Conjuge bonding oligosalicylaldehyde‐graft‐oligoaniline (OSA‐graft‐OA) was synthesized from the polycondensation reaction of oligosalicylaldehyde (OSA) with oligoaniline (OA). There were various functional groups such as ? OH, ? NH and ? CH?N in the structure of the graft cooligomer. The physical properties of graft‐co‐oligomers such as melting temperature and solubility were studied: number‐average molecular weight, mass‐average molecular weight, and a polydispersity index of OA, OSA, and fractions of the graft cooligomers [(OSA‐graft‐OA)‐I] and [(OSA‐graft‐OA)‐II] were found to be 740, 780 g mol?1,1.05; 3700, 5990 g mol?1, 1.62; 990, 2770 g mol?1, 2.80 and 1300, 4100 g mol?1, 3.15, respectively. The FTIR and UV‐Vis spectra of the graft cooligomer were compared with those of beginning oligomers. The spectral analyses results showed that the OSA‐graft‐OA synthesized from the polycondensation reaction of aromatic amine with aldehyde that have long oligophenol macromolecule bonded each other with an azomethine bridge through oligophenylamine side chains. The thermal stability of the graft cooligomer and oligomers were measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TG) under an air atmosphere. According to TG analyses, the carboneous residues of the [(OSA‐graft‐OA)‐I) (soluble in ethanol) and (OSA‐graft‐OA)‐II) (soluble in toluene)] were 23 and 40%, respectively, at 1000°C. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the presence of the inexpensive and non‐toxic stoichiometric reductant polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS), the chiral copper(II)‐dipyridylphosphine catalyst displayed high efficiency in the stereoselective hydrosilylation of a wide scope of aryl alkyl and heteroaromatic ketones under an air atmosphere and mild conditions in good to excellent ees (up to 97%). With certain amounts of sodium tert‐butoxide and tert‐butyl alcohol as additives, the reaction on a 21‐g substrate scale can be conveniently completed within a few hours even at a substrate‐to‐ligand (S/L) ratio of 50,000.  相似文献

Styrene (Sty), methyl methacrylate (MMA), methacrylamide (MAm) and acrylomorpholine (AcM) were grafted onto powder cellulose by atom‐transfer radical polymerization. Cellulose chloroacetate (Cell‐ClAc), as a macro‐initiator, was first prepared by the reaction of chloroacetyl chloride with primary alcoholic OH groups on powder cellulose. CuBr and 1,2‐dipiperidinoethane were used as a transition‐metal compound and as a ligand, respectively. These reactions were monitored by FT‐IR and weight increase in Cell‐ClAc. In case of styrene, although some weight increase occurred, no evidence of grafting could be observed in the FT‐IR spectrum, while there were strong evidence of grafting with MMA, MAm and AcM. Cell‐graft‐MAm, Cell‐graft‐AcM and Cell‐graft‐MMA showed new carbonyl bands at 1665, 1640 and 1735 cm?1, respectively. Dye‐uptake and dye‐absorption properties of cellulose, for alizarin yellow (basic dye) and bromocresol green (acidic dye), and its moisture‐ and water‐uptake capacities improved with the grafting, but some decrease was observed in thermal stability. A general and efficient hydrosilylation of aldehydes and ketones into the corresponding alcohols using the well‐defined bis(diphenylphosphinoethane)iron dihydride complex as the pre‐catalyst is reported using polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS) as the reducing silylating agent and sodium tetraethoxyborate [NaB(OEt)4] as a co‐catalyst under visible light irradiation. The low catalyst loadings (0.1–1 mol%), the amount of economical hydride source, PMHS and the unconventional way of activation of the pre‐catalyst make this new approach attractive.  相似文献

A well‐defined graft copolymer, polystyrene‐graft‐poly(methyl methacrylate), was synthesized in two steps. In the first step, styrene and p‐vinyl benzene sulfonyl chloride were copolymerized via reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) in benzene at 60 °C with 2‐(ethoxycarbonyl)prop‐2‐yl dithiobenzoate as a chain transfer agent and 2,2′‐azobis(isobutyronitrile) as an initiator. In the second step, poly[styrene‐cop‐(vinyl benzene sulfonyl chloride)] was used as a macroinitiator for the atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in toluene at 80 °C with CuCl as a catalyst and 2,2′‐bipyridine as a ligand. With sulfonyl chloride groups as the initiating sites for the ATRP of MMA, high initiation efficiencies were obtained. Copyright © 2006 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

We report a facile strategy for fabricating fluorescent quantum dot (QD)‐loaded microbeads by means of microfluidic technology. First, a functional fluorine‐containing microemulsion was synthesized with poly[(2‐(N‐ethylperfluorobutanesulfonamido)ethyl acrylate)‐co‐(methyl methacrylate)‐co‐(butyl acrylate)] (poly(FBMA‐co‐MMA‐co‐BA)) as the core and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) as the shell via differential microemulsion polymerization. Then, CdTe QDs capped with N‐acetyl‐l ‐cysteine (NAC) were assembled into the poly(FBMA‐co‐MMA‐co‐BA‐co‐GMA) microemulsion particles through the reaction of the epoxy group on the shell of the microemulsion and the carboxyl group of the NAC ligand capped on the QDs. Finally, fluorescent microbeads were fabricated using the CdTe QD‐loaded fluorine‐containing microemulsion as the discontinuous phase and methylsilicone oil as the continuous phase by means of a simple microfluidic device. By changing flow rate of methylsilicone oil and hybrid microemulsion system, fluorescent microbeads with adjustable sizes ranging from 290 to 420 µm were achieved. The morphology and fluorescent properties of the microbeads were thoroughly investigated using optical microscopy and fluorescence microscopy. Results showed that the fluorescent microbeads exhibited uniform size distribution and excellent fluorescence performance. © 2014 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Bis(1H, 1H, 2H, 2H‐perfluoro‐octyl)methylenesuccinate (FOM)/ethyl acrylate (EA)/methyl methacrylate (MMA) copolymer (FOME) latexes, FOM/butyl acrylate (BA)/MMA copolymer (FOMB) latexes, and FOM/octyl acrylate (OA)/MMA copolymer (FOMO) latexes were synthesized by continuous emulsion polymerization. Solution polymerization was also carried out to prepare FOMB. The influences of fluorine content and curing conditions on the surface properties of polymer films were discussed. The water and oil repellency of cotton fabrics treated with the FOM copolymers was better than that of conventional poly(fluoroalkyl acrylate)s containing the same fluorinated chain. The polymer films or the treated fabrics were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscope, atomic force microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, x‐ray photoelectron spectrometry, and wide angle x‐ray diffraction. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Different poly(methyl methacrylate/n‐butyl acrylate)/poly(n‐butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate) [P(BA/MMA)/P(MMA/BA)] and poly(n‐butyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate)/polystyrene [P(BA/MMA)/PSt] core‐shell structured latexes were prepared by emulsifier‐free emulsion polymerization in the presence of hydrophilic monomer 3‐allyloxy‐2‐hydroxyl‐propanesulfonic salt (AHPS). The particle morphologies of the final latexes and dynamic mechanical properties of the copolymers from final latexes were investigated in detail. With the addition of AHPS, a latex of stable and high‐solid content (60 wt %) was prepared. The diameters of the latex particles are ~0.26 μm for the P(BA/MMA)/P(MMA/BA) system and 0.22–0.24 μm for the P(BA/MMA)/PSt system. All copolymers from the final latexes are two‐phase structure polymers, shown as two glass transition temperatures (Tgs) on dynamic mechanical analysis spectra. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The novel polymethylsiloxane grafted by fluorocarbon side chains was synthesized via hydrosilylation reaction of polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS) with 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutyl acrylate (HFBA) in the presence of Karstedt’s catalyst. The reaction factors of reaction temperature, reaction time, catalyst dosage, solvent dosage, and molar ratio of the reactants were investigated through orthogonal experiments. Under optimal conditions, the grafting ratio of HFBA to PMHS reached 91.6%. The structure of the grafted polymer was characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR spectra. The synthesized polymer was incorporated into two-component polyurethane coating formulations as an additive to prepare antigraffiti coatings. After curing, the contact angle measurement was performed and the results showed that surface free energy of the coating film decreased dramatically from 30.7 to 21.4 mJ/m2. The inks of permanent markers cannot spread readily on the coating film and can be removed easily, indicating that the incorporation of the synthesized polymer endowed the coating with admirable antigraffiti performance. XPS analysis revealed that atomic concentrations of silicon and fluorine near the surface (about 10 nm) were much higher than deeper within the film (about 100 nm), suggesting that these two elements had a strong migration tendency toward the coating–air interface. AFM measurement showed that the inclusion of synthesized polymer in coating did not affect the surface roughness of the film.  相似文献

A crosslinkable terpolymer P(MMA‐BA‐HEMA) was prepared by atom transfer radical copolymerization of 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate, methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate. The structure of the terpolymer was characterized by 1H NMR and gel permeation chromatography. The effects on the polymerization of ligand, initiator, solvent, CuCl2 added in the initial stage and reaction temperature were investigated. The optimal reaction conditions were ethyl 2‐bromopropionate as initiator, CuCl/PMDETA as catalyst, cyclohexanone as solvent, catalyst/ligand = 1:1.5, [M]0:[I]0 = 200:1 and temperature 70 °C. The reaction followed first‐order kinetics with respect to monomer concentration, indicating the best control over the polymerization process, a constant concentration of the propagating radical during the polymerization, efficient control over Mn of the polymer and low polydispersity (Mw/Mn < 1.3). © 2013 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

In the past work, the shear resistance of pure poly(n‐butyl acrylate) was low, even incorporation of inorganic filler, silica in the composition. It is well‐known that the copolymerization of n‐butyl acrylate (BA) with methyl methacrylate (MMA) will increase the glass transition temperature, and enhance the shear resistance of acrylic polymers. In the current work, the preparation of a series of acrylic water‐borne pressure‐sensitive adhesives (PSAs) with the controlled composition and structure for the copolymerization of BA and acrylic acid (AA) with different MMA contents, poly(BA‐co‐MMA‐co‐AA) was reported and its effects on adhesive properties of the latices were investigated. The latices of poly(BA‐co‐MMA‐co‐AA) were prepared at a solid content of 50% by two‐stage sequential emulsion polymerization, and this process consisted of a batch seed stage giving a particle diameter of 111 nm, which was then grown by the semicontinuous addition of monomers to final diameter of 303 nm. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used to monitor the particle diameters and proved that no new nucleation occurred during the growth stage. Copolymerization of BA with MMA raised the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the soft acrylic polymers, and had the effect of improving shear resistance, while the loop tack and peel adhesion kept relatively high. The relationship between pressure‐sensitive properties and molecular parameters, such as gel content and molecular weight, was evaluated. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The cobalt carbonyl [Co2(CO)8] complex is employed as a useful catalyst for the reduction of tertiary amides to the corresponding tertiary amines using 1,1,3,3‐tetramethyldisiloxane (TMDS) and poly(methylhydrosiloxane) (PMHS) as silane reagents under thermal (100 °C) or photo‐assisted conditions (UV, 350 nm at room temperature). Of particular interest, a low catalytic amount (0.5 mol%) of [Co2(CO)8] is used to perform the reaction with 2.2 equiv. of PMHS at 100 °C for 3 h. This reaction is the first example of a cobalt‐catalyzed hydrosilylation of amides.

Commercial brominated poly(isobutylene‐co‐isoprene) (BIIR) rubber has been directly used for the initiation of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) by utilizing the allylic bromine atoms on the macromolecular chains of BIIR. The graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) from the backbone of BIIR which was used as a macroinitiator was carried out in xylene at 85 °C with CuBr/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as a catalytic complex. The polymerization conditions were optimized by adjusting the catalyst and monomer concentration to reach a higher monomer conversion and meanwhile suppress macroscopic gelation during the polymerization process. This copolymerization followed a first‐order kinetic behavior with respect to the monomer concentration, and the number‐average molecular weight of the grafted poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) increased with reaction time. The resultant BIIR‐graft‐PMMA copolymers showed phase separation morphology as characterized by atomic force microscopy, and the presence of PMMA phase increased the polarity of the BIIR copolymers. This study demonstrated the feasibility of using commercial BIIR polymer directly as a macromolecular initiator for ATRP reactions, which opens more possibilities for BIIR modifications for wider applications. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New hybrid poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate‐co‐methyl methacrylate)‐g‐polyhedral oligosilsesquioxane [poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA)‐g‐POSS] nanocomposites were synthesized by the combination of reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization and click chemistry using a grafting to protocol. Initially, the random copolymer poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA) was prepared by RAFT polymerization of HEMA and MMA. Alkynyl side groups were introduced onto the polymeric backbones by esterification reaction between 4‐pentynoic acid and the hydroxyl groups on poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA). Azide‐substituted POSS (POSS? N3) was prepared by the reaction of chloropropyl‐heptaisobutyl‐substituted POSS with NaN3. The click reaction of poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA)‐alkyne and POSS? N3 using CuBr/PMDEATA as a catalyst afforded poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA)‐g‐POSS. The structure of the organic/inorganic hybrid material was investigated by Fourier transformed infrared, 1H‐NMR, and 29Si‐NMR. The elemental mapping analysis of the hybrid using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and EDX also suggest the formation of poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA)‐anchored POSS nanocomposites. The XRD spectrum of the nanocomposites gives evidence that the incorporation of POSS moiety leads to a hybrid physical structure. The morphological feature of the hybrid nanocomposites as captured by field emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopic analyses indicate that a thick layer of polymer brushes was immobilized on the POSS cubic nanostructures. The gel permeation chromatography analysis of poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA) and poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA)‐g‐POSS further suggests the preparation of nanocomposites by the combination of RAFT and click chemistry. The thermogravimetric analysis revealed that the thermal property of the poly(HEMA‐co‐MMA) copolymer was significantly improved by the inclusion of POSS in the copolymer matrix. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel emulsion polymerization technique referred to as emulsifier‐minor emulsion polymerization was achieved by the copolymerization of methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, and styrene (MMA‐BA‐St) with a combination of water‐soluble ionic monomers [methacrylic acid (MAA) or acrylic acid (AA)] and nonionic monomers (N‐methylol acrylamide). In the technique, water‐soluble monomers play a crucial role in the stabilization of the latex particles as they can be bound to the particle surface and form a hydrate protective layer, which exhibits steric and/or electrostatic effects to prevent particle coagulation. The minor but over its critical micelle concentration emulsifier sodium alkylated diphenyl ether disulfonate (DSB) results in the nucleation of particles mainly by the micelle nucleation mechanism and thus determines the polymerization rate, the particle size, and the number. The film water resistance of the latices can be improved, and the foaming capacity of can be lowered by using technique instead of conventional emulsion polymerization. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Isotactic polypropylene graft copolymers, isotactic[polypropylene‐graft‐poly(methyl methacrylate)] (i‐PP‐g‐PMMA) and isotactic[polypropylene‐graft‐polystyrene] (i‐PP‐g‐PS), were prepared by atom‐transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using a 2‐bromopropionic ester macro‐initiator from functional polypropylene‐containing hydroxyl groups. This kind of functionalized propylene can be obtained by copolymerization of propylene and borane monomer using isospecific MgCl2‐supported TiCl4 as catalyst. Both the graft density and the molecular weights of i‐PP‐based graft copolymers were controlled by changing the hydroxyl group contents of functionalized polypropylene and the amount of monomer used in the grafting reaction. The effect of i‐PP‐g‐PS graft copolymer on PP‐PS blends and that of i‐PP‐g‐PMMA graft copolymer on PP‐PMMA blends were studied by scanning electron microscopy. A novel D2‐symmetrical chiral tetraoxazoline ligand was synthesized from 1,2,4,5‐benzenetetracarboxylic acid and L ‐valinol via a one‐pot reaction, and the asymmetric hydrosilylation of aromatic ketones was carried out in dichloromethane in the presence of 1.0 mol% of a bivalent copper ion catalyst with the tetraoxazoline to give optically active secondary alcohols. The chiral catalyst showed excellent activities and enantioselectivities in the hydrosilylation of aryl ketones with up to 99% ee.  相似文献

Waterborne polyacrylate/poly(silicone‐co‐acrylate) emulsions were synthesized to develop coated fertilizers. The effects of the n‐butyl acrylate (BA)/methyl methacrylate (MMA) ratio, vinyltriethoxysilane, and synthesis method on the water resistance, glass‐transition temperature, mechanical properties, and nutrient‐release profiles were investigated. The results show that miniemulsion polymerization with a BA/MMA ratio of 55:45 was the most suitable for slow nutrient‐release applications. Under these conditions, the preliminary solubility rate of the nutrient was about 3%, and the 30‐day cumulative nutrient release was 15% at 25°C. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Two monodisperse graft copolymers, poly(4‐methylstyrene)‐graft‐poly(tert‐butyl acrylate) [number‐average molecular weight (Mn) = 37,500, weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) = 1.12] and polystyrene‐graft‐poly(tert‐butyl acrylate) (Mn = 72,800, Mw/Mn = 1.12), were prepared by the atom transfer radical polymerization of tert‐butyl acrylate catalyzed with Cu(I) halides. As macroinitiators, poly{(4‐methylstyrene)‐co‐[(4‐bromomethyl)styrene]} and poly{styrene‐co‐[4‐(1‐(2‐bromopropionyloxy)ethyl)styrene]}, carrying 40% of the bromoalkyl functionalities along the chain, were used. The dependencies of molecular parameters on monomer conversion fulfilled the criteria for controlled polymerizations. In contrast, the dependencies of monomer conversion versus time were nonideal; possible causes were examined. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 86: 2930–2936, 2002  相似文献

The free‐radical polymerization of alkenyl‐terminated polyurethane dispersions with styrene and n‐butyl acrylate was performed to obtain a series of stable polyurethane–poly(n‐butyl acrylate‐co‐styrene) (PUA) hybrid emulsions. The core–shell structure of the emulsions was observed by transmission electron microscopy, and the microstructure was studied by 1H‐NMR and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The effects of the poly(propylene glycol)s (number‐average molecular weights = 1000, 1500, and 2000 Da) and the mass ratios of polyurethane to poly(n‐butyl acrylate‐co‐styrene) (PBS; 50/50, 40/60, 30/70, 20/80, and 10/90) on the structure, morphology, and properties of the PUAs were investigated. The average particle size and water absorption values of the PUAs increased with increasing of PBS content. However, the surface tension decreased from 34.61 to 30.29 mN/m. PUA‐2, with a bimodal distribution, showed Newtonian liquid behaviors, and PUA‐3 showed a great thermal stability, fast drying characteristics, and excellent adhesion to packaging films. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
