An experimental investigation was conducted of slot‐rectangular spouted beds with air entry slots spanning the full thickness of the column and vertical draft plates intended to help control the solids circulation rate. With increasing superficial gas velocity, the flow between the draft plates changed from bubbling to slugging and then to spouting with dilute pneumatic between the plates and moving‐bed downward motion on both sides. However, there was difficulty maintaining stability and symmetrical flow on the two sides. Once spouting is established, pressure drops and local voidages vary with gas velocity, particle size and gas entry size in broadly similar manners as for conventional spouted beds  相似文献

带导流管的二维喷动床(2-DSBDP)是传统喷动床的改进型式,矩形床内设置的与床同厚的垂直导流管可以控制固体颗粒的循环速率, 同时使下行区中的气固移动床维持平推流. 本文实验测定了不同表观气速、床层高度、固体颗粒与气体入口尺寸时, 二维导流管喷动床的床压降及相应的空隙率,藉以阐述2-DSBDP的流动特征.  相似文献

在双喷嘴矩形喷动床内,以空气为喷动气体,研究了最小喷动速度的变化规律和影响因素。实验表明,双喷嘴矩形喷动床的最小喷动速度与颗粒粒径、床层高度及操作温度有关。并在综合考虑床层高度以及气体和固体颗粒的物性的基础上,得出了双喷嘴矩形喷动床最小喷动时雷诺数的经验关联式。  相似文献

A brief review of Brazilian research on drying process in spouted beds shows its relevance and evolution trends. Needs for applying this technique to dry pasty materials are discussed, focusing on a new model approach in order to overcome operational problems with particle agglomeration and with thermal efficiency. Based on this approach, two cases, drying of black liquor in a conical spouted bed of inert polypropylene particles under intermittent operation and drying of egg emulsion in a conical spouted bed of inert glass beads under continuous operation, are presented and analyzed.  相似文献

The effect of some design parameters on the expansion of particles has been studied in a fluidized bed of 300 mm diameter. Four distributors were examined; three perforated plates, each perforated by holes of 0.8 mm in diameter but different hole densities at 6 mm, 9 mm and 12 mm pitch, and a porous plastic distributor 17 mm thick. Particles of different materials in the Archimedes number range from 100 to 105 were fluidized. The inserts were held vertically as arrays. All experimental data for four distributors were correlated within experimental error by the equation: whereU, Umf, U0 are the gas velocity, velocity at minimum fluidization and real or apparent terminal velocity, while e is the bed porosity and emf is the porosity at the condition of minimum fluidization. P is the hole pitch of perforated plate distributor in millimeters.  相似文献

A multilayer perceptron with back‐propagation learning algorithm is developed to predict the minimum spouting velocity (ums) in draft tube conical spouted beds. Six dimensionless variables involving ten essential geometric and operating parameters of the beds were taken as model inputs. To compare the model results with both experimental data and those predicted by the limited existing empirical equations, the root mean square error and the mean relative error are utilized. Although there is a complex relationship between the input variables and ums, and despite the huge number of data available, the steps of training and testing show good agreement with the corresponding experimental values. This demonstrates that an artificial neural network is a useful approach to predict ums, especially when the relationship between the geometric and operating parameters and ums is complex and difficult to define.  相似文献

A novel design of a multi‐staged, continuous flow spouted bed, suitable for counter‐current, cross‐current, and fed‐batch gas‐solid contacting is developed. Single and three‐stage conter‐flow units are studied, the residence time distributions (RTD's) of the solids therein are measured and two compartmental models are developed to fit this family of RTD's. The first (two‐parameter) model is satisfactory for the single stage units, and three‐stage units at high gas flow rates. The second (three‐parameter) model describes each stage as two CSTVs in parallel with a PFV in series. It provides better agreement with experimental data in the three‐stage case.  相似文献

In this study, grain drying in a spherical-based spouted bed (SBSB), a cone-based spouted bed (CBSB), and a paraboloid-based spouted bed (PBSB) with and without draft tube was investigated. Spouted-bed bases with the same volume in different shapes—spherical, cone, and paraboloid—were used for the drying experiments to investigate the effect of the spouted-bed base shape on drying. The drying experiments were carried out with perforated and solid draft tubes. The effects of the distance between the gas inlet nozzle and the bottom of the draft tube (entrainment zone height) and the draft tube diameter as geometric parameters on drying were also investigated. It was seen that the geometrical shape of the contactor base influenced the drying time. The highest drying rate was achieved for drying in a paraboloid-based spouted bed. The results also showed that using a draft tube caused a significant increase in drying time. Because the perforated draft tube allows a higher gas flow rate through the annulus, it decreases the drying time when compared with the solid draft tube. Drying time decreased slightly with the decreasing height of the entrainment zone but draft tube diameter did not have a considerable effect on drying.  相似文献

Pressure fluctuation data recorded in slot‐rectangular spouted beds of 1.44 mm diameter glass beads were analyzed with the aid of statistical and chaotic tools. The column width was maintained at 150 mm, while the thickness and slot width were both varied. It is shown that there are significant shifts in both statistical and chaos measures as the gas flow rate is increased. The results suggest that pressure fluctuations can be used to provide diagnostics of flow regime transitions in spouted beds when viewing is impossible.  相似文献

Further increasing the production of processed biofuel also increases the demands on drying capacity. With the aim of increasing the heat capacity flow, experimental tests have been performed on the process of drying sawdust in a continuous spouted bed dryer with nine different draft tube designs. The results showed that a draft tube with an increased length and an increased disengagement height decreased the dry substances’ flow rate throughout the dryer. The results also showed that the mass of the material in the dryer was approximately the same in all the tests. This means that the draft tubes, no matter their size, do not influence the amount of material in the dryer.  相似文献

The flow behavior of gas and ultrafine powder in a spouted bed was numerically investigated by using a two‐fluid model coupled with a population balance equation (PBE). The aggregation process is controlled by the PBE, which is solved by the direct quadrature method of moments. The agglomerate diameter is calculated according to the change in particle number. The solid pressure and viscosity were modified for agglomerates on the basis of the kinetic theory of granular flow. Distributions of diameter, solids volume fraction, and velocity are obtained by the new model. The influence of cohesive intensity and gas velocity on the diameter distribution were analyzed. The spout diameter, a vital parameter for the design of spouted beds, was calculated and a calculation formula is proposed.  相似文献

A series of vacuum fluidized bed drying experiments was carried out employing particles with distinct effective porosities. The experiments showed that decreasing the operating pressure as well as increasing the operating temperature produces higher drying rates in both drying periods. In all cases, the enhancement of the drying rates was found to be more significant in the case of particles with higher effective porosities. It is concluded that lower operating pressures as well as higher operating temperatures help to reduce the formation of air pockets in the pores and postpone the onset of the pendular state, enhancing the capillary action and the drying rates.  相似文献

Abstract

A conical spouted bed (CSB) was employed to obtain the drying and fluid dynamics data in the presence of egg paste and glycerol for a range of operating conditions. In this case, egg paste was added continuously into the bed at several feed rates, whereas glycerol was fed in batch process. Under these conditions, minimum spouting velocity, pressure drop, fountain height, paste concentration, and film moisture content were evaluated. The results showed that ΔPs and Ums decreases with increasing glycerol concentration; however, Ums presented an opposite behavior for egg paste. Fountain height increases with increasing glycerol into the bed. Film moisture content and homogenized egg paste concentration were maintained uniformly scattered at all points of the bed.
