A novel column solid phase extraction procedure was developed for the determination of lead, nickel, copper and manganese in various water samples by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) after preconcentration on sodium bispiperdine-1,1'-carbotetrathioate (Na-BPCTT) supported by Amberlite XAD-7. The sorbed element was subsequently eluted with 1M nitric acid and the acid eluates are analysed by Flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Various parameters such as pH, amount of adsorbent, eluent type and volume, flow-rate of the sample solution, volume of the sample solution and matrix interference effect on the retention of the metal ions have been studied. The optimum pH for the sorption of above mentioned metal ions was about 6.0+/-0.2. The loading capacity of adsorbent for Pb, Cu, Ni and Mn were found to 28, 26, 22 and 20x10(-6) g/mL, respectively. The recoveries of lead, copper, nickel and manganese under optimum conditions were found to be 96.7-99.2 at the 95% confident level. The limit of detection was 3.0, 3.2, 2.8 and 3.6x10(-6) g/mL for lead, copper, nickel and manganese, respectively by applying a preconcentration factor 50. The proposed enrichment method was applied for metal ions in various water samples. The results were obtained are good agreement with reported method.  相似文献

A solid phase extraction method has been developed for the determination of copper, nickel and zinc ions in natural water samples. This method is based on the adsorption of copper, nickel and zinc on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) impregnated with di-(2-ethyl hexyl phosphoric acid) (D2EHPA) and tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO). The influence of parameters such as pH of the aqueous solution, amount of adsorbent, flow rates of the sample and eluent, matrix effects and D2EHPA-TOPO concentration have been investigated. Desorption studies have been carried out with 2 mol L(-1) HNO(3). The copper, nickel and zinc concentrations were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The results indicated that the maximum adsorption of copper, nickel and zinc is at pH 5.0 with 500 mg of MWCNTs. The detection limits by three sigma were 50 μg L(-1) for copper, 40 μg L(-1) for nickel and 60 μg L(-1) zinc. The highest enrichment factors were found to be 25. The adsorption capacity of MWCNTs-D2EHPA-TOPO was found to be 4.90 mg g(-1) for copper, 4.78 mg g(-1) for nickel and 4.82 mg g(-1) for zinc. The developed method was applied for the determination of copper, nickel and zinc in electroplating wastewater and real water sample with satisfactory results (R.S.D.'s <10%).  相似文献

Lead and nickel were preconcentrated as their ethylenediaminetetraacedic acid (EDTA) complexes from aqueous sample solutions using a column containing Ambersorb-572 and determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). pH values, amount of solid phase, elution solution and flow rate of sample solution have been optimized in order to obtain quantitative recovery of the analytes. The effect of interfering ions on the recovery of the analytes has also been investigated. The recoveries of Pb and Ni under the optimum conditions were 99 +/- 2 and 97 +/- 3%, respectively, at 95% confidence level. Seventy-five-fold (using 750 mL of sample solution and 10 mL of eluent) and 50-fold (using 500 mL of sample solution and 10 mL of eluent) preconcentration was obtained for Pb and Ni, respectively. Time of analysis is about 4.5 h (for obtaining enrichment factor of 75). By applying these enrichment factors, the analytical detection limits of Pb and Ni were found as 3.65 and 1.42 ng mL(-1), respectively. The capacity of the sorbent was found as 0.17 and 0.21 mmol g(-1) for Pb and Ni, respectively. The interferences of some cations, such as Mn2+, Co2+, Fe3+, Al3+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+ usually present in water samples were also studied. This procedure was applied to the determination of lead and nickel in parsley, green onion, sea water and waste water samples. The accuracy of the procedure was checked by determining Pb and Ni in standard reference tea leaves sample (GBW-07605). The results demonstrated good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

An on-line solid phase extraction method for the preconcentration and determination of Cu(II) by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) has been described. It is based on the adsorption of copper(II) ion onto a home made mini column of Chromosorb 105 resin loaded with pyrocatechol violet at the pH range of 5.0-8.0, then eluted with 1 mol L(-1) HNO(3). Several parameters, such as pH of the sample solution, amount of Chromosorb 105 resin, volume of sample and eluent, type of eluent, flow rates of sample and eluent, governing the efficiency and throughput of the method were evaluated. The concentration of the copper ion detected after preconcentration was in agreement with the added amount. At optimized conditions, for 15 min of preconcentration time (30 mL of sample volume), the system achieved a detection limit of 0.02 microg L(-1), with relative standard deviation 1.1% at 0.03 microg mL(-1) copper. The present method was found to be applicable to the preconcentration of Cu(II) in natural water samples.  相似文献

Multielement simultaneous determination of 35 trace elements in environmental samples was carried out by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) after preconcentration with octadecyl silicagel, modified with aurin tricarboxylic acid (Aluminon). Optimal experimental conditions including pH of sample solution, sample volume, sample and eluent flow rate, type, concentration and volume of eluent and foreign ions effect were investigated and established.Trace element ions in aqueous solution were quantitatively adsorbed onto octadecyl silicagel modified with aurin tricarboxylic acid at pH 8.0 with a flow rate of 11.0 mL min−1. The adsorbed element ions were eluted with 3–5 mL of 0.5 mol L−1 HNO3 at a flow rate of 10.0 mL min−1 and analyzed by ICP-OES simultaneously. The proposed method has at least preconcentration factor of 100 in water samples, which results high sensitive detection of ultra-trace and trace analysis. The present methodology gave recoveries better than 70% and RSD less than 16%.  相似文献

A new method using a mini-column packed with sulfur as a new solid phase extractor has been developed for simultaneous preconcentration of lead and cadmium in water samples prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometric determinations. The effects of various parameters such as pH, flow rate of sample and eluent, type and concentration of eluent, sample volume, amount of adsorbent and interfering ions have been studied. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 10-300 and 1-20 ng mL(-1) for lead and cadmium, respectively. The limit of detection based on three times the standard deviation of the blank (3S(b)) was 3.2 and 0.2 ng mL(-1) (n=10) for lead and cadmium, respectively. A preconcentration factor of 250 was achieved in this method. The proposed procedure was applied to the determination of metal ions in tap, river and wastewater samples.  相似文献

Bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde)-1,2-propanediimine is synthesized by the reaction of 5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 1,2-diaminopropane in ethanol. This ligand is used as a modifier of octadecyl silica disks for preconcentration of trace amounts of copper(II) ions, followed by nitric acid elution and flame atomic absorption spectrometric (FAAS) determination. The effect of parameters influencing the extraction efficiency, i.e. pH of the sample solutions, amount of the Schiff base, type and volume of stripping reagent, sample and eluent flow rates were evaluated. Under optimum experimental conditions, the capacity of the membrane disks modified by 4mg of the ligand was found to be 247.7 (+/-2.1)mug of copper. The detection limit and the concentration factor of the presented method are 2.4ng/l and greater than 400, respectively. The method was applied to the extraction, recovery and detection of copper in different synthetic and water samples.  相似文献

A simple and accurate method was developed for separation and enrichment of trace levels of gold in environmental samples. The method is based on the adsorption of Au(III)-diethyldithiocarbamate complex on Amberlite XAD-2000 resin prior to the analysis of gold by flame atomic absorption spectrometry after elution with 1 molL(-1) HNO3 in acetone. Some parameters including nitric acid concentration, eluent type, matrix ions, sample volume, sample flow rate and adsorption capacity were investigated on the recovery of gold(III). The recovery values for gold(III) and detection limit of gold were greater than 95% and 16.6 microgL(-1), respectively. The preconcentration factor was 200. The relative standard deviation of the method was <6%. The adsorption capacity of the resin was 12.3 mg g(-1). The validation of the presented procedure was checked by the analysis of CRM-SA-C Sandy Soil certified reference material. The presented procedure was applied to the determination of gold in some environmental samples.  相似文献

A biosorption procedure for separation-enrichment of aluminum in environmental samples has been presented in this work. Pseudomonas aeruginosa loaded on Chromosorb 106 has been used as biosorbent for that purpose. P. aeruginosa is a gram-negative, aerobic rod. The influences of pH of the aqueous solution, eluent type, eluent volume, sample volume, etc. were examined on the quantitative recovery of aluminum in P. aeruginosa loaded on Chromosorb 106. The effects of concomitant ions on the recoveries of aluminum were also investigated. The detection limit based on 3 sigma for aluminum is 30 ng L(-1). Three certified reference materials (LGC 6010 Hard Drinking Water, NIST-SRM 1568a Rice Flour and NRCC-DORM-2 Dogfish Muscle) were analyzed for the validation of the presented procedure. The proposed procedure was applied to the determination of aluminum in environmental samples including natural water and food samples. The concentration of aluminum in real samples was found at ppb level.  相似文献

A simple, reliable and rapid method for preconcentration and determination of lead using octadecyl bonded silica membrane disk impregnated with Cyanex302 and flame atomic absorption spectrometry is presented. The influence of aqueous phase pH, type of eluent, flow rates of sample solution and eluent, volume of eluent and amount of extractant has been investigated. The break through volume is greater than 4.0 dm(3) with an enrichment factor of more than 400 and a detection limit of 1.0microg dm(-3). The method developed for determination of lead is good as six replicate determinations using 100cm(3) solution containing lead in the range 1-4900microg provides a relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) of 0.4%. The selectivity of the proposed method was confirmed from the interference studies. The developed procedure was successfully applied for the determination of lead in spiked sea water, USGS standard soil sample, sludge and industrial effluents, medicinal formulation, plant, some food products and wine.  相似文献

A simple and selective method for the determination of cadmium in water samples by FAAS after solid phase extraction has been developed. The method is based on the sorption of cadmium as CdI(4)(2-) on octadecyl silica membrane disks modified by cationic surfactant of methyltrioctylammonium chloride in the pH range of 1-8. The sorbed cadmium is then eluted with 10ml of 1moll(-1) nitric acid in ethanol and is measured by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The influence of flow rates of eluent and sample solution, iodide concentration and amount of surfactant in retention and elution of cadmium from disks was also investigated. A preconcentration factor of 100 was achieved by passing 1000ml of sample through the membrane disk. The limit of detection (LOD) of cadmium was found to be 0.014ngml(-1). Precision at 2.5mugl(-1) was 1.2% (n=8). The method was successfully applied to the determination of cadmium in some natural water samples. The accuracy was assessed through recovery experiment, independent analysis by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, and analysis of certified reference waters.  相似文献

A speciation procedure for Cr(III) and Cr(VI) based on column solid phase extraction on Amberlite XAD-2010 and flame atomic absorption spectrometry combination. Cr(VI) was quantitatively recovered on Amberlite XAD-2010 resin at pH range of 2.0-3.0 as its diethyldithiocarbamate complex, while the recoveries of Cr(III) was below 5%. The influences of the various parameters including amounts of the reagents, eluent type and its volume, sample volume, etc., on the quantitative recoveries were examined. The interference of matrix and coexistent elements for method were studied. The detection limit (corresponding to three times the standard deviation of the blank) and the enrichment factor for Cr(VI) were found to be 1.28 microg/L and 25, respectively. To verify the accuracy of the method, drinking water certified reference material (CRM-TMDW-500) was analyzed and the results obtained were in good agreement with the certified value. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the speciation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in water samples and preconcentration of total chromium in environmental samples.  相似文献

The octadecyl silica cartridge as a sorbent and 4-bp db (1,4-bis(4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene) as a ligand is a simple, rapid and reliable method for extracting and preconcentrating of Hg(II) in real samples prior to cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry. Sample solutions were passed through a column at pH 4.5 then retained mercury ions on the column were eluted with minimal amount of 0.01 M nitric acid with 3 mL min(-1) flow rate. The effect of pH, type of buffer, flow rate of sample and eluent, type and volume of the eluent were investigated and optimized. At optimum effective parameters, concentration factor and detection limit were achieved 128 and 1.87 ng L(-1), respectively.  相似文献

The present paper proposes an on-line preconcentration procedure for cadmium determination in drinking water samples. It is based on the precipitation of cadmium(II) ions on a knotted reactor (KR) using 1(2-thiazolylazo)-p-cresol (TAC) as complexing reagent. The optimization step was performed using a full factorial design involving the variables: pH, eluent concentration (nitric acid) and TAC concentration. The results of this experiment demonstrated that these variables at chosen levels are not statistically significant. Under optimized experimental established conditions, analytical parameters for the preconcentration method were: a detection limit of 40.0 ng/l, precision as relative standard deviation (RSD) of 1.2 and 1.0%, for cadmium concentration of 2.5 and 20.0 microg/l, respectively. The preconcentration factor considering the slopes of the analytical curves with and without preconcentration is 23 for a sample volume of 10 ml. This system shows a sampling frequency of 25 h(-1). In order to check the accuracy, the standard reference material, NIST SRM 1643d trace elements in water was analyzed. A comparison, using t-test demonstrates that there is not significant difference among the achieved results with proposed method and the certified values. The addition/recovery experiments in the samples analyzed demonstrated the accuracy and applicability of the system developed for cadmium determination in water samples.  相似文献

A method was proposed for the preconcentration of some transition elements at trace levels using a column packed with silica gel modified by a synthetic ligand. Metal ions were adsorbed on 2,4,6-trimorpholino-1,3,5-triazin modified silica gel, then analytes retained on the adsorbent were eluted by 1 mol L−1 hydrochloric acid and determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The influences of some experimental parameters including pH of the sample solution, weight of adsorbent, type, concentration and volume of eluent, flow rates of the sample solution and eluent, and sample volume on the preconcentration efficiency have been investigated. The influences of some matrix elements were also examined. The method also was used for simultaneous preconcentration of these elements and the method was successfully applied to the preconcentration and determination of them. The detection limits of the method for Ni2+, Co2+, Cd2+ and Zn2+were 0.29, 0.20, 0.23 and, 0.30 ng mL−1, respectively. The application of this modified silica gel to preconcentration of investigated cation from tap water, lake water, urine and apple leaves gave high accuracy and precision (relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) <3%).  相似文献

A simple and selective method was used for the preconcentration and determination of uranium(VI) by solid-phase extraction (SPE). In this method, a column of alumina modified with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and a new Schiff's base ligand was prepared for the preconcentration of trace uranyl(VI) from water samples. The uranium(VI) was completely eluted with HCl 2M and determined by a spectrophotometeric method with Arsenazo(III). The preconcentration steps were studied with regard to experimental parameters such as amount of extractant, type, volume and concentration of eluent, pH, flow rate of sample source and tolerance limit of diverse ions on the recovery of uranyl ion. A preconcentration factor more than 200 was achieved and the average recovery of uranyl(VI) was 99.5%. The relative standard deviation was 1.1% for 10 replicate determinations of uranyl(VI) ion in a solution with a concentration of 5 μg mL(-1). This method was successfully used for the determination of spiked uranium in natural water samples.  相似文献
