This article will discuss a false dichotomy between two models, the modern art studio and the post-studio, which oppose the private and the public, the individual and the collective, hiding and the revealing. We will begin by analysing Daniel Buren’s position in his canonical text “Fonction de l’Atelier” and his practice, where the artist defines the foundations of post-studio work. As the text also describes a New York studio type that must be left behind, we will analyse Jackson Pollock’s and Andy Warhol’s workspaces through drawing reconstructions to demonstrate that these meet the defining characteristics of both models. It will be shown that the artists have used design strategies to retain certain aspects of studio culture while exploring others of the post-studio. This turning point reveals that the current belief about the obsolescence of the studio in a global era defined by communication, networking and mobility ignores its emerging post-studio qualities. This work aims to acknowledge this shift, obtaining a critical vision that will allow us to design contemporary workspaces avoiding stereotypical and reductionist approaches.  相似文献

气流组织设计是设计空调器性能实验室的核心之一,在研究空调器性能实验室气流组织设计的基础上,建立相应的数学及物理模型,划分相应的网格结构,运用CFD软件进行模拟,采用导流板来减少旋流的产生,与不加导流板所产生的空调器性能试验室内流场分布进行对比,发现设置导流板的静压室内气流更加平稳。同时模拟导流板放置不同位置时周围流场的变化,寻找较优导流板的放置位置,达到减少旋流的影响、使实验室工作区气压更加均匀的目的,从而使空调器性能测试实验结果更加准确可靠。  相似文献

Much literature finds that migrants’ remittances have positive effects on the labor-outsourcing regions; however, it should be noted that the massive funds outflow from the labor host regions poses an impact on these regions as well. Moreover, the existing literature sheds little light on the theoretical study of remittances within one economy. This article theoretically analyzes the economic impact of migrants’ remittances on the labor host regions, the urban regions, and establishes a three-sector general equilibrium model to investigate the impacts of an increase in remittances on wage, employment and welfare level in the urban regions from the short- and long-term perspectives. We find that an increase in remittances will reduce the output of the informal sector and decrease urban residents’ welfare in the short term, while it will increase the output of the informal sector and augment urban residents’ welfare in the long term.  相似文献

It is argued that Mormon temple garments reveal something of the process whereby religious identity receives reinforcement and protection through the stabilizing effects of material symbols. Such symbols are often described as “boundaries” or “boundary markers.” In the case of Latter-Day Saints’ ritual clothing, however, this essay contends that identity is more often reinforced in relation to the religious community; the garments create cultural meaning and communicate between insiders. This clothing, then, displays many of the hallmarks of the identity theory adumbrated in the mid-twentieth century by sociologist Hans Mol. Mol suggested that identity is the stable half of a stability/adaptability dialectic, and religion is the sacralization of that identity. This paper explores Mormon temple garments as material mechanisms of stabilization, the efficacy of which is to be found in their capacity to anchor emotions, behaviors, and (ultimately) identity in social “covenants.” This social cohesion is bolstered by the immutability of the temple garment as an identity generator. Thus, it is argued that Mol’s concept of religious identity illuminates at least one attribute of Mormon ritual dress—namely, its identity-conferring potential. Hidden beneath conventional clothing, these garments serve less as boundary markers and more as signifiers of conformity to a social ideal.  相似文献

Hawaii is on the threshold of collapse. Over a century of American colonization and exploitation of the islands and their people has resulted in the island chain facing critical environmental and cultural catastrophe. This article examines the emergence of Rapid ‘Ōhi‘a Death as a critical aeolian pathogen capable of wiping out the most culturally and ecologically significant species representing over 50% of Hawaii’s forests. Plantation histories are unpacked as foundational tools which directly led to deep alteration to the cultural fabric and landscape of the islands, accelerating the complex issues faced by Hawaii and Hawaiians today. This crisis offers landscape architects and the design professions grounds for a new methodology to approach both ecological and cultural issues as one to tackle the issues stemming from ongoing climate change. Furthermore, the article underscores the need to rethink the American fetishization of the Hawaiian Islands and look instead to how land stewardship and landscape practices can facilitate a self-determinant, equitable, and resilient future.  相似文献

采用现场实验的方法研究了送风量对渗透式纤维空气分布系统送风时表面空气流速和纤维空气分布系统空腔内部轴向空气压力分布的影响。实验结果表明:送风量对渗透式纤维空气分布系统对空气的“自整流”作用影响较小,与空气渗透流速大小成线形关系。随着送风量的增加,渗透式纤维空气分布系统空腔内部空气总压和静压值逐渐增加,静压增加梯度和动压衰减梯度越来越大,末端处静压复得现象愈明显。研究结果可为相应的数值模拟及工程设计提供参考。  相似文献

从木结构房屋的构造形式特点出发 ,研究了不同烈度地震作用下木结构房屋的震害特点 ,并以西安回民保护区典型木结构房屋为例 ,按 8度抗震设防考虑 ,分别对木结构房屋的纵向、横向进行了内力分析和承载力计算 ,并利用通用有限元程序ANSYS对木结构房屋进行了三维空间分析。通过平面与空间的计算 ,指出木结构房屋抗震存在的问题 ,讨论了对木结构房屋应采取的抗震保护措施  相似文献

This paper presents new proposals in the evaluation and determination of the optimum materials suitable for use in the design and development of firefighter protective clothing by simultaneously addressing the conflicting factors of thermal protection [heat transfer index (HTI), radiant heat transfer index (RHTI) and thermal threshold index (TTI)] and anti-heat stress [water vapor resistance (WVR) and total heat loss (THL)]. To achieve this, this paper proposes new indices for the materials, two types of “total performance” indices, which are defined as the sum and the product of the competing factors of thermal protection and anti-heat stress. The results showed that the candidate materials of firefighter protective clothing were easily rated when the new indices were applied. Of five candidate materials viz. A, B, B1, B2 and C, the B sample, with values for HTI24?=?13.2?±?0.2 s, RHTI24?=?18.0?±?0.8 s, TTI?=?1132?±?33 J/m2, WVR?=?17.5?±?0.3 m2 Pa/W and THL?=?266.2?±?4.1 W/m2, was found to exhibit the best total performance. However, the methods proposed to the scientific community in this paper have so far been validated on a limited data set only, and will require further validation by a wider group of researchers and with more samples. There has been some research into the level of damage and changes to important properties of firefighters’ protective clothing after exposure to conditions such as elevated temperature and ultra violet radiation. However, at this time, the results are not comprehensive enough to develop a standard procedure to estimate the remaining useful life of firefighters’ protective clothing. There is also a need to develop non-destructive techniques to evaluate clothing, for most tests used to evaluate properties of clothing are destructive, and visual cues cannot completely assess the level of deterioration of the properties of thermal protective fabrics. In this paper, major factors that affect the continuing performance of firefighters’ protective clothing and their effects on the service life of the clothing are reviewed. Some non-destructive methods which have been employed in different studies to evaluate the degradation of physical properties of firefighters’ protective clothing are also described, along with statistical and probabilistic methods for estimating the useful life of materials. Suggestions for future research, which will assist fire departments in determining the level of damage to clothing, and estimating its remaining useful life are also discussed.  相似文献
