There is increasing public concern about biological interactions with and the potential health effects of low frequency electric and magnetic fields. Recently, the ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) has published new exposure guidelines with regard to these fields. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the calculation of the currents and electric fields induced in the human body by external electric fields at 60 Hz, using numerical human models of anatomically-realistic human bodies, and to compare those results with the basic restrictions proposed by the new guidelines. As a result, in the case that a human is exposed to an electric field of 1 kV/m at 60 Hz the short-circuit current of 18 μA flows though the ankles. Furthermore, the electric field of 40 mV/m in the nervous tissue of the adult model is induced by exposure to external electric fields at the reference level, which is enough smaller than the basic restrictions established in the ICNIRP guidelines for occupational exposure.  相似文献

An overview of V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology is presented in this paper, it aims to highlight the main features, opportunities and requirements of V2G. Thus, after briefly resuming the most popular charging strategies lbr PEVs (plug-in electric vehicles), the V2G concept is introduced, especially highlighting its potentiality as a revenue opportunity |br PEV owners: this is mainly due to the V2G ability to provide ancillary services, such as load leveling, regulation and reserve. Such solutions have been thoroughly investigated in the literature from both the economic and technical points of view and are here reported. In addition, V2G requirements such as mobility needs, charging stations availability and appropriate PEV aggregative architectures are properly taken into account. The current need to fasten the implementation of renewable energies greatly depends on the development of competitive storage devices, and while there is not a single technology which is likely capable to competitively cover the wide range of possible demands, electrochemical technologies are one of the most promising for many of them. For the realization of this promise, new materials fulfilling criteria such as high energy density, high power density, competitive cost, reliability, and environmental compatibility need to be developed in the near future. Electrochemical energy storage devices can be classified into two main technologies: supercapacitors and batteries (including redox flow batteries). Materials and applications for these technologies are discussed and compared, listing current status, technical and strategic challenges.  相似文献

This paper reports the results of investigating the permissible amount of battery deterioration. An investigation was carried out using the following two types of vehicles: a BEV (battery electric vehicle) and a HEV (hybrid electric vehicle). First, a detailed evaluation was carried out to identify how the vehicle performance was adversely affected as the lithium-ion batteries installed in the vehicles deteriorated. Next, an attempt was made to determine the permissible amount of deterioration for the vehicle-mounted lithium-ion batteries. In the case of the BEV, the driving distance declined by 20% when the capacity maintenance rate was approximately 80%. Therefore, this was specified as the permissible amount of battery deterioration for the BEV. In the case of the HEV, the fuel consumption increased by 20% when the maximum battery output maintenance rate was approximately 40%. Therefore, this was specified as the permissible amount of battery deterioration for the HEV.  相似文献

Distribution networks face an increasing penetration of solar PV (photovoltaic) and small WTG (wind turbine generator) as well as other forms of micro-generation. To this scenario, one must add the dissemination of non-linear loads such as EV (electric vehicles). There is something in common between those loads and sources: the extensive use of power electronic converters with commutated switches. These devices may be a source of medium-to-high frequency harmonic distortion and their impact on the local distribution grid must be carefully assessed in order to evaluate their negative impacts on the network, on the existing conventional loads and also on other active devices. In this paper, methodologies to characterize effects such as: harmonics, network unbalances, damaging power line resonance conditions, and over/under voltages are described and applied to a real local grid configuration.  相似文献

In this paper, a new control method for synchronous motor with excitation and damper windings is presented. It is based on one type of nonlinear control; feedback linearization control. To make a realization in the sense of electric drive, symmetricM space vector PWM (pulse width modulation) is applied. Estimation of damper winding currents via Lyapunov function for the whole estimated system is done. The aim of control is to make tracking system for rotor speed and square of stator flux. Simulation of motor starting to predefined operating points is done, and also maintaining these points during step change of load torque is obtained. Simulations give good results.  相似文献

Focusing on the stack performance is important for practical use of PEM (proton exchange membrane) fuel cells. This paper describes the experiments and evaluation on the performance of 1-kW class PEM FC (fuel cell) stacks for reliability improvement. We investigated the stack performance, voltage distributions, and internal resistance of the single cells of a PEMFC stack. The standard deviation of individual cell voltages increased almost linearly with the current load by 2.5 times that in the case of an open-circuit voltage, with a standard deviation of 33 A. From the results of the current-interrupt tests, the internal resistance of the FC stack was calculated to be 43.53 mΩ. The internal resistances of each individual cell were not uniform. The average internal resistance was 0.505 mΩ at 18 A, which was less than that calculated from the stack current-interrupt test. We also investigated the current distribution in the PEM FC stack under in-situ conditions using a triaxial magnetic sensor probe. From the results, the current distribution tended to concentrate on the underside of the cell. Each I-V curve at the divided plane can be obtained using the developed method.  相似文献

Estimating CO2 emission factor of the electricity system is a key aspect in the calculation of the baseline emissions for projects certified as CDM (Clean Development Mechanism), which replace energy from the grid. Currently, Uruguay is driving the expansion of the electricity system based on domestic renewable energies, in addition to replacing oil-based fuels for others with lower emission factors. This implies a substantial change of the generation park in the next decade and of the associated CO2 emissions. In this paper, a calculation methodology of the baseline emissions is adapted for its incorporation in the software SimSEE (Electric Energy Systems Simulator), which is used for modeling the Uruguayan electric system, and therefore, allows modeling the current energy generator park and the future one. Using this tool, the CO2 emission factor's evolution is evaluated in the 2012-2020 period. The 2020 scenario is based on an optimal expansion of the electric system. The results indicate a strong reduction of the emission factor between 2012 and 2020, going from average values (for 100 simulations) around 0.60 tCO2/MWh to 0.15 tCO2/MWh. In this possible future scenario, CDM certification will probably not act as a strong incentive in Uruguay for the development of projects based on non-traditional renewable energies.  相似文献

PHEVs (passenger plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) have shown significant fuel reduction potential. Furthermore, PHEVs can also improve longitudinal vehicle dynamics with respect to acceleration and engine elasticity. The objective of this study is to investigate potential of concurrent optimization of fuel efficiency and driving performance. For the studies, a backward vehicle model for a parallel PHEV was designed, where the power flow is calculated from the wheels to the propulsion units, the conventional ICE (internal combustion engine) and the EMG (electric motor/generator) unit. The hybrid drive train is according to a P2 layout, consequently the EMG is situated between the shifting clutch and the ICE. The implemented operation strategy distributes the power to both propulsion units depending on the vehicle speed, requested driving torque, the battery's SOC (state of charge) and SOP (state of power). Additional information, such as the slope of the road, can be taken into account by the operation strategy. In the paper, the fuel saving potential as well as the longitudinal dynamics change of different PHEV configurations is presented as a function of battery capacity and EMG power. Consequently, applicable hybrid components can be defined. By using additional information of the environment like various sensor data, road slope amongst others, the fuel saving potential can be improved even more. By studying the dynamic model, the overall results of the backward model are confirmed. In conclusion, this study shows that it is possible to concurrently reduce fuel consumption and increase driving performance in PHEVs. The potential depends strongly on the configuration of the electric components and the implemented operation strategy. Consequently, the hybrid system configuration has to be chosen carefully and aligned to the vehicle performance.  相似文献

Policies and initiatives promoting carbon neutrality in the Nordic heating and transport systems are presented. The focus within heating systems is the promotion of HPs (heat pumps) while the focus within transport systems is initiatives regarding EVs (electric vehicles). It is found that the conversion to HPs in the Nordic region relies on both private economic and national economic incentives. Initiatives toward carbon neutrality in the transport system are mostly concentrated on research, development and demonstration for deployment of a large number of EVs. All Nordic countries have plans for the future heating and transport systems with the ambition of realizing carbon neutrality.  相似文献

Due to the higher reliability and small ground space requirement, compressed GIS (gas insulated substation) has found extensive applications in urban areas and developing countries. The major parts of GIS is the gas insulated busducts, circuit breakers, isolators, etc.. The voltage withstand capability of SF6 (sulphur hexafluoride) busduct is strongly dependent on field perturbations such as those caused by conductor surface imperfections and by conducting particle contaminants which arise due to manufacturing process, mechanical vibrations, moving parts of system etc.. Contamination can create insulation problems at operating fields. An optimized design of GIS by varying the inner and outer diameter to 89 mm and 241 mm is considered for analysis and compared with a single phase enclosure with outer diameter as 152 mm and inner conductor diameter of 55 mm with aluminum and copper particles of size 10 mm in length and 0.25 mm in radius present on the enclosure. The results have been compared on the extent of particle movement for the same condition of the gas and particle geometry. Monte Carlo simulation is also carried out for determining the motion of particles in axial and radial directions. The random solid angle is changed from 1 to 0.5 degrees to take into account more smooth end profile of the particle. The simulation results have been presented and analyzed.  相似文献

Simulation has proven to be an effective tool for analyzing pipeline network systems (PNS) in order to determine the design and operational variables which are essential for evaluating the performance of the system. This paper discusses the use of simulation for performance analysis of transmission PNS. A simulation model was developed for determining flow and pressure variables for different configuration of PNS. The mathematical formulation for the simulation model was derived based on the principles of energy conservation, mass balance, and compressor characteristics. For the determination of the pressure and flow variables, solution procedure was developed based on iterative Newton Raphson scheme and implemented using visual C++6. Evaluations of the simulation model with the existing pipeline network system showed that the model enabled to determine the operational variables with less than ten iterations. The performances of the compressor working in the pipeline network system xvhich includes energy consumption, compression ratio and discharge pressure were evaluated to meet pressure requirements ranging from 4000-5000 kPa at various speed. Results of the analyses from the simulation indicated that the model could be used for performance analysis to assist decisions regarding the design and optimal operations of transmission PNS.  相似文献

Lack of up-to-date information on efficient operation and maintenance of EPDS (electric power distribution systems), Nigeria is addressed by designing and implementing an indigenous real-time monitoring and diagnosis system. The system encompasses the development of software driven hardware positioned at the remotely located sub-stations at the low voltage level to keep track of the network in real-time. The detection of faults exploits threshold passing algorithm through continuous monitoring of the network power quality. Communication between the RTU (remote terminal unit) and the DCC (distribution control center) which is based on GSM is initiated by disturbance. The DCC performs fault evaluation processing using the received data and predetermined faults signatures to determine the nature of disturbance and presents the result in graphic user interface environment. A fault reporting time of 2 s was achieved. The developed system exhibits a high degree of accuracy and manifests no spurious reports during testing. The resultant system limits the effects of interruption and increases power availability by reducing the down time. The system strengthens engineering and management capabilities required to enhance reliability by providing information about the network health status.  相似文献

VFDs (variable frequency drives) are an integral part of many industrial plants and stations. Reliable operation and maintenance of these drives is vital to ensure sustained plant operation and availability. Understanding of the principles of operation of VFD systems as well as knowledge about their required operating environment is necessary for all operating personnel. Many times the operating personnel do not get involved with different technical issues until a complete failure has occurred. Hence, the awareness of the most dominant failure causes has a significant impact on assisting operators to avoid catastrophic failures and tremendous economic losses due to VFD shutdown. Proper plant design, accurate monitoring and data logging, following manufacturer preventive maintenance schedule, and choosing qualified team of operators can be the key to an efficient operation and a long lifetime for any VFD system. In this paper, we have analyzed the electrical and non-electrical causes of VFD failures based on a case study of a typical medium voltage VFD pumping station. Finally, recommendations are given from field analysis and observations.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to use magnetic field of 50/60 Hz up to 0.2 mT for energy source. This paper focuses on magnetic energy harvesting from electrical appliances which can be also used for power consumption monitoring. The magnetic energy harvesting device consists of an energy harvesting module, Cockcroft-Walton circuit and storage capacitor. First of all, typical magnetic fields around several electrical appliances are investigated. In order to harvest 10 mJ energy, the shape of magnetic flux concentration flange in energy harvesting module and number of steps in Cockcroft-Walton circuit are considered. From experimental results, magnetic energy harvesting of 17 mJ from a refrigerator is successfully demonstrated.  相似文献

Transformers are normally designed and built for use at rated frequency and sinusoidal load current. A non-linear load on a transformer leads to harmonic power losses which cause increased operational costs and additional heating in transformer parts. It leads to higher losses, early fatigue of insulation, premature failure and reduction of the useful life of the transformer. To prevent these problems, the rated capacity of transformer which supplies harmonic loads must be reduced. In this work, a typical 50 kVA three-phase distribution transformer with real practical parameters is taken under non-linear loads generated due to domestic loads. The core losses is evaluated using the three dimensional model of the transformer developed in FEM (finite element method) program based on valid model of transformer under high harmonic conditions. And finally a relation associated with core losses and amplitude of high harmonic order are reviewed & analyzed and then a comparison is being carried out on the results obtained by different excitation current in transformer windings.  相似文献

The demand for short term energy storage providing high power for electric and hybrid-electric vehicles is increasing drastically. Stationary FESS (flywheel energy storage systems) is established as UPS (uninterruptible power supply) and represent an emerging market. In contrast, mobile FESSs are currently only used in a few application, e.g., in motor sports. To enable a wider use in personal and public transportation the life-span of the flywheel's bearings needs to be increased significantly. This paper presents an alternative approach to extend the lifespan of the flywheel's bearings significantly by using a CREAMB (combination of rolling element and active magnetic bearings).  相似文献

The present article covers briefly state of the art software interoperability technical solutions and the development of the first module of a new single platform D & A (design & analysis) tool for simulation and prediction of stress and burst behavior of turbine rotating disc a preliminary design stage. This platform singularity requires integration of multiple CAD (computer assisted design) & FEA (finite element analysis) tools processing in batch mode and driven from a SPIE (single platform integration environment). This first module is also to demonstrate, for an axial turbine disc hub axi-symmetric component, feasibility and usefulness of such a platform at preliminary design stage. Gortler vortices are key issues in the design of gas turbine blades. The present study deals with flow visualization over concave surface for gas turbine applications. The aim is to comprehend qualitatively the flow trends, particularly the Gortler vortices formation and development. Gortler vortices have the shape of mushroom-like vortices regularly spaced at 25 mm. These vortices grow and increase in strength more rapidly along the surface in the case of the same grid of turbulence applied to the measuring section. The curvature radius of the studied blade is 0.5 m and the stream turbulence intensity level is 2.6%. The velocity field is measured by hot wire anemometer in the streamwise direction. The velocity profile is found to be highly distorted by the momentum transfer associated with Gortler vortices. The results are compared to Blasius flow and to literature data for a blade with curvature radius equal to 2 m.  相似文献
