One of the most important aspects of knowledge management (KM) is to create a system that is capable of providing mechanisms and methodologies allowing the right knowledge to be at the right place and at the right person as well as at the right time within an enterprise. There have been several models developed for this purpose. The main objectives of these models are to organize the knowledge activities to increase competitive advantage and turn the market share into a continuous and permanent superiority through utilizing the intellectual capital of the enterprise for better products and services. When existing models are carefully analyzed, it can be clearly seen that every model addresses different aspects of KM. While some of these models have been intensifying on the use of technology and production of knowledge, the others rather focus on the utilization of knowledge itself. Although these models point out the importance of managerial participation, they are mainly designed to be facilitated at operational levels. It is now obviously seen that there is a need for a new model that will deal with KM at strategic, tactic, and operational levels in an integrated manner. In this study, an enterprise knowledge management model (EKMM) is developed to facilitate this. The model is also called the “Knowledge Tower” due to its dynamics and tower-like infrastructure. EKMM does not only deal with utilizing the knowledge but also create KM strategies, knowledge culture as well as respective leveraging activities. It provides an extensive assessment capability to make sure that the KM practices are carried out as effectively as possible. This surely helps identifying the lack of implementations and areas requiring improvements.  相似文献

Existing research in intelligent manufacturing literature has highlighted the need for linking organizational culture, business strategy with Knowledge Management (KM) as well as measuring the performance of knowledge management systems for best practice. Communities of Practice (CoPs) are accepted as best practice and distinct from organizational structures while implementing KM. Besides, employing CoPs as an approach for linking business strategies with KM design, CoPs can be the prevailing way for group learning and innovation building within firms. As firms grow in size, scope, and complexity, CoPs members who regularly engage in sharing and learning based on common interests, could improve organizational performance. The purpose of this work is to design a CoPs model for KM which addresses issues related to organization culture, business strategy and performance measurement reported in earlier publications in intelligent manufacturing. A CoPs evaluation hierarchy for KM is developed. It includes four dimensions and sixteen criteria for studying and evaluating organizational culture and business strategy. Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) approach has been employed to quantitatively analyze various criteria priorities and business strategy preferences of CoPs. In order to validate the CoPs model, a case study has been undertaken in two multinational knowledge based organizations and the results are compared to differentiate strategic preferences. The contributions of this paper include: a) Definition of a CoPs model based on sixteen criteria which helps to understand an organization’s KM culture or CoPs; b) Employing these criteria to link an organization‘s KM culture with four business strategies; c) Develop a quantitative method for measuring KM performance in the context of four business strategies, and d) Validating the CoPs model through its application in two multinationals in Taiwan and Japan. The CoPs model thus can be used by organizations to understand their KM culture, allocate resources towards the chosen business strategy and measure KM performance in the context of the chosen business strategy.  相似文献

The work reported in this paper is part of a project simulating maintenance operations in an automotive engine production facility. The decisions made by the people in charge of these operations form a crucial element of this simulation. Eliciting this knowledge is problematic. One approach is to use the simulation model as part of the knowledge elicitation process.This paper reports on the experience so far with using a simulation model to support knowledge management in this way. Issues are discussed regarding the data available, the use of the model, and the elicitation process itself.  相似文献

现有的信任模型依靠聚集系统中其他实体的推荐信任信息对目标实体进行信任度量,忽略了对信任关系及交互经验信息内涵和特征的分析,加剧了分布异构环境中因实体间主客观差异性造成的信任度量偏差。提出了一种以经验为核心概念类的经验本体E-Ont,明确了信任相关经验的概念及属性,在此基础上提出一种本体信任模型ESOBTM,实现了经验信息在语义层面上的理解和解释,有效解决了服务计算环境中上下文和评价标准的差异性对信任度量的影响。仿真实验表明,相比于现有的信任模型,ESOBTM增强了动态服务计算环境下服务交互实体选择的成功率  相似文献

Adoption of knowledge management (KM) has become the emerging agenda in developing business strategies. However, due to the resources and budget constraints, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) fail to realize and recognize the potential benefits of KM, hence they are reluctant to participate in advancement and transformation of knowledge management. Moreover, SMEs are usually encountering ambiguity and uncertainty of adopting and implementing KM. This study examines the infrastructure and process capabilities of Taiwanese SMEs and conducts a comparative analysis of KM in SMEs in Hong Kong. The research results indicate that a successful KM implementation depends on a harmonious amalgamation of infrastructure and process capabilities, including technology, culture and organizational structure. This analysis may also help in understanding the government role in providing necessary assistance to the SMEs for pursing KM.  相似文献

This study analyzes the situation of enterprise knowledge management in China based on the survey and data in terms of knowledge management recognition, knowledge management stages, knowledge management applications, integration of knowledge, motivation and effect of knowledge management, and finds that the enterprise knowledge management in China is still at the initial stage, therefore it is significant to establish a general knowledge management model for China’s enterprises. Knowledge grid is a kind of knowledge sharing environment based on the World Wide Web, and its essence is the synergy and sharing of internet knowledge resource and knowledge service. KM (knowledge management) in education based on KG (knowledge grid) makes use of the grid technology and integrates the methods and tools of KM in Education to support the whole cycle of knowledge application. The aim of the paper is to discuss the use of knowledge models to formulate general applications. First, the paper presents the recent evolution of the software field where increasing attention is paid to conceptual modelling. Then, the current state of knowledge modelling techniques is described where increased reliability is available through the modern knowledge-acquisition techniques and supporting tools. The knowledge structure manager (KSM) tool is described next. First, the concept of knowledge area is introduced as a building block where methods to perform a collection of tasks are included together with the bodies of knowledge providing the basic methods to perform the basic tasks. Then, the CONCEL language to define vocabularies of domains and the LINK language for methods formulation are introduced. Finally, the object-oriented implementation of a knowledge area is described and a general methodology for application design and maintenance supported by KSM is proposed. To illustrate the concepts and methods, an example of system for intelligent traffic management in a road network is described. This example is followed by a proposal of generalization for reuse of the resulting architecture. Finally, some concluding comments are made regarding the feasibility of using the knowledge modelling tools and methods for general application design.  相似文献

This article describes how knowledge management systems can enhance the effectiveness of teams that analyze complex, non-recurring problems by improving the way that team composition evolves. Knowledge management systems reduce the costs of searching for specialized knowledge resources, making it more likely that teams will incorporate a diversity of knowledge. Drawing on the concept of requisite variety, this article argues that increases in team knowledge variety lead to improvements in the effectiveness of the solutions generated by a team, which in turn enhance their organization's adaptive ability. This process also reinforces the existing distribution of knowledge within the organization, increasing employee specialization. The author develops a series of propositions and combines them into a research model from which he draws implications for researchers and managers.  相似文献

This study develops an integrated management framework for building organizational capabilities of knowledge management. The framework consists of four major components of management: organizational knowledge, knowledge workers, knowledge management processes, and information technology. Based on the framework, this study proposes a stage model of organizational knowledge management encompassing the initiation, propagation, integration, and networking stages. Each of the four stages is differentiated in terms of its management goals, activities, and characteristics of the management components. To validate the proposed stage model, we conducted a latent content analysis of 21 knowledge management case reports. While the results do not validate the time sequence of each stage, they do reveal meaningful clustering of distinct case organizations in different knowledge management implementation stages.  相似文献

For the knowledge management of product design, knowledge innovation is the foundation and motivation for the independent innovation and enhancing the core competitiveness. Most of the product knowledge exists in the brain of designers. How to obtain the required knowledge accurately in massive knowledge database becomes the key to knowledge innovation. However, the design knowledge based on consumer’s requirement has not been extensively studied. There is no consensus on the reasonable and effective implementation of the knowledge management framework to select the optimum design knowledge based on the consumer’s requirements. In this study, to efficiently realize the knowledge acquisition and knowledge selection, a requirements-oriented knowledge management model is established, with the advantage of Kansei engineering in knowledge acquisition and multi-objective decision-making in knowledge selection. Finally, the outdoor leisure chairs design is used as a case study to explain the implementation of the knowledge management framework. To reveal the advantages of the framework, it was compared with other frameworks. The results show that the proposed knowledge management framework is more efficient and provided a method of designers to acquire design knowledge based on the consumer’s requirements.  相似文献

本体是一种非常有效的知识建模方法.以《自动控制原理》学科为例介绍了本体在构建教学领域知识库模型中的应用,并且用具有很强网络交互性的XML语言实现了该本体的描述.提出用7元属性来描述教学知识概念,并且详细叙述了每个属性的含义及其形式化的定义.这样得到的教学领域知识库本体模型将是一个语义完整、复杂但又清晰的语义网结构.  相似文献

知识管理已成为企业在信息化条件下提高竞争力的必要手段,工作流系统是支持工作流定义、执行和监控的计算机软件系统,针对工作流系统应用在企业知识管理时面临的流程数据整合不易,文件内容词汇关系的不明确与存取控制不便等问题,提出了一种基于本体的工作流知识管理系统架构,并介绍了其设计及实现机制.该系统以XML作为流程文件交换与存储格式,利用本体论的方法将不同知识领域包含的概念及关联特性整合进工作流程中,并设计了基于角色继承的授权管理机制进行精确的文件存取控制.  相似文献
