纳米科技发展和应用的一个重要问题是:解决纳米尺度上的操作,加工和控制,本文针对目前传统机械加工方法在纳米量级加工能力上存在的不足,以及利用SPM探针针尖进行纳米加工在工程应用中所面临的技术问题,提出应用SPM原理和技术,直接使用金刚石丸具进行材料的纳米量级去除加工方法。文中应用该方法对石墨以及金属材料进行了微去除加工实验,研究和考察了纳米切削加工时,切削形成和良好加工表面的形成,结果显示,这是一种好的纳米加工方法,既可作为材料加工过程的研究手段,又具有良好的实际应用前景。  相似文献

This paper explores the application of telepresence principles to the design and development of selected education applications. The applications are described, and the main implications for telepresence principles are explored. The work reported suggests that the overriding concentration on quality or fidelity as the most important determinant of presence may be misplaced. Indeed there may be situations where high fidelity systems may actually reduce learning effectiveness. To fully understand and model such complex situations requires conceptual frameworks to help bridge theory and practice, a varied range of technologies from which to choose, and a set of design principles or heuristics to help build the most effective systems.  相似文献

The issues of applying the code-division multiple access (CDMA) technique to an on-chip packet switched communication network are discussed in this paper. A packet switched network-on-chip (NoC) that applies the CDMA technique is realized in register-transfer level (RTL) using VHDL. The realized CDMA NoC supports the globally-asynchronous locally-synchronous (GALS) communication scheme by applying both synchronous and asynchronous designs. In a packet switched NoC, which applies a point-to-point connection scheme, e.g., a ring topology NoC, data transfer latency varies largely if the packets are transferred to different destinations or to the same destination through different routes in the network. The CDMA NoC can eliminate the data transfer latency variations by sharing the data communication media among multiple users concurrently. A six-node GALS CDMA on-chip network is modeled and simulated. The characteristics of the CDMA NoC are examined by comparing them with the characteristics of an on-chip bidirectional ring topology network. The simulation results reveal that the data transfer latency in the CDMA NoC is a constant value for a certain length of packet and is equivalent to the best case data transfer latency in the bidirectional ring network when data path width is set to 32 bits.  相似文献

The cell size in mobile networks is decreasing to accommodate more users in the same bandwidth. Smaller cell sizes increase the number of handoffs between cells and the probability of encountering a cell with more users than the bandwidth can accommodate. Stateless packet techniques, such as those used in Internet routers, can reduce the work that is performed in a handoff and reduce the probability of losing a connection in an overpopulated cell. In order to obtain these advantages, the mobile network must consist of both a wired and a wireless segment and different packet techniques must be used for the inbound and outbound traffic on each of these segments. A fifth packet technique is used for a control channel that is independent of a mobile unit's location. The resultant packet network has unique characteristics and requirements. We will show how these characteristics affect the structure of the wired network and the access protocols that are used in the wireless network.  相似文献

Bandwidth Allocation Models (BAMs) are resource allocation methods used for networks in general. BAMs are currently applied for handling resources such as bandwidth allocation in MPLS DS‐TE networks (LSP setup). In general, BAMs define resource restrictions by ‘class’ and allocate the available resources on demand. This is frequently necessary to manage large and complex systems like routing networks. G‐BAM is a new generalized BAM that, by configuration, incorporates the ‘behavior’ of existing BAMs (MAM, RDM, G‐RDM and AllocTC‐Sharing). In effect, any current available BAM ‘behavior’ is reproduced by G‐BAM by simply adjusting its configuration parameters. This paper focuses on investigating the applicability of using autonomy together with BAMs for improve performance and facilitating the management of MPLS DS‐TE networks. It is investigated the applicability of ‘BAM switching’ using a framework with autonomic characteristics. In brief, it is investigated the switching among ‘BAM behaviors’ and BAM's reconfiguration with distinct network traffic scenarios by using G‐BAM. Simulation results suggest that the autonomic switching of ‘BAM behaviors’ based on high‐level management rules (Service Level Agreements, Quality of Service (QoS) or other police) may result in improving overall network management and operational parameters such as link utilization and preemption. A new Fourier transform algorithm for almost-periodic functions (the APFT) is developed. It is both efficient and accurate. Unlike previous attempts to solve this problem, the new algorithm does not constrain the input frequencies and uses the theoretical minimum number of time points. Also presented is a particularly simple derivation of harmonic Newton (the algorithm that results when Newton's method is applied to solve the harmonic balance equations) using the APFT; this derivation uses the same matrix representation used in the derivation of the APFT. Since the APFT includes the DFT (discrete Fourier transform) as a special case, all results are applicable to both the periodic and almost-periodic forms of harmonic Newton  相似文献

In response to the explosive increase in the number of mobile subscribers and the ever stronger demand for mobile multimedia services, the authors propose introducing the ATM technique for next-generation mobile network infrastructures in order to handle a high volume of traffic and develop multimedia communications. First, this article clarifies mobile-specific requirements for and advantages of applying ATM to mobile infrastructure networks. However, it is risky for network operators en bloc to replace the conventional STM-based infrastructure by ATM. Therefore, this article shows a smooth evolution path for the mobile network infrastructure to convert from conventional STM to ATM as mobile multimedia services mature. Even in future mobile networks, the main traffic may still be voice communications, whose bit rate is too low for efficient use of the radio frequency band. Applying ATM to such very-low-bit-rate mobile voice streams is inefficient due to the delay in filling out the payload of an ATM cell; this “packetization delay” degrades the quality of service. This problem can be solved by using a layered cell structure for the mobile ATM network. This cell structure enables the efficient transfer of voice signals ranging from very-low-bit-rate signals to high-speed multimedia signals with little delay.
