FSW and TIG were conducted on 316L stainless steel.Variation during microstructure and properties in joints obtained by different welding methods was studied.The results show that the effect of severe mechanical stirring and intense plastic deformation creat a fine recrystallized grain in the welding joint during FSW.As for TIG,the temperature of welding joint exceeds the melting point of welded material itself.The entire welding process belongs to the solidification of a small molten pool;and the microstructure of the joint takes on a typical casting structure.When the welding parameters were selected appropriately,the average ultimate tensile strength of FSW joints can reach 493 MPa,which is 83.6%of base metal;the average elongation is 52.1%of base metal.The average ultimate tensile strength of TIG joints is 475 MPa, which is 80.5%of base metal;the average elongation is 40.8%of base metal.The tensile test of FSW joints is superior to the TIG joints.The microhardness of FSW joint compared to base metal and TIG joint having a significant improvement,which arel95.5 HV,159.7 HV and 160.7 HV,respectively;grain refinement strengthening plays an important role in enhancing the microhardness.The electrochemical corrosion tests show that the joint of FSW 316L austenitic stainless steel has a good corrosion resistance.  相似文献

The AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet added with 0.5 wt.% Ce was welded with friction stir welding(FSW).The microstructures and mechanical properties of the welded joint were investigated.The results showed that the microstructures in the weld nugget zone were uniform and with small equiaxed grains.The grains in the heat-affected zone and the thermo-mechanical affected zone were coarser than those in the base metal zone and the weld nugget zone.The ultimate tensile strength of AZ31B magnesium alloy added with 0.5...  相似文献

The present work describes the effect of welding parameters on the tensile properties and fatigue behaviour of 2014-T6 aluminum alloy joints produced by friction stir welding (FSW). Characterization of the samples has been carried out by means of microstructure, microhardness, tensile properties and fatigue behaviors. The hardness in the softened weld region decreases with decreasing the welding speed. Irrespective of the tool rotation speeds, the best tensile and fatigue properties were obtained in the joints with the welding speed of 80 mm/min. The joint welded with a rotating speed of 1520 rpm at 80 mm/min has given a highest tensile and fatigue properties. The fatigue behaviors of the joints are almost consistent with the tensile properties, especially elongations. Higher ductility in FSW joints made the material less sensitive to fatigue. The location of tensile fractures of the joints is dependent on the welding parameters. On the other hand, the fatigue fracture locations change depending on the welding parameters and stress range. In addition, a considerable correlation could not be established in between heat indexes and mechanical properties of FSW 2014-T6 joints under the investigated welding parameters.  相似文献

Ultra‐fine grained ferrite steels have higher strength and better toughness than the normal ferrite steels because of their micrometer or sub‐micrometer sized grains. In this paper the ultra‐fine grained steel SS400 is welded by CO2 laser. The shape of weld, cooling rate of HAZ, width of HAZ, microstructures and mechanical properties of the joint are discussed. Experimental results indicate that laser beam welding can produce weld with a large ratio of depth to width. The cooling rate of HAZ of laser beam welding is fast, the growth of prior austenite grains of HAZ is limited, and the width of weld and HAZ is narrow. The microstructures of weld metal and coarse‐grained HAZ of laser beam welding mainly consist of BL + M (small amount). With proper laser power and welding speed, good comprehensive mechanical properties can be acquired. The toughness of weld metal and coarse‐grained HAZ are higher than that of base metal. There is no softened zone after laser beam welding. The tensile strength of a welded joint is higher than that of base metal. The welded joint has good bending ductility.  相似文献

The variation of morphology and mechanical properties of Al6061 automotive aluminum alloy due to friction stir welding (FSW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) was investigated by optical metallography, scanning electron microscopy, microhardness measurement, X-ray diffraction, tensile testing, and fractography. The center-line dendrite emergence and microhardness reduction in the heat-affected zone were observed in the GTAW process. Although similar microhardness reduction with respect to the base metal was observed in the FSW samples, higher HVs were obtained for the FSW rather than the GTAW process at almost all heat-affected locations. Ultimate tensile strengths of the FSW and the GTAW samples in the transverse direction were ~0.57 and ~0.35 of the base metal, respectively. Post-weld aging improved the strength, but reduced the ductility of the welding.  相似文献

通过拉伸试验.测定了2219-T87铝合金母材及其变极性等离子焊焊接接头不同温度下的力学性能。利用光学昆微镜与扫描电镜等手段,对母材和焊接接头的微观组织及断口形貌进行了观察和分析,研究了低温对母材和焊接接头性能的影响。试验结果表明,该铝合金具有低温增强增韧现象,适用于低温条件下工作;VPPAW接头强度塑性提高的同时低温延伸率变化不大。探讨了低温对母材及焊接接头性能的影响机理。  相似文献

This paper presents the efforts of joining dissimilar aluminum alloys (AA6351-T6 and AA6061-T6) by friction stir welding (FSW) process. FSW experiments are conducted according to the three factors five level central composite rotatable design method, and the response surface methodology was used to establish the empirical relationship between FSW process parameters such as tool rotational speed (N), tool traverse speed (S) and axial force (F), and the response variables such as ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, and percentage of elongation. The developed empirical models’ adequacies are estimated using the analysis of variance technique. This paper also presents the application of the artificial bee colony algorithm to estimate the optimal process parameters to achieve good mechanical properties of FS weld joints. Results suggest that the estimations of the algorithm are in good agreement with the experimental findings.  相似文献

0.3C–CrMoV(ESR) steel is a new ultrahigh strength medium-carbon low alloy steel which is developed as a cost effective material for space applications. It is a quenched and tempered steel and upon heat treatment it develops an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of up to 1700 MPa with a corresponding 0.2% proof strength of 1400 MPa and a tensile elongation of 8%. The steel is processed through the secondary melting practice of electro-slag refining (ESR). Inoculation with niobium is employed to reduce the grain size of the steel. ESR-cast ingots are subjected to thermo-mechanical processing like hot forging, rolling and ring-rolling to realize product forms such as plates, rings and bars. It has excellent cold and hot working characteristics, and it is amenable to welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding and plasma arc welding. Filler wire having the same chemical composition as that of the base metal is used, and a welding efficiency close to 100% is achievable. In this paper, brief outline on the steel’s characteristics such as chemical composition, processing details, mechanical properties of base metal and weld metal, etc. is provided.  相似文献

采用光纤激光焊接设备对1800 MPa级热成形钢与CR340LA低合金高强钢进行对接激光拼焊,研究了不同激光焊接功率和焊接速度下焊接接头的组织演变规律及热冲压成形性能,并对焊接接头的力学性能和硬度进行了分析。结果表明,3种焊接工艺下激光拼焊原板综合力学性能相差较小,由焊接接头造成的伸长率和抗拉强度的损失均在母材的28.3%和9.1%以内。激光焊接后焊缝区均为粗大、高硬度的马氏体结构;两侧热影响区组织主要为铁素体和马氏体,接头未出现明显的软化区。激光拼焊原板拉伸试样均断裂于CR340LA母材区,距离焊缝12 mm左右,且存在焊缝隆起现象。选取焊接功率和焊接速率分别为4000 W和0.18 m·s?1的焊接试样在高温下进行热冲压成形检测,未出现焊缝开裂,热成形后拼焊板具有良好性能,满足汽车激光拼焊板使用要求,拉伸结果表明,试样断裂位置与未热冲压成形前一致,均位于CR340LA母材区,拉伸过程中,焊缝向高强度母材侧偏移,在弱强度母材侧产生应力集中并缩颈断裂。   相似文献

采用新型Al-Mg-Sc-Zr焊丝对含钪Al-Zn-Mg-Zr合金薄板材进行MIG焊,借助显微硬度及拉伸性能测试、OM,SEM,TEM等检测手段对焊接接头的微观组织和性能进行研究。结果表明:焊缝区为典型的铸态组织;热影响区靠近焊缝一侧呈现大量细小等轴晶组织,靠近基材区为纤维状组织和少量再结晶组织;基材区为纤维状组织。焊接接头的显微硬度以焊缝为中心呈近似对称,且中心处硬度值最低;抗拉强度为481 MPa,屈服强度为320MPa,伸长率为10.1%,焊接系数约0.83。同时,焊丝和基材中微量的Sc和Zr元素在合金中形成大量细小且与基体共格的Al3(Sc,Zr)粒子,能显著细化晶粒组织,有效抑制再结晶发生,大大改善焊缝区的力学性能。  相似文献

利用光学显微镜、透射电子显微镜、显微硬度计和万能拉伸试验机等分析手段,表征了Al?Zn?Mg?Cu?Zr?(Sc)合金搅拌摩擦焊(FSW)接头的显微组织和性能,探究了Sc元素对改善超高强Al?Zn?Mg?Cu?Zr合金焊接性能的作用机制。结果表明:Al?Zn?Mg?Cu?Zr?(Sc)合金焊接接头具有相似的组织特征,焊核区为动态再结晶组织,由细小均匀的等轴晶组成,包含较高密度的位错线,大部分时效析出相回溶;热力影响区晶粒被拉长,位错密度更高,残留的时效析出相显著粗化;热影响区保留与母材相同的晶粒形态,大部分时效析出的η'相发生长大,少部分粗化成η相。添加质量分数0.17%的Sc,可以使合金FSW接头抗拉强度提升43 MPa,屈服强度提升23 MPa,断后伸长率改善2.3%,焊接系数达到74.1%。Al3(Sc,Zr)二次析出相可以强烈抑制位错、亚晶界、晶界的移动,细化晶粒的同时保留大量的亚结构,且自身可发挥Orowan弥散强化作用。因此,可通过细晶强化、亚结构强化和弥散强化三种方式显著提高合金FSW接头的力学性能。   相似文献

Friction stir welding process is a promising solid state joining process with the potential to join low melting point materials, particularly aluminum alloys. The most attractive reason for this is the avoidance of solidification defects formed during conventional fusion welding processes. Tool rotational speed and the welding speed play a major role in deciding the weld quality. In the present work an effort has been made to study the effect of the tool rotational speed and welding speed on mechanical and metallurgical properties of friction stir welded joints of aluminum alloy AA6082-T651. The micro hardness profiles obtained on welded zone indicate uniform distribution of grains in the stir zone. The maximum tensile strength obtained is 263 MPa which is about 85% of that of base metal. Scanning electron microscope was used to show the fractured surfaces of tensile tested specimens.  相似文献

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of Cu-0.80Cr-0.10Zr (in wt pct) alloy under aged condition was performed to study the effects of process parameters on microstructure and properties of the joint. FSW was performed over a wide range of process parameters, like tool-rotation speed (from 800 to 1200 rpm) and tool-travel speed (from 40 to 100 mm/min), and the resulting thermal cycles were recorded on both sides (advancing and retreating) of the joint. The joints were characterized for their microstructure and tensile properties. The welding process resulted in a sound and defect-free weld joint, over the entire range of the process parameters used in this study. Microstructure of the stir zone showed fine and equiaxed grains, the scale of which varied with FSW process parameters. Grain size in the stir zone showed direct correlation with tool rotation and inverse correlation with tool-travel speed. Tensile strength of the weld joints was ranging from 225 to 260 MPa, which is substantially lower than that of the parent metal under aged condition (~ 400 MPa), but superior to that of the parent material under annealed condition (~ 220 MPa). Lower strength of the FSW joint than that of the parent material under aged condition can be attributed to dissolution of the precipitates in the stir zone and TMAZ. These results are presented and discussed in this paper.

对3 mm厚的DC04冷轧IF钢板进行搅拌摩擦加工,研究加工区域的微观组织与力学性能.在旋转速度为950 r·min-1,加工速度为60 mm·min-1时,采用加工后强制冷却技术可获得光滑平整且没有缺陷的加工表面.搅拌摩擦加工后组织显著细化,加工中心的平均显微硬度约为HV 135.6,是母材硬度的1.4倍,表面细晶层硬度最高可达到HV 312.8,细晶层和过渡层的抗拉强度分别比母材的抗拉强度提高50.9%和47.6%,加工前后试样的拉伸断口均呈微孔聚合韧性断裂特征.细晶强化对材料抗拉强度的提高起主要作用.   相似文献

In this study, the effect of tool pin profile on mechanical properties, microstructural, material flow, thermal and strain distributions of friction stir welding of AA5083 was investigated. Two different tools with cylindrical and square pin profiles were employed to produce the welds. A numerical model is developed for investigating the effect of tool pin profiles on material flow, thermal and strain distributions based on thermo-mechanically coupled rigid-viscoplastic 3D FEM. Then, optical microscopy was employed to characterize the microstructures features of the weld. Finally, tensile test was carried out to characterize the mechanical properties of the weld. Obtained results showed that square pin profile produced finer grain structure and higher ultimate strength relative to cylindrical one. These results may be related to higher eccentricity, larger stirred zone, and higher temperature in the weld zone of the square pin profile.  相似文献

 Microstructure, tensile and impact toughness properties and fracture location of friction stir welded AISI 1018 mild steel are revealed in this paper. The 5 mm thick AISI 1018 mild steel plates were friction stir welded with tool rotational speed of 1000 rpm and welding speed of 50 mm/min with tungsten base alloy tool. Tensile strength of stir zone is higher (8%) when compared to the base metal. This may be due to the formation of finer grains in the weld nugget region under the stirring action of the rotating tool. The ductility and impact toughness of the joints are decreased compared to the base metal and this is due to the inclusion of tungsten particles in the weld region.  相似文献

In the present study, tensile behavior of friction-stir-welded Al 6061-T651 with varying welding parameters, including rotating and welding speeds, was examined. The 4-mm-thick Al 6061-T651 alloy plates were FSW with varying tool rotating speeds, 1000, 1400, 1600, 2000, and 2500 rpm, and welding speeds, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, to 0.4 mpm (m/min). Tensile specimens were prepared with the tensile direction perpendicular to the welding direction, so that the weld zone is located in the middle of the specimen. It was found that the tensile elongation of friction-stir-welded Al 6061-T651 decreased with decreasing welding speed or increasing rotating speed. The yield and ultimate tensile strength were also affected, but to a significantly lesser degree, with varying welding parameters. The micrographic and fractographic observations strongly suggested that the change in tensile behavior of friction-stri-welded Al 6061-T651 was largely related to the clustering of coarse Mg2Si precipitates, due to the whirling and hurling action by severe plastic flow in the weld zone. Low welding speed or high rotating speed tended to encourage the plastic flow per unit time and consequently the clustering of coarse precipitates.  相似文献

分析了焊接电流70A、80A、90A对40CrNiMoA钢焊缝接头组织和力学性能的影响。随着焊接电流的增大,焊缝外观质量较好。随着焊接电流的增大,熔池区温度升高,奥氏体晶粒尺寸增大,导致马氏体组织粗大。焊缝的显微组织为马氏体及少量残余奥氏体。焊缝的硬度远高于母材的硬度,且波动较大。热影响区的硬度从母材向沿焊缝方向逐渐升高。焊接接头纵向应力在焊缝中心为压应力,向外压应力减小。焊接颜色区边界处纵向应力为拉应力,且该点拉应力最大。焊接接头横向应力在焊缝中心为拉应力,向外逐渐增大,焊接颜色区边界处变横向拉应力达到最大。焊接电流和热输入增大,降低了材料的韧性,组织中铁素体增多及焊接残余应力是诱发脆性断裂的原因。焊接电流80A是40CrNiMoA同质焊条平板对接焊接工艺的最佳的焊接电流。  相似文献
