= 5.52 Å and c 0= 17.39 Å and transforms to the fcc structure at 784°C; 7Bi2O3· 2WO3 has the fcc structure and forms an extensive range of solid solutions in the system. Both Bi2O3· WO3 and Bi2O3· 2WO3 are orthorhombic with (in Å) a 0= 5.45, b 0=5.46, c 0= 16.42 and a 0= 5.42, b 0= 5.41, c 0= 23.7, respectively. Two eutectic points and one peritectic exist in the system at, respectively, 905°± 3°C and 64 mol% WO3, 907°± 3°C and 70 mol% WO3, and 965°± 5°C and 10 mol% WO3.  相似文献

A type of new low sintering temperature ceramic, Li2TiO3 ceramic, has been found. Although it is difficult for the Li2TiO3 compound to be sintered compactly at temperatures above 1000°C for the volatilization of Li2O, dense Li2TiO3 ceramics were obtained by conventional solid-state reaction method at the sintering temperature of 900°C with the addition of ZnO–B2O3 frit. The sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of Li2TiO3 ceramics with less ZnO–B2O3 frit (≤3.0 wt%) doping were investigated. The addition of ZnO–B2O3 frit can lower the sintering temperature of the Li2TiO3 ceramics, but it does not apparently degrade the microwave dielectric properties of the Li2TiO3 ceramics. Typically, the good microwave dielectric properties of ɛr=23.06, Q × f =32 275 GHz, τf = 35.79 ppm/°C were obtained for 2.5 wt% ZnO–B2O3 frit-doped Li2TiO3 ceramics sintered at 900°C for 2 h. The porosity was 0.08%. The Li2TiO3 ceramic system may be a promising candidate for low-temperature cofired ceramics applications.  相似文献

Lead-free piezoelectric (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3– x wt% Bi2O3 ceramics have been synthesized by an ordinary sintering technique. The addition of Bi2O3 increases the melting point of the system and improves the sintering temperature of (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 ceramics. All samples show a pure perovskite phase with a typical orthorhombic symmetry when the Bi2O3 content <0.7 wt%. The phase transition temperature of orthorhombic–tetragonal ( T O − T ) and tetragonal–cubic ( T C) slightly decreased when a small amount of Bi2O3 was added. The remnant polarization P r increased and the coercive field E c decreased with increasing addition of Bi2O3. The piezoelectric properties of (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 ceramics increased when a small amount of Bi2O3 was added. The optimum piezoelectric properties are d 33=140 pC/N, k p=0.46, Q m=167, and T C=410°C for (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3–0.5 wt% Bi2O3 ceramics.  相似文献

MgSiO3 ceramics were synthesized and their microwave dielectric properties were investigated. The Mg2SiO4 phase was formed at temperatures lower than 1200°C, while the orthorhombic MgSiO3 phase started to form by the reaction of SiO2 and Mg2SiO4 in the specimen fired at 1200°C. The structure of the MgSiO3 ceramics was transformed from orthorhombic to monoclinic when the sintering temperature exceeded 1400°C. A dense microstructure was developed for the specimens sintered at above 1350°C. The excellent microwave dielectric properties of ɛr=6.7, Q × f =121 200 GHz, and τf=−17 ppm/°C were obtained from the MgSiO3 ceramics sintered at 1380°C for 13 h.  相似文献

The effect of a bespoke glass sintering aid, 0.3Bi2O3–0.3Nb2O5–0.3B2O3–0.1SiO2 (BN1), developed from the base ceramic composition, BiNbO4 (BN), on the sinterability, microstructure, and microwave (MW) dielectric properties of BN ceramics has been investigated. Densities >97% theoretical could be achieved at 1020°C for samples with up to 15% BN1 additions. The resulting microstructure was composed of BN laths surrounded by a residual glass phase that contained small fibrous crystals. Some evidence of dissolution of BN crystals was observed. Optimum properties were exhibited for samples with 15 wt% of glass addition sintered for 4 h at 1020°C with a relative permittivity ɛr=38, a MW quality factor Q × f 0=17 353 at 5.6 GHz, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency τf=−10 ppm/°C. The high Q × f 0, ɛr, and low τf, coupled with a relatively low sintering temperature, suggest that the use of bespoke glass sintering aids of this type may have great potential for the fabrication of MW ceramics.  相似文献

Grain growth of ZnO during the liquid-phase sintering of binary ZnO–Bi2O3 ceramics has been studied for Bi2O3 contents from 3 to 12 wt% and sintering from 900° to 1400°C. The results are considered in combination with previously published studies of ZnO grain growth in the ZnO–Bi2O3 system. For the Bi2O3 contents of the present study, the rate of ZnO grain growth is found to decrease with increasing Bi2O3. Activation analysis, when combined with the results of similar analyses of the previous studies, reveals a change in the rate-controlling mechanism for ZnO grain growth. Following a low-Bi2O3-content region of nearly constant activation energy values of about 150 kJ/mol, further Bi2O3 additions cause an increase of the activation energy to about 270 kJ/mol. consistent with accepted models of liquid-phase sintering, it is concluded that the rate-controlling mechanism of ZnO grain growth during liquid-phase sintering in the presence of Bi2O3 changes from one of a phase-boundary reaction at low Bi2O3 levels to one of diffusion through the liquid phase at about the 5 to 6 wt% Bi2O3 level and above.  相似文献

The formation process and microwave dielectric properties of the Mg2V2O7 ceramics were investigated. The MgV2O6 phase that was formed at around 450°C interacted with remnant MgO above 590°C to form a homogeneous monoclinic Mg2V2O7 phase. Finally, this monoclinic Mg2V2O7 phase was changed to a triclinic Mg2V2O7 phase for the specimen fired at 800°C. Sintering at 950°C for more than 5 h produced high-density triclinic Mg2V2O7 ceramics. In particular, the Mg2V2O7 ceramics sintered at 950°C for 10 h exhibited the good microwave dielectric properties of ɛr=10.5, Q × f =58 275 GHz, and τf=−26.9 ppm/°C.  相似文献

The effect of glass addition on the properties of BaO–TiO2-WO3 microwave dielectric material N-35, which has Q = 5900 and K = 35 at 7.2 GHz for samples sintered at 1360°C, was investigated. Several glasses including B2O3, SiO2, 5ZnO–2B2O3, and nine other commercial glasses were selected for this study. Among these glasses, one with a 5 wt% addition of B2O3 to N-35, when sintered at 1200°C, had the best dielectric properties: Q = 8300 and K = 34 at 8.5 GHz. Both Q and K increased with firing temperature as well as with density. The Q of N-35, when sintered with a ZnO–B2O3 glass system, showed a sudden drop in the sintering temperature to about 1000°C. The results of XRD, thermal analysis, and scanning electron microscopy indicated that the chemical reaction between the dielectric ceramics and glass had a greater effect on Q than on the density. The effects of the glass content and the mixing process on the densification and microwave dielectric properties are also presented. Ball milling improved the densification and dielectric properties of the N-35 sintered with ZnO–B2O3.  相似文献

The effects of V2O5 addition on the sintering behavior, microstructure, and the microwave dielectric properties of 5Li2O–0.583Nb2O5–3.248TiO2 (LNT) ceramics have been investigated. With addition of low-level doping of V2O5 (≤2 wt%), the sintering temperature of the LNT ceramics could be lowered down to around 920°C due to the liquid phase effect. A secondary phase was observed at the level of 2 wt% V2O5 addition. The addition of V2O5 does not induce much degradation in the microwave dielectric properties but lowers the τf value to near zero. Typically, the excellent microwave dielectric properties of ɛr=21.5, Q × f =32 938 GHz, and τf=6.1 ppm/°C could be obtained for the 1 wt% V2O5-doped sample sintered at 920°C, which is promising for application of the multilayer microwave devices using Ag as an internal electrode.  相似文献

The sintering behavior and dielectric properties of Bi3NbO7 ceramics prepared by the high-energy ball milling (HEM) method and conventional mixed oxides method with V2O5 addition were investigated. All the samples were sintered between 840° and 960°C. For the ceramics prepared by the mixed oxides method, the pure tetragonal Bi3NbO7 phase formed without any cubic phase. With changing sintering temperature, the dielectric constant ɛr lies between 79 and 92, while the Q × f values are between 300 and 640 GHz. The samples sintered at 870°C have the best microwave dielectric properties with ɛr=79, Q × f =640 GHz, and the temperature coefficients of resonant frequency τf between 0 and −20 ppm/°C. For the ceramics prepared by the HEM, a pure cubic phase was obtained. The ɛr changes between 78 and 80 and Q × f were between 200 and 290 GHz.  相似文献

As a lead-free positive temperature coefficient of resistivity (PTCR) material, (1– x mol%) BaTiO3– x mol% (Bi1/2K1/2) TiO3– y mol% Y2O3–0.5 mol% TiO2 (BT– x BKT–2 y Y–0.5TiO2) systems were prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method. All samples containing <2 mol% BKT sintered in air possessed relatively low room-temperature resistivity (ρ25) and high positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect. However, when the BKT content exceeded 2 mol%, the sample was not semiconductive after sintering in air. The effects of sintering schedule on the properties of PTCR ceramics were discussed. The results showed that the optimum composition of BT–1BKT–0.2Y–0.5TiO2, sintered at 1330°C for not-soaking and then fast quenched in air, achieved rather low ρ25 of 28 Ω·cm and a high jump of resistivity (maximum resistivity [ρmax]/minimum resistivity [ρmin]) of 4.0 orders of magnitude with T c about 155°C. The ρ25 of the as-sintered sample could be further reduced to about 10 Ω·cm by annealing in N2 at 450°C for 30 min, accompanied decrease on the PTC effect.  相似文献

High-quality alumina ceramics were fabricated by a hot pressing with MgO and SiO2 as additives using α-Al2O3-seeded nanocrystalline γ-Al2O3 powders as the raw material. Densification behavior, microstructure evolution, and mechanical properties of alumina were investigated from 1250°C to 1450°C. The seeded γ-Al2O3 sintered to 98% relative density at 1300°C. Obvious grain growth was observed at 1400°C and plate-like grains formed at 1450°C. For the 1350°C hot-pressed alumina ceramics, the grain boundary regions were generally clean. Spinel and mullite formed in the triple-grain junction regions. The bending strength and fracture toughness were 565 MPa and 4.5 MPa·m1/2, respectively. For the 1300°C sintered alumina ceramics, the corresponding values were 492 MPa and 4.9 MPa·m1/2.  相似文献
