The magnetocaloric effect in alloys Gd(Al1-xCox)2 with x = 0, 0.05, and 0.10 were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and magnetization measurements. It was found that three alloys crystallized in a single phase with MgCu2-type structure. The lattice parameter and Curie temperature decreased with increasing Co content, whereas the magnetic-entropy change increased. With a magnetic-field change of 2 T, the maximum of the magnetic-entropy change reached 4.6 J·kg^-1·K^-1 near Curie temperature at approximately 95 K in the alloy GdAl1.8Co0.2, which appeared to be an alternative candidate for active magnetic refrigerants working in the temperature range centered at 100 K.  相似文献

The reaction of gadolinium with fluorine was studied in a low pressure, transonic flow reactor. Atomic fluorine reactant was generated by microwave discharge dissociation of F2 in argon. Kinetic measurements included the rate of change of the electrical resistance of isothermal gadolinium filaments due to reaction with atomic and molecular fluorine and the intensity of chemiluminescence from the vapor phase Gd/F2 reactionvs time, temperature, and F2 partial pressure. The surfaces of reacted Gd specimens were examined by scanning electron microscopy, polished specimen cross sections were viewed under the optical microscope, and the Gd/F2 chemiluminescent emission spectrum was obtained. A nonpassivating, metal rich, high melting and involatile fluoride, GdFx, forms on the metal at temperatures above 1180 K. An orthorhombic, passivating GdF3 forms at lower temperatures. The surface Gd activity remains high at the GdFx/fluorine interface, and F-atom reaction is first order with a reaction probability approximately 0.28. Rapid reaction atT < 1180 K is followed by an abrupt transition to passivated behavior. This change in reactivity is attributed to a phase transition from GdFx to orthorhombic GdF3 that occurs as the oxygen impurity concentration of the reacting metal decreases from its value near the original specimen surface to that of the bulk material.  相似文献

Sets of benzimidazole and benzotriazole derivatives bearing on position 1 or 2 a tetrahydrofuranyl or tetrahydropyranyl moieties were prepared through the addition of the suitable benzazoles on 2,3-dihydrofuran and 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran. The reactions were carried on either without solvent or in carbon tetrachloride solution. In the last case some peculiar chlorinated side products were isolated and characterized. Twenty compounds were screened for in vitro antitumoral and anti-HIV-1 activities and found poorly active or completely inactive. On the other hand several compounds exhibited good tracheal relaxant activity in vitro; compound 8, 11, 16, 24 and 26 resulted more active than theophylline in this test, while compound 11 was comparable to amrinone till the concentration of 3 micrograms/ml. Finally, compound 5 resulted endowed with a strong diuretic and saluretic activity at the dose of 3 mg/Kg, thus representing a new lead for discovering new diuretic agents.  相似文献
