A new integrated design approach for an optimal zonal wavelet-based ECG data compression (OZWC) method for a mobile telecardiology model is presented. The hybrid implementation issues of this wavelet method with a GSM-based mobile telecardiology system are also introduced. The performance of the mobile system with compressed ECG data segments selected from the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database is evaluated in terms of bit error rate (BER), percent rms difference (PRD), and visual clinical inspection. The compression performance analysis of the OZWC is compared with another wavelet-based (Discrete Symmetric Wavelet Compression) approach. The optimal wavelet algorithm achieved a maximum compression ratio of 18:1 with low PRD ratios. The mobile telemedical simulation results show the successful compressed ECG transmission at speeds of 100 (km/h) with BER rates of less than 10-15, providing a 73% reduction in total mobile transmission time with clinically acceptable reconstruction of the received signals. This approach will provide a framework for the design and functionality issues of GSM-based wireless telemedicine systems with wavelet compression techniques and their future integration for the next generation of mobile telecardiology systems 相似文献

Conventional DAMA (demand-assignment multiple access) designs process mobile radio calls in much the same way as mobile telephone calls. In mobile radio dispatch networks, where the dispatcher is often the resource bottleneck, these designs result in the inefficient use of satellite channels. A novel DAMA design is presented that ameliorates this problem by using the block-calls-queued service discipline, batched processing of several calls by the network dispatcher, and pipelined messaging for channel setup verification. Analysis shows that the proposed design offers advantages in satellite channel utilization and DAMA signaling overhead compared to previous designs. As space segment resources are expected to be very expensive in the mobile satellite systems networks under development, the proposed procedures could result in significant cost savings 相似文献

The various design issues related to developing an integrated voice/data mobile radio system, including high speed digital radio frequency modulation in a mobile environment, statistics for the talkspurt/silence gap composition of speech, switching schemes for voice/data integration, encoding techniques, and voice and data traffic statistics are discussed. A performance analysis is conducted for a typical design, showing that a voice-only mobile radio system can be upgraded to an integrated voice/data system capable of carrying the full voice and data loads without requiring additional radio channels and without compromising voice performance. A vision is presented for a fully IP-based mobile network which goes beyond UMTS/IMT-2000. A top-to-bottom design approach is introduced that is capable of offering new and innovative services and applications to both fixed and mobile users efficiently, cost effectively and in a user-friendly manner. Some issues and examples in the design steps following this new approach are discussed. This paper provides a novel design concept for advanced mobile multi interface terminals with radio network aggregation capability and enhanced quality of service (QoS) provisioning for multimedia services (voice, video and data) in heterogeneous wireless and mobile networks. A new module is established which provides the best QoS and lowest cost for any given multimedia service by using simultaneously all available wireless and mobile access networks for a given traffic flow. This novel adaptive QoS module with adaptive QoS routing algorithm is called advanced QoS routing algorithm (AQoSRA), which is defined independently from any existing and future radio access technology. The performance of our proposal is evaluated using simulations and analysis with multi-interface mobile stations with AQoSRA within, carrying multimedia traffic in heterogeneous mobile and wireless environment with coexistence of multiple Radio Access Technologies, such as 3G, 4G as well as future 5G radio access networks. The analysis of the proposed framework for radio networks aggregation in advanced mobile terminals has shown overall better performances regarding the achievable throughput and multimedia access probability in heterogeneous wireless and mobile environment. 相似文献

Mode (ATM) network. This mobile wireless ATM network is part of the Rapidly Deployable Radio Network (RDRN). The orderwire
system consists of a packet radio network which overlays the mobile wireless ATM network. Each network element in this network
uses Global Positioning System (GPS) information to control a beamforming antenna subsystem which provides for spatial reuse.
This paper also proposes a novel Virtual Network Configuration (VNC) algorithm for predictive network configuration. A mobile
ATM Private Network–Network Interface (PNNI) based on VNC is also discussed. Finally, as a prelude to the system implementation,

The design of beam-forming networks (BFNs) for a multibeam-steerable antenna array using Coherently Radiating Periodic Structures (CORPS) in cellular mobile communication systems is presented. In this paper, the CORPS technology is introduced and applied to the design of beam-forming networks in cellular systems for the first time. The CORPS-BFNs proposed show improved performance over the common way to feed antenna arrays used in mobile systems. In this design, the input ports of the feeding network design are optimized using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Two 2-beam design configurations of CORPS-BFN for a multibeam-steerable linear array on a cellular scenario are proposed and analyzed. Simulation results show the benefits of BFNs based on CORPS on a cellular mobile scenario based on the array factor response, in terms of side lobe level (SLL) and signal-to-interference (SIR) improvement capability. In Europe, the challenge of the design of third-generation cellular mobile radio systems has been taken numerous research and development activities in this field have been started. Third-generation mobile systems are emerging. Recently, mobile networks and internet technologies have been widely developed for the voice communication and information retrieval services all over the world. Compared with the wire‐line internet environment, mobile networks have lower bandwidth, longer transmission latency and unreliable connection, and the capability of mobile terminals is restricted by the limited memory size, lower CPU computation capability and inconvenient I/O interface. These limitations restrict the development of the wireless internet applications. In this paper, we design and implement a ‘wireless internet remote access platform’ (WIRAP). The WIRAP platform interconnects the wireless network and internet to provide mobile users a remote centralized storage and computation environment. A mobile user can store large volume of data and execute complex computations on WIRAP instead of on the mobile terminals. WIRAP supports different network interfaces (e.g. short message service (SMS), wireless markup language (WML) and hyper text markup language (HTML) and users may use terminals (with different network capabilities) to access WIRAP.
