提出了开放的四能级双驱动场无反转激光系统的理论模型,由电偶极和旋转波近似得到其密度矩阵方程,在共振条件下,讨论无反转激光产生的物理机制,求得定态共振线性解析解,利用数值计算结果分析了能级间的自发衰减速率、非相干泵浦速率、粒子注入速率和粒子退出速率对系统无反转激光增益和粒子数差的影响,讨论了线性和非线性增益和粒子数差的差别.结果表明:适当的自发衰减速率、调节非相干泵浦速率、粒子注入速率和粒子退出速率可获得无粒子数反转激光;线性和非线性的增益和粒子数差随驱动场Rabi频率的变化趋势一样,增益的线性稳定值大于非线性稳定值.  相似文献

In this paper we study the influence of the relative phase between the probe and driving fields on propagation effect in an open Doppler broadening V-type three-level atomic system with spontaneously generated coherence(SGC) by using the calculation result of the density matrix motion equations and the propagation equations of the driving and probe fields.It is shown that the relative phase(Φ) has remarkable periodical influence on the propagation effect,and the period is 2π.By selecting appropriate value of Φ,we can get larger lasing without in version(LWI) gain and longer propagation distance in which gain exists,and hence obtain higher probe field(i.e.LWI) intensity.When Φ=π/2,the largest LWI gain and probe field intensity can be got.In addition,the atomic exit rate(γ0) and ratio(S) of the atomic injection rates also have a considerable modulation role on the phase-dependent propagation effect.In certain value range of γ0(S),LWI gain and probe field intensity increase with γ0(S) increasing.In the open system,LWI gain and probe field intensity much larger than those in the corresponding closed system can be obtained.  相似文献

In this paper,we study the effect of spontaneously generated coherence(SGC) on transient evolution of gain without inversion(GWI) in a Doppler broadened quasi Λ-type four-level atomic system.It is shown that transient evolution of GWI is very sensitive to the variation of SGC strength,and the transient maximum value and steady value of GWI both increase with SGC strength increasing.The transient and steady values of GWI with SGC are much larger than those without SGC.When Doppler broadening is present,the transient maximum value and steady value of GWI first increase and then decrease with Doppler broadening width(D) increasing,and the value of D which corresponds to the maximum transient GWI is different from that corresponding to the maximum steady GWI.The time needed for reaching the steady GWI increases with D increasing.The steady GWI,which is larger than that without Doppler broadening(D = 0),can be obtained by choosing appropriate D and SGC strength.  相似文献

在考虑Doppler效应下,通过理论分析和数值模拟研究了传播效应对开放四能级系统中的无反转激光特性的影响.研究发现:探测场和驱动场同向传输对系统获得无反转激光更为有利,要想提高探测激光的增益不仅要选取合适的入口处驱动场Rabi频率值,而且选取适当的驱动场和探测场初始失谐值对于提高激光增益也极为关键;随传播距离的增大,探测场上下能级粒子数一直满足无反转,而探测场上能级和驱动场上能级间的粒子数随传播距离的增大发生了Raman反转.  相似文献

Distributed fiber Raman amplifier (DFRA) with incoherent pumping is investigated and its performance is compared to that with the conventional coherent pumping. It is shown that increasing the spectral bandwidth of incoherent pumping source can reduce the Raman gain ripple significantly, and degrade noise figure slightly at short wavelengths, compared to coherent pumping. To achieve the same gain flatness, the number of pumps for broad-band DFRAs with incoherent pumping can be significantly reduced compared to the coherent pumping.  相似文献

It is shown that in an open Λ-type system with spontaneously generated coherence, the transient evolution rule of the gain of lasing without inversion (LWI) is very sensitive to variation of the relative phase φ between the probe and driving fields; the variety of the atomic exit rateγ_0 and the ratio C of the atomic injection rates also have a considerable effect on the phase-dependent transient evolution rule of LWI gain. We find that whenφ=0, the transient and stationary LWI gain increases with C increasing but decreases with γ_0 increasing; whenφ≠0 , the effect of C andγ_0 on LWI gain is just opposite to that when φ=0 ; in order to get the largest transient and stationary LWI gain, we need selecting suitable values of φ,γ_0 and C.  相似文献

对开放的V型三能级系统,通过微分方程的数值运算,分析了该系统的无粒子数反转激光(laser without inversion, LWI)产生的机制,讨论了探测场和驱动场的失谐、驱动场的Rabi频率、粒子初始状态对系统LWI时间演化的影响.结果显示:驱动场耦合的两个能级上的粒子数分布以相同的频率振荡,位相差π;在探测场和驱动场皆共振(⊿=⊿<,o>=0)时,原子对探测场色散的响应为零,双光子相干项ρca是实量;驱动场的Rabi频率Ω增大时,增益、相干项和粒子数差的振荡周期减小;粒子数的初始状态主要影响增益、相干项和粒子数差的振荡幅度,并不影响最后的稳定状态.  相似文献

用蒙特卡罗方法仿真了增益随机散射体中的非相干辐射,观察了非相干随机激光的特性。当抽运能量超过一定阈值时,散射体的整体辐射谱突然变窄;随着抽运能量继续增大,在光滑谱背景上会出现分离尖峰;散射体内空间某位置处频率组成不是单一的;辐射谱中某单个频率的空间方向分布和位置分布比较广。增益随机散射体中产生的非相干随机激光本质上既不同于无反馈的普通放大自发辐射,又不同于相干反馈形成的常规激光。解释了非相干随机激光辐射谱上出现分离尖峰的原因,出现这种现象是由于少数光子在增益散射体中经历较多次数散射后得到了相对充分的放大。  相似文献

Incoherent radiation of amplifying random media was investigated using Monte Carlo simulation and the characteristics of random laser were observed The entire emission spectra of the random media would become narrow abruptly when pumping energies exceeded certain threshold values, and as the pumping energies further increased, distinct sharp peaks would emerge on the spectrum background. The intensity of a certain spatial point within the scattering media was contributed from emissions of many frequencies. The intensity of a single frequency of the entire spectrum was contributed with emissions from wide spatial location and angle ranges. It has been pointed out that the incoherent radiation of amplifying random media is essentially different from amplified spontaneous emission without any feedback as well as conventional resonant-feedback laser. The explanation on distinct sharp peaks is that rare photons have experienced rather more scattering events and walked longer paths in amplifying random media, which accumulates more gain for these photons.  相似文献

Signal gain and noise figure in a bi-directional pumping configuration are investigated in the unsaturated and saturated region. Balanced and asymmetric bi-directional pumping configurations are effective in the unsaturated and saturated region, respectively. Especially, an asymmetric bi-directional pumping configuration with larger backward pump power than forward pump power increases the pump to signal conversion efficiency in the saturated region. A long-wavelength-band erbium-doped fiber amplifier (L-band EDFA) using a pump wavelength source of 1540-nm band has been extensively investigated from a small single channel input signal to high-power wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) signals. The small-signal gain coefficient of 1545-nm pumping among the 1540-nm band is 2.25 times higher compared to the conventional 1480-nm pumping. This improvement in gain coefficient is not limited by the pumping direction. The cause for this high coefficient is explained by analyzing forward- and backward-amplified spontaneous emission spectra. The gain spectra as a function of a pump wavelength suggest that a broadband pump source as well as a single wavelength pump can be used as a 1540-nm-band pump. In the experiment for high-power WDM signals, the power conversion efficiency for 256 WDM channel input is 48.5% with 1545-nm pumping. This result shows more than 20% improvement compared with the previous highest value for the L-band EDFA. Finally, the 1545-nm bidirectionally pumped EDFA is applied as a second stage amplifier in an in-line amplifier of an optical communication link with a 1480-nm pumped first stage EDFA, in which the input power of the second-stage EDFA is +2.2 dBm. The power conversion efficiency yields a 38% improvement without noise figure degradation compared with the case of 1480-nm pumping.  相似文献
