Process industries produce non-differentiable products which are packaged into a variety of sizes during the final production stage. In this environment, product family changeovers are performed during an off-shift period, while item changeovers, which are shorter in duration, may be performed during a shift. A heuristic for scheduling packaging lines is presented where a family setup cost is charged for an off-shift changeover and item lot sizes are determined subject to limited capacity and setup times. 相似文献

In process industries, the characteristics of industrial activities focus on the
integrality and continuity of production process, which can contribute to excavating the
appropriate features for industrial anomaly detection. From this perspective, this paper
proposes a novel state-based control feature extraction approach, which regards the finite
control operations as different states. Furthermore, the procedure of state transition can
adequately express the change of successive control operations, and the statistical
information between different states can be used to calculate the feature values.
Additionally, OCSVM (One Class Support Vector Machine) and BPNN (BP Neural
Network), which are optimized by PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) and GA (Genetic
Algorithm) respectively, are introduced as alternative detection engines to match with our
feature extraction approach. All experimental results clearly show that the proposed
feature extraction approach can effectively coordinate with the optimized classification
algorithms, and the optimized GA-BPNN classifier is suggested as a more applicable
detection engine by comparing its average detection accuracies with the ones of PSOOCSVM classifier. 相似文献

A major non‐trivial problem within the area of industrial safety management today is to analyse, next to the safety impact of the technical equipment, the safety impact of a ‘business process’ as currently required by regulation and safety standards. This paper describes a case study of a pesticide company struggling with the question of how to improve the safety of their operational process further and at the same time also improve the reliability of their operational process. According to the literature ‘control of the business process’ is the keyword to improve the safety and reliability ‘performance’ of a company. A formal control model is proposed together with a classification system (using maturity levels) to analyse and qualify business processes with respect to their impact on process safety. This method has been applied in a case study where it resulted in a model of a business process. Using the model it was possible to classify the business process control system used and to identify related improvement opportunities. The proposed method showed that, in contrast to the company's perception, it was not the production department that was responsible for most of the problems but the peripheral processes relating to the production department. The interaction between departments caused not only potential safety problems, but also caused system reliability problems. For the company it was demonstrated that the interdependency of the (different activities in the‐) operational process is an essential element preventing further improvement if not addressed properly. We describe how a generic multi-period optimization-based decision support system can be used for strategic and operational planning in process industries. Built on five fundamental elements—materials, facilities, activities, time periods and storage areas—this system requires little direct knowledge of optimization techniques to be used effectively. The development and validation of a new software named chemical accident simulation tool (CAST) is presented. CAST enables development of scenarios of different types of accidental fires and explosions that can occur in chemical process industry (CPI). CAST is also capable of assessing the likely consequences of such accidents in terms of the area impacted and the types of impacts. The distinguishing features of CAST are (a) it incorporates a larger set of established models than handled by existing packages to simulate a wider variety of accidents in CPI; (b) it is developed with an integrated mapping tool to display damage zones around accident center; this makes the application useful in decision making; and (c) it calculates the results in a fast and reliable manner. Due to these attributes, CAST has increased efficiency, better understanding of the accident scenarios, and better communication of results. Validation of the software has been done with published results which shows that the codes for calculating the impacts from accidents are correct. 相似文献
