The aim of the present study was to assess the relationship between the disappearance of dietary fibre sugars and the production of individual short-chain fatty acids (SCFA). The bacterial degradation of five dietary fibres whose sugars were quantified was investigated in vitro using a human faecal inoculum. Involvement of the main fibre sugars in SCFA production was evaluated by a stepwise multiple linear regression. The results show first that the nature and chiefly the associations between the fibre sugars were key variables in the fermentability. Second, the nature and the amounts of SCFA produced were closely related to the in vitro fermentation of the main sugars available: uronic acids seemed to be principally involved in the production of acetic acid whereas the production of propionic acid could be promoted by the fermentation of glucose and, to a lesser extent, by that of xylose and arabinose. Xylose tended to have a greater impact than uronic acids and glucose on the production of butyric acid. Thus, it would be possible to predict which SCFA could be specifically produced during the fermentation of a fibre, as far as the chemical composition and structure of this fibre are known.  相似文献

1. Ducklings were given diets with vegetable protein (VP) and 0 or 600 g rice bran/kg; fish meal (60 g/kg) and a phytase (+, -) were added to the diets (VP + AP). An additional 40 g soyabean meal/kg was added to the diet with rice bran (VP ++). Amino acid digestibility and mineral retention were measured in the lower ileum of ducklings killed at 23 d of age. Acid insoluble ash was used as an inert marker. Trypsin and amylase activities were also measured and weights of the pancreas and small intestine recorded at slaughter. 2. Addition of soyabean meal (VP ++) to the diet with rice bran improved growth rate and food intake compared to the diet without (VP) and gave the same food intake and growth rate as the comparable basal diet (VP) without rice bran. Fish meal improved growth rate on the diets without rice bran and improved food intake on this diet (VP + AP). Rice bran depressed growth rate and food conversion ratio (FCR); protein source affected growth rate, food intake and FCR; phytase increased food intake only. There were several interactions. 3. Determined total amino acid composition of the diets appeared to meet the essential amino acid requirements of ducklings. Rice bran depressed the ileal digestibility of virtually all amino acids and phytase had no direct effect, although there were interactions. Fish meal addition to diets with rice bran improved the apparent digestibility of several essential amino acids as well as that of dry matter and crude protein. 4. Ileal retention of some minerals and tibia ash content were reduced by rice bran. Fish meal and phytase inclusion increased P retention and ash in tibia. 5. Higher intestinal trypsin activity and increased pancreas size were seen in ducklings on diets with rice bran compared to those without. Intestinal amylase activity was reduced in ducklings given rice bran, probably because of its low starch content. 6. The stimulating effect of fish meal on duckling performance was probably caused in part by the improvement in the digestibility of some amino acids. The addition of small amounts of minerals in fish meal may have increased mineral retention. Phytase gave benefits anticipated from our previous work, but also improved lysine and threonine digestibility in diets containing vegetable protein only.  相似文献

Holstein steers were used to compare rations in which coffee grounds replaced grain at rates of 0, 5, 10, or 20%. The coffee grounds analyzed (%) dry matter 91.1, protein 11.8, fat 23.1, fiber 42.5, ash .7, and caffeine .13. Digestibility coefficients for dry matter, crude protein, and energy decreased, and ether extract increased progressively as concentrations of coffee grounds in the ration were increased. There was a significant decrease in nitrogen retention and utilization when the rations contained 10 or 20% coffee grounds. Coffee grounds depressed feed intake, increased urinary output, and increased water intake (based on dry matter intake). Coffee grounds caused diuresis and renal, urethral, and bladder irritation. Adding coffee grounds up to 35% of the substrate did not depress rumen microbial fermentation, as measured by in vitro gas production. Weight gain of rats fed rations containing 22.5% untreated coffee grounds was reduced significantly. Water extraction removed some undersirable factors in coffee grounds for rats, and ether extraction removed most of them. Incremental additions of coffee oil (1, 3, or 5%) to the basal diet resulted in incremental decreases in rat weight gain.  相似文献

Objectives of this study were to determine the influence of five donor cow diets that differed in source of fiber on true in vitro DM digestibility of eight forages. Test forages included two alfalfa (31.2 and 38.3% NDF), corn silage (50.2% NDF), oat forage (48.2% NDF), perennial rye (62.1% NDF), two reed canarygrasses (55.9 and 68.1% NDF), and timothy (68.2% NDF). Sources of fiber in donor cow diets were alfalfa haylage or alfalfa haylage plus either corn cobs, cottonseed hulls, oat hulls, or soy hulls. In addition, the effect of filtering through sintered glass crucibles or filter paper (two replicates each) was evaluated. There were differences (P < .01) among feeds in in vitro DM digestibility, but there were no interactions (P > .05) between test forages and either source of fiber in donor diets or filtration method. There was an interaction between source of fiber in the donor diet and method of filtration (P < .01). Samples inoculated with ruminal fluid from cows fed diets with oat hulls or soy hulls had lower (P < .01) in vitro DM digestibility when filtered on crucibles than on filter paper. Filtration method did not affect (P > .05) in vitro DM digestibility of samples inoculated with ruminal fluid from other diets. The in vitro DM digestibility of samples inoculated with ruminal fluid from cows fed alfalfa haylage was less than the in vitro DM digestibility when other inocula were used. The source of fiber in the donor cow diet and filtration method can affect in vitro DM digestibility, but relative ranking of forages was unaffected by these variables.  相似文献

农作物秸秆与塑料的共混材料,是一类新的木塑复合材料(WPC).光降解性是WPC的主要特征之一.本文以低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)为基体,分别与天然稻草和环氧氯丙烷改性稻草共混制成稻草/PE复合材料,在耐候试验箱中进行加速老化试验,研究材料的光降解性能.经过576 h老化,PE/天然稻草复合材料失重率约0.27%,PE/改性稻草复合材料失重率为0.22%~0.27%,两种材料的失重率无明显差异.老化前,PE/改性稻草复合材料的力学性能优于PE/天然稻草复合材料,而老化后,前者的力学性能差于后者.拉伸断面SEM照片表明,PE在改性界面包覆性好,改性稻草在PE基体中分布均匀,紫外光对PE/改性稻草复合材料的破坏更严重,力学性能下降更显著.  相似文献

The study concerns the effect of angiotensin II when infused into the systemic and portal blood flow upon the general and renal haemodynamics in normal dogs and in hypertensive animals, as well as the effect of the operation of porto-caval transposition upon the course of renovascular hypertension. When peptide is infused, at a rate that causes a moderate pressor effect, into the systemic blood flow of normal animals, an antidiuretic and antinatriuretic effect is obtained, in hypertensive animals--an increase of diuresis, natriuresis and a less distinct pressor effect are obtained. When angiotensin II is infused into the portal flow, a less distinct pressor and renal effect is seen in animals with renovascular hypertension. The operation of porto-caval transposition of the vessels results in a hypotensive effect in the animals with renovascular hypertension.  相似文献

Annexin V has a calcium-dependent binding affinity for anionic phospholipids and activated platelets, and prevents prothrombinase activity. We investigated the clinical significance of IgG anti-annexin V antibodies in patients with SLE. The study population consisted of 140 patients with SLE. Sera were examined for IgG anti-annexin V antibodies by ELISA. IgG anti-annexin V antibodies were detected in 27 of 140 patients (19%). Significantly higher incidences of arterial or venous thrombosis, intrauterine fetal loss, and prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time were found in patients with anti-annexin V antibodies than in those without anti-annexin V antibodies. Three patients with thrombosis were found not to have anticardiolipin antibodies, but to show sustained serological reactions for anti-annexin V antibodies, irrespective of prednisolone administration. These results indicated the clinical characteristics of SLE patients with anti-annexin V antibodies, and that these antibodies may be associated with the pathogenesis of thrombotic events.  相似文献

由于粉末注射成形(PowderInjectionMolding,PIM)产品具有很高的形状复杂度,故此工艺目前在工业界被广泛应用。其中铁系合金与不锈钢由于其性质优良,因此在近年来被广泛的使用在PIM工艺上。不过,由于粉末注射成形的粉末固体含量低,从生坯到最后的烧结工件,常伴随很大收缩(>12%)。使得此工艺之尺寸稳定性相对于其他工艺而言,是较差的。为了改善尺寸稳定性的问题,本研究针对升温速率、烧结温度以及相变态行为分别做探讨。试验结果显示,在全部步骤中,烧结过程有最大的收缩量,所以在此阶段中之尺寸稳定性最不容易控制,而较快的升温速率以及相变态的产生更造成此问题之恶化。本试验结果显示,使用较慢的升温速率,在烧结过程中避免相变态的发生,以及调整合金成分可大幅改善PIM件的尺寸稳定性。  相似文献

The effect of chemical composition of sunflower seed meal (SFSM) on TMEn and true amino acid digestibility (TAAD) was studied. In Experiment 1, the excretion pattern of three SFSM samples force-fed (30 g) to 10 adult cockerels (Hy-Line) each was followed for 84 h to determine the time interval for complete excretion of SFSM. Type of SFSM did not affect the excretion pattern of DM and energy (P=0.438, and P=0.189, respectively). Dry matter and energy excreted every 12 h decreased linear and quadratically (P < 0.001) with collection time. No differences were found from 48 h collection time on. So, an excreta collection period of 48 h was considered adequate for determining the TMEn of SFSM. In Experiment 2, 135 adult cockerels were force-fed to determine the TMEn of 11 samples of SFSM. Type of SFSM affected TMEn (P < 0.001), which ranged from 1,558 to 2,023 kcal/kg DM for SFSM of 31 to 42% CP, respectively. The TMEn was highly correlated (P < 0.001) to hemicellulose (r=-0.90), acid detergent lignin (r=-0.84), neutral detergent fiber (r=-0.82), and CP (r=0.77). Four prediction equations are proposed, the most practical being: TMEn (kcal/kg DM)=2,816.8 - 109.5 hemicellulose (%DM), RSD=70.2. Three out of the 11 samples of SFSM were selected for determining TAAD and the effect of endogenous amino acid correction. The methodology used was that of the TMEn assay, but one more estimation of amino acid endogenous excretion was made using a N-free diet with 85% cornstarch and 15% cellulose. Endogenous amino acid excretion was greater for roosters fed the N-free diet than those deprived of feed, resulting in a higher digestibility (from 0.7 to 2.7%, P < 0.05) only for six amino acids: threonine, valine, alanine, proline, and aspartic and glutamic acids. No interaction was detected (P=0.94) between type of SFSM and method of estimation of endogenous amino acid excretion. The TAAD of SFSM increased significantly (P < 0.001) with the CP content, total TAAD being 86, 88, and 89% for SFSM of 32, 35, and 37% CP, respectively. Attention should be paid when including high fiber-low protein SFSM in poultry diets to balance its lesser digestible amino acids contribution, mainly in lysine (from 0.77 to 1.06% for SFSM of 32 and 37% CP, respectively).  相似文献

Previous clinical studies have shown that nutrients and probiotic agents can alter the composition of the vaginal flora. The present in vitro study has shown that uropathogens have a growth advantage over lactobacilli, but potentially there are natural substances that could be applied vaginally to stimulate lactobacilli growth to the detriment of the pathogens. When chemically defined medium representative of vaginal fluid at pH 5.5 was supplemented with skim milk, it acted as a better substrate for Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1 than for uropathogenic bacteria and Candida albicans. Lactobacillus MRS medium, even at pH 4.5, supports the growth of pathogens, but when supplemented with ascorbic acid or EDTA, Lactobacillus growth was significantly higher. When L. rhamnosus GR-1 was coincubated in a combined nutrient composition of vitamins and lactose, it survived better than Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis. These in vitro results provide a basis for testing nutritional supplements to alter the urogenital flora in an attempt to enhance restoration and maintenance of a normal disease-free state.  相似文献

Dietary fiber from eight vegetables (broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, lettuce, onion and radish) was analyzed for chemical composition and potential in vitro fermentation by human fecal bacteria. Total dietary fiber concentration of substrates ranged from 34.9 (broccoli) to 5.8 (cucumber) g/kg edible matter. Substrate fiber fractions were composed primarily of pectic substances and cellulose with smaller concentrations of hemicelluloses and lignin. Total dietary fiber residues isolated from substrates were fermented in vitro for 24 h with fecal bacteria obtained from each of three human volunteers. Substrate dry matter disappearance during fermentation was highest for carrot (63.7%) and lowest for cucumber (49.4%). Averaged across all substrates, disappearances of arabinose, galactose, glucose, mannose, xylose and uronic acids during fermentation were 96, 90, 54, 68, 51 and 97%, respectively. Short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production during substrate fermentation averaged 10.5 mmol SCFA/g dry matter fermented. Averaged across all substrates, production of the major SCFA, acetate, propionate and butyrate, occurred in the molar ratio 76:14:10. Potential water-holding capacity of substrates was not influenced by fiber source and averaged 2.04 g H2O/g original substrate dry matter. Extent of substrate fermentation, SCFA production and substrate potential water-holding capacity were significantly different among inoculum donors, indicating that considerable inter-individual variation exists in the potential in vivo fermentation of vegetable fiber.  相似文献

1. In the first of 2 experiments ducklings grown from 2 to 19 d were given diets with 0, 200 or 400 g rice bran, with or without a phytase and with 1 or 3 g inorganic phosphorus (Pi) per kg for rice bran-based diets only. In the 2nd experiment rice bran concentrations were 0, 300 or 600 g rice bran per kg with or without a phytase and 1 g Pi/kg. Ducks were grown from 19 to 40 d of age. 2. In experiment 1, a response to phytase was observed for weight gain and food intake on most diets except those with 200 g rice bran (3 g Pi) and 4.00 g rice bran (1 g P)i/kg. Main effects showed that 400 g rice bran depressed growth rate and food conversion ratio (FCR); increasing Pi depressed food intake, while food phytase increased food intake and growth rate over 2 to 19 d. There were several interactions. Dry matter and P retention were reduced but N digestibility improved when rice bran was increased from 200 g to 400 g/kg at 2 to 10 d of age; apparent metabolisable energy (AME) and calcium retentions were improved, similar results being seen at 10 to 19 d of age. Calcium and P retentions increased with the addition of food phytase and, at 10 to 19 d of age, phytase increased dry matter digestibility. Increasing Pi improved calcium and P retention, but only at 2 to 10 d of age. 3. Tibia ash (g or g/kg) content of bone was lowest on the diet without rice bran and without phytase; Pi concentration had no effect but phytase increased tibia ash on diets with 0 and 200 g rice bran and 1 g Pi/kg. Retention of several minerals in tibia ash declined at the highest rice bran inclusion rate; Pi level and phytase both increased Mg retention. 4. In experiment 2, food intake and growth rate of ducks, but not FCR, declined as rice bran inclusion increased from 0 to 600 g/kg. Phytase improved growth rate but not food intake and FCR on all 3 diets. Dry matter digestibility declined with increasing rice bran inclusion, but AME increased; retention of P and Mg declined but those of Ca and Fe increased. Phytase improved dry matter digestibility and retention of N and P. AME also increased but this was only on diets with 0 and 600 g rice bran/kg. There were reductions of 8% and 10% in P excreted in experiments 1 and 2 respectively when food phytase was added. 5. Tibia ash declined with increasing dietary inclusion of rice bran. Zn and Mn in ash tended to decline and Mg to increase; Ca and P showed no change in concentration in tibia ash. Again, phytase increased tibia ash content in bone. 6. It was concluded that there were a number of unexpected benefits from adding a food phytase to these diets, which resulted in improved nutrient yield and bird performance, although several of the diets appeared to be adequate in available P.  相似文献

Dry matter degradability (DMD), gas production (GP), functional specific gravity (FSG), volume of gas associated (GA), water-holding capacity (WHC), and sedimentation measurements of orchard-grass (OG) and alfalfa (AA) hays (ground through a 8-mm screen) were studied before and after in vitro incubation with ruminal fluid for 2, 4, 8, 24, 48, and 72 h. The DMD was higher for AA than for OG (P < .001), but GP did not differ. The FSG of unfermented OG and AA was .59 and .73, respectively (P < .01). During fermentation, the FSG of OG increased more than did that of AA (from .93 to 1.39 for OG and from .97 to 1.27 for AA after 2 and 72 h, respectively), and GA decreased more rapidly (from .94 to -.04 mL/g DM and from .74 to .15 mL/g DM, respectively). The DMD was positively correlated with FSG (r = .83; P < .001) and, therefore, negatively with GA (r = -.72; P < .01). The WHC increased similarly in the two forages with fermentation time. Unfermented and fermented samples were incubated in sedimentation columns filled with distilled water for 19, 37, 75, 150, and 300 s. After 300 s of sedimentation time, the unfermented AA and OG samples tended to float (91.1 and 72.7% of DM, respectively). In contrast, fermented samples tended to sediment (90.7 and 90.9% of DM, respectively). There were only small effects of forage species and fermentation time on sedimentation tendency. Correlations between sedimentation measurements and DMD and FSG were not significant, with the only exception of DM recovered in the lower section of sedimentation columns after 75 s, which was particularly correlated with DMD (P < .01) and FSG (P < .05). The results suggest that degradation rate of fibrous particles is related to changes in FSG and GA and, therefore, could influence ruminal transit. However, FSG was unable to predict accurately the sedimentation behavior of samples.  相似文献
