随着信息化在企业中的深入运用,传统IT架构慢慢显现出弊端:基础资源利用率偏低、管理上太分散;面对管理或业务出现变化时,旧的业务系统难以快速响应.怎样实现业务同IT建设的协同,怎样对IT系统现有数据进行利用,这些都成为当下企业立刻要解决的.“云计算”作为眼下信息领域炙手可热的技术,一方面它能对现有IT资源进行很好地整合,另一方面面对业务变化时它能实现IT建设的迅速响应,因此它的研发为解决企业的上述难题提供了希望.  相似文献

Java offers the basic infrastructure needed to integrate computers connected to the Internet into a seamless distributed computational resource: an infrastructure for running coarse-grained parallel applications on numerous, anonymous machines. First, we sketch such a resource’s essential technical properties. Then, we present a prototype of Javelin, an infrastructure for global computing. The system is based on Internet software that is interoperable, increasingly secure, and ubiquitous: Java-enabled Web technology. Ease of participation is seen as a key property for such a resource to realize the vision of a multiprocessing environment comprising thousands of computers. Javelin’s architecture and implementation require participants to have access to only a Java-enabled Web browser. Experimental results are given in the form of a Mersenne Prime application and a ray-tracing application that run on a heterogeneous network of several parallel machines, workstations, and PCs. Two key areas of current research, fault-tolerance and scalability, are subsequently explored briefly.  相似文献

Project Bayanihan is developing the idea of volunteer computing, which seeks to enable people to form very large parallel computing networks very quickly by using ubiquitous and easy-to-use technologies such as web browsers and Java. By utilizing Java’s object-oriented features, we have built a flexible software framework that makes it easy for programmers to write different volunteer computing applications, while allowing researchers to study and develop the underlying mechanisms behind them. In this paper, we show how we have used this framework to write master-worker style applications, and to develop approaches to the problems of programming interface, adaptive parallelism, fault-tolerance, computational security, scalability, and user interface design.  相似文献

Recent developments in networking infrastructures, computer workstation capabilities, software tools, and programming languages have motivated new approaches to broad-network concurrent computing. This paper describes extensions to concurrent computing which blend new and evolving technologies to extend users' access to resources beyond their local network. The result is a concurrent programming environment which can dynamically extend over network and file system boundaries to envelope additional resources, to enable multiple-user collaborative programming, and to achieve a more optimal process mapping. Additional aspects of the derivative environment feature extended portability and support for the accessing of legacy codes and packages. This paper describes the advantages of such a design and how they have been implemented in the environment termed “IceT”.  相似文献

The goal of autonomic computing is to reduce the configuration, operational, and maintenance costs of distributed applications by enabling them to self-manage, self-heal, and self-optimize. This paper provides two contributions to the Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) of autonomic computing systems using Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs). First, we describe the structure and functionality of an MDE tool that visually captures the design of EJB applications, their quality of service (QoS) requirements, and the adaptations applied to their EJBs. Second, the paper describes how MDE tools can be used to generate code to simulate adaptive systems for verification and plug EJBs into a Java component framework that provides runtime adaptation capabilities.  相似文献

There has been an increasing research interest in extending the use of Java towards high‐performance demanding applications such as scalable Web servers, distributed multimedia applications, and large‐scale scientific applications. However, extending Java to a multicomputer environment and improving the low performance of current Java implementations pose great challenges to both the systems developer and application designer. In this survey, we describe and classify 14 relevant proposals and environments that tackle Java's performance bottlenecks in order to make the language an effective option for high‐performance network‐based computing. We further survey significant performance issues while exposing the potential benefits and limitations of current solutions in such a way that a framework for future research efforts can be established. Most of the proposed solutions can be classified according to some combination of three basic parameters: the model adopted for inter‐process communication, language extensions, and the implementation strategy. In addition, where appropriate to each individual proposal, we examine other relevant issues, such as interoperability, portability, and garbage collection. Java RMI, Jini and CORBA provide effective mechanisms for implementing a distributed computing system. Recently many numeral libraries have been developed that take advantage of Java as an object‐oriented and portable language. The widely‐used client‐server method limits the extent to which the benefits of the object‐oriented approach can be exploited because of the difficulties arising when a remote object is the argument or return value of a remote or local method. In this paper this problem is solved by introducing a data object that stores the data structure of the remote object and related access methods. By using this data object, the client can easily instantiate a remote object, and use it as the argument or return value of either a local or remote method. In this paper we present a dynamic, country level methodology and model to determine the energy related Green House Gas (GHG) emissions abatement potential of enterprise cloud computing. The developed model focused upon demonstrating the impact of a move to cloud computing from traditional on-site computing, by creating country specific estimates of energy and GHG reductions. The methodology presented includes variables for market penetration, organisation size, and organisational adoption of on-site and cloud computing. Using the current enterprise cloud service applications of email, customer relationship management (CRM), and groupware against selected global countries, results indicated that 4.5 million tonnes of CO2e could be reduced with an 80% market penetration for cloud computing. The majority of reductions were calculated to be from small and medium size organisations. A sensitivity analysis of the market penetration and current organisational adoption of cloud computing highlights the possible large variability in overall energy and GHG reductions. An analysis of the model and data used within this study illustrates a requirement for industry and academia to work closely in order to reach the large energy reductions possible with enterprise cloud computing.  相似文献

文中在分析Java虚拟机及字节码特性基础上,研究了Java处理器中的指令合并技术。对3种合并策略:2条指令的合并,3条指令的合并及4条指令的合并进行了分析比较,并分别实现了这3种合并策略。研究表明4条指令合并策略具有较高的性能/开销比。  相似文献

Virtualization is a key technology to enable cloud computing. Driver domain based model for network virtualization offers isolation and high levels of flexibility. However, it suffers from poor performance and lacks scalability. In this paper, we evaluate networking performance of virtual machines within Xen. The I/O channel transferring packets between the driver domain and the virtual machines is shown to be the bottleneck. To overcome this limitation, we proposed a packet aggregation based mechanism to transfer packets from the driver domain to the virtual machines. Packet aggregation, combined with an efficient core allocation, allows virtual machines throughput to scale up by 700%, while minimizing both memory and CPU consumption. Besides, aggregation impact on packets delay and jitter remains acceptable. Hence, the proposed I/O virtualization model satisfies infrastructure providers to offer Cloud computing services.  相似文献

Enterprises are rather complex systems which have to be managed for their internal affairs, but more importantly for the many relations to the different environments in which they are operating. Today, these environments are changing much more rapidly and the need for relevant information becomes of paramount importance in the decision making processes at all levels of enterprise management. Fluctuations in market demands, technology evolution and changing regulations require very flexible enterprise operations, capable of reacting to those changes. These reactions must be based on relevant and up-to-date information which must be supported by new decision support technology. The challenges in decision support concern the identification of relevant information, easy access and intelligent use of this information. Building and maintaining the enterprise knowledge base and enabling its efficient use for decision support are major tasks of enterprise engineering. Enterprise integration and its subsequent operation in the global environment of customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies will heavily depend on the availability and the continuous extension of this knowledge base. Enterprise modelling will play an important role in creating the knowledge base and in using it for enterprise integration and operational decision support. The paper discusses enterprise engineering as an enterprise life-cycle oriented discipline for identification, design, and implementation of enterprises and their continuous evolution.
