The synergistic inhibition effect of rare earth cerium(IV) ion and anionic surfactant of sodium oleate (C17H33-COONa, SO) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in H2SO4 solution was first investigated by weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization methods. The results revealed that SO had a moderate inhibitive effect, and the adsorption of SO obeyed the Freundlich adsorption isotherm. For the cerium(IV) ion, it had a negligible effect. However, incorporation of Ce4+ with SO significantly improved the inhibition performance, and produced strong synergistic inhibition effect. Depending on the results, the synergism mechanism was proposed.  相似文献

The synergistic inhibition effect of rare earth cerium(IV) ion and 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehye (DHBA) on corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in H2SO4 solution was first investigated by weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization methods. Effects of inhibitor concentration, temperature, immersion time and acid concentration on synergism are discussed in detail. The results reveal that DHBA has moderate inhibitive effect and its adsorption obeys Temkin adsorption isotherm. For the cerium(IV) ion, it has negligible effect. However, incorporation of Ce4+ with DHBA improves the inhibition performance significantly, and produces strong synergistic inhibition effect.  相似文献

The synergism between rare earth cerium(IV) ion and vanillin on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M HCl solution was first investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometer (UV–vis), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and atomic force microscope (AFM). The results revealed that vanillin had a moderate inhibitive effect, and the adsorption of vanillin obeyed the Temkin adsorption isotherm. For rare earth Ce4+, it had a negligible effect. However, incorporation of Ce4+ with vanillin significantly improved the inhibition performance, and produced strong synergistic inhibition effect. Depending on the results, the synergism mechanism was proposed.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of blue tetrazolium (BT) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M HCl solution at 20 °C was investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The results show that BT is a very good inhibitor, and the adsorption of BT on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Polarization curves reveal that BT acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS spectra exhibit one capacitive loop and confirm the inhibitive ability. The inhibition action of BT is also evidenced by SEM images.  相似文献

The synergistic inhibition effect of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) and iodide ion (I) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M H3PO4 solution was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that BAP has a moderate inhibitive effect. However, incorporation of BAP with I improves the inhibition performance significantly. The adsorption of BAP in the absence and presence of I obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. BAP and BAP/I mixture act as mixed-type inhibitors. A probable synergism mechanism is proposed.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of methyl violet (MV) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M HCl solution at 20-50 °C was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The results show that MV is an excellent inhibitor even with very low concentration, and the adsorption of MV on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Potentiodynamic polarization curves reveal that MV behaves as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS spectra exhibit one capacitive loop and confirm the inhibitive ability. The inhibition action of MV is also evidenced by SEM.  相似文献

Sodium tungstate (Na2WO4) as a corrosion inhibitor of cold rolled steel (CRS) in peracetic acid (PAA) solution was investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). All the data obtained from the experiments indicate that Na2WO4 is capable of inhibiting the corrosion of CRS in PAA solution. Polarization data show that Na2WO4 behaves as an anodic type inhibitor in PAA solution. Adsorption of Na2WO4 is found to follow the Temkin adsorption isotherm. The calculated free energy of adsorption (ΔGads) probably indicates that both physical adsorption and chemical adsorption may take place in the adsorption process.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of two pyrazine derivatives of 2-aminopyrazine (AP) and 2-amino-5-bromopyrazine (ABP) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that both AP and ABP are good inhibitors, and inhibition efficiency follows the order: ABP > AP. The adsorption of each inhibitor on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Potentiodynamic polarization curves show that two pyrazine derivatives act as mixed-type inhibitors. EIS spectra exhibit one capacitive loop and confirm the inhibitive ability.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of acid violet 6B (AV6B) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0–5.0 M HCl solution was studied for the first time by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that AV6B is a very good inhibitor in 1.0 M HCl, and the adsorption of AV6B on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Polarization curves reveal that AV6B behaves as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS spectra exhibit one capacitive loop and confirm the inhibitive ability. Effects of immersion time and acid concentration on inhibition performance were also discussed.  相似文献

Tris-hydroxymethyl-(2-hydroxybenzylidenamino)-methane (THHM) was synthesized. The effect of THHM on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid was then investigated by Tafel polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Polarization curve results clearly reveal the fact that THHM is a good cathodic type inhibitor. EIS results confirm its corrosion inhibition ability. The inhibition efficiency increases with increasing THHM concentration but decreases with immersion time. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) reveals that a protective film forms on the surface of the inhibited sample. The adsorption of this inhibitor is found to follow the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. THHM adsorbs on the sample probably by chemisorption.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of Tween-20 as a nonionic surfactant on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0-8.0 M HCl has been studied at different temperatures (20-50 °C) by weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization methods. Atomic force microscope (AFM) provided the CRS surface conditions. The results show that Tween-20 is a good inhibitor in 1.0 M HCl, and the inhibition efficiency (IE) increases with the inhibitor concentration, while decreases with increasing the hydrochloric acid concentration and temperature. Effect of immersion time was also studied and discussed. The adsorption of inhibitor on the CRS surface obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation. Both thermodynamic and kinetic parameters have been obtained by adsorption theory and kinetic equations. The inhibition effect is satisfactorily explained by the parameters. Polarization curves show that Tween-20 is a mixed-type inhibitor in hydrochloric acid. The results obtained from weight loss and polarization are in good agreement, and Tween-20 inhibition action could also be evidenced by surface AFM images.  相似文献

The synergistic inhibition effect of rhodanine (Rdn) and iodide ion on the corrosion of copper in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was studied using electrochemical techniques. The surface morphologies of the substrates were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Elemental analysis of electrode surface exposed to test solution was determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). It was found that Rdn provided satisfactory inhibition on the corrosion of copper. Moreover, its inhibition efficiency further increased in the presence of iodide ions due to synergistic effect. Finally, a mechanism of inhibition is proposed and discussed.  相似文献

The behavior of the Schiff base N,N′-bis(salicylidene)-1,2-ethylenediamine (Salen), its reduced form (N,N′-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,2-ethylenediamine) and a mixture of its preceding molecules, ethylenediamine and salicylaldehyde, as carbon steel corrosion inhibitors in 1 mol L−1 HCl solution was studied by corrosion potential measurements, potentiodynamic polarization curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and spectrophotometry measurements. The experimental results showed that the reduced Salen presented the highest efficiency among the inhibitors studied. The results obtained in the presence of Salen were similar to those obtained in the presence of the salicylaldehyde and ethylenediamine mixture, showing that in acid medium the Salen molecule undergoes hydrolysis, regenerating its precursor molecules.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of polyaspartic acid (PASP) and its synergistic effect with KI on mild steel corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution are studied by weight loss and electrochemical methods. The inhibition efficiency increases with the concentration of PASP and increases further with the presence of 1 mM KI. Result of the zero charge potential measurement shows that iodide ion promotes the film formation of PASP greatly. The mild steel surfaces after immersion test were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. An adsorption model is proposed to elucidate the synergistic mechanism of synergistic effect.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of benzyltrimethylammonium iodide (BTAI) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in phosphoric acid produced by dihydrate wet method process (7.0 M H3PO4) solution was investigated for the first time by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The results show that BTAI is a good inhibitor, and the adsorption of BTAI obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Polarization curves show that BTAI behaves as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS spectra exhibit one capacitive loop and confirm the inhibitive ability. The inhibition action of BTAI is also evidenced by SEM images.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0-7.0 M H2SO4 at 25-50 °C was studied by weight loss and potentiodynamic polarization methods. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and atomic force microscope (AFM) were used to characterize the CRS surface. The results showed that BAP was a good inhibitor in 1.0 M H2SO4, and the adsorption of BAP obeyed the Temkin adsorption isotherm. 4-(N,N-diethylamino)benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (DEABT) was studied for its corrosion inhibition property on the corrosion of aged 18 Ni 250 grade maraging steel in 0.67 M phosphoric acid at 30–50 °C by potentiodynamic polarization, EIS and weight loss techniques. Inhibition efficiency of DEABT was found to increase with the increase in DEABT concentration and decrease with the increase in temperature. The activation energy Ea and other thermodynamic parameters (Δ, Δ, Δ) have been evaluated and discussed. The adsorption of DEABT on aged maraging steel surface obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model and the inhibitor showed mixed type inhibition behavior.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of nitrotetrazolium blue chloride (NTBC) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 0.5 M H2SO4 was investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that NTBC is a good inhibitor, and the adsorption of NTBC on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Polarization curves show that NTBC acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS spectra consist of large capacitive loop at high frequencies followed by a small inductive one at low frequency values, and charge transfer resistance increases with the inhibitor concentration.  相似文献

The corrosion inhibition effect of 2-[4-(methylthio) phenyl] acetohydrazide (HYD), 2-{[4-(methylthio) phenyl] acetyl} hydrazinecarbothioamide (TAD) and 5-[4-(methylthio) benzyl]-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (TRD) on steel in 1.0 M HCl was investigated by mass loss and electrochemical methods. The effect of concentration, temperature and immersion time was studied. The results indicated that the compounds are efficient, mixed type and pursue Flory–Huggins adsorption isotherm. The inhibition efficiency at lower concentration of inhibitor decreased with temperature while at higher concentration, it is retained and the calculated free energy attributes this to comprehensive adsorption. The efficiency stands in the order TRD > TAD > HYD and is confirmed by the Quantum studies.  相似文献

The synergism between red tetrazolium (RT) and uracil (Ur) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in H2SO4 solution is first investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and atomic force microscope (AFM). Effects of inhibitor concentration (25-500 mg l−1), temperature (20-50 °C), and acid concentration (1.0-5.0 M) on synergism are discussed systematically. The results reveal that RT has a moderate inhibitive effect, and its adsorption obeys the Freundlich adsorption isotherm. For Ur, it has a poor effect. However, incorporation of RT with Ur significantly improves the inhibition performance, and produces synergistic inhibition effect.  相似文献
