Experimental cloud-point data to 210 ‡C and 2,200 bar are presented for binary and ternary mixtures of poly(methyl acrylate)-CO2-methy acrylate and poly(ethyl acrylate)-CO2, propylene, and 1-butene-ethyl aerylate systems. The accuracy of the experimental apparatus was tested by comparing the measured
pressure-temperature phase behavior data of the poly(ethyl acrylate)-CO2 system obtained in this study with those of Rindfleisch et al. [1995]. The phase behaviors for the system poly(methyl acrylate)-CO2-methyl acrylate were measured in changes of pressure-temperature slope, and with cosolvent concentrations of 0, 5.0, 13.7,
25.3, and 43.3 wt%, respectively. With 48.3 wt% methyl acrylate to the poly(methyl acrylate)-CO2 solution significantly changes, the phase behavior curve takes on the appearance of a typical lower critical solution temperature
(LCST) boundary. The impact of ethyl acrylate on the cloud-point for the poly(ethyl acrylate)-CO2 system shows the change of slope of the phase behavior curves from negative to positive with ethyl acrylate concentration
of 0, 8.2, and 25.0 wt%. The cloud-point behavior for the poly(ethyl acrylate)-CO2-39.5 wt% ethyl acrylate system shows an LCST curve. The solubility curve to ∼150 ‡C and 1,650 bar for poly(ethyl acrylate)-propylene-ethyl

The photopolymerization of vinyl acrylate has been investigated using real-time FTIR. The acrylate and vinyl groups exhibit different polymerization kinetics with the acrylate functionality polymerizing at a much faster rate. Vinyl acrylate not only self-initiates its own free-radical polymerization, but also photoinitiates the polymerization of mono- and difunctional acrylates. Kinetic studies using a model monomer system indicate that it is essential for the acrylate and vinyl group to be part of the same molecule in order to function as an effective initiator for acrylate polymerization. 相似文献

Wool fibres were grafted with methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, n-butyl acrylate and methylmethacrylate to various percentages of grafting in nitrogen atmosphere using ceric ammonium nitrate in nitric acid as initiator. The effects of concentration of the initiator, acid, monomer, temperature and time on the grafting were investigated. A comparison of such results indicated the following reactivity order of monomers: methyl acrylate > ethyl acrylate > methylmethacrylate > n-butyl acrylate. The molecular weights of the grafts were investigated by isolating the grafts from the fibres. 相似文献

Four interpenetrating polymer networks were prepared by swelling crosslinked Acronal (a copolymer of styrene and butyl acrylate) with methyl acrylate plus crosslinking agent and then polymerizing the methyl acrylate in situ. Certain properties of the constituent network materials, plus the interpenetrating polymer networks which contained 70, 50, 35 and 25% by weight of polymethyl acrylate, were investigated. Electron microscopy showed the interpenetrating polymer networks to be two-phase materials with the polymethyl acrylate domain size increasing with increasing polymethyl acrylate content. Longitudinal sonic velocity measurements indicate that at around 50% by weight of polymethyl acrylate both phases become continuous while dynamic mechanical spectroscopy leads to the view that the constituent networks were not extensively mixed. 相似文献
