Supply chain is not limited to delivering products to the end-costumers since the defective products that are returned back to the producers by the consumers. The producers should be superior knowledge to utilize the return products effectively so as to maintain our natural resources and to provide better service to customers. In this paper, a distributor and a warehouse consisting of a serviceable part and a recoverable part supply chain problem is considered in which there are several products, the distributor has limited space capacity and budget to purchase all products. In this supply chain, the defective products are returned back to the warehouse by the distributor and the warehouse recovered those defective products into perfect products having the same value as the procured products. The lead-time of receiving products from a warehouse to a distributor is a variable which is controllable by adding extra crashing cost. For each product, a fraction of the shortage is backordered and the rest are lost. A mathematical model is employed in this study for optimizing the order quantity, lead time and total number of deliveries with the objective of minimizing system total cost. We show that the model of this problem is a constrained non-linear programme and present a simple Lagrangian multiplier technique to solve it. Numerical and sensitivity analysis are given to show the applicability of the proposed model in real-world product returns inventory problems.  相似文献

We study the production planning problem for a multi-product closed loop system, in which the manufacturer has two channels for supplying products: producing brand-new products and remanufacturing returns into as-new ones. In the remanufacturing process, used products are bought back and remanufactured into as-new products which are sold together with the brand-new ones. The demands for all the products are uncertain, and their returns are uncertain and price-sensitive. The problem is to maximize the manufacturer's expected profit by jointly determining the production quantities of brand-new products, the quantities of remanufactured products and the acquisition prices of the used products, subject to a capacity constraint. A mathematical model is presented to formulate the problem and a Lagrangian relaxation based approach is developed to solve the problem. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the model and test the solution approach. Computational results show that the proposed approach is highly promising for solving the problems. The sensitivity analysis is also conducted to generate managerial insights.  相似文献

As the retail industry keeps expanding and shortage of workers increasing, there is a need for autonomous manipulation of products to support retail operations. The increasing amount of products and customers in establishments such as convenience stores requires the automation of restocking, disposing and straightening of products. The manipulation of products needs to be time-efficient, avoid damaging products and beautify the display of products. In this paper, we propose a robotic system to restock shelves, dispose expired products, and straighten products in retail environments. The proposed mobile manipulator features a custom-made end effector with compact and compliant design to safely and effectively manipulate products in retail stores. Through experiments in a convenience store scenario, we verify the effectiveness of our system to restock, dispose and rearrange items.  相似文献

In mixed run processes, typical in semiconductor manufacturing and other automated assembly-line type process, products with different recipes will be produced on the same tool. Product based run-to-run control can be applied to improve the process capability. The effect of product-based controller on low frequency products is, however, minimal, due to inability to track tool variations. In this work, we propose a group and product based EWMA control scheme which combines adaptive k-means cluster method and run-to-run EWMA control to improve the performance of low frequency products in the mixed run process. Similar products could be classified into the same group adaptively and controlled by a group EWMA controller. The group controller is updated by both low frequency products and similar high frequency products; so that low frequency products can be improved by shared information from similar large frequency products. However, the high frequency products are controlled by individual product-based EWMA to avoid interference of the low frequency products. The advantages of proposed control scheme are demonstrated by benchmark simulation and reversed engineered industrial applications.  相似文献

Establishment of reverse logistics (RL) networks for various original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) is gaining significant importance. Various green legislations are forcing OEMs to take back their used, end-of-lease or end-of-life products, or products under warranty to minimize wastes and conserve resources. Therefore OEMs have turned to a better design of their products for maximum reuse and recycling and to retrieve back the used products through a network for reuse, remanufacture, recycle or disposal, so that maximum value can be achieved from their used products. However, designing of network points and assigning capacities to them depend not only on the volume of returned products but also on the demand for remanufactured products and the parts of used products. If OEMs are not able to add value to the used product, there would be no incentive to design a complex network.In this paper, a mathematical model for the design of a RL network is proposed. It is assumed that the returned products need to be consolidated in the warehouse before they are sent to reprocessing centres for inspection and dismantling. Dismantled parts are sent for remanufacturing or to the secondary market as spare parts. Recycling and disposal of these modules are also considered in the model. The use of the model is shown through its application in a numerical example.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to establish a methodology for an effective working of Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems (RMSs). These systems are the next step in manufacturing, allowing the production of any quantity of highly customised and complex products together with the benefits of mass production. In RMSs, products are grouped into families, each of which requires a system configuration. The system is configured to produce the first family of products. Once it is finished, the system is reconfigured in order to produce the second family, and so forth. Therefore, the effectiveness of a RMS depends on the formation of the best set of product families. Therefore, a methodology for grouping products into families, which takes into account the requirements of products in RMSs, is an issue of core importance. These requirements are modularity, commonality, compatibility, reusability, and product demand. The methodology starts by calculating, for each product requirement, a matrix that summarises the similarity between pairs of products. Then, through the use of the AHP methodology, a unique matrix that comprises the similarity values between products is obtained. The Average Linkage Clustering algorithm is applied to this matrix in order to obtain a dendogram that shows the diverse sets of product families that may be formed.  相似文献

Usability is the standard criterion for interactive products in human factors engineering and can be measured in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, learnability and satisfaction. Yet many products that satisfy these criteria are not used and in the past have faded away from the product scene. Other products that do not satisfy these criteria at all may be used quite extensively and have sometimes found wide, if not global, acceptance. There must be other factors than usability that predispose people to use particular products. On the basis of an evaluation study on a videophone system, a number of issues have been analysed that throw more light on why people like to use certain products. One important aspect is to what extent interactive products fit into the daily lifestyle and the personal environment of the user. The more complex products get, and the more functionalities they acquire, matching to individual lifestyle becomes more important, and, consequently, the more configurable these products have to be. This is an underestimated aspect of the design of interactive products that apparently will need increasing input from human and cognitive engineering.  相似文献
