We propose a new computer-controlled phase-shifting method based on computer-generated holograms (CGHs) displayed on a spatial light modulator (SLM). In this method the accurate phase shifts required in phase-shifting digital holography or interferometry are induced by a suitable transformation of the encoding patterns of the CGH displayed on a SLM. Both the theoretical analysis and the experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of this approach. We also discuss possible applications of this method in the field of interferometric null testing of aspheres.  相似文献

We propose parallel three-step phase-shifting digital holography as a technique capable of noiseless instantaneous measurement of three-dimensional objects based on phase-shifting interferometry. The proposed digital holography carries out three-step phase shifting at the same time by using a phase-shifting array device located in the reference beam. The array device has a periodic three-step phase distribution, and its configuration is simplified compared with that required for conventional parallel phase-shifting digital holography. Therefore the optical system of the proposed parallel phase-shifting digital holography is more suitable for the realization of the proposed holography. We conduct both a numerical simulation and a preliminary experiment. The results of the simulation and experiment agree well with those of the conventional phase-shifting method and are superior to the results obtained by conventional digital holography by using the Fresnel transform alone. Thus the effectiveness of the proposed technique is verified.  相似文献

The technique is based on phase-shifting interferometry. The proposed technique carries out the two-step phase-shifting method at one time and can be optically implemented by using a phase-shifting array device located in the reference beam. The array device has a periodic two-step phase distribution, and its configuration is simplified compared with that required for three-step and four-step parallel phase-shifting digital holographies. Therefore the optical system of the proposed technique is more suitable for the realization of a parallel phase-shifting digital holography system. We conduct both a numerical simulation and a preliminary experiment in the proposed technique. The results of the simulation and the experiment agree well with those of sequential phase-shifting digital holography, and results are superior to those obtained by conventional digital holography using the Fresnel transform alone. 为了消除相移误差对数字全息中再现像的像质的影响,本文时单次相移数字全息进行了研究.基于相位统计特性,提出了一种有效消除相移误差的新方法,该方法能够对任意未知相移量进行提取,并利用数字全息图所有抽样点的强度偏差之和作为评价标准,通过逐步改变计算得到的初始相移值来寻找正确的实际相移角.计算机模拟得到了很好的再现结果,证明了该方法的可行性和有效性.  相似文献

We propose a scheme to improve the reconstructed image in parallel quasi-phase-shifting digital holography. Parallel quasi-phase-shifting digital holography is a technique capable of noiseless instantaneous measurement of three-dimensional objects, and it implements four kinds of phase shifting at a time with an array of 2 x 2 phase-shifting devices located in the reference wave. In the phase-shifting calculation in the reconstruction process of the technique, the scheme assigns the 2 x 2 cell configuration for each pixel in the vertical direction and for each 1-pixel interval in the horizontal direction of the hologram recorded by the image sensor. We conduct both a numerical simulation and a preliminary experiment. The results show that the proposed scheme can improve the quality of the reconstructed image calculated by the conventional scheme of parallel quasi-phase-shifting digital holography we previously proposed, and then the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified.  相似文献

Phase characterization with a good spatial resolution is crucial for focused beams in nonlinear media. The phase-shifting interferometry technique, using the least-squares error criterion for several interferograms, is implemented using a reflective spatial light modulator (SLM). The method provides a convenient calibration for any phase-shift steps. The reliability of the proposed method is checked by direct comparison with results obtained by the Fourier transform method as well as using a previously characterized circular phase object.  相似文献

The amount of displacement of a diffused object can be measured using phase-shifting digital holography with a polarization imaging camera. Four digital holograms in quadrature are extracted from the polarization imaging camera and used to calculate the phase hologram. Two Fourier transforms of the phase holograms are calculated before and after the displacement of the object. A phase slope is subsequently obtained from the phase distribution of division between the two Fourier transforms. The slope of the phase distribution is proportional to the lateral displacement of the object. The sensitivity is less than one pixel size in the lateral direction of the movement. The longitudinal component of the displacement can be also measured separately from the intercept on the phase axis along the phase distribution of the division between two Fourier transforms of the phase holograms.  相似文献

A three-dimensional (3D) digital holographic display system with image processing is presented. By use of phase-shifting digital holography, we obtain the complex amplitude of a 3D object at a recording plane. Image processing techniques are introduced to improve the quality of the reconstructed 3D object or manipulate 3D objects for elimination and addition of information by modifying the complex amplitude. The results show that the information processing is effective in such manipulations of 3D objects. We also show a fast recording system of 3D objects based on phase-shifting digital holography for display with image processing. The acquisition of 3D object information at 500 Hz is demonstrated experimentally.  相似文献

A method for optical encryption of three-dimensional (3D) information by use of digital holography is presented. A phase-shifting interferometer records the phase and amplitude information generated by a 3D object at a plane located in the Fresnel diffraction region with an intensity-recording device. Encryption is performed optically by use of the Fresnel diffraction pattern of a random phase code. Images of the 3D object with different perspectives and focused at different planes can be generated digital or optically after decryption with the proper key. A three-dimensional (3D) object reconstruction technique that uses only phase information of a phase-shifting digital hologram and a phase-only spatial-light modulator is proposed. It is well known that a digital hologram can store both amplitude and phase information of an optical electric field and can reconstruct the original 3D object in a computer. We demonstrate that it is possible to reconstruct optically 3D objects using only phase information of the optical field calculated from phase-shifting digital holograms. The use of phase-only information enables us to reduce the amount of data in the digital hologram and reconstruct optically the 3D objects using a liquid-crystal spatial light modulator without optical power loss. Numerical evaluation of the reconstructed 3D object is presented.  相似文献

We present what is to our knowledge a novel technique for efficient suppression of the zero-order beam inherent in light patterns projected via phase-only computer-generated holograms (CGHs). Encoding a CGH on a spatial light modulator (SLM) with a limited fill factor produces a disturbing zero-order beam at the optical axis. Here, we propose to derive a CGH, which includes holographic information to project a corrective beam that destructively interferes with the zero-order beam. The CGH for projecting arbitrary light patterns plus a corrective beam are derived using the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm where the iterations impose both amplitude and phase constraints for the target field pattern at the Fourier plane. As proof of principle, we analyze the viability of the technique by simulating the performance when applied on a practical SLM with a limited fill factor, fixed number of phase-shifting pixels, and wavefront distortion associated with the surface roughness of the SLM.  相似文献

We propose an algorithm for compensating the phase-shift error of polarization-based parallel two-step phase-shifting digital holography, which is a technique for recording a spatial two-step phase-shifted hologram. Although a polarization-based system of the technique has been experimentally demonstrated, there had been the problem that the phase difference of two phase-shifted holograms had been changed by the extinction ratio of the micropolarizer array attached to the image sensor used in the system. To improve the performance of the system, we established and formulated an algorithm for compensating the phase-shift error. Accurate spatial phase-shifting interferometry in the system can be conducted by the algorithm regardless of phase-shift error due to the extinction ratio. By the numerical simulation, the proposed algorithm was capable of reducing the root mean square errors of the reconstructed image by 1/4 and 1/5 in amplitude and phase, respectively. Also, the algorithm was experimentally demonstrated, and the experimental results showed that the system employing the proposed algorithm suppressed the conjugate image, which slightly appeared in the image reconstructed by the system not employing the algorithm, even when the extinction ratio was 10:1. Thus, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm was numerically and experimentally verified.  相似文献

Microscopy by holographic means is attractive because it permits true three-dimensional (3D) visualization and 3D display of the objects. We investigate the necessary condition on the object size and spatial bandwidth for complete 3D microscopic imaging with phase-shifting digital holography with various common arrangements. The cases for which a Fresnel holographic arrangement is sufficient and those for which object magnification is necessary are defined. Limitations set by digital sensors are analyzed in the Wigner domain. The trade-offs between the various holographic arrangements in terms of conditions on the object size and bandwidth, recording conditions required for complete representation, and complexity are discussed.  相似文献

A method for the remote comparison of objects with regard to their shape or response to a load is presented. The method allows interferometric sensitivity for comparing objects with different microstructure. In contrast to the well-known incoherent techniques based on inverse fringe projection this new approach uses the coherent optical wave field of the master object as a mask for the illumination of the sample object. The coherent mask is created by digital holography to allow instant access to the complete optical information of the master object at any place desired. The mask is reconstructed by a spatial light modulator (SLM). The optical reconstruction of digital holograms with SLM technology allows modification of reconstructed wavefronts with respect to improvement of image quality, the skilled introduction of additional information about the object (augmented reality), and the alignment of the master and test object.  相似文献

We propose a novel method for signal storage and encryption, called single-beam multiplexing encoding. The single beam is composed of an inside signal beam and an outside reference beam. The signal beam is amplitude modulated, and the reference beam is phase modulated. The dual modulation is implemented by a spatial light modulator (SLM). Multiplexing holography with different reference beams from different directions, called directional multiplexing, is analyzed in detail. With an SLM based on a twisted nematic liquid crystal display, we demonstrate a single-beam directional multiplexing method using a holographic encoding technique, and the retrieved signals are presented. This encoding system is more stable, miniaturized, and flexible. It should be of great interest for applications in signal encryption as well as for high-capacity data storage.  相似文献

We describe data compression in phase-shifting digital holography. We demonstrate by experimentation that an image of a diffusely reflecting object can be reconstructed only by phase data of the derived complex amplitude. It is shown that reduction of the bit depth of the phase data does not seriously damage the image even down to 1 bit. We observe enhancement of halo in the image with low bit depths. This tendency is verified quantitatively by a one-dimensional simulation. Our procedure for smoothing the images that result from the data-compression methods is shown to be effective.  相似文献

One can correct spherical aberration in a transmission electron microscope by using a newly developed aberration-correction method involving off-axis electron holography. In this method, a liquid-crystal spatial-light modulator (LC SLM) is employed during the holographic reconstruction step to compensate for spherical aberration. Application of this method to high-resolution off-axis electron holograms of fine gold particles is presented. The phase distribution of the corrected object wave is visualized by the Zernike phase-contrast method carried out with the same LC SLM.  相似文献

A powerful technique is presented for processing complex fringe patterns with high noise levels and arbitrary distributions of spatial frequencies, which can successfully extract the phase information. Artifacts that arise from phase extraction in local filtering approaches are avoided by using a simple design and implementation strategy for the adaptive filter, based on the theory of digital filter design used in electronics, and applied to pixel rows (or columns) in the fringe-pattern. The filter designed in this manner is then applied to phase extraction in an experimental fringe pattern measured in a digital Ronchi test setup using a Carré phase-shifting procedure. The filtering strategy has a very low computational cost and allows phase extraction in noisy ronchigrams regardless their spatial frequency distribution, provided the fringes are still visible.  相似文献
