The k nearest neighbor (k-NN) classifier has been a widely used nonparametric technique in Pattern Recognition, because of its simplicity and good performance. In order to decide the class of a new prototype, the k-NN classifier performs an exhaustive comparison between the prototype to classify and the prototypes in the training set T. However, when T is large, the exhaustive comparison is expensive. For this reason, many fast k-NN classifiers have been developed, some of them are based on a tree structure, which is created during a preprocessing phase using the prototypes in T. Then, in a search phase, the tree is traversed to find the nearest neighbor. The speed up is obtained, while the exploration of some parts of the tree is avoided using pruning rules which are usually based on the triangle inequality. However, in soft sciences as Medicine, Geology, Sociology, etc., the prototypes are usually described by numerical and categorical attributes (mixed data), and sometimes the comparison function for computing the similarity between prototypes does not satisfy metric properties. Therefore, in this work an approximate fast k most similar neighbor classifier, for mixed data and similarity functions that do not satisfy metric properties, based on a tree structure (Tree k-MSN) is proposed. 为克服ML-KNN在分类效率方面的局限性,提出了一种基于KNN的快速多标签数据分类算法FKMC,利用待分类实例的k个最近邻的局部信息进行排序分类。从已分类数据实例集中选择待分类数据实例的k个最近邻;根据每个最近邻拥有的标签数和每个标签归属的最近邻数对待分类实例进行排序分类。仿真结果表明,最近邻的选择方法对分类器性能有显著的影响;在分类效果上FKMC与ML-KNN相当,有时甚至优于后者;而在分类效率上FKMC则显著优于ML-KNN。  相似文献

We propose an efficient approach, FSKNN, which employs fuzzy similarity measure (FSM) and k nearest neighbors (KNN), for multi-label text classification. One of the problems associated with KNN-like approaches is its demanding computational cost in finding the k nearest neighbors from all the training patterns. For FSKNN, FSM is used to group the training patterns into clusters. Then only the training documents in those clusters whose fuzzy similarities to the document exceed a predesignated threshold are considered in finding the k nearest neighbors for the document. An unseen document is labeled based on its k nearest neighbors using the maximum a posteriori estimate. Experimental results show that our proposed method can work more effectively than other methods.  相似文献

We study the application of the geographic nearest neighbor approach to two problems. The first problem is the construction of an approximately minimum length rectilinear Steiner tree for a set ofn points in the plane. For this problem, we introduce a variation of a subgraph of sizeO(n) used by YaO [31] for constructing minimum spanning trees. Using this subgraph, we improve the running times of the heuristics discussed by Bern [6] fromO(n 2 log n) toO(n log2 n). The second problem is the construction of a rectilinear minimum spanning tree for a set ofn noncrossing line segments in the plane. We present an optimalO(n logn) algorithm for this problem. The rectilinear minimum spanning tree for a set of points can thus be computed optimally without using the Voronoi diagram. This algorithm can also be extended to obtain a rectilinear minimum spanning tree for a set of nonintersecting simple polygons.The results in this paper are a part of Y. C. Continuous reverse k nearest neighbor (CRkNN) monitoring in road networks has recently received increasing attentions. However, there is still a lack of efficient CRkNN algorithms in road networks up to now. In road networks, moving query objects and data objects are restricted by the connectivity of the road network and both the object–query distance and object–object distance updates affect the result of CRkNN queries. In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for continuous and incremental evaluation of CRkNN queries in road networks. Our method is based on a novel data structure called dual layer multiway tree (DLM tree) we proposed to represent the whole monitoring region of a CRkNN query q. We propose several lemmas to reduce the monitoring region of q and the number of candidate objects as much as possible. Moreover, by associating a variable NN_count with each candidate object, we can simplify the monitoring of candidate objects. There are a large number of objects roaming in a road network and many of them are irrelevant to a specific CRkNN query of a query object q. To minimize the processing extension, for a road in the network, we give an IQL list and an IQCL list to specify the set of query objects and data objects whose location updates should be maintained for CRkNN processing of query objects. Our CRkNN method consists of two phase: the initial result generating phase and incremental maintenance phase. In each phase, algorithms with high performance are proposed to make our CRkNN method more efficient. Extensive simulation experiments are conducted and the result shows that our proposed approach is efficient and scalable in processing CRkNN queries in road networks.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a fast global k-means clustering algorithm by making use of the cluster membership and geometrical information of a data point. This algorithm is referred to as MFGKM. The algorithm uses a set of inequalities developed in this paper to determine a starting point for the jth cluster center of global k-means clustering. Adopting multiple cluster center selection (MCS) for MFGKM, we also develop another clustering algorithm called MFGKM+MCS. MCS determines more than one starting point for each step of cluster split; while the available fast and modified global k-means clustering algorithms select one starting point for each cluster split. Our proposed method MFGKM can obtain the least distortion; while MFGKM+MCS may give the least computing time. Compared to the modified global k-means clustering algorithm, our method MFGKM can reduce the computing time and number of distance calculations by a factor of 3.78-5.55 and 21.13-31.41, respectively, with the average distortion reduction of 5,487 for the Statlog data set. Compared to the fast global k-means clustering algorithm, our method MFGKM+MCS can reduce the computing time by a factor of 5.78-8.70 with the average reduction of distortion of 30,564 using the same data set. The performances of our proposed methods are more remarkable when a data set with higher dimension is divided into more clusters.  相似文献

Intrusion detection is a necessary step to identify unusual access or attacks to secure internal networks. In general, intrusion detection can be approached by machine learning techniques. In literature, advanced techniques by hybrid learning or ensemble methods have been considered, and related work has shown that they are superior to the models using single machine learning techniques. This paper proposes a hybrid learning model based on the triangle area based nearest neighbors (TANN) in order to detect attacks more effectively. In TANN, the k-means clustering is firstly used to obtain cluster centers corresponding to the attack classes, respectively. Then, the triangle area by two cluster centers with one data from the given dataset is calculated and formed a new feature signature of the data. Finally, the k-NN classifier is used to classify similar attacks based on the new feature represented by triangle areas. By using KDD-Cup ’99 as the simulation dataset, the experimental results show that TANN can effectively detect intrusion attacks and provide higher accuracy and detection rates, and the lower false alarm rate than three baseline models based on support vector machines, k-NN, and the hybrid centroid-based classification model by combining k-means and k-NN.  相似文献

The k-means algorithm and its variations are known to be fast clustering algorithms. However, they are sensitive to the choice of starting points and are inefficient for solving clustering problems in large datasets. Recently, incremental approaches have been developed to resolve difficulties with the choice of starting points. The global k-means and the modified global k-means algorithms are based on such an approach. They iteratively add one cluster center at a time. Numerical experiments show that these algorithms considerably improve the k-means algorithm. However, they require storing the whole affinity matrix or computing this matrix at each iteration. This makes both algorithms time consuming and memory demanding for clustering even moderately large datasets. In this paper, a new version of the modified global k-means algorithm is proposed. We introduce an auxiliary cluster function to generate a set of starting points lying in different parts of the dataset. We exploit information gathered in previous iterations of the incremental algorithm to eliminate the need of computing or storing the whole affinity matrix and thereby to reduce computational effort and memory usage. Results of numerical experiments on six standard datasets demonstrate that the new algorithm is more efficient than the global and the modified global k-means algorithms.  相似文献

We develop a new non-parametric information theoretic clustering algorithm based on implicit estimation of cluster densities using the k-nearest neighbors (k-nn) approach. Compared to a kernel-based procedure, our hierarchical k-nn approach is very robust with respect to the parameter choices, with a key ability to detect clusters of vastly different scales. Of particular importance is the use of two different values of k, depending on the evaluation of within-cluster entropy or across-cluster cross-entropy, and the use of an ensemble clustering approach wherein different clustering solutions vote in order to obtain the final clustering. We conduct clustering experiments, and report promising results.  相似文献

针对大规模散乱点数据k最近邻域搜索速度慢和稳定性差的问题,提出一种新的k邻域快速搜索算法.首先,引入空间分块策略将数据集中的点归入不同的子空间;其次,动态控制搜索步长的改变量,根据点到其自身小立方体边界的最小距离保证搜索结果的准确性;最后,通过改变预筛选点数量的右侧控制阈值来消除已有算法中由于初始数值不当引起的死循环.实验结果表明该算法对初始搜索步长、搜索步长增量、采样密度和不同的拓扑结构具有较强的稳定性,并且能更快地完成k邻域搜索.  相似文献

High-dimensional problems arising from robot motion planning, biology, data mining, and geographic information systems often require the computation of k nearest neighbor (knn) graphs. The knn graph of a data set is obtained by connecting each point to its k closest points. As the research in the above-mentioned fields progressively addresses problems of unprecedented complexity, the demand for computing knn graphs based on arbitrary distance metrics and large high-dimensional data sets increases, exceeding resources available to a single machine. In this work we efficiently distribute the computation of knn graphs for clusters of processors with message passing. Extensions to our distributed framework include the computation of graphs based on other proximity queries, such as approximate knn or range queries. Our experiments show nearly linear speedup with over 100 processors and indicate that similar speedup can be obtained with several hundred processors.  相似文献

A novel approach for k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) searching with Euclidean metric is described. It is well known that many sophisticated algorithms cannot beat the brute-force algorithm when the dimensionality is high. In this study, a probably correct approach, in which the correct set of k-nearest neighbors is obtained in high probability, is proposed for greatly reducing the searching time. We exploit the marginal distribution of the k th nearest neighbors in low dimensions, which is estimated from the stored data (an empirical percentile approach). We analyze the basic nature of the marginal distribution and show the advantage of the implemented algorithm, which is a probabilistic variant of the partial distance searching. Its query time is sublinear in data size n, that is, O(mnδ) with δ=o(1) in n and δ≤1, for any fixed dimension m.  相似文献

In this paper, the conventional k-modes-type algorithms for clustering categorical data are extended by representing the clusters of categorical data with k-populations instead of the hard-type centroids used in the conventional algorithms. Use of a population-based centroid representation makes it possible to preserve the uncertainty inherent in data sets as long as possible before actual decisions are made. The k-populations algorithm was found to give markedly better clustering results through various experiments.  相似文献

In a wireless mobile environment, data broadcasting provides an efficient way to disseminate data. Via data broadcasting, a server can provide location-based services to a large client population in a wireless environment. Among different location-based services, the k nearest neighbors (kNN) search is important and is used to find the k closest objects to a given point. However, the kNN search in a broadcast environment is particularly challenging due to the sequential access to the data on a broadcast channel. We propose efficient protocols for the kNN search on a broadcast R-tree, which is a popular multi-dimensional index tree, in a wireless broadcast environment in terms of latency and tuning time as well as memory usage. We investigate how a server schedules the broadcast and provide the corresponding kNN search algorithms at the mobile clients. One of our kNN search protocols further allows a kNN search to start at an arbitrary time instance and it can skip the waiting time for the beginning of a broadcast cycle, thereby reducing the latency. The experimental results validate that our mechanisms achieve the objectives.  相似文献

Given a collection of n functions defined on , and a polyhedral set , we consider the problem of minimizing the sum of the k largest functions of the collection over Q. Specifically we focus on collections of linear functions and several classes of convex, piecewise linear functions which are defined by location models. We present simple linear programming formulations for these optimization models which give rise to linear time algorithms when the dimension d is fixed. Our results improve complexity bounds of several problems reported recently by Tamir [Discrete Appl. Math. 109 (2001) 293-307], Tokuyama [Proc. 33rd Annual ACM Symp. on Theory of Computing, 2001, pp. 75-84] and Kalcsics, Nickel, Puerto and Tamir [Oper. Res. Lett. 31 (1984) 114-127].  相似文献

In this paper, we present a modified filtering algorithm (MFA) by making use of center variations to speed up clustering process. Our method first divides clusters into static and active groups. We use the information of cluster displacements to reject unlikely cluster centers for all nodes in the kd-tree. We reduce the computational complexity of filtering algorithm (FA) through finding candidates for each node mainly from the set of active cluster centers. Two conditions for determining the set of candidate cluster centers for each node from active clusters are developed. Our approach is different from the major available algorithm, which passes no information from one stage of iteration to the next. Theoretical analysis shows that our method can reduce the computational complexity, in terms of the number of distance calculations, of FA at each stage of iteration by a factor of FC/AC, where FC and AC are the numbers of total clusters and active clusters, respectively. Compared with the FA, our algorithm can effectively reduce the computing time and number of distance calculations. It is noted that our proposed algorithm can generate the same clusters as that produced by hard k-means clustering. The superiority of our method is more remarkable when a larger data set with higher dimension is used.  相似文献

We present the global k-means algorithm which is an incremental approach to clustering that dynamically adds one cluster center at a time through a deterministic global search procedure consisting of N (with N being the size of the data set) executions of the k-means algorithm from suitable initial positions. We also propose modifications of the method to reduce the computational load without significantly affecting solution quality. The proposed clustering methods are tested on well-known data sets and they compare favorably to the k-means algorithm with random restarts.  相似文献

Zonal k-l based large eddy simulation (LES) approaches are presented. To reduce computational demands, near walls, Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) like modelling is used. The interface location for the differing models is either explicitly specified, or, based on length scale compatibility, allowed to naturally locate. With the latter approach the location is strongly grid controlled. When explicitly specified (based on turbulence physics grounds), to enhance results length scale smoothing is implemented. Using standard established LES and RANS model constants the zonal methods are shown to reproduce a satisfactory law of the wall. The approaches are implemented in both cell-vertex and cell-centred codes with similar results being found. Various other sensitivity studies are performed. These show that, as with standard LES, predictions are most sensitive to filter definition, first off wall grid node normal positions and temporal scheme order. For a non-isothermal periodic ribbed channel, the new zonal LES predictions are found to be significantly more accurate than those for an established RANS model and also LES.  相似文献

This work describes a novel routing algorithm for constructing a container of width n − 1 between a pair of vertices in an (n, k)-star graph with connectivity n − 1. Since Lin et al. [T.C. Lin, D.R. Duh, H.C. Cheng, Wide diameter of (n, k)-star networks, in: Proceedings of the International Conference on Computing, Communications and Control Technologies, vol. 5, 2004, pp. 160-165] already calculated the wide diameters in (n, n − 1)-star and (n, 1)-star graphs, this study only considers an (n, k)-star with 2 ? k ? n − 2. The length of the longest container among all constructed containers serves as the upper bound of the wide diameter of an (n, k)-star graph. The lower bound of the wide diameter of an (n, k)-star graph with 2 ? k ? ⌊n/2⌋ and the lower bound of the wide diameter of a regular graph with a connectivity of 2 or above are also computed. Measurement results indicate that the wide diameter of an (n, k)-star graph is its diameter plus 2 for 2 ? k ? ⌊n/2⌋, or its diameter plus a value between 1 and 2 for ⌊n/2⌋ + 1 ? k ? n − 2.  相似文献
