The eventual success of any early research project is uncertain. It has been generally recognized that commercial and applied research projects need to be screened prior to undertaking extensive development effort. But how many projects should be continued into development? This paper presents a model to determine an average optimal number of research projects to be developed. The research and development is viewed as a two-stage process, where the task of research is to reduce the uncertainty for eventual development. Research projects consist of both technical and business evaluation, including marketing research. The number of research projects undertaken should be a function of the cost effectiveness of the research effort and the ability of the organization to support the development effort. We have created an analytical model of research and development based on the concept that the function of research is to improve the likelihood of development success. Based on this model and within its limitations, we conclude that (1) an optimum fraction of projects that should be developed usually exists and (2) that optimum fraction is critically dependent on the relative average research project cost and effectiveness compared to development  相似文献

针对高校保密管理工作中存在的问题,系统分析了高校科研保密的风险因素和高校科研泄密事件的客观发生规律,深入剖析了高校科研保密工作中消除泄密隐患或避防泄密事件的管理机理。在此基础上,构建了一种层次化的高校科研保密预警管理系统,给出了相应的管理对策。该系统能预警、预防或预控泄密事件的发生,降低泄密事件的发生率,提高保密管理的有效性,为高校科研保密管理工作提供了一种新思路。  相似文献

This paper presents an empirical study on the strategic structure of corporate R&D in Japanese and Australian technology-based companies. The perceived importance and distribution of basic research, precompetitive strategic research and applied research within a corporate R&D portfolio are examined through a comparative analysis of survey data. The results suggest that Japanese firms tend to place great emphasis on basic and precompetitive strategic research, although applied research still retains its importance. They recognize that basic research is critical to achieve long-term competitive advantages in the marketplace. Australian firms also realize the importance of basic research and the use of portfolio approach in R&D management. However, research work in Australian firms tends to focus on applied research with only a limited involvement in medium- and long-term research. Finally, it is concluded that Japanese firms utilize a portfolio approach to corporate R&D management more systematically than do their Australian counterparts  相似文献

传统的科研项目管理模式已无法适应当前科研迅速发展的需求,迫切需要建立一套适用于高职院校科研管理工作的科研项目信息管理平台.针对高职院校科研项目管理特点,提出了应用Struts框架实现科研项目信息管理系统的设计思想,阐述了系统处理功能设计及设计技巧,解决了业务逻辑和用户界面的分离,增强了代码重用性和可维护性.该系统已投入使用,运行良好,显著提高了科研项目管理的效率和质量.  相似文献

网络空间是所有信息系统的集合,是人类赖以生存的信息环境。网络空间安全已经从物理域、信息域安全扩展到以人为中心的认知域和社会域安全,对人的安全研究已经成为了网络空间安全的必然趋势。人是复杂多变的综合体,而人格作为人的稳定的心理特征,成为了人的安全相关研究的切入点。该文梳理当前网络空间安全中的人格研究,介绍了网络空间安全和人格的基本概念,提出了网络空间安全中人格的研究框架,涵盖理论研究、技术研究和技术应用3个层次;其中技术研究主要包括人格测量、人格的安全脆弱性和针对人的安全防护3部分;详细探讨了当前人格安全研究现状和存在的问题,最后讨论了未来的研究方向和发展趋势。  相似文献

"Without an appropriate research setting, a study cannot be qualified as a reasonable piece", this notion is manifested in the methodological polices. In this research, we attempt to examine previous studies within the scope of technology evolution and market perception in telecommunication industry through extracting research structures, methodologies, corresponding variables, and processing methods. A general process of social scientific research is adopted to analyze eighty-four selected papers; and simultaneously, the framework for doing this analysis is established, as well. In this manner, we inspect the subjects and the issues in these papers according to product types, academic domains, and divisions of technological evolution (from 1G to 4G). Then, their research designs are anatomized into the key dimensions of general research conventions. This research eventually provides an entire picture of a research scenario for mobile telecommunication industry; and apparently, this framewbrk can help scholars to establish specific tendencies for academic scenarios in future research plans. Also, we propose the main streams and emerging issues can be expected to engage in the future within both theacademic and the operational fields.  相似文献

Interaction design is a major issue for mobile information systems in terms of not only the choice of input/output channels and presentation of information, but also the application of context-awareness. To support experimentation with these factors, we have developed platforms to support the rapid prototyping of multi-channel, multi-modal, context-aware applications. The Java-based platform presented here is based on an integration of a cross-media link server and an object-oriented framework for advanced content publishing, along with a Client Controller and Context Engine. We also describe how this platform was used to develop a mobile tourist information system for an international arts festival where interaction was based on a combination of interactive paper and speech output. Moira C. Norrie is a Professor at ETH Zurich where she is head of the Institute for Information Systems and leads the Global Information Systems research group. Her research interests include object-oriented models and systems for data management, web engineering, mobile and personal information systems and interactive paper as a medium for integrating printed and digital information. Beat Signer is a Post-Doctoral researcher in the Global Information Systems research group at ETH Zurich. He received a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich in 2005 for his work investigating fundamental concepts for interactive paper and cross-media information management. His research interests include interactive paper, cross-media information management, object-oriented technologies and software engineering. Michael Grossniklaus is a research assistant in the Global Information Systems research group at ETH Zurich. He received a Diploma (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from ETH Zurich in 2001 and is currently completing his Ph.D. His main research interest is empowering information systems for context-aware data management and delivery in the domain of web engineering and mobile computing. Rudi Belotti was a research assistant in the Global Information Systems research group at ETH Zurich from 2004–2006. He received a Diploma (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from ETH Zurich in 2004. In his research, he developed a general model and engine for the management of context information in mobile information systems. He is currently working for an e-business services company in Ticino, Switzerland. Corsin Decurtins is a research assistant in the Global Information Systems research group at ETH Zurich. He received a Diploma (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from ETH Zurich in 2002. His research focusses on model-based approaches and infrastructure for ubiquitous and mobile information environments. In addition to his Ph.D. Corsin also works part-time as a senior software engineer at the software company Netcetera. Nadir Weibel is a research assistant in the Global Information Systems research group at ETH Zurich. He received a Diploma (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from ETH Zurich in 2003 and is currently working on his Ph.D. His research is in the area of interactive paper, particularly on the authoring and publishing infrastructure for interactive documents as well as issues of human computer interaction and mobile environments.  相似文献

The SRC (Semiconductor Research Corporation) was formed in 1982 to conduct generic, cooperative university research in the field of integrated circuits. An overview is provided of the methodologies used by the SRC for the identification of pacing integrated-circuit technologies, for research program planning and management, and for the transfer of research results to members. Several case studies are developed that illustrate the SRC approach to the conduct of research and that give a perspective on the broad spectrum of research results being produced. The SRC has found that the process of defining generic research goals, followed by the development and implementation of research plans to achieve the stated goals, provides effective focus and metrics for measuring research progress. It is the SRC's experience that focused university research can provide substantial contributions to the advancement of semiconductor technology as well as an additional work force to enhance the industry, university, and government technical infrastructure of the United States  相似文献
