Detonation of pressed HMX charges

The pressure-profile measurement results obtained in the shock-wave front in bromoform upon detonation of HMX charges of diameter 40 mm and length 22–110 mm are reported. The initial density of the charges was 1.81 g/cm³. In all the experiments, a monotonic decrease in pressure occurred, and a chemical peak was not observed. With increase in the charge length, the maximum pressure values first increase and then decrease. An analysis of the pressure measurement results shows that, for the given charge size and the initiation system used, the process of HMX detonation occurs in a nonstationary regime. Optimal parameters of borehole charges

Experimental data on full-scale borehole-charge explosions are outlined, with a view to establishing the optimal relation between the basic sinkhole parameters and the charge elongation coefficient. It is shown that the results of full-scale explosion are in good agreement with laboratory data.Krasnodar. Detonation parameters of pressed charges of benzotrifuroxane

The brightness temperature and pressure profiles of the detonation products of pressed charges of benzotrifuroxane were determined by a pyrometric method, and the heat of explosion and propellant performance were experimentally determined. The temperature of the detonation products (4100±150 K) was significantly lower than the calculated values reported in most theoretical papers. Compared to HMX, benzotrifuroxane has a higher heat of explosion but lower expansion velocity of the shell (T-20) method and Gurney energy.     

Mechanical effect of shaped charges with porous liners

This paper presents experimental data on the penetration of shaped charges with porous liners into metal targets located at distances smaller than or comparable to the diameter of the charge and some experimental data on the velocity of the jets from the investigated charges with liners of metal powders.
