This paper designs a decentralized neural network (NN) controller for a class of nonlinear large-scale systems, in which strong interconnections are involved. NNs are used to handle unknown functions. The proposed scheme is proved guaranteeing the boundedness of the closed-loop subsystems using only local feedback signals.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new decentralized adaptive neural network controller for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems with unknown non-affine subsystems and unknown interconnections represented by nonlinear functions. A radial basis function neural network is used to represent the controller’s structure. The stability of the closed loop system is guaranteed through Lyapunov stability analysis. The effectiveness of the proposed decentralized adaptive controller is illustrated by considering two nonlinear systems: a two-inverted pendulum and a turbo generator. The simulation results verify the merits of the proposed controller.  相似文献

In this paper, two different backstepping neural network (NN) control approaches are presented for a class of affine nonlinear systems in the strict-feedback form with unknown nonlinearities. By a special design scheme, the controller singularity problem is avoided perfectly in both approaches. Furthermore, the closed loop signals are guaranteed to be semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded and the outputs of the system are proved to converge to a small neighborhood of the desired trajectory. The control performances of the closed-loop systems can be shaped as desired by suitably choosing the design parameters. Simulation results obtained demonstrate the effectiveness of the approaches proposed. The differences observed between the inputs of the two controllers are analyzed briefly.  相似文献

In this note, direct adaptive neural network (NN) control is studied for a class of multiple-input-multiple-output nonlinear systems based on input-output discrete-time model with unknown interconnections between subsystems. By finding an orthogonal matrix to tune the NN weights, the closed-loop system is proven to be semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded. The control performance of the closed-loop system is guaranteed by suitably choosing the design parameters.  相似文献

A neural-network-based direct control architecture is presented that achieves output tracking for a class of continuous-time nonlinear plants, for which the nonlinearities are unknown. The controller employs neural networks to perform approximate input/output plant linearization. The network parameters are adapted according to a stability principle. The architecture is based on a modification of a method previously proposed by the authors, where the modification comprises adding a sliding control term to the controller. This modification serves two purposes: first, as suggested by Sanner and Slotine,1 sliding control compensates for plant uncertainties outside the state region where the networks are used, thus providing global stability; second, the sliding control compensates for inherent network approximation errors, hence improving tracking performance. A complete stability and tracking error convergence proof is given and the setting of the controller parameters is discussed. It is demonstrated that as a result of using sliding control, better use of the network's approximation ability can be achieved, and the asymptotic tracking error can be made dependent only on inherent network approximation errors and the frequency range of unmodelled dynamical modes. Two simulations are provided to demonstrate the features of the control method.  相似文献

In this paper we solve a decentralized nonlinear control problem where actuator valves and flow rate sensors are collocated in individual branches and do not exchange information. This is in contrast to our previous paper where a centralized controller required measurements from all the branches of the network. We solve both regulation (constant references) and tracking (time varying reference signals) problems. To eliminate conservativeness in choosing the gains of the controllers, we employ adaptation. We illustrate the results with an example reminiscent of a blood flow network.  相似文献

Zhang et al. presented an excellent neural-network (NN) controller for a class of nonlinear control designs. The singularity issue is completely avoided. Based on a modified Lyapunov function, their lemma illustrates the existence of an ideal control which is important in establishing the NN approximator. In this paper, we provide a Lyapunov function to realize an alternative ideal control which is more direct and simpler. The major contributions of this paper are divided into two parts. First, it proposes a control scheme which results in a smaller dimensionality of NN than that of Zhang et al. In this way, the proposed NN controller is easier to implement and more reliable for practical purposes. Second, by removing certain restrictions from the design reported by Zhang et al., we further develop a new NN controller, which can be applied to a wider class of systems.  相似文献

Nonlinear adaptive control of interconnected systems using neural networks   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In this letter, we solve the problem of decentralized adaptive asymptotic tracking for a class of large scale systems with significant nonlinearities and uncertainties. Neural networks (NNs) are used as a control part to cancel the effect of the unknown nonlinearity. Semiglobal asymptotic stability results are obtained and the tracking error converges to zero.  相似文献

Stable adaptive control using fuzzy systems and neural networks   总被引:12,自引:0,他引:12
Stable direct and indirect adaptive controllers are presented, which use Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems, conventional fuzzy systems, or a class of neural networks to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal for a class of continuous-time nonlinear plants with poorly understood dynamics. The indirect adaptive scheme allows for the inclusion of a priori knowledge about the plant dynamics in terms of exact mathematical equations or linguistics while the direct adaptive scheme allows for the incorporation of such a priori knowledge in specifying the controller. We prove that with or without such knowledge both adaptive schemes can “learn” how to control the plant, provide for bounded internal signals, and achieve asymptotically stable tracking of a reference input. In addition, for the direct adaptive scheme a technique is presented in which linguistic knowledge of the inverse dynamics of the plant may be used to accelerate adaptation. The performance of the indirect and direct adaptive schemes is demonstrated through the longitudinal control of an automobile within an automated lane  相似文献

This paper proposes an indirect adaptive control method using self recurrent wavelet neural networks (SRWNNs) for dynamic systems. The architecture of the SRWNN is a modified model of the wavelet neural network (WNN). However, unlike the WNN, since a mother wavelet layer of the SRWNN is composed of self-feedback neurons, the SRWNN can store the past information of wavelets. In the proposed control architecture, two SRWNNs are used as both an identifier and a controller. The SRWNN identifier approximates dynamic systems and provides the SRWNN controller with information about the system sensitivity. The gradient-descent method using adaptive learning rates (ALRs) is applied to train all weights of the SRWNN. The ALRs are derived from discrete Lyapunov stability theorem, which are applied to guarantee the convergence of the proposed control system. Finally, we perform some simulations to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.  相似文献

The authors present a decentralized robust adaptive output feedback control scheme for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems of the output feedback canonical form with unmodeled dynamics. A modified dynamic signal is introduced for each subsystem to dominate the unmodeled dynamics and an adaptive nonlinear damping is used to counter the effects of the interconnections. It is shown that under certain assumptions, the proposed decentralized adaptive control scheme guarantees that all the signals in the closed-loop system are bounded in the presence of unmodeled dynamics, high-order interconnections and bounded disturbances. Furthermore, by choosing the design constants appropriately, the tracking error can be made arbitrarily small regardless of the interconnections, disturbances, and unmodeled dynamics in the system. An illustration example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed scheme  相似文献

A robust adaptive control is proposed for a class of single-input single-output non-affine nonlinear systems. In order to approximate the unknown nonlinear function, a novel affine-type neural network is used, and then to compensate the approximation error and external disturbance a robust control term is employed. By Lyapunov stability analysis for the closed-loop system, it is proved that tracking errors asymptotically converge to zero. Moreover, an observer is designed to estimate the system states because all the states may not be available for measurements. Furthermore, the adaptation laws of neural networks and the robust controller are given out based on the Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, two simulation examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.  相似文献

A direct adaptive state-feedback controller is proposed for highly nonlinear systems. We consider uncertain or ill-defined nonaffine nonlinear systems and employ a neural network (NN) with flexible structure, i.e., an online variation of the number of neurons. The NN approximates and adaptively cancels an unknown plant nonlinearity. A control law and adaptive laws for the weights in the hidden layer and output layer of the NN are established so that the whole closed-loop system is stable in the sense of Lyapunov. Moreover, the tracking error is guaranteed to be uniformly asymptotically stable (UAS) rather than uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) with the aid of an additional robustifying control term. The proposed control algorithm is relatively simple and requires no restrictive conditions on the design constants for the stability. The efficiency of the proposed scheme is shown through the simulation of a simple nonaffine nonlinear system.  相似文献

This paper presents a robust adaptive output feedback control design method for uncertain non-affine non-linear systems, which does not rely on state estimation. The approach is applicable to systems with unknown but bounded dimensions and with known relative degree. A neural network is employed to approximate the unknown modelling error. In fact, a neural network is considered to approximate and adaptively make ineffective unknown plant non-linearities. An adaptive law for the weights in the hidden layer and the output layer of the neural network are also established so that the entire closed-loop system is stable in the sense of Lyapunov. Moreover, the robustness of the system against the approximation error of neural network is achieved with the aid of an additional adaptive robustifying control term. In addition, the tracking error is guaranteed to be uniformly and asymptotically stable, rather than uniformly ultimately bounded, by using this additional control term. The proposed control algorithm is relatively straightforward and no restrictive conditions on the design parameters for achieving the systems stability are required. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is shown through simulations of a non-affine non-linear system with unmodelled dynamics, and is compared with a second-sliding mode controller.  相似文献

We propose a decentralized neural network (NN) controller for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems with the strong interconnections. The NNs are used to approximate the unknown subsystems and interconnections. Due to the functional approximation capabilities of NNs, the additional precautions are not required to be made for avoiding the possible control singularity problems. Semiglobal asymptotic stability results are obtained and the tracking error converges to zero. Furthermore, the issue of transient performance of the subsystems is also addressed under an analytical framework.  相似文献

The servo-motor possesses a strongly nonlinear property due to the effect of the stimulating input voltage, load-torque and environmental operating conditions. So it is rather difficult to derive a traditional mathematical model which is capable of expressing both its dynamics and steady-state characteristics. A neural network-based adaptive control strategy is proposed in this paper. In this method, two neural networks have been adopted for system identification (NNI) and control (NNC), respectively. Then, the commonly-used specialized learning has been modified, by taking the NNI output as the approximation output of the servo-motor during the weights training to get sensitivity information. Moreover, the rule for choosing the learning rate is given on the basis of the analysis of Lyapunov stability. Finally, an example of applying the proposed control strategy on a servo-motor is presented to show its effectiveness.  相似文献

An adaptive neural network controller is developed to achieve output-tracking of a class of nonlinear systems. The global L2 stability of the closed-loop system is established. The proposed control design overcomes the limitation of the conventional adaptive neural control design where the modeling error brought by neural networks is assumed to be bounded over a compact set. Moreover, the generalized matching conditions are also relaxed in the proposed L2 control design as the gains for the external disturbances entering the system are allowed to have unknown upper bounds.  相似文献
