In this work we investigated the solid-state supercritical CO2 (scCO2) foaming of poly(?-caprolactone) (PCL), a semi-crystalline, biodegradable polyester, and PCL loaded with 5 wt% of hydroxyapatite (HA) nano-particles.In order to investigate the effect of the thermal history and eventual residue of the crystalline phase on the pore structure of the foams, samples were subjected to three different cooling protocols from the melt, and subsequently foamed by using scCO2 as blowing agent. The foaming process was performed in the 37-40 °C temperature range, melting point of PCL being 60 °C. The saturation pressure, in the range from 10 to 20 MPa, and the foaming time, from 2 to 900 s, were modulated in order to control the final morphology, porosity and pore structure of the foams and, possibly, to amplify the original differences among the different samples. The results of this study demonstrated that by the scCO2 foaming it was possible to produce PCL and PCL-HA foams with homogeneous morphologies at relatively low temperatures. Furthermore, by the appropriate combination of materials properties and foaming parameters, we prepared foams with porosities in the 55-85% range, mean pore size from 40 to 250 μm and pore density from 105 to 108 pore/cm3. Finally, we also proposed a two-step depressurization foaming process for the design of bi-modal and highly interconnected foams suitable as scaffolds for tissue engineering.  相似文献

Pore structure changing of coal during the CO2 geo-sequestration is one of the key issues that affect the sequestration process significantly. To address this problem, the CO2 sequestration process in an anthracite coal was replicated using a supercritical CO2 (ScCO2) reactor. Different coal grain sizes were exposed to ScCO2 and water at around 40 °C and 9.8 MPa for 72 h. Helium pycnometer and mercury porosimetry provide the density, pore size distribution and porosity of the coal before and after the ScCO2 treatment. The results show that after exposure to the ScCO2-H2O reaction, part of the carbonate minerals were dissolved and flushed away by water which made the true density increased as well as total pore volume and porosity most importantly in the micro-pore range. Hysteresis between mercury intrusion and extrusion was observed. Ink bottle shaped pores can be either damaged or created compared with the ScCO2 treated coal samples. This suggests that the ScCO2 treatment most likely increase the volumes of pores in anthracite coal, which also contributed to the increase in porosity of the treated samples. Therefore the CO2 sequestration into coal appears to have the potential to increase significantly the anthracite microporosity which is very advantageous for CO2 storage.  相似文献

Foaming properties of the three NC‐based (nitrocellulose‐based) propellants, namely, single‐base propellant, NG (nitroglycerine) propellant and TEGDN (triethylene glycol dinitrate) propellant were investigated in the batch foaming process by using supercritical CO2 as the physical foaming agent. Burning characteristics of the foamed NC‐based propellants were also investigated in this work. For this study, the CO2 desorption of the three NC‐based propellants were plotted by the gravimetric method. The morphology and burning characteristics of these foamed NC‐based propellants were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and closed vessel experiment. The test data revealed that the energetic plasticizer has a considerable effect on the pore formation in the NC matrix although it has little effect on the CO2 solubility in the NC‐based propellants. Moreover, the SEM images showed the foaming temperature also plays an important role in the pore parameters of foamed propellants. Furthermore, the data of closed vessel experiment indicated that the burning characteristics of foamed NC‐based propellants largely depend on the pore parameters, and the porous structure of foamed propellants would considerably increase the mass conversion rate.  相似文献

Amine-modified SiO2 aerogel was prepared using 3-(aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) as the modification agent and rice husk ash as silicon source, its CO2 adsorption performance was investigated. The amine-modified SiO2 aerogel remains porous, the specific surface area is 654.24 m2/g, the pore volume is 2.72 cm3/g and the pore diameter is 12.38 nm. The amine-modified aerogel, whose N content is up to 3.02 mmol/g, can stay stable below the temperature of 300 °C. In the static adsorption experiment, amine-modified SiO2 aerogel (AMSA) showed the highest CO2 adsorption capacity of 52.40 cm3/g. A simulation was promoted to distinguish the adsorption between the physical process and chemical process. It is observed that the chemical adsorption mainly occurs at the beginning, while the physical adsorption affects the entire adsorption process. Meanwhile, AMSA also exhibits excellent CO2 adsorption–desorption performance. The CO2 adsorption capacity dropped less than 10 % after ten times of adsorption–desorption cycles. As a result, AMSA with rice husk ash as raw material is a promising CO2 sorbent with high adsorption capacity and stable recycle performance and will have a broad application prospect for exhaust emission in higher temperature.  相似文献

A series of V2O5-TiO2 aerogel catalysts were prepared by the sol-gel method with subsequent supercritical drying with CO2. The main variables in the sol-gel method were the amounts of V2O5 and when the vanadium precursor was introduced. V2O5-TiO2 xerogel and V2O5/TiO2 (P-25) were also prepared for comparison. The V2O5-TiO2 aerogel catalysts showed much higher surface areas and total pore volumes than V2O5-TiO2 xerogel and impregnated V2O5/TiO2 (P-25) catalysts. The catalysts were characterized by N2 physisorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-Raman spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction with H2 (H2-TPR), and temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD). The selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia in the presence of excess O2 was studied over these catalysts. Among various V2O5-TiO2 catalysts, V2O5 supported on aerogel TiO2 showed a wide temperature window exhibiting high NOx conversions. This superior catalytic activity is closely related to the large amounts of strong acidic sites as well as the surface vanadium species with characteristics such as easy reducibility and monomeric and polymeric vanadia surface species. The process of foaming glass is very dependent on the chemical composition of the glass. In this study we used a foaming-agent/oxidizing-agent couple and a crystallization inhibitor to foam cullets of flat, container and CRT-panel glass. Foamed glass with a density of 110–120?kg?m–3, a thermal conductivity of 50–52?mW?m–1 K–1 and a homogeneous pore structure was obtained from a mixture of panel glass, 0.33?wt% carbon and 4.45?wt% Fe2O3. We also showed that it is possible to fabricate foamed glass with the same density or pore structure as mentioned above by adding up to 50?wt% container cullet or 70?wt% flat glass to the mixture. In the foamed samples with a low content of panel glass, crystals form, resulting in an increased open porosity, density and inhomogeneous pore structure. The crystallization can, however, be inhibited by adding calcium phosphate, so enabling the preparation of high-quality foamed glass from flat glass or flat/container-glass mixture. The pore gas is predominantly CO2 and the pressure inside the pores is 0.36–0.47?bar. The reduced effect of the composition on the foaming process suggests that there is a great potential for stabilizing the production of foamed glass and ensuring the product's quality.  相似文献

Ordered mesoporous carbons (OMC), were synthesized by nanocasting using ordered mesoporous silica as hard templates. Ordered mesoporous carbons CMK-1 and CMK-3 were prepared from MCM-48 and SBA-15 materials with pore diameters of 3.4 nm and 4.2 nm, respectively. Mesoporous carbons can be effectively modified for CO2 adsorption with amine functional groups due to their high affinity for CO2. Polyaniline (PANI)/mesoporous carbon nanocomposites were synthesized from in-situ polymerization by dissolving OMC in aniline monomer. The polymerization of aniline molecules inside the mesochannels of mesoporous carbons has been performed by ammonium persulfate. The nanocomposition, morphology, and structure of the nanocomposite were investigated by nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, Fourier Transform Infrared (FT–IR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). CO2 uptake capacity of the mesoporous carbon materials was obtained by a gravimetric adsorption apparatus for the pressure range from 1 to 5 bar and in the temperature range of 298 to 348 K. CMK-3/PANI exhibited higher CO2 capture capacity than CMK-1/PANI owing to its larger pore size that accommodates more amine groups inside the pore structure, and the mesoporosity also can facilitate dispersion of PANI molecules inside the pore channels. Moreover, the mechanism of CO2 adsorption involving amine groups is investigated. The results show that at elevated temperature, PANI/mesoporous carbon nanocomposites have a negligible CO2 adsorption capacity due to weak chemical interactions with the carbon nanocomposite surface.  相似文献

This paper aims at elucidating some important parameters affecting the cellular morphology of poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN)/clay nanocomposite foams prepared with the supercritical CO2 technology. Prior to foaming experiments, the SAN/CO2 system has first been studied. The effect of nanoclay on CO2 sorption/desorption rate into/from SAN is assessed with a gravimetric method. Ideal saturation conditions are then deduced in view of the foaming process. Nanocomposites foaming has first been performed with the one-step foaming process, also called depressurization foaming. Foams with different cellular morphology have been obtained depending on nanoclay dispersion level and foaming conditions. While foaming at low temperature (40 °C) leads to foams with the highest cell density (∼1012-1014 cells/cm3), the foam expansion is restricted (d∼0.7-0.8 g/cm3). This drawback has been overcome with the use of the two-step foaming process, also called solid-state foaming, where foam expansion occurs during sample dipping in a hot oil bath (d∼0.1-0.5 g/cm3). Different foaming parameters have been varied, and some schemes have been drawn to summarize the characteristics of the foams prepared - cell size, cell density, foam density - depending on both the foaming conditions and nanoclay addition. This result thus illustrates the huge flexibility of the supercritical CO2 batch foaming process for tuning the foam cellular morphology.  相似文献

A supernatant solution of silicate species extracted from bottom ash in a power plant was used to prepare a mesoporous silica by the synthesis protocol of SBA-15. XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption, and TEM confirmed a disordered mesopore structure. The pore volume and average pore size of the product were significantly larger than SBA-15 prepared using pure chemicals, and complementary textural mesoporosity was detected. When the mesoporous silica was tested for carbon dioxide sorption after polyethyleneimine (PEI) impregnation, substantially higher CO2 sorption capacity (169 mg CO2/g-sorbent) was achieved than that of PEI-impregnated pure SBA-15 under the same test conditions. High CO2 sorption capacity was maintained when the gas composition was changed to 15% CO2, and the hybrid material exhibited satisfactory performances during the 10 recycle runs.  相似文献

Hydrotalcite was synthesized from hydroxide-form precursors to prepare a novel high-temperature CO2 sorbent, and the effect of Mg/Al ratio on CO2 sorption was studied. To enhance the CO2 sorption capacity of the sorbent, K2CO3 was coprecipitated during the synthetic reaction. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the prepared samples had a well-defined crystalline hydrotalcite structure, and confirmed that K2CO3 was successfully coprecipitated in the samples. The morphology of the hydrotalcite was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy, and N2 adsorption analysis was used to estimate its surface area and pore volume. In addition, thermogravimetric analysis was used to measure its CO2 sorption capacity, and the results revealed that the Mg: Al: K2CO3 ratio used in the preparation has an optimum value for maximum CO2 sorption capacity.  相似文献

To remove tar and produce environment-friendly H2, one of the promising routes is the sorption-enhanced steam reforming (SESR) process, in which the CO2 sorbent is a key element. We prepared the CO2 sorbents with Ca12Al14O33 as carrier with various methods. Their characterizations were examined, and the sample prepared by solgel (SG) method showed the strongest CaO and Ca12Al14O33 phases and the most excellent pore structure among all the samples. Then, a thermogravimetric experiment was conducted, and the results showed that the sample prepared by sol-gel (SG) method had the best CO2 adsorption capacity and excellent long-term cyclic stability. Finally, the sorbent was used into the steam reforming experiments of tar. Under the action of the sorbent, the reforming reaction was enhanced in-situ, with the H2 yield and concentration improved obviously, and especially, H2 concentration can reach over 98.85%.  相似文献

The Yangsanmu oilfield of Dagang is a typical heavy oil reservoir. After the maximum primary production (waterflooding), more than half of the original oil is still retained in the formation. Therefore, the implementation of an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) process to further raise the production scheme is inevitable. In this work, a novel in-situ CO2 foam technique which can be used as a potential EOR technique in this oilfield was studied. A screening of gas producers, foam stabilizers and foaming agents was followed by the study of the properties of the in-situ CO2 foam systems through static experiments. Core-flooding experiments and field application were also conducted to evaluate the feasibility of this technique. The results indicated that the in-situ CO2 foam system can improve both the sweep and displacement efficiencies, due to the capacity of this system in reducing oil viscosity and interfacial tension, respectively. The EOR performance of the in-situ CO2 foam system is better than the single-agent and even binary system (surfactant-polymer) flooding. The filed data demonstrated that the in-situ CO2 technique can significantly promote oil production and control water cuts. These results are believed to be beneficial in making EOR strategies for similar reservoirs.  相似文献

The effects of process variables on the microcellular structure and crystallization of foamed polypropylene (PP) with supercritical CO2 as the foaming agent were investigated in this article. The cell size increased and the cell density reduced with increased foaming temperature. Differently, both the cell diameter and cell density increased as saturation pressure increased. DSC curves showed that the melting peak was broadened when supercritical CO2 foaming PP. Furthermore, the width at half-height of the melting peak increased, the melting peak moved to higher temperature, and the melting point and crystallinity enhanced as the foaming temperature lowered and the saturation pressure enhanced.  相似文献

In this contribution we describe the use of heterogeneous catalysts for the liquid-phase self-metathesis of 1-octene in supercritical CO2. Our work aims at addressing the mass-transfer problems associated with such reaction systems. By coupling a heterogeneous supported Re2O7 catalyst with the use of scCO2, the self-metathesis of 1-octene takes place by and large much more rapidly than in traditional solvent media, and furthermore, by using scCO2 the overall efficiency and sustainability of the transformation can be improved.

The main purpose of the study was to develop a model using ASPEN and Excel simulation method to establish optimum CO2 separation process utilizing hollow fiber membrane modules to treat exhaust gas from LNG combustion. During the simulation, optimum conditions of each CO2 separation scenario were determined while operating parameters of CO2 separation process were varied. The characteristics of hollow fibers membrane were assigned as 60 GPU of permeability and 25 of selectivity for the simulation. The simulation results illustrated that 4 stage connection of membrane module is required in order to achieve over 99% of CO2 purity and 90% of recovery rate. The resulted optimum design and operation parameters throughout the simulation were also correlated with the experimental data from the actual CO2 separation facility which has a capacity of 1,000 Nm3/day located in the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology. Throughout the simulation, the operating parameters of minimum energy consumption were evaluated. Economic analysis of pilot scale of CO2 separation plant was done with the comparison of energy cost of CO2 recovery and equipment cost of the plant based on the simulation model. A bubbling fluidized bed reactor was used to study CO2 capture from flue gas by using a potassium-based solid sorbent, sorbKX35 which was manufactured by the Korea Electric Power Research Institute. A dry sorbent, sorbKX35, consists of K2CO3 for absorption and supporters for mechanical strength. To increase initial CO2 removal, some amount of H2O was absorbed in the sorbent before injecting simulated flue gas. It was possible to achieve 100% CO2 removal for more than 10 minutes at 60°C and a residence time of 2 s with H2O pretreatment. When H2O pretreatment time was long enough to convert K2CO3 of sorbKX35 into K2CO3 · 1.5H2O, CO2 removal was excellent. The results obtained in this study can be used as basic data for designing and operating a large scale CO2 capture process with two fluidized bed reactors. Foamable high melt strength polypropylene (HMSPP) was prepared by grafting styrene (St) onto polypropylene (PP) and simultaneously introducing polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) through a one-step melt extrusion process. The effect of PDMS viscosity on the foaming behavior of HMSPP was systematically investigated using supercritical CO2 as the foaming agent. The results show that the addition of PDMS has little effect on the grafting reaction of St and HMSPP exhibits enhanced elastic response and obvious strain hardening effect. Though the CO2 solubility of HMSPP with PDMS (PDMS-HMSPP) is lower than that of HMSPP without PDMS, especially for PDMS with low viscosity, the PDMS-HMSPP foams exhibit narrow cell size distribution and high cell density. The fracture morphology of PDMS-HMSPP shows that PDMS with low viscosity disperses more easily and uniformly in HMSPP matrix, leading to form small domains during the extrusion process. These small domains act as bubble nucleation sites and thus may be responsible for the improved foaming performance of HMSPP.

CO2 reforming of CH4 was performed using Ni catalyst supported on La-hexaaluminate which has been an well-known material for high-temperature combustion. La-hexaaluminate was synthesized by sol-gel method at various conditions where different amount of Ni (5–20 wt%) was loaded. Ni/La-hexaaluminate experienced 72 h reaction and its catalytic activity was compared with that of Ni/Al2O3, Ni/La-hexaaluminate shows higher reforming activity and resistance to coke deposition compared to the Ni/Al2O3 model catalyst. Coke deposition increases proportionally to Ni content. Consequently, Ni(5)/La-hexaaluminate(700) is the most efficient catalyst among various Ni/La-hexaaluminate catalysts regarding the cost of Ni in Ni(X)/La-hexaaluminate catalysts. BET surface area, XRD, EA, TGA and TPO were performed for surface characterization. Specific pore structure is a vital essential for scaffolds applied in tissue engineering. In this article, poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) (PLGA) scaffolds with a bimodal pore structure including macropores and micropores to facilitate nutrient transfer and cell adhesion were fabricated by combining supercritical CO2 (scCO2) foaming with particle leaching technique. Three kinds of NaCl particles with different scales (i.e., 100–250, <75, <10 μm) were used as porogens, respectively. In particular, heterogeneous nucleation occurred to modify scCO2 foaming/particle leaching process when NaCl submicron particles (<10 μm) were used as porogens. The observation of PLGA scaffolds gave a formation of micropores (pore size <10 μm) in the cellular walls of macropores (pore size around 100–300 μm) to present a bimodal pore structure. With different mass fractions of NaCl introduced, the porosity of PLGA scaffolds ranged from 68.4 ± 1.4 to 88.7 ± 0.4% for three NaCl porogens. The results of SEM, EDS, and in vitro cytotoxicity test of PLGA scaffolds showed that they had uniform structures and were compatible for cell proliferation with no toxicity. This novel scCO2 foaming/particle leaching method was promising in tissue engineering due to its ability to fabricate scaffolds with precise pore structure and high porosity. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel magnetic nano-sorbent Fe3O4/Ag was synthesized and applied to capture the elemental mercury from the simulated flue gas. The morphology, components and crystal phase of the sorbents were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The mercury removal performance of the sorbents was investigated through the fixed-bed tests. The results indicated that silver was successfully loaded on the surface of Fe3O4 particles, which could significantly enhance the Hg0 removal performance of the sorbents. Flue gas components, including CO2, SO2, and NO, have little impact on the Hg0 removal performance of Fe3O4/Ag sorbents, while O2 has a slightly positive effect. The Hg0 removal efficiency decreased with the increasing of temperature, Hg0 inlet concentration and gas hourly space velocity. Only one broad mercury desorption peak at approximately 210 °C could be observed during the temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) process, which indicated that mercury species existing on the surface of Fe3O4/Ag sorbents might be elemental mercury instead of oxidized mercury. Furthermore, the reusability tests showed that the Fe3O4/Ag sorbents could be efficiently regenerated and reused. Finally, the theoretical analysis based on the DFT method showed that a weak chemisorption of Hg0 on Fe3O4 sorbents changed to a strong chemisorption when silver was loaded. The results of theoretical analysis conformed to the experiments results well.  相似文献
