Output spectra of the argon ion laser

The output spectra of an A+ laser in its λ 4879.90 Å transition has been observed at various levels above threshold, in a ring resonator, a two-mirror resonator of the same longitudinal mode spacing (107 Mc/s), and another two-mirror resonator of about three times that mode spacing. Oscillations were restricted to the fundamental (Gaussian) mode. The A+ laser spectra display three novel features, hitherto unobserved in the oscillation spectra of neutral-gas lasers [17], which appear to stem, at least in part, from its large natural line width: 1) At moderate levels above threshold, the spectra are extraordinarily stable, and usually characterized by gaps of many mode spacings between oscillations. 2) Above a critical level, oscillations occur in random sequence at all resonances, with violent amplitude fluctuations at each frequency. 3) The time-average envelope of the unstable "multimode" oscillations exhibits three well-defined maxima, which give way to a single maximum at a higher excitation level. The line shift of the laser transition has been measured to within about 10 percent, by comparing oscillation frequencies at the center of symmetrical spectra in the two counter-circulating waves of the ring laser.

High-power single-frequency argon ion laser

Single-frequency oscillation has been obtained from an Ar laser of increased power level with the help of a three-mirror Smith reflector (power in the 4880-Å line was 2 watts). Equations and plots that permit the choice of optimum parameters of the three-mirror reflector are given. It is shown that for effective frequency selection in a high-power laser of great length it is necessary to use beam splitter reflectivities exceeding 0.5. Single-frequency lasers of this type may be used in holography.

CW ruby laser pumped by an argon ion laser

A simple CW ruby laser pumped by a 514.5-nm argon ion laser, utilizing an uncoated ruby rod (no external mirrors), is described. The output does not exhibit spiking, but does show a low amplitude ∼1 percent) of modulation.     

声光主动锁模氩离子激光器

采用声光调制,以AM方式对氩离子激光器进行了主动锁模实验,观测到由锁模作用产生的激光超短脉冲序列.实测脉宽为800微微秒,重复频率为103兆周.此外还分别观测了调制深度和失谐度的影响.实验结果与有关理论计算较好地一致.     

A high-power pulsed xenon ion laser

Over 80 kW of peak power has been obtained on the combined visible lines of a pulsed xenon ion laser. Light pulse shapes of the strongest lines are discussed.     

重复频率可调的脉冲氩离子激光器

这里介绍的是一台脉冲放电、频率从50赫芝到200赫芝连续可调的氩离子激光器。它为超声全息提供一个可见的相干光源。它输出的可见光在蓝—绿光谱区域。最强的光谱线是4880埃和5145埃。该器件用国产GG-17料制成。放电毛细管和阴极泡用水冷却。放电管内径是6毫米,长度是860毫米。谐振腔总长为1200毫米。工作物质是氩气,并加入辅助气体He。输出光中可清楚地看到五条谱线。光脉冲宽度为6微秒。在最佳工作电流时功率可达30瓦至50瓦。加氦气比纯氩运转时的寿命长三倍左右。     

高功率脉冲染料激光振荡-放大器

报道一种用倍频Nd:YAG激光纵向泵浦、双棱镜一维扩束的染料激光系统,经过二级放大,输出总效率达31%.当泵浦光为40 mJ时,得到12.2mJ、 2MW,线宽为0.18(?)的可调谐染料激光输出,重复率可达10次/秒.     

高峰值功率脉冲氟化氢激光器

报道了大体积火花预电离横向放电的脉冲HF激光器。通过采用紧凑的结构安排,在放电体积为4cm×5cm×90cm的SF6和C2H6混合气中获得了均匀稳定的放电。在总气压为12.6kPa、最高充电电压45kV时,激光输出脉冲能量为3J,激光脉冲峰值功率约18MW。     

连续锁模Ar~+激光器的噪声特性

本文从时域特性出发,分析了锁模Ar~+激光器中噪声的来源,假设表征光脉冲强度涨落的随机函数为A(t)=A_oexp[-i(Ωt+(?)_t)],得到描述光强涨落的噪声谱为罗仑兹线形,这与实验结果是一致的.     

大电流脉冲方波激光电源

采用可控硅开关元件和大功率三极管放大元件相结合的方案,得到稳定大电流脉冲方波激光电源,脉冲电流可达80A,平顶电流波动小于2％。     

Output characteristics of a corona-preionized XeCl laser

The output characteristics of a corona-preionized XeCl laser are described. Measurements in an He-based mixture up to 5 bars and in an Ne-based mixture up to 10 bars are presented. The maximum obtained output energy per unit volume is more than 9 J/l.     

脉冲氩离子激光及其在“超声全息”中的应用

对通常的玻璃壳连续氩离子激光器采用维弧激励二步法,可以获得寿命长、效率高的脉冲氩离子激光。磁场是脉冲氩离子激光提高功率输出的重要条件。脉冲氩离子激光用于液面法声全息提高了动态声全息的成象质量。     

Near-infrared operating characteristics of the mercury ion laser

Experiments on the pulsed mercury-helium laser have revealed a new line at 7418 Å. The laser was examined specifically with regard to operation at 7945 Å, and it was found that the optimum He pressure is 30 torr. The high optimum pressure implies that collision mixing helps to populate the upper state.     

Output power characteristics of erbium-doped fiber ring lasers

The output power of an erbium-doped fiber ring laser has been measured as a function of pump power, emission wavelength, doped-fiber length, and reflectivity of the output coupler. A theoretical model for the calculation of the output power is introduced that is based on a previously derived gain equation for erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. The calculated values are in good agreement with the experimental data, confirming the applicability of the theory to a reliable modeling of the output power of erbium fiber ring lasers     

端面泵浦掺镱双包层光纤激光器功率输出特性研究

基于端面泵浦掺镱双包层光纤激光器的速率方程,应用MATLAB语言编程,分别数值模拟了功率为60瓦前端泵浦、后端泵浦和双端都为30瓦泵浦时掺镱双包层光纤激光器对应的功率输出特性和粒子数密度值特性,增大不同端面输入功率观察输出功率特性,研究得到后端泵浦上能级粒子数分布平坦,输出功率较大,为50.4705瓦。并且增大输入功率时得到双端泵浦输出功率较大。研究结论为提高掺镱双包层光纤激光器功率输出提供理论和实验参考。     

直角内圆锥面全反镜折叠腔激光器的输出特性

为简化高功率激光器谐振腔结构,提高激光谐振腔的稳定性特别是热稳定性,增加基模体积,改善光束质量,采用直角内圆锥面反射镜作为全反镜,平行平面镜作为输出镜组成新型激光谐振腔.实验结果表明,在圆锥全反镜失调角小于37.3′时,圆锥折叠腔激光器的单脉冲输出能量下降小于5%,且近场输出光斑没有明显变化;经模式仪分析表明,圆锥折叠腔激光近场光强分布均匀.圆锥反射镜折叠具有非常强的抗失调能力,结构简单,便于安装调整,特别适合于恶劣环境下的强激光系统应用.     

Hyperdoping of Si by ion implantation and pulsed laser melting

Ion implantation followed by pulsed laser melting is an extensively-studied method for hyperdoping Si with impurity concentrations that exceed the equilibrium solubility limit by orders of magnitude. In the last decade, hyperdoped Si has attracted renewed interest for its potential as an intermediate band material. In this review, we first examine the important experimental results on both solid and liquid phase crystal regrowth from early laser annealing studies. The highly non-equilibrium regrowth kinetics following pulsed laser melting and its implications for dopant incorporation processes are discussed. We then review recent work in hyperdoped Si for enhanced sub-band gap photoresponse and give a brief discussion on photodetector device performance.
