In this paper the effect of the vanadium oxide loading on the surface vanadia structure and the activity as well as selectivity in the catalytic reduction of NO with NH3 was studied for a V2O5/TiO2 model system. A series of TiO2 (WO x stabilized anatase) supported vanadia catalysts with varying loadings were characterized by laser Raman spectroscopy, 51V MAS-NMR, V K XANES. To determine the acidic properties, DRIFTS measurements were done with pyridine adsorbed on the samples. The measurements indicate that with increasing active phase loading square pyramidal coordinated surface vanadia species are replaced by an amorphous highly dispersed vanadium oxide phase with a coordination like V2O5. In addition, the ratio of Brønsted to Lewis acid sites is shifted from a comparatively low to an equal level at high loadings. This structural change is accompanied by a clearly improved catalytic activity and selectivity.  相似文献

Pt/ZrO2 catalysts for the water–gas shift (WGS) were promoted with various amounts of vanadia. Analyses by XRD, N2 adsorption, Raman, and UV–vis DRS showed that vanadia is present below monolayer coverage as monovanadate and polyvanadate, with the former dominating at lower loadings, and that following monolayer formation, VO5 species appear, with the eventual generation of V2O5 and ZrV2O7 for a vanadia weight loading of 13%. Though in all cases vanadia induced an enhancement in WGS activity, the best catalyst, that contained 3 wt.% of vanadia, gave a rate that was nearly double that of the unpromoted Pt/ZrO2. That superior global activity probably results from the monovanadate that is the main species at low loadings. It is believed that monovanadate promotes the WGS by rendering the support's surface more oxidizing through its VOZr bonds.  相似文献

A series of V2O5-TiO2 aerogel catalysts were prepared by the sol-gel method with subsequent supercritical drying with CO2. The main variables in the sol-gel method were the amounts of V2O5 and when the vanadium precursor was introduced. V2O5-TiO2 xerogel and V2O5/TiO2 (P-25) were also prepared for comparison. The V2O5-TiO2 aerogel catalysts showed much higher surface areas and total pore volumes than V2O5-TiO2 xerogel and impregnated V2O5/TiO2 (P-25) catalysts. The catalysts were characterized by N2 physisorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-Raman spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction with H2 (H2-TPR), and temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD). The selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia in the presence of excess O2 was studied over these catalysts. Among various V2O5-TiO2 catalysts, V2O5 supported on aerogel TiO2 showed a wide temperature window exhibiting high NOx conversions. This superior catalytic activity is closely related to the large amounts of strong acidic sites as well as the surface vanadium species with characteristics such as easy reducibility and monomeric and polymeric vanadia surface species. Vanadium oxide supported on mesoporous zirconium phosphate catalysts has been synthesized, characterized and tested in the selective oxidation of H2S to sulfur. The nature of the vanadium species depends on the V-loading of catalyst. Catalysts with a V-content lower than 4wt% present both isolated vanadium species and V2O5 crystallites. However, V2O5 crystallites have been mainly observed in catalysts with higher V-content, although the presence of isolated V-species on the surface of the metal oxide support cannot be completely ruled out. The catalytic behaviour also depends on V-loading of catalysts. Thus, while the catalytic activity of catalysts can be related to the number of V-sites, the catalyst decay is clearly observed in samples with low V-loading. The characterization of catalysts after the catalytic tests indicates the presence of sulfur on the catalyst, which is favoured on catalysts with low V-loading. However, a clear transformation of V2O5 to V4O9 can be proposed according to XRD and Raman results of used catalysts with high V-loading. The importance of V5+–O–V4+ pairs in activity and selectivity is also discussed.  相似文献

The V/MgO catalysts with different V2O5 loadings were prepared by impregnating MgO with aqueous vanadyl sulfate solution. All of the catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It was observed that the H2S removal capacity with respect to vanadia content increased up to 6 wt%, and then decreased with further increase in vanadia loading. The prepared catalysts had BET surface areas of 11.3 ~ 95.9 m2/g and surface coverages of V2O5 of 0.1 ~ 2.97. The surface coverage calculation of V2O5 suggested that a vanadia addition up to a monomolecular layer on MgO support increased the H2S removal capacity of V/MgO, but the further increase of VO x surface coverage rather decreased that. Raman spectroscopy showed that the small domains of Mg3(VO4)2 could be present on V/MgO with less than 6 wt% vanadia loading. The crystallites of bulk Mg3(VO4)2 and Mg2(V2O7) became evident on V/MgO catalysts with vanadia loading above 15 wt%, which were confirmed by a XRD. The TPR experiments showed that V/MgO catalysts with the loading below 6 wt% V2O5 were more reducible than those above 15 wt% V2O5. It indicated that tetrahedrally coordinated V5+ in well-dispersed Mg3(VO4)2 domains could be the active species in the H2S wet oxidation. The XPS studies indicated that the H2S oxidation with V/MgO could proceed from the redox mechanism (V5+ V4+) and that V3+ formation, deep reduction, was responsible for the deactivation of V/MgO.  相似文献

Three model catalysts (Pt/Al2O3, Pt/TiO2, Pt/V2O5/TiO2) were examined in regard to their NO2 formation ability under a changing lean gas composition. The results show that the NO to NO2 oxidation function as well as the NO x reduction under lean gas conditions is affected by a change in the lean gas atmosphere. The NO oxidation activity also decreased with time, for Pt/Al2O3 and Pt/TiO2, and a possible explanation may be platinum oxide formation. This deactivation was not observed for Pt/V2O5/TiO2.  相似文献

The oxidation of n-butane to maleic anhydride was investigated over model Nb‐, Si‐, Ti‐, V‐, and Zr‐promoted bulk VPO and supported vanadia catalysts. The promoters were concentrated in the surface region of the bulk VPO catalysts. For the supported vanadia catalysts, the vanadia phase was present as a two‐dimensional metal oxide overlayer on the different oxide supports (TiO2, ZrO2, Nb2O5, Al2O3, and SiO2). No correlation was found between the electronegativity of the promoter or oxide support cation and the catalytic properties of these two catalytic systems. The maleic anhydride selectivity correlated with the Lewis acidity of the promoter cations and oxide supports. Both promoted bulk VPO and supported vanadia catalysts containing surface niobia species were the most active and selective to maleic anhydride. These findings suggest that the activation of n-butane on both the bulk and supported vanadia catalysts probably requires both surface redox and acid sites, and that the acidity also plays an important role in controlling further kinetic steps of n-butane oxidation. The present study was undertaken to investigate the influence of ceria on the physicochemical and catalytic properties of V2O5/TiO2–ZrO2 for oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene utilizing CO2 as a soft oxidant. Monolayer equivalents of ceria, vanadia and ceria–vanadia combination over TiO2–ZrO2 (TZ) support were impregnated by a coprecipitation and wet impregnation methods. Synthesized catalysts were characterized by using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature programmed reduction, transmission electron microscopy and BET surface area methods. The XRD profiles of 550 °C calcined samples revealed amorphous nature of the materials. Upon increasing calcination temperature to 750 °C, in addition to ZrTiO4 peaks, few other lines due to ZrV2O7 and CeVO4 were observed. The XPS V 2p results revealed the existence of V4+ and V5+ species at 550 and 750 °C calcinations temperatures, respectively. TEM analysis suggested the presence of nanosized (<7 nm) particles with narrow range distribution. Raman measurements confirmed the formation ZrTiO4 under high temperature treatments. TPR measurements suggested a facile reduction of CeO2–V2O5/TZ sample. Among various samples evaluated, the CeO2–V2O5/TZ sample exhibited highest conversion and nearly 100% product selectivity. In particular, the addition of ceria to V2O5/TZ suppressed the coke deposition and allowed a stable and high catalytic activity.  相似文献

Carbon-coated catalysts doped with tungsten and vanadia oxides with different V and W loadings have been prepared by the ionic exchange method and characterized. The surface, structure and composition have been investigated by XPS, Raman, N2 sorption at 77 K, TPD-NH3 and reactivity tests for the SCR of NO with NH3 at low temperatures. Under reaction conditions, NO conversions were found to go through a maximum with vanadia surface coverage at approximately half a monolayer. The observed decrease in the SCR activity at higher vanadia loadings can be attributed to either a loss of dispersion or loss of textural properties. Maximum NO conversion is ascribed to the higher Brönsted proton acidity (V4+) of the centres that decreases with increasing vanadia loadings up to 3 wt% loading due to the increase of V4+/V5+ ratio.Large amounts of tungsten (5%, w/w) upon or before addition of vanadia do not provide an enhancement of activity. The results indicate that W addition increases surface acidity leading to stronger Brönsted or even Lewis acid centre creation.  相似文献

V2O5/MgF2 catalysts with V2O5 contents ranging from 2.1 to 15.7 wt% were prepared, and the influence of the V2O5 content of the V2O5/MgF2 catalyst on the structure and activity for the ammoxidation of 3-picoline was investigated. XRD data indicate that V2O5 is in a highly dispersed state though segregation of V2O5 into tiny crystallites occurs at and above 8 wt% V2O5. The 3-picoline ammoxidation activity increased with an increase in V2O5 content due not only to the species arising out of interaction of V2O5 and MgF2, but also to the presence of V2O5 microcrystals in the catalysts.  相似文献

MoO3–V2O5/Al2O3 catalysts were characterized by B.E.T., XRD, LRS, XPS and TPR and the effect of MoO3 addition to alumina supported vanadia catalysts on the catalytic activity for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by ammonia was investigated. Upon the addition of MoO3, catalytic activity was enhanced and the particle size of V2O5 which is shown by the results of B.E.T., XRD and Raman spectroscopy decreased. This was one reason for increased catalytic activity. The results obtained by XPS and TPR showed that MoO3 addition to alumina supported vanadia catalysts increased the reducibility of vanadia and this was the another reason for synergy effect between MoO3 and V2O5 in MoO3–V2O5/Al2O3 catalysts.  相似文献

Precipitated silica catalysts loaded with either MoO3 (0.2–4.0 wt%) or V2O5 (0.2–5.3 wt%) have been studied in the selective partial oxidation of methane to formaldehyde with molecular oxygen at 520 °C. The functionality of the SiO2 surface towards the formation of HCHO is significantly promoted by V2O5, while it is depressed by the MoO3.  相似文献

A number of supported metal oxide catalysts were screened for their catalytic performance for the oxidation of carbon black (CB; a model diesel soot) using NO2 as the main oxidant. It was found that contact between the carbon and catalyst was a key factor in determining the rate of oxidation by NO2. Oxides with low melting points, such as Re2O7, MoO3 and V2O5 showed higher activities than did Fe3O4 and Co3O4. The activities of MoO3 and V2O5 on various supporting materials were also examined. MoO3/SiO2 was the most active catalyst among the supported MoO3 examined, whereas, V2O5/MCM-41 showed the highest activity among the supported V2O5. Different performances of the supported MoO3 catalysts were explained by the interaction of MoO3 with the supports: a strong MoO3/support interaction may result in a poor mobility of MoO3 and a poor activity for oxidation of carbon by NO2. The high activity of V2O5/MCM-41 was associated with its catalysis of the oxidation of SO2 by NO2 to form SO3, which substantially promotes oxidation of carbon by NO2. Addition of transition metal oxides or sulfates to supported MoO3 and V2O5 was also investigated. Combining MoO3 or V2O5 with CuO on SiO2, adding VOSO4 to MoO3/SiO2 or MoO3/Al2O3 and adding TiOSO4 or CuSO4 to V2O5/Al2O3 improved the catalytic performance.  相似文献

Vanadium oxide supported on zirconia modified with WO3 was prepared by adding Zr(OH)4 powder into a mixed aqueous solution of ammonium metavanadate and ammonium metatungstate followed by drying and calcining at high temperatures. The characterization of prepared catalysts was performed by using FTIR, Raman, and XRD. In the case of calcination temperature at 773 K, for samples containing low loading V2O5 below 18 wt%, vanadium oxide was in a highly dispersed state, while for samples containing high loading V2O5 equal to or above 18 wt%, vanadium oxide was well crystallized due to the high V2O5 loading on the surface of ZrO2. The ZrV2O7 compound was formed through the reaction of V2O5 and ZrO2 at 873 K, and the compound decomposed into V2O5 and ZrO2 at 1,073 K, these results were confirmed by FTIR and XRD. Catalytic tests for 2-propanol dehydration and cumene dealkylation have shown that the addition of WO3 to V2O5/ZrO2 enhanced both catalytic activity and acidity of V2O5-WO3/ZrO2 catalysts. The variations in catalytic activities for both reactions are roughly correlated with the changes of acidity.  相似文献

The catalytic behavior of a series of VOx/α-Al2O3 catalysts for the partial oxidation of methane has been evaluated. Samples with different vanadia loading were prepared from NH4VO3 and V(AcAc)3. Characterization performed by TPR and oxygen uptake measurements indicates that different VOx species are present on the samples. The catalytic patterns indicate that each V-surface species possesses different activity and selectivity. Isolated vanadates are the most active and selective towards HCHO, while V2O5 crystallites are detrimental to the catalytic performance.  相似文献

The influence of heat treatments on the dispersion and thermal stability of series of titania-silica mixed oxide supported vanadia catalysts has been investigated by X-ray diffraction, infrared, oxygen chemisorption and surface-area measurements. The results of V2O5/TiO2-SiO2 catalysts calcined at 773 K suggest that vanadia (upto 20 wt%) is in highly dispersed state on the carrier. Thermal treatments at 873 K and above transform vanadia and titania into crystalline phases and then TiO2 anatase into rutile. In the absence of vanadia the TiO2-SiO2 remains unaffected by thermal treatments.IICT Communication No. 3176.  相似文献

Kinetic parameters are estimated for a sequential Mars van Krevelan (MVK) reaction model occurring over several supported vanadium oxide (vanadia) catalysts involved in the propane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) reaction. The estimated kinetic parameters, pre-exponential factors and activation energies, are used to understand the effect of vanadia loading and oxide support. The pre-exponential factors and vanadia normalized pre-exponential factors vary with vanadia loading and oxide support. The monotonic increase in normalized pre-exponential factors with vanadia loading and the variation of pre-exponential factors with oxide support appears to be related to the change in acidity/basicity of the catalyst and the redox nature of the catalyst, respectively. The activation energy for propene degradation does not significantly change with catalyst; however, the activation energy for propane oxidation is different for the V2O5/Al2O3 catalyst. It appears that two important considerations are required for the development of an efficient propane ODH catalyst: a high rate constant associated with the propane oxidation reaction, and a high ratio of the rate constant for propene formation to degradation reaction. Based on the observations in the present study it is proposed that a higher TiO2 support surface area will assist in increasing the propane oxidation activity and propene yield.  相似文献

The effect of magnesia loading and preparation procedure of vanadia on titania catalysts on the physicochemical characteristics and the performance in propane oxidative dehydrogenation were investigated. A series of magnesia promoted vanadia catalyst (5 wt% V2O5) with varying amounts of MgO (1.9--10 wt%) were synthesized by synchronous and sequential deposition on titania support. The catalysts were characterized using several techniques (BET, XRD, H2-TPR and NH3)-TPD). Both MgO loading and preparation procedure affect the catalyst surface properties and the behavior in the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane. Magnesia addition results in drastic increase in propene selectivity, while the effect on activity is negative. The activity is inversely related with the magnesia loading. Deposition of V2O5 on previously prepared MgO/TiO2 presents a beneficial effect in the activity of the sample. The role of acidity and reducibility is explored. There is no correlation between reducibility and activity of the catalysts, whereas the acidity seems to influence the catalytic performance. Catalyst containing 5 wt% V2O5 and 1.9 wt% MgO prepared by sequential deposition of V2O5 on already doped with MgO titania exhibits the most interesting results.  相似文献

We investigated the selective oxidation of hydrogen sulfide to elemental sulfur and ammonium thiosulfate by using Bi4V2-xSbxO11-y catalysts. The catalysts were prepared by the calcination of a homogeneous mixture of Bi2O3, V2O5, and Sb2O3 obtained by ball-milling adequate amounts of the three oxides. The main phases detected by XRD analysis were Bi4V2O11, Bi1.33V2O6, BiSbO4 and BiVO4. They showed good H2S conversion with less than 2% of SO2 selectivity with a feed composition of H2S/O2/NH3/H2O/He=5/2.5/5/60/27.5 and GHSV=12,000 h-1 in the temperature ranges of 220–260 ‡C. The highest H2S conversion was obtained for x=0.2 in Bi4V2-xSbxO11-y catalyst. TPR/TPO results showed that this catalyst had the highest amount of oxygen consumption. XPS analysis before and after reaction confirmed the least reduction of vanadium oxide phase for this catalyst during the reaction. It means that the catalyst with x=0.2 had the highest reoxidation capacity among the Bi4V2-xSbxO11-y catalysts.  相似文献

The hydrogenation of CO over a RhVO4/SiO2 catalyst has been investigated after H2 reduction at 773 K. A strong metal–oxide interaction (SMOI) induced by the decomposition of RhVO4 in H2 enhanced not only the selectivity to C2 oxygenates but also the CO conversion drastically, compared with an unpromoted Rh/SiO2 catalyst. The selectivity of the RhVO4/SiO2 catalyst was similar to those of conventional V2O5‐promoted Rh/SiO2 catalysts (V2O5–Rh/SiO2), but the CO dissociation activity (and TOF) was much higher than for V2O5–Rh/SiO2, and hence the yield of C2 oxygenates was increased.
