NMR spectroscopy is now a well‐established technique for the in situ study of surface chemistry and the chemical processes occurring during catalytic reactions. Developments in probe design are making the sample environments ever closer to the operating conditions of the catalyst in industrial use. In parallel with these advances there is an increasing interest in the application of field gradient magnetic resonance techniques, namely pulsed gradient spin echo (PGSE) NMR and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to in situ studies of mass transport processes in catalysts and reactors. An overview of the recent developments in in situ NMR spectroscopy, PGSE NMR and MRI studies in application to catalysis and reaction engineering is presented and the potential of these techniques in the numerical modelling of catalytic processes and reactor design is highlighted. In recent years, a high number of studies have demonstrated that neuropsychological functions are altered in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients with cerebellar lesions, mainly including attention, working memory and verbal fluency. Since the present literature is often elusive on this topic, we aim to provide a comprehensive report about the real impact of cerebellar damages (evaluated as volume, lesions or connectivity measures) on cognitive functions. In particular in this review, we report and discuss recent works from 2009 to 2015, which have demonstrated the key role of the cerebellum in cognitive impairment of MS patients. 相似文献

A new method for the quantitative three‐dimensional structure determination of a coarse filter medium as well as the particle deposition inside this medium is described. The filter structure was imaged at a voxel resolution of 59 μm which is close to the mean fiber diameter, therefore allowing individual fibers and their position to be determined. The data processing method for determining the filter structure as well as the quantification of the mass deposited in the filter are explained in detail. For particle deposition investigations the spatial resolution used was 235 μm. Hereby, a linear correlation between deposited mass and signal intensity was observed. 相似文献

In northeastern provinces of China, maize is one of the main sources of income in agriculture. After harvest, the grain is kept under subzero conditions for 3-4 months. Studies have been undertaken to assess the feasibility of drying at subzero temperatures during storage. Using a combination of NMR and MRI enabled a better understanding of physical states of water in the cv. Huangmo 417 during drying at subzero temperatures. The studies showed two water components with different relaxation times (long and short T1) that were found when temperature was lowered from +25 to -30°C. T1 was a minimum when the temperature was reduced to -20°C. T2 was found to be much shorter than T1. This was an indication that water mobility was decreasing at the same time as the temperature. The results from MRI revealed the location of frozen water in different areas of the maize kernel during subzero drying. This approach to characterizing the states of water in maize under subzero conditions will assist in devising drying strategies for northeastern China. 相似文献
